The food at Slice of India was average, and the manager was rude and unprofessional. They charge £18 per person for the buffet, even if you’re not eating have a look on buffet and must be pay £18 because they have policy. Very disappointing experience.

First visit, greeted with a smile and shown around. Service was excellent and all staff friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and hot. Dosa station was amazing and tasty. Well worth the visit and will go back again.p

I had a very unpleasant experience at Slice of India restaurant. The food was well below average, lacking flavor and quality. On top of that, the manager was incredibly rude and showed no professionalism in handling our concerns. It felt like customer service was the least of their priorities. Save yourself the trouble—there are much better places to spend your time and money. I won’t be going back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others.

Don’t go here on Friday’s. Food is very bad… the only thing good is the water.

Was recommended this place so visited as party of 4 Very good price . Wasn't expecting it to be Buffer and not my favourite kind of dining. Food was actually very good . Parking great . Good for family dining or big family/ groups/ mixed age groups. Keen to try a music night here . Only reason not for 5 star is just personal taste as buffet is not my favourite. I'm veggie and found plenty of food choices . Staff very good at clearing away and attentive . Easy access for wheelchair/ prams , all on one level . Huge place , probably biggest restaurant I been to in a long time I can remember.

Truly electrifying Indianness in everything @ Derby, England

Went here with family again this week. My dad loves this place - if they had an all inclusive option with bedroom, i’m sure he’d take it!! Again good selection of foods, with a coupla changes from last year (Gobi manchurian added, nice touch), with staples of dosa, bhattura, noodles etc all as usual. It was a Sunday so less people as easier going (Fridays and Saturdays are very busy) and so prefer it. Dad’s favourites pani puri, yoghurt Bhalla, dosa, bhattura with dap makhani, chunky chips & of course small amount of sweet😉

Business needs to start treating customers better, instead of everyone being a potential criminal. Every inch of the place is covered in posters reminding you to pay or with pictures of people they believe left without paying. Even in the toilets. no menus or price lists so final bill comes as a surprise. Table only available for 2 hours, and you're timed even when the place is empty. And apparently asking for drinks is completely inappropriate and the staff aren't able to do that. Food is average at best. Just go somewhere else, anywhere will treat you better

Great quality food and helpful staff

I visited the place and also eat food from Slice of India, every staff member said that all food Halal except mashmellow, but at the end when I asked for the Halal certificate, then the person at reception told me that we have no certificate on the name of Slice of India, we have certificates for our suppliers. I suggest to every Muslim, not go to this restaurant because it is not halal.

Everything on the menu tasted amazing. There is a stir fry station where you get to pick what will go into your meal.As someone who experiments with food all over the world, I was in awe at the spread and the efficiency of the staff in getting us our drinks refilled. Note of warning: Please, make sure you go there with an empty stomach.

Free spacious parking, plenty of different selections of India foods - from starters, to mains and deserts, also catered to English dishes. I enjoyed all of the different dishes that were on offer. Free jugs of water, and were top up regularly,the waiter's/waitresse's were friendly and kept up with tablet service throughout. Well priced too. Will definitely be back again soon. Food choices were good Live cooking stations were good. Kebabs and pani puris were good too. Dessert selections were impressive I think jilebis ( recommended to me by a friend ) are available only on weekends. It was not there on a weeknight dinner Restrooms were not clean

We come here every month and wouldn’t go anywhere else because not only is the all you can eat food fantastic (in taste, quality, selection and freshness), which is super important, but the staff are very friendly and efficient too - and this really sets the restaurant apart from others.

I visited this restaurant today and, unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The food was a major letdown. The flavors were bland and lacked the authenticity I was expecting from an Indian restaurant. The spices, which are the hallmark of Indian cuisine, were either overpowered by an excess of salt or completely absent, making the dishes tasteless.The curries were watery and lacked depth. a sauce that tasted like it came straight out of a can. services and atmosphere are good. Not even one dish taste like an Indian food. they are provided a food in the name of Indian dishes. Totally disappointed. Only British peoples were come to this becoz they haven't tried Indian food before if you ever tried Indian food don't go to this place.

Food was good. We ordered food for 50 people. But the quantity wasn’t sufficient. In fact seems like food was only for 40-45 people so there was very less quantity of food given. It was so embarrassing for us in function as there was not enough food to eat. After catering they mentioned will check with the kitchen and get back to us but they didn’t even contacted and as I was expecting the little amount of refund.

Love a slice of India 🇮🇳 Popped in for a birthday treat for the wife with the kids. Good all round selection of different dishes catering for all tastes. I started off with a plate full of goodies, poppadoms, onion bhaji, naan bread, kebab. It was a decent bit of fodder let me tell ya. 2nd plate went with some noodles and sweet and soya chicken. 3rd plate I went for a plate of chips, proper fluffy gungey chungy chips beautifully made. 4th plate were desserts, I went with a couple of éclairs, ice cream and the apple crumble was top drawer! And the last plate........only kidding I was stuffed, last stop was the lavatory! Couldn't comment on the curries as I didn't try them I had a reet sweat on just with the sweet and sour chicken. Till the next time slice of India.......party on!

Buffeet Restaurant. I bit expensive. Lot of parking. Food is basic quality. Live cooking but not much. Dosa was good. Rest of dishes were not the best. Hall is good size. Interior is reasonable. If you live locally, at least visit once.

Overall food is average which reflects the cost, been many times over the years because it is good value for what is available many choices so always satisfied, my only negative observation is staff are constantly watching you , as soon as you have finished the plate is removed , i think it is more appropriate to wait until everyone at the table has finished their meal obviously they are under instructions from management to clear tables immediately and to push sales of drinks, in spite of everything we will return soon. Me and my wife visted 1st time here. And it was very worst experience. The food was pathetic and cold. And there staff service was poor like the didnt listen us. We were going there to celebrate our special eid day but they ruined our special day. My wife didnt eat anything due to cold and pathetic food and we requested to refund but they didnt give any response

What a lovely place! The outside of the building really doesn't give much away and for my first time going here I was skeptical as the outside of the building just looks like the industrial unit that it is. But inside the places a lovely atmosphere and modern decor. The staff are so polite and friendly. We had accidentally booked one person less and there wasn't enough room on the table we had allocated but they moved us easily with no hassle. The food selection for kids and adults is great and there is something for everyone as I am not a huge fan of spicy food. The buffet is always full and you never have to wait for any of the dishes. It was pleasantly quiet for a Sunday lunchtime but I can imagine during peak time you would need to queue for the food. Max 2 hours at your table which isn't bad and the refillable drinks are a great idea! Will definitely be recommending!

We visited for the 1st time. Was my daughter's 18th birthday meal, and this place was of her choosing. We was not disappointed at all, the welcome received from the staff upon entry to the cooks and waiters throughout. Very professional, the staff couldn't do enough. The chefs were fantastic and so knowledgeable, I was asking various questions about different cooking techniques and spices and they were more then happy to answer. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice freshly cooked Indian, chinese or kids section meal. With lots of desserts, salads and fruit. Great venue. Thank you for making the event special.

Food was really good, some staff were not very happy and made you feel like you were an inconvenience to them and the place was quite noisy which you would expect as a lot of children but overall as a party of 20 the place was great for a good night out.

Should be renamed "Slice of Anglo Saxon India"! The food was below average in standard an and International Culinary delight "Paneer" was absolutely butchered! "Paneer" should be soft and practically melt in your mouth but was was served very dry. Our Party of 7 was charged £123 and we could have truly enjoyed Authentic Indian cuisine for half this price. This food is more acceptable to Anglo Saxons not true blood Indians!

Anywhere that caters for such a large amount of people en masse will be restricted to some degree in the quality it can offer. Here it is blatantly obvious that the focus is the bums on seats rather than the food on offer. Starters were dry and bland. Curries lacked meat and were mainly gravy, plus a couple of bones. Naan was bland, and the staff were touching them with their bare hands. Desserts were reasonable if a bit sorry looking. Overall, a poor experience. We won’t be going back.

The place provides a good option for delicious Indian cousins. This includes starters: Onion bhajji, crispy potatoes, chili mushroom, paneer tikka in Vegetarian dishes. It provides Pani-puri, dahi vada, samosa, spring roll, vegetarian pizza and other items. The masala dosa- Chole bhature are prepared live. Even noodles are served and prepared as per your own taste. The main course has options like naan, paneer sabji, chawal- daal fry, daal makhani and others. Dessert included Cakes, ras malai, cham cham, jalebi, ice cream with chocolate fountain and fruit plate including grapes, water melon. The place has huge capacity to hold but an advance booking is recommended. The charge per person is based on height basis for 2 hrs.

The worst Indian food we had ever they don’t serve any sea food even if they advertising gold coat prawns etc and all the Indian dishes we tried was with out taste at all.i am cooking better chicken curry that restaurant shouldn’t called Indian restaurant because the chefs don’t have a clue what they doing .they want you to pay 19.99 per person and if you want to order the fresh noodles the only option you have for prawns the are the tiny one the using for fishing 🤬 with out taste at all.we NEVER go back again we waste our money 👎👎
