Slice Pizza & Bread Bar in Manchester

I visited the Slice pizza at Oxford Road station (not the one pictured on here), and I'd just like to say what a lovely experience I had. I was greeted by a lovely young man wearing glasses, I think his name was Wilf. He was friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. It's really lovely to experience such good customer service. I would visit again in light of this. Pizza was also delicious. Thanks

Choicing from a variety of pizza’s, your slices are heated in an oven and delivered to you as crisp, tasty slices of enjoyment. Very good on the wallet. Staff are helpful to explain the system. High recommended for a very casual but extremely tasty food stop.

This place offers quick and tasty pizza slices in a chilled bar style setting. The slices offered have interesting topping combinations which always end up being delicious. The seating area is relaxed and a nice place to be. Only giving 4 stars because it’s a bit on the pricey side for what you get, but that won’t stop me from coming here again.

Superb pizza spot in amongst all the bars & restaurants. I ordered individual slices of 3 different veggie pizzas and loved them all.

I was in the northern Qtr. of Manchester doing some photography, feeling a little hunry i popped in, here for a slice of pizza, the staff were friendly the pizza was very good. Will be back when I am in town.

Out for birthday drinks yesterday and stopped in here for a slice and Aperol Spritz. The pizza was fresh and delicious and the Spritz was perfectly made. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Slice is superb - the best pizza in town. The authentic pizzas are made with the best ingredients, by staff who are friendly and engaging, at really reasonable prices. There’s a great drinks selection. The aperol spritz is also the best in town, and the negroni dangerously lush. As well as authentic pizza, there authentic gelato with a huge range of inventive, diabetes-inducing flavours. The deep fried lasagne is evil, but also delicious. Slice is perfect for a post-work bite and drink, great to sit outside on a sunny Saturday afternoon, and spot on to pick up a tempting slice on the way home from a night out.

Whilst bee hunting we stopped for a quick snack. We sat outside with our dog and ordered a slice of pizza and a beer each. It was lovely and very filling Then we had ice cream. Wow. Carrot cake ice cream really does taste like carrot cake! Went in to the loo and was amazed at how spacious and inviting it was. Looking forward to going back early evening when we have more time

Absolute shocking. Bad service. Disgusting food. Got the impression they just wanted the cash and see the back of you.

Found this little gem of a place when I visited Manchester, a proper authentic pizzeria. A big shoutout out to Liam, he knows who he is. I rarely write reviews but he went above and beyond.

Popped in a few weeks ago to try out the pizza, didn't think much of it and was pricey too, thought the staff were arrogant and not accomodating, just after your money, i asked of a favour but was rejected instantly, not my idea of a decent establishment. i will stick to Croma for my pizza

Considering it seems to be marketed as a high end authentic pizza spot. It was super disappointing. Base crunchy like it had been cooked froze and re cooked again. Fair enough if you’re using decent ingredients but it’s dead set not a good slice of pizza. No chew no fresh flavour just real flat. Bad effort in a good location. Sorry :(

I visited with friends yesterday on recommendation, and wow what a great place. Great concept, friendly staff, lovely restaurant with outdoor seating. My calzone was tasty and the pesto focacia was amazing

With town hitting 30 degrees dining al-desko needed to be replaced with the more common parlace of al-fresco. Offering outside seating in the sun trap of Stevenson Square, selling pizza by the slice, Slice was the ideal option. Coke in glass bottles, artisan gelato just added to the experience. The dinner hour became like a trip abroad. Long may it continue.

I have always enjoyed this venue but this evening was disturbed to have to share the tables with a small lapdog that a group of young customers saw fit to allow to scamper around the place on an extendable lead before joining them to eat their meal on the table! Unhygienic and in breach of Health and Safety regulations. Not one of the staff seemed bothered by this, Reported!

ohhh I love slice so much. I just wish they did there fig pizza more. However I love all there pizzas and the salad. It's just the best place in Manchester to go for a casual bite and a Peroni.

Lovely casual little pizza place served by the slice. My go to for a quick meal in the northern quarter to soak up the alcohol ! They do nice wines too !

Couple of slices and an Aperol after work is bliss. Also great choice for a first date. Informal but good quality and something a bit different.

The portions were tiny. He didn’t give us plates or cutlery or enough napkins and played on his phone. Feel ripped off.

Came here with friend, got snickers and salted caramel ice-cream which was excellent. The pizza slices were mediocre, maybe a bit on small side! Will return for icecream

Great option when your pissed and don’t fancy a kebab, but otherwise it feels like a bit of a rip off. The ordering system is bizarre and takes ages. Meh

Really like this place. As I live in the Northern Quarter, the Slice is normally my first port of call when the sun is out and I fancy a couple of relaxed drinks with a nice bite of food - the pizza slices they do are very very tasty. I have been there many times and always enjoyed the drinks and food plus some nice sunshine. I am yet to try their ice cream which look delicious! Maybe during my next visit.

Great pizza, amazing gilato, fabulous staff. Would highly recommend as a place to hang out in rare manchester sun.

Slice of Pizza, always goes down well we decided to share a few slices at the eatery, but oh dear I bit into one of the slices and chewed for a few seconds before deciding to get the offending object from my mouth, shock horror, the object was a piece of metal no wonder I couldndt chew threw it, not happy.. didnt realise I could have kicked up quite a fuss causes of the shock and the fact my tonge was sore from chewing the metal. I accepted money off haha they didnt even let us eat for free. Wont be going again..

Took my family here for lunch on a sunny Saturday. Good choice of Pizza, even for my fussy 5 year old. Gorgeous coffee and gelato. Nice to be able to sit outside. Service at the counter seemed a bit chaotic, but they did apologise. A hit with us and beats MacDonald's as a quick family lunch in Manchester!

Found that a long black hair was melted within the mozzarella. Approached the staff but management said it was mine! Unbelievable. Will never return. Crap and overpriced.

Ask for a slice of pizza at £2.80. Another 4 people came after me and he cooks and serve pizza all the same time. By this time mine was first in and rock hard. I came back and snapped the pizza in front of him. He said it's because I got the end bit. Basically first served gets rubbish bits. REALLY?? Stupid arrogate staff. Never again.

A real hidden gem in the Northern Quarter. I love sitting here outside in the sun with a glass of wine. Not had pizza yet but it always looks amazing.

In the sunshine this place is amazing, located in the heart of the NQ in Stevenson square Slice offers lots of outdoor pavement seating and a canopy for shelter if required.Pizza, booze and ice cream is a winning combo in my opinion. The pizza is replenished all day with approx 10 different varieties. We paid £14 for 5 slices. All delicious - especially basil and pine nut YUM.There are around 15 different flavours of ice cream and this can be sold in tubs or cones. They also sell the best caramel shortcakes I have ever eaten and nutella and banana calzone WOW.Staff are so friendly, nice laid back vibe.A new fave in the NQ

Excellent sausage and broccoli pizza as per normal all at a reasonable price. Beautiful sunny day to sit outside and watch the world go by with a bottle of Baladin Isaac beer from an Italian micro brewery.

I always enjoy heading to Slice for a tasty piece of Pizza or two and a cold beer. It's the perfect little stop when you're feeling a little bit peckish but don't quite want to eat a big meal. The variety is fantastic and there's plenty of veggie options, it's reasonably priced and when the sun is out you can sit out front and people watch! Always a pleasure.,

I have visited the place today and it is great. Although they sell the pizza by the slice it is worth the price and it is very cheap. Today I had a slice of pizza which seems to be done there, with a white medium wine and I only paid £5 and it twisted delicious. Cheap and good quality food. I am very satisfied

I was introduced to Slice by colleagues and it did not disappoint. There are plenty of options to choose from - I personally recommend the Speck, Mozzarella and Pesto pizza slice. They also do Calzone, sandwiches and a range of mouthwatering Italian breads. I went for a quick lunch, but I'd certainly go back. I've yet to discover the ice cream yet, which looked equally as appealing! The only thing I'd say was that the service was a little slow... but that really doesn't warrant giving them any less that 5 stars.

I've walked past Slice many times but never really noticed it, but found on a list of best pizza places in the city. You can go for a quick slice to take away or have a nice meal inside. The choices were great and really varied, especially as a vegetarian. The pizza tasted great and really fresh and at £3 a slice you get big pieces! The pizza is also available until 1am I believe which is perfect for a snack on a night out. Staff were really friendly and very attentive!

Real nice people who work there and their pizzza is great... they also open til 2am at weekends which is great.... i love this place

The pizza was nice quality, maybe a bit small for the Price that I paid but nice. I asked for two slices and one of the servers told me a price but when i was asking to pay.. the Price was a bit more expencive... Well, maybe a small confusion but i had to pay it.

When I found Slice I was both delighted and frustrated. Delighted as I was starving and needed some food, frustrated as I only had 5 mins to spare. Like a dream come true this place solved both problems - but left me wishing I had time for a second slice. Good value, nice selection of flavohrs and tasty pizza. I'll be back.

La pizza è molto buona anche se abbastanza cara, è possibile mangiare fino a tardi e questo è un grande punto a favore. La cosa migliore di questo locale però è il ragazzo al bancone che parla perugino, mi sa che si mangia la pizza di nascosto perchè sembra che abbia sempre uno gnocco in bocca.

I often come here with friends for a causal bite to eat. Love the variety of pizza topping available, the quick and professional service, and the relaxed atmosphere. Nice area to sit outside in the summer months, and reasonably priced drinks. Gelato flavours are also varied and mouth-watering.

Sono stata in questo locale durante una serata a tema Italia organizzata dalla University of Manchester. L'accoglienza non è stata delle migliori. I prezzi sono abbastanza cari ma in linea con quelli della città tutto sommato. La pizza non è male ma neanche eccezionale. Sicuramente è migliore delle pizze Inglesi in generale ma non è tra i miei luoghi preferiti per la pizza.

This pizzeria and bar gives a taste of Italy at a really reasonable price. They have an awesome selection of pizzas, in long rows, which they cut off and bring to your table served on a wooden platter. The ice cream is good, but not outstanding. If you're coming to Manchester for ice cream then Gingers Comfort Emporium serves better quality ice cream. That said, this place is great because it's open evenings and is a great alternative to going out to a noisy bar. It's good if you want to hang out with friends in a comfortable and cool place, where you'll get a seat and a table in a nice atmosphere. The staff are friendly and everything is super clean. The whole set up makes you feel like you're on the continent. Love it.

Popped in here on Saturday as a last stop before the train home. 5 of us and we were looking forward to it. No one really explained how to order or what would then happen. 2 of us ordered and then stood waiting. Another member of staff handed a spoon to us and then finally we were told to go to a table and wait. The pizza was then brought over on boards with our drinks. We were all talking and not really paying attention. Suddenly a man appeared claiming to be the Manager, very aggressive and told us some of the pizza was not ours and accused us of knowingly taking it!!!! We were a bit shocked by his tone and explained that we didn't realise. We apologised and he went off to talk to the staff about it. We thought that was the end of the matter but he came back and said we told the staff it was ours. We had not. He was incredibly aggressive and I am sorry to say that after offering to pay the extra we had to shout back. So rude and a bit scary to be honest. We quickly finished up and left. Such a shame as the concept and the toppings were great. The broccoli pizza was brilliant and it would be a great place to pop in for a quick bit. I understand that they probably have been ripped off by people but that is NOT what we were doing and it was a genuine mistake.

We were after something quick and informal for dinner and stumbled across this place. Great selection of homemade, thin crust pizza, with interesting toppings, that they heat on order and bring to your table. I definitely recommend ordering one of each slice and sharing as a table. Really tasty with their great chilli oil on the side! Worth noting that it does get super busy at weekends so plan to queue a bit.

Super friendly staff, outdoor seating that is PERFECT when the sun's shining, and inexpensive prices. My one bone of contention with Slice is the vegan option: there's usually only one, sometimes two, and the veg that tops it tends to be severely undercooked?? It just feels as though, given the sheer variety of toppings available, they should be nailing the vegan pizza game. That said, it is the best spot for catching up, supping a beer and cramming in as much focaccia bread as humanly possible. Long may it reign!

I've visited Slice 3 times in the past month now, since I work close by and it's fast and tasty. So good, in fact, that I want to take the chef home with me! A variety of different pizza options to try, but I have to agree that one slice isn't enough for lunch. Two slices fills me up fine though. It is slightly expensive at £8 for two slices and a cup of tea. Nevertheless, I'd recommend it as a treat every once in a while. Lovely smiley staff, and if you get there at the right time, the sun hits the seating area outside at the front, so you can imagine you're somewhere much nicer than Manchester's Northern Quarter ;)

Three of us went here for a quick lunch today half way through a seminar round the corner. It was just perfect! Very tasty pizza slices, delivered quickly and not too expensive. Best of all, I have quite a few intolerance problems so thought I couldn't have anything but they really bent over backwards to help! Thanks guys

Went for lunch here on a sunny day and it was lovely. I know some posts have suggested one slice isn't enough for lunch, but it's a big slice so for me it is. Slice of pizza and a peroni for £6.50 in the sun, happy days. I sound definitely return the varieties of pizza looked delicious I couldn't decide which to choose!

I have to echo previous posts - one slice is nice for a snack, but if you want a lunch you're gonna need two or three so it's not quite the budget option some reviews suggest.Nevertheless, it's a nice alternative if Romana pizza is your thing (crispy square slices rather than a classic sloppy Neapolitan round pizza). I had two slices and one was too crispy for my tastes, one was just right. Strange as they went in the oven together.Tasty but not a patch on Rudy's up the road.

Went here last night with my sisters, the restaurant is very nice inside, staff were lovely and friendly. The pizza was gorgeous we tried a few different slices and they were all really tasty and fresh. Shall be returning x

Popped in to slice for a bite to eat at lunchtime. The staff were nice and friendly, but the pizza just wasn't great. Way too crispy and was still very hungry after a slice. It wasn't bad, just not great. Much better pizza in the area, although it is good for a quick takeaway lunch and also has a nice area to sit outside.

Visited during a busy period so the staff where ran off their feet. Pizza isn't served in traditional pizza slice shapes but rather in squares which I didn't think was good! Quality was not too bad, price was not too bad. Place isn't bad, but nothing to rave about either. . .

Having read glowing review of this as a 'best budget restaurant' in Manchester we headed to the Northern Quarter thinking our lunch option couldn't go wrong. The pizza on display looked good and at £3 a slice we ordered. What was delivered was hot, crisp and full of flavour, but just way too small. Think of it as a tasting menu. It left my 12 year old daughter looking for more! We're not greedy, but had to then go elsewhere to eat.

Where to even begin with this place- me and my girlfriend absolutely love it. There is absolutely nowhere that comes close to the level of pizza these guys serve and the actual servers themselves are nothing short of perfect. Always polite, courteous and helpful. I would recommend Slice to anyone visiting Manchester- it is 10 times better than any other pizza place especially in the northern quarter. If you're looking for a bite to eat go in- you will not be disappointed

My and my partner went for lunch at slice on the m sunny weekend in may.We sat outside and had the duck pizza, pumpkin, mushroom and they were amazing. Great staff and a great location. Pizzas were reasonably priced. However, we did have ice cream as well which was more expensive than the Pizzas and slightly over priced. All in all a good lunch and would go back

The pizza is great and you won't find a thing like it elsewhere in Manchester, you may find it pricey at 2.95 a slice but 2 slices is plenty for any lunch. I ask what is this place as there is a large bar and dining area to the rear I guess it gets busy in the evening... With Mafiosa? Hehe. Definitely worth a visit

Yet again Slice have done it , first it was a the real taste of Roman Pizza on Stevenson square and now gelato that any Italian mother would love to call hers . What ever next !!!

Very good pizza, and you have a huge variety to choose from. They don't stay with the traditional, and I think that's the best part. Love the fact that they give you a wooden spoon with the number!! Nice environment and nice staff. The only down part is the seating outside. Too many tables and chairs for such a tiny place! It was sunny outside, everyone was on top of each other!

Thin and crispy crust. A real treat. Not cheap but quality. Coffees are great too. A must if fancy a pizza around the northern quarter.

As my title suggests the pizza is good, thin and very crispy, i like the way they serve them on wooden boards cut into smaller slices. I had the mushroom and brocalli and chilli. However the salted caramel millionaire slices were amazeballs! Would come again just for one of those bad boys.

I have visited this place on a couple of occasions most recently yesterday, the slices of pizza are tasty and the toppings are slightly different to the bog standard margheritas in most places. They have started serving Gelato which means that they are definitely going too get more visits from me due to my verrrry sweet tooth!

It's just bog standard pizza, not good pizza, certainly not great! Will fill a gap on a night out, but would not go out of my way for it.

I've been to slice now twice in the past fortnight and it's now a firm favourite of mine for nice and easy pizza in the city. 2/3 slices per visit should leave you satisfied, a great selection and staff are always very welcoming. Love it!

I come here a lot and because i work in Afflecks around corner i get lots of tourists asking best place to eat and i always direct them here..... It is a great place to arrange to meet people and great if you just fancy a drink and a snack after work..., Matt the owner is really friendly and so are his staff so you never feel intimidated if you are on your own whilst waiting for your friends.... Its a great place to chat aswell as you dont get deafening music, ive introduced loads of friends to PIzza Slice and they all return.... Well worth 5 stars!

We met up with a large group of friends on Saturday night to celebrate my 50th birthday. Matt and his staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Ordered over 10 different types of pizza, enough to feed fifty people. Loads of different ones to chose from and everybody has commented afterwards how good all the food was. Great atmosphere made for a really excellent night.

Nice cosy place to grab a relatively inexpensive but beautiful tasting pizza with a nice crust. The crust in particular is remarkeable, the pizza are small in size as it's only a slice but its a great little treat.

I visit Manchester every week to buy stock & always enjoy my lunch from this amazing little gem of a place ... The pizza from here is the closest thing to my sis in laws cooking who is Italian & one amazing cook - this really is an authentic Italian find amongst a lot of copies ... 5 star from me for friendly service & fabulous pizza!!

Got catered for a large group of colleagues here. The freshly made dough was fantastic, an absolute treat. Varied toppings too. Everyone had an amazing lunch.Service was on time and friendly too. This is a must visit!!

An unexpected nice place close to our hostel with cheap pizza at £2.95 a slice. A good variety of unique and delicious flavours. The place seemed smaller at first, but it's larger inside, with a great atmosphere and a friendly staff.

just a lovely Italian feeling place with chairs outside and delicious Roman style pizza (I think mostly) and the world's most luxurious salted caramel millionnaires shortbread (maybe a one-off?!) A nice place to sit particularly in the sun. Shame about the view of Stephenson Square sometimes but good for people watching! something pleasantly different. And they do aperativo hour after work with free crostinis!

Love this place which offers a good choice of Pizzas by the slice. Unique flavours and well made. Some good wine to go with it . Some good out door place to sit when the weather permits. Been there a few times and will go back. Loved the friendly Sicilian service today.

The restaurant is a lot bigger inside than its humble exterior suggests. My friend and I opted for pizza slices (£2.95 each). Mine had potato and sausage with cheese and his had peppers. Delicious. The choice of drinks was good too as there was a bar with alcoholic drinks.It was early so we went for soft drinks. They sold San Pellegrino soft drinks which I love, but flavours I had never encountered before (I tried the bitter lemon one). I'm guessing it takes its Italian identity seriously.Lovely service from the Italian lady that served us and would happily go again.

Being italian I am a bit fussy when it comes to pizza. Well, this place has definitely hit the spot! The pizza is lovely, all made from scratch. It's not cheap at all, especially compared to Italy...5 pizza slices (the slices are quite small) and a small calzone with 2 drinks was around £30 (making pizza is very cheap, so that's a lot of profit).It tastes good, worth a visit!

OK, not a typical pizza house. All is made from scratch with artisan bread with toppings that make you wonder if they will work and by god they do. Choice is massive and mouth watering

Called in when we wanted a quick bite to eat whilst in the area - good value, delicious pizza and breads. Good selection of wines and unusual beers, and friendly staff. Felt a bit like being in Italy ! Plenty of outside tables in case the sun shines! Liked it so much we came back the next day, and we will definitely be back again for more tasty pizza!

Absolutely beautiful pizza and lovely to sit outside when the sun is out. My favourite is the fig and proscuitto, I even get this in the early hours of the morning after a night out, if that glorious window is open. Only criticism would be to have some prices on your beers in the fridge, can be a bit of a shock if you happen to pick one of the expensive ones.

Great place that doesn't cost alot and the pizzas are really tasty. They have good wine aswell even though you should pick something else than the house wine. Definately worth a visit!
