FORUM BAR & KITCHEN in Preston

Three of us had a great meal. Going again next week with friends who have never been. Another excellent Preston restaurant.

21 quid for 2 amazing courses, no pictures required! Home made Pakoras and Lamb Koftas to start, fresh ingredients and well presented. Mussels, sweet potato Katsu Curry, Caesar Salad and Duck pancakes as Mains. Well, to be to the point, I doubt this can be beaten in quality, quantity and the service it came with. Drinks were reasonably priced but you can always walk across the road to the House of Ales for a night cap. We’ll be back for sure, please book, this place is going to be shocker soon.

The food and the wine were incredible. It was a bit loud so I couldn’t hear people at the other end of the circle table but that’s like most places. They didn’t offer a birthday mini treat for the person whose birthday it is and usually places with the same prices do. There is a couple of vegetarian options but not massive choice for mains.

Very friendly service. Decent choice of dishes , wine & cocktails. we shared 4 starters, sat upstairs which was quieter.

Amazing cocktails, brilliant service (Thanks Ryan), wecloming and friendly. Will definately be back for some food next time!

Food was lovely really enjoyed my gyros and sweet potato fries were delicious 😋 had a bottle of pinot grigio which was cheap and nasty ! service so so , bit miserable so didn't leave a tip

Brilliant experience and a superb staff team. Maya and Ryan were great especially around my allergies. They communicated clearly and confidently and the food was delicious. Love forum and have enjoyed visiting it over the last 11 years!! Well done to the management on the staff recruitment too! ✨✨

We held an event in the upstairs space, it was perfect for what we needed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will try this format again for other similar events.

Amazing service, drinks and food. Would definitely recommend. The sweet potato katsu curry was delicious, as were the Moroccan chicken skewers. The ruby rose cocktail was nice and refreshing.

June 2024 Quick update, food still beautiful, and it’s nice to see Marcel back too 👍 last night we had Beer Battered Cod and Chunky Chips, Taquitos, King Prawns in Garlic and Malaysian Curry all delicious My regular weekend haunt, the food is great, so are the staff and lovely varied menu and they have some really nice beers too

Food and service really good atmosphere quiet but was teatime 5.30 started to fill up later.

Some of the best food I've had in Preston in a brilliant setting with amazing "nothing is a hassle" service. The food was sublime, especially the starter food we had and the speed we got it - despite being busy - was very quick. Price wise we thought it was absolutely fair for the quality and quantity. I didn't get his name but the American who served on the top floor was brilliant, though everyone who we talked to there was very pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere was terrific, it was nice and tucked away in our corner and we could easily hear ourselves talk and it looked like a really fun place to go for a drink let alone for food. Would absolutely recommend it for a meal out or a place to go for a drink, we'll certainly be going back ourselves and definitely somewhere we'll bring people to.

Pretty good place. Service was attentive and quick. Didn't have the drink I wanted off the menu. Had a Guinness, wasn't a great Guinness, slightly odd taste, but wasn't terrible. Had the Forum Burger - was very wet. The plate was a swimming pool by the end - needed resting before serving. The mustard and chipotle ketchup is a mix which just ends overpowering everything. It's not bad by any means, just overcomplicated maybe. The fries were fine. I'd say it is worth coming here if you want a cocktail or quick bite.

Beautiful restaurant. Food was fantastic and the staff were brilliant too. Will looked after us during our visit and was very friendly, attentive and professional. A credit to the restaurant. Will definitely be coming back.

Yay, it's been a while, a restaurant that actually delivers flavours. The food here is so flavoursome. I had the pulled pork, and my partner had the prawns starter, both fantastic. Mains were the Gyros and the Morocon chicken. Sooooo good. We will be back. Also staff were fantastic and we've never got drink orders so quickly anywhere. I highly recommend the local black powder navey strength gin and my partner recommends the zombie 🧟‍♀️, which has the kick of a mule 😂

We have discovered this gem two weeks ago. First time we were very impressed with the variety of dishes on the menu. When food arrived, we were delighted by the flavour and presentation of the dishes. Second time round it was equally good. My Canarian mum was overwhelmed by the quality of the food, private atmosphere and excellent service. 5 out of 5 for us. We'll be visiting often.

Food was well below our expectations, chicken dry and berned. Too expensive for what we get.

The food was not fully eaten...... and the manager did not make it clear he was going to deduct anything of the bill, we are not the kind of people who do not pay for our food..... we were just saying how the quality and the amount of chicken was very poor to say the least and I would have thought most establishments would appreciate any feed back... to learn and hopefully in the future make improvements

Top end of Preston! Spent lunch here today and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and table service. Food was immaculate and service even better! Big up Will and chefs, muscles & duck pancakes certainly a recommendation. Thanks team and will certainly be visiting again, top relaxed atmosphere and value for money!

Have booked Forum Bar & Kitchen for the last few years when on an annual trip to Preston. Our numbers normally range between 8-12 on Saturday (so not always the easiest group to accommodate) however it just seems to go without a hitch. Food was excellent. Great choice of wines, beers and ciders. What made this slightly more special is the lad serving us commented that he had seen the annual booking over the last few years and asked what the occassion was. Very nice touch. Must be good. Already discussion ongoing about 'same again next year'.

Really nice local place! We went on Wednesday, ordered for, a set menu and would absolutely recommend Katsu Chicken! The burger was nice too and the cheese and truffle fries are an absolute must! Ruby Rose and Solero cocktails were our favourite out of the four we ordered. Overall, one of the nicest places in Preston. Would definitely return.

Everything about this restaurant was spot on. Food was amazing as was the service.

An amazing lunch for two and the pooch was made very welcome. The staff were actually the stars of the show, they were impeccable, so friendly and attentive. One of my favourite bars in Preston

Me and my partner have been here three times and we love it. I have got the mussels for my starter every time. Spicy but beautiful William was our server the first and third time and he's great. Friendly and professional. One of our fave places to go!

Really nice atmosphere, and staff were super friendly. The food is good but not amazing, which wouldn't be an issue if it was cheaper. I ordered the fish and chips and my fish was half the size of what I'd have expected, especially for 16 quid. However it is very pretty restaurant.

We had our late Christmas meal at Forum in Winckley Square and its was amazing! The service was fabulous and the food was incredible. Definitely worth a visit if you're around Preston, you won't regret it.

Recently had a Christmas do at the upstairs area. Great drinks and great food but the main thing was beyond amazing staff of Maya & Ryan. They really knew their stuff, entertaining, friendly as well as incredibly polite

Great food and outstanding service. Some venues are really lacking in good service at the moment but Forum was a fabulous experience. Ryan and Maya were attentive and professional. Highly recommend Forum for tasty food and excellent service.

Lovely and cozy restaurant. The service was great and very humble. The varieties of bear, drinks and cocktails are good and huge. The food itself was delicious and great in taste. They try to add some Japanese style on each dish. The quantities are fair, but won’t make you full.

Will was amazing, unreal service

Quite possibly the worst bar in the entire UK! Please avoid this bar!!!! they have a dress code but only when it suits them, nothing on the website to state this, nothing on the doors of the venue. The manager is completely covered in tattoos and personally I don't think a hat is more concerning than his horrendous neck tattoo which is vibrantly on show. Clearly the staff hired at this place don't have class nor want customers. The staff member that approached us - bad bad BAD attitude, I don't think dividing your customers because of their attire is good for business. I hope the owner of this venue reads this review and calls for a clean up of horrendous bad mannered, judgmental staff!!! Who knew wearing shorts on summers days and going to a bar in the DAY would cause such offence.

Very good drinks, lovely atmosphere

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here with friends. Can easily recommend their Tai fish cakes as a flavoursome and light starter and also the wild mushroom linguine as a mains. Simona attended us with excellently attentive and friendly service. Comfortable and pleasant atmosphere, ambient decor. Comfy seating, good sized tables. Wheelchair accessible entrance with seating/tables available on same level, other tables on a further split level. Don't know if they had a disabled toilet, so best to ring to check beforehand, otherwise toilets are upstairs. Can highly recommend and will happily return!!

Great place used for a private function upstairs. Great location and lovely food. Reasonably priced non alcoholic drinks makes a change for designated drivers! :)

Will, Maya and Katie served us and were amazing!! They catered to our mad table of 8 and exceeded all expectations! One of our party had various allergens and they catered to her needs, they made her feel very comfortable and double checked anything! Brilliant place to go, food was incredible and service was amazing! Definitely recommend and definitely coming again!

The day I went to Forum it was quite only a few tables were occupied, possibly being a week day evening it's less busy. The bar itself is very modern and clean. The staff are very friendly and the service was prompt. The food is very nice we ordered 2 Lancashire burgers along with peri peri fries although there is a wide variety of other dishes on the menu. The burgers are tasty, and the portion sizes are adequate. The cost of the meals was also reasonable. Certainly worth a visit if you go into Preston City centre and fancy a decent bite to eat.

Great restaurant and friendly service. My favourite place to eat in Preston with lots of vegan options. The atmosphere in this bar is great too, very relaxed and welcoming for some cocktails after your meal

Came for lunch with my friend and I can’t believe how stunning this little venue is. Abbie was our waitress and not only was she beautiful, but she was friendly and super efficient. The food was amazing- I had a steak ciabatta and fries, Prosecco, which was crisp and fresh, and the music was ambient. Excuse the half eaten meal, I was mid way through when I realised I needed to rave about this place!

Really good service from start to finish. Food was really good especially the ciabatta with cheese. The staff were friendly and polite.
