Damascus in Preston

The food is so good here. The only gripe I have is their fries portion are way too small. I order a large fries and it looks like a small portion. Other than that, amazing food.

We just love this restaurant! We keep on coming back and we make sure to visit like once or twice a month. Foods were amazing, staffs were accommodating, place is lovely. I will surely come back again. We always order the amazing Chicken Kabsa, starter salad and my all time favourite Lamb chops 🤍 Thank you guys!!! X

Firstly, Friargate on Sat night felt like Istanbul in Turkey 😁 There were people everywhere, tables and chairs set up outside, people were eating and generally having a great time - a great vibe! Now the review of Damascus .. it was great 👍🏼 didn’t go in with huge expectations. It’s clean, with plenty of seating and AWESOME service. The females at front of house were absolutely superb. They were friendly, gave advice, smiled and were working extremely hard all night. There was 1 female staff member who was Moroccan 🇲🇦 who really stood out - excellent service. The food was decent too. Clean, served and presented well. Nice taste - the rice on the various dishes all tasted the same. Meat was cooked well and tasty. The best bit was the bill at the end. Very reasonable. Me and 4 others are for £68. Will defo visit again.

Such a humble place with such wonderful staff. They make you feel right at home. The food just tops it all off. I have never had Shawarma before and I had it here, definitely my new favourite food and place! Just everything about this spot in the heart of Preston just makes you feel safe, comfortable and warm. Also, the food you get for how much it costs is incredible. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. 😊 Definitely will be coming back.

Thanks you for delivering - This is my usual order and usually its perfect but this time the zatar fatayer were not as good usual and you forgot to add the sauce for the mandi.

Sadly I have no idea if this restaurant is any good or not. Do not place orders with them through Uber eats. I had a courier mark my order as delivered and never deliver the food. Tried to call the restaurant to see if there is any solution and it sounds like they're using some kind of virtual landline system because there is weird electronic distortion and the person on the phone hung up on me. Now I'm trying to get my money back from Uber. I've spent 24 quid and I have no dinner

What ever on the menu they just sending wrong things

I ordered the x6 lamp chops, only 5 arrived with no bread as a side (which is stated it came with). I also ordered a dr.pepper but they sent a pepsi instead. The quality of the food weren’t amazing which surprised me due to the high-rated reviews. I wouldn’t order from here again

Their service is amazing and I have been coming here for years with my friends 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I will never get enough of the smell of their fresh bread, reminds me of back home 🥺 Their prices are very good too!! 🥰🥰 Also, I never get enough of their interior, if you look at old Damascus homes, it's exactly the same style! I love it 😍 Now they have an outside area for the summer and I'm looking forward to it ☺️

I am a regular visitor of this restaurant and every time I go, it never disappoints. I’ve tried many of their dishes, and the taste is always amazing. The flavors are rich, the ingredients are fresh, and the presentation is always on point. My absolute favorite is their Kabsa — it’s cooked to perfection and packed with so much flavor that I find myself craving it often. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic and delicious food!

I'm not going to talk about his food. However, his ethics is abysmal even though we exchanged phone numbers & to which I have now deleted, I will never go back to this place ever again. The owner of this so-called restaurant had the audacity to phone me late at night without leaving any type of message. I visited his restaurant today to ask him what was the reason for him to call me & he scuttled to the back of the shop without even noticing me, why was he scared of talking like a decent humam only God knows.

Quality of food was fine, though we were given the wrong order. Also, food was ordered for 21:00 and didn’t arrive until nearly 21:30. It would be best if bags were properly labelled, so there is no confusion or mixups when it comes to delivery.

Do not recommend, overpriced no flavour and undercooked.

Food was tasty as always but stone cold with the chips undercooked and soggy. It remains one of my favourites for a healthy(ish) takeaway with loads of flavour but it’s the third time it’s been cold now.

Bad experience with the staff. I called to inform regarding the missing item in an order and got accused of lying. Bought Mandi for iftar and ended up getting only half chicken where full chicken was served in that order before. I’m a regular customer at this place but this incident was not what I expected! They says the menu is updated but nowhere it was mentioned! How could I know if they haven’t mentioned it anywhere!? Never ever stepping foot in this shop again! Very rude customer service for their own mistake! Food might be good but their behaviour is not worth it. Hugely disappointed! I didn’t claim my money back . Let them have it! Sick people

One word - excellent. Got the platter for 2 for iftaar as takeaway. Came with 3 dips, 2 breads, and a massive platter of rice and meats. The meat was cooked absolutely perfectly. Tender, juicy, all grilled to perfection. The rice was flavourful, and absorbed all the juices of the meat. Bread and dips were terrific. I must admit however, I didn't know what the dips were other than hummus but nonetheless they tasted great. No complaints, highly recommend. May Allah bless your restaurant.

Absolutely terrible. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap meal that was supposed to come with salad and coleslaw – instead, I got some sad, borderline inedible veg and not a single trace of coleslaw or salad. Complete false advertising not getting what you’ve stated in the description. The chips were stone cold and soggy, clearly left sitting out for who knows how long. The sauce was disgusting and made the entire wrap barely edible. Surprised at how bad it was considering the positive reviews. Possibly the worst takeaway I’ve had in years, avoid at all costs.

Had a full chicken with rice for the take away It was absolutely disgusting the chicken was already smelly I will never ever visit this restaurant again it was very old as soon as I opened the bag Throw it in the trash 🤮

Wonderful food! I highly recommend the chicken swarma wrap, which comes woth chips, dips, pickles and salad. Very attentive, friendly staff. We got free soup and a couple of sweets. Busy on a friday, so go early.

Taking too much time to prepare meal..specially they sometimes they use others used sauces (i saw this with my own eyes)..mutton and lambs are sometimes not freshly cooked (i got some bad smells from mutton when i had dine in one day).i am not going there anyway..very bad experience.

For couple of times in a row the fries where just warmed up, not fresh, otherwise the quality of the shawarma and pizza was good as always. I've asked for a few dips on the side as I've paid more than £35 for the order, but they didn't came.

its not what I ordered. it should have been meet, wrap, fries and colesaw.Instead its a very small wrap with a little meat in it , some sour cabage, some garlic sauce and fries.

I have been a regular at this place for two years now, and the food has been wonderful each time. I am usually served by Issam, whose pleasant demeanor is an asset to the restaurant. The atmosphere is casual and is reminiscent of the restaurants I used to frequent in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

The place is very clean and the staff are extremely friendly. They gave us free sweets and fries. I have been there at least 20 times and I always order Syrian chicken shawarma as it is the best there.

Honestly, this is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited. The staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel like part of their family. As for the food, the lamb is incredibly tender — it’s worth every penny. You definitely get your money’s worth with portions that’ll keep you full all day. I highly recommend the lamb mandi, chicken mandi, and the shawarma.

Anfal is a blessing to Damascus restaurant. She is an amazing super super customer service provider. Damascus needs happy and welcoming staff like Anfal. Zico, Abdo is one of the best chef he makes an amazing lentil soup and Mohamed is one of the hard workers who is always smiling with the customers. All the staff are very good and welcoming . Been ignoring this place for a while, but today decided to try it with my family. We were surprised by the size of the meal, menu said it's for 3-4 people, but it was even too much for family of 5 (4 adults and a child). Nice atmosphere and delicious food. My daughter, who is a picky eater, loved the food, she even said it's will be her favourite. Highly recommend 👌

I asked for Qabli rice in Lamb Mandi, but rice are not Qabli. They have red pepper and not to the quality of Damascus. I will show picture when visit in person.
