Food is delicious. However, there is an older gentleman who can be quite short with the younger staff, but they are actually quicker and generally give a nicer service that he does

Medium steak was overdone but when this was pointed out we were adequately compensated. Otherwise meals were to their usual standard

Absolutely beautiful food, it's a nice sort of hidden place but it was slightly cold. But we will definitely return as the food was so good

Outstanding restaurant, we very much enjoyed our lunch on Saturday 16th March, So much attention to detail! Food made flawlessly and served on the most beautiful crockery that is handmade by the owner! Service was professional, friendly and went above and beyond for us, Proper skillfull artisan venue. I highly recommend to everyone and have been thinking and talking about it to everyone since.

We had a booking on Saturday night at 8:15. As we are not local, the drive to the place was a bit dark for us on a rainy day. We were warmly welcome. We were truly happy with the food quality. The only drawback was the waiting of 70 min for all the food to come and it was quite late for desserts. We might try next time

Not often I give a spot that had me waiting for maybe 45 minutes to a hour for a main course that came luke warm 5 stars but with the apology we received this place deserves it. You can tell the effort put into the food by the chefs and even though it wasn't the warmest - the flavours were 10/10. Interesting spin on the food as well, venision sausage roll as well as the black pudding mousse, great ideas. Great beer. Nice cocktails and the waiters were a bit of craic to. Got us sorted a better table when the main room was booked out due to my girlfriend disapointed. When I got the bill I couldnt believe the value. Miniature desserts arnt that miniature. The same size as other places but a smaller bowl. Apple and pear crumble absolutely delightful. Couldnt fault it. Thank you.

Excellent lunch on Saturday afternoon. I’m a very picky eater and was a bit worried I wouldn’t like anything, but as my children have wanted to eat here for a while I thought I’d try to be more adventurous lol. I had nothing to worry about. The food was absolutely delicious - very flavoursome and well presented 😋. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent service 👌

Me and my husband went for a special menu, 2 courses for 20£. I can sadly say that since last time when we were here 2 years ago, the quality of food and service has changed to the worst. My mash was totally over salted same as pork and rib balls were salty too. My husband's venison burger was dry and over cooked. It was replaced by request and dessert offered. The dessert was very watery and simple. Also disappointed in the staff. The waitress never came back to us to ask for a drink or if everything was okay with food. I understand that the quality probably was a bit different because we didn't pay full price for food but after all, I was expecting better quality and service from the place with a good reputation like this. Thank you for free coffee and dessert.

Excellent in all respects. Very busy night and we were a table of 5 but we were very well looked after. Food was terrific.

So disappointed … overall I had the most amazing meal, smoked haddock starter and seabream main (told it was seabass), my daughter had the pigs cheek starter which was fab and for main the sirloin steak of the day - ordered ‘medium rare’. This was a bad choice. It came out ‘medium to well done’. We explained to the waitress the steak was not ‘medium rare’, and was overcooked. The waitress took it away promptly. Within 1 minute we got a new dish, my daughter sliced through the steak and it was definitely medium - I went to the reception area and quietly explained to the manager that the steak was for the 2nd time not cooked as per our order. It was taken away immediately, and the same dish returned by the manager within a minute stating the chef said the steak was ‘medium rare’ (see image attached). We were advised by the manager to order ‘Rare’ the next time. I was shocked by this response. such a pity, I did not expect this response from such a fine dining establishment. So disappointing as the service from the waitresses, 2 young girls and a young bar Waiter were both fantastic!

This is a great place for a special occasion and is so tasty Eating out os generally more expensice these days so I think the cost is worth it compared to other places of lower quality and similar pricing

Beautiful family meal for a special occasion in an incredible place! Sleepy Hollow used to be the McCauley family farm (on my mother's side) and there was something of amazing significance in visiting for this special occasion (big birthday) and eating in rooms named after Great Great Grandparents! The added blessing was that the food was incredible, the building stunning and the service so very warm and personable. Thank you to the team and thank you to the owners, it's a truly special place.

ジャイアンツコーズウェイからベルファストへの帰り道、アイルランド島旅行で最後に行ったレストラン。17:45の予約で来店すると、店内は既に満席。元日ということで特別メニューでした。私は前菜にムール貝とタラのチャウダー、メインはその日の魚料理にしました。前菜の味付けは少し濃いめでしたが、メインの魚料理はフランス料理風のソースがかかった上品な味付けで、とても美味しかったです。2コースで￡28。キッズメニューは3コースで￡15でした。ロンドンで食べたら1.5倍しそうな内容の料理でした。他の家族は肉料理を頼みましたが、量は多く、一皿に3種類程の料理が盛られており、飽きずに楽しめたようです。 私はデザートの代わりにCafe Royalというコーヒーにブランデーと生クリームが乗ったカクテルを頼みました。2日前に飲んだIrish Coffeeに勝るとも劣らない、深い味わいでした。 家庭的なサービスもとてもよかったです。

Beautiful surroundings, attentive staff, although they did forget to bring my wine and superb food- outstanding.

Rarely get bad food here. Starter was changed from pig cheeks to fried pork... dry as a bone and no sauce, the cod was not seasoned. Main venison loin, magnificent but gratin totally unseasoned and couldn't be bothered. Deserts brilliant except bread and butter Xmas pudding... disaster, was like eating wet bread.... service always brilliant, I mean we had an early reservation to make sure nothing was sold out... wife loved the pork main so not all was lost!

A real hidden gem. Food is incredible and the staff are friendly. I brought my 3 week old and they let us bring our pram next to the table (which was so awkward for them serving other tables) and found somewhere more private to breastfeed. The baby needed feeding in the middle of the meal and when I came back they had put my dinner under a heater in the kitchen to keep it warm. Best spot in Northern Ireland for Sunday roast.

No heat….definitely needs heat to be on Food and plates only lukewarm. My wife had to send her meal back as her broccoli was literally like salad ( touch cold)…my food was acceptable but got cold very quickly as the plate and restaurant was cold. Desserts …we ordered 2 each , we got 2 between us and the restaurant openly admitted it’s their fault . Was always a diamond in my eye that’s slowly becoming cubic zirconia…..food is only good if attention paid to detail.

My wife and I went to the Sleepy Hollow based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The meal was outstanding in taste and presentation. The service was excellent. The dining room was quiet and comfortable where the hard of hearing can easily carry on a conversation.

My partner and I love going to Sleepy Hollow, and do so about 6 times a year. In the past the food has been spectacular....not last night. After a 50 minutes wait the main was served and all looked well....within a few bites we were both questioning what had gone wrong, there was a blandness that we felt sad about. Genuinely we have enjoyed every flavoursome mouthful every time but not this time. The staff are attentive as usual but knowledge of a particular main's elements was actually wrong. We've now questioned a return for a while and hope the high standards return in 2024.

Very nice food presented well and very tasty. Service was a little dis jointed maybe new staff... All very polite and willing to help. Just seemed that they were a bit lost.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with the family. The food was excellent. The children’s menu is particularly good, they make proper meals for the kids, not just standard party food. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Will be back.

Such reasonable prices for fantastic food

Had not been there for a few years, and when you walk into the hall way it resembles a waiting area for a take way, with a row of seat and grubby floor. The reception area is cluttered with armchairs that you can't sit on as there is no space and a chair with a broken back which had the wood sticking out. The staff are ok, but the male waiter was very loud and some what overbearing. The food was just ok, not really hot, and I felt it was very overpriced. Also the carpark is dark and the walk way uneven. As we were leaving the lights on the ground lighting up the building are blinding and you could easily trip and fall. Wont rush back which is a shame.

The best place I've been in for a good while. A great overall experience and my vegetarian dish showed care and imagination, which is so often lacking. Recommend it.

Lovely food. Good selection on menus. I had sirloin of beef and husband had turkey. Well presented. Staff very friendly and pleasant. However we were put in a room with a large noisy party. Would have liked a quiet room.

A party of around 12 of us, five of them children, booked in for Sunday lunch today. As always, the food was great, the staff were courteous and professional and everything went smoothly. This is a cosy, family-friendly yet intimate restaurant and is highly recommended.

First time diner at Sleepy Hollow. Great reuse of old vernacular buildings and great food, well presented with genuine friendly and attentive service. Great buzz about the place and don't leave without tasting their own Leaping Lamb ale.

Very disappointing experience. Have been multiple times previously and had great experiences but recently went for dinner with my family including very young baby. The man at the front desk was so rude about having a pram with us- apparently it was a “particularly big pram”, we were chastised repeatedly and made to feel very unwelcome. I would have walked out if my parents hadn’t travelled so far for the meal. If you do not have room for an average sized pram in your restaurant then there are too many tables squeezed into it! Emailed to complain about the experience but received no response. Will not be back.

My husband saw it named on the Internet and booked for Sunday lunch . Not an extensive menu but the food was superb. You could get 1,2 or 3 courses. Could not resist the turkey dinner and the flavours in it were fantastic. The dessert s came as mini ones which ment you could have a taster of more than one. Staff were very friendly and helpful . Never having been in this area before it was easy to find, a very quaint place.

Wanted to take my elderly mother for a catchup meal so decided on 'Sleepy Hollow' as I've always been delighted when I've visited couple times few years ago. From when we arrived on a very rainy night manager showed us to a very comfortable table. Mum was delighted and manager even took her raincoat and walking stick. Sophie an amazing friendly young lady ran me and mum through menu all very informative. She was brilliant. Mum and I decided on Scallop starter between us. Totally DELIGHTFUL..feel like we should've ordered one each it was that nice but my wee mummy isn't a big eater. Mum had brisket and steak combo and I had salmon special along with delicious cheeky side of cauliflower cheese. Everything was fresh and beautiful. Then our trio of deserts were fabulous. Chefs clearly know what they r creating at Sleepy Hollow. Thanks to u all at Sleepy Hollow. 🥰🥰

My wife and I have coming to this restaurant for a number of years. We took our mother-in-law as a thank you for looking after us very well before we return to Aberdeen. We were expecting great things. Unfortunately it didn't happen. The starters arrived. Who ever sends out whipped goat's cheese without bread? I had scallops. Two scallops the size of thimbles. More heritage tomatoes than scallops. They were lacking seasoning. The mains took about 30 minutes. My lamb was really good. Unfortunately, my wife ordered steak and rib combo and asked for the steak to be medium to well. It was dry with no pink. My mother-in-law ordered catch of the day and told the waitress that she didn't like courgettes. She was told it would be served separately. It wasn't. The cavalier Nero cabbage was overcooked. We conveyed this to the older waiter who apologised. We figured that the desserts could be screwed up. My oat milk pañnecotta was nice but I got to the bottom of the jar it was served in there was still gelatine that had not dissolved properly into the milk. My wife's lemon meringue was decidedly average with the meringue not being set properly due to the sugar syrup not being added the whipped egg whites at the appropriate temperature. The coffeed appeared and dumped on the table. The espresso which my wife had was cold. When I complained to Robert at reception whilst paying he made rather feeble excuses about it being a Saturday night. If you can't cope with 150 customers, don't be greedy. With the prices charged it needs to be consistently good. We have always included Sleepy Hollow as a must visit. I would be very reluctant to return Not having to pay for the desserts and coffee does not compensate a disappointing evening. Must do better!

Unbelievable food as always. This place never disappoints. We went tonight for the tasting menu and weren’t disappointed. Every course just got better and can’t wait till the next time. See u in few weeks.

What a treat this place is. Had lunch with friends who had been before. New to us. We had starters of salmon, goats’ cheese and chicken pate and they all went down very well. There are so many flavours in the food and it is cooked with care and thought. I had turkey for dinner and it was really beautiful. We had a variety of the little desserts and again they were enjoyed by everyone. I’m so glad our friends suggested here and I look forward to going back.

It's with regret that I pen this review as had heard great things about this restaurant and was thoroughly looking forward to dining here. Rewind 2mths when I made my booking - no problem with booking process but was advised that seating may be limited due to the restaurants Monthly Dining Club meeting. My booking was processed and email confirmation recieved. Fast forward to yesterday, 6 days until my booking reservation and was rung by restaurant to say they could not honour my booking as they were fully booked due to their monthly dining club meeting and the fact that their '3rd party booking system' had gone down. I was informed that they could not understand how I was able to place a booking in the first place and no mention of an apology for my inconvenience caused.

First visit to this lovely restaurant. First impression was not that good having been in the food industry I tend to notice things perhaps a tat more than some. I decided to crack on as I was hungry. The food was excellent and the staff fantastic and attentive. We will definitely visit again on e we've saved up enough😂😂. For the 4 of us it came to £137 we each had a 3course meal, 2 coffees and 2 soft drinks which I though was expensive however the food was delicious. I though the decor was slightly tired and I noticed spider webs all around. The roof windows were filthy and wouldnt take a lot to clean. I always think that if a restaurant is loved it will be clean. The webs and windows made me constantly wonder in the back of my head what the kitchen and food prep area was like.

I had lunch with a friend here today - we had a delicious mean followed by very yummy miniature deserts. Service was excellent and outside table was a bonus as the weather was lovely.

Just had my beloved at the sleepy hollow for a birthday treat and what a treat it was.Nothing has changed which is fantastic as the standards are still at the very top level.Service is first class, food is to die for. I can highly recommend the scallop starter and the rib of beef with rib eye. A particular favourite of mine. Rib of beef is just fantastic.Ju had the special which was sirloin and the all trimmings. She reports back that this was excellent also.Anyhow just a note to let everyone know the sleepy hollow is still at the very top of its game.John and ju

First visit with family, staff very friendly and meal was excellent! Table for 6 booked @ 16.15 young waitress who looked after us was fabulous! Would definitely return.

Upon arrival we were met with a rather grumpy male member of staff I can only assume was Management, quite rude and dismissive to be honest. I’m sure there are customer service courses available to attend. We were shown to table and given menus, straight away asked for drinks order , we asked for a few minutes to look at the drinks menu , felt under pressure to order,Eventually ordered a bottle and served it by same Grumpy man, wasn’t properly chilled., wine list pretentious and over priced. Told the specials but no mention of prices of same.Food orders taken by very chatty waitress, food presentation very good, crockery not practical, chipped and too many rough edges to harbour dirt.Main courses served by grumpy man no pleasantries just announced steak !! No question as to whether we required anything else, glasses lifted by another waitress towards end of meal felt as if they thot we would be stealing them lol, Very dissapointed won’t be returning I think Sleepy Hollow is falling asleep.

Been here a few times, though not been here for a while. We went for Sunday lunch this time. I thought the starter options were disappointing, so infact I didnt have one. Though, to be honest the main meal is more than enough to compensate. The roast beef dish looked excellent, as was the turkey with plenty of sides. The dessert selection was very good but eventhough they are miniature desserts the portion sizes have got distinctly smaller. The chocolate torte and treacle tart were absolutely minuscule. I would suggest going for desserts like crumble, burnt cream instead.

We have eaten in sleepy hollow many times and food is always first class, the restaurant does an early bird menu between 5-7pm, 3 course for £21.95, amazing value, however we visited earlier this week and they are not doing this early bird menu at present, 2 starters 2 mains, 1 dessert with tea and coffee was £75!,I asked why the early bird menu was not available and was told it was due to staffing problems but to be honest there was very little difference between the choices usually available and what was on offer this week.Really feel the removal of the early bird menu may be a way of the restaurant recouping money lost due to closure and the fact that the public are glad to be able to go out again. While the meal was very good I do not think it was worth the price charged so will not be returning until the early bird menu is available again

My Wife and I called today. 04/05/2021. What an amazing lunch. First time eating outside in the beer garden. Everything was in place and I have to say a very well done to all concerned in getting the outside ready for opening. Service as usual was top, and the food was wonderful. We had an amazing lunch. Thank you.

Cannot rate this place highly enough food is out of this world every time I have visited regardless of lunch or dinner. I wasn't too sure on this visit of what to have for starter and a lovely lady recommended the soup cant remember what it was as was a few months back but I wasn't too fussed in the sound of it she said to hold on a wee minute and came back with a wee taster and was thee most beautiful soup after that I took all her recommendions and wasn't disappointed. It can be a wee bit expensive but you get what u pay for and more. Lunch is less expensive and still get the same quality but such a lovely quaint place to visit for a treat. Staff are also the best so friendly and always willing to offer recommendions without sounding overbearing. Cant wait to go back

Can't speak highly enough about this super restaurant. Fantastic service from very friendly staff in lovely rural surroundings. Food choice great. I had the goat's cheese starter and we both had the roast turkey Christmas fare. Dessert a lovely duo. All perfectly rounded off with a classic chilled Chardonnay. A wonderful way to head into Christmas and a potentially long lockdown. Spring and a better 2021 beckon. Thank you to Sleepy Hollow for ending 2020 on a very positive note....

We were at the Sleepy Hollow yesterday for lunch. This was our first visit and will definitely return. The food was excellent, portion sizes were more than ample, presentation was excellent and staff were amazing. Well done Sleepy Hollow.

We were at Sleepy Hallow Restaurant yesterday evening. A cold October night with a warm, cosy welcome as soon as we entered. We got a quiet table with relaxing, peaceful music playing in the background, over the speakers. The whole experience was 100% from the friendly staff, lovely decor to the delicious meal. We had a coffee and main course. The service was excellent. Our meal was delicious as was the presentation, I took the photo after I had started eating. We were able to book a table online from their website and view the menu. Thankyou to all the staff who made our first visit so enjoyable we will definitely be back. Thanks Maggie & David

Travelled an hours drive just to eat here as I was treating my partner for a meal for his birthday . We both ordered the scallops for starter and waited 45mins before it arrived , when it did arrive it was lukewarm plus the portion was ridiculously tiny . It was beautiful to taste and I'd give 10/10 for presentation but it was really unfortunate we had to wait so long for it to arrive and when it did it was almost cold . We were so hungry we just eat it anyway we couldn't bare to wait anymore . We both ordered the rib eye steak for mains along with chips , onion rings and champ to share , we waited 25 mins before it arrived , the portion of chips was very small too so we ordered another portion .The chips and onion rings were full of grease . I had pre ordered a suprise birthday dessert on the open table app but because we waited so long for the starter and main i ended up telling my partner I pre ordered him a birthday dessert and we both agreed we wanted to just leave because we knew it would probably take ages to arrive . Wel not be returning as we feel really let down and disappointed.

First time dining at Sleepy Hollow last night. Absolutely delicious dinner.Beautiful cosy surroundings. Very friendly attentive staff. My husband really enjoyed the special home brew beer. Couldn't have chose a better place to go on our wedding anniversary. Worth the 80 mile round trip. Looking forward to going back in the near future.

My wife surprised me with a meal here for my 50th birthday. Super choice of restaurant. We both really enjoyed our visit. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. As was the food, beautifully presented and beautifully tasting. We had a couple of starters and then the beef which fell of the bone perfectly and a cracking steak sandwich went down a treat. Well done guys, compliments to the chef.

Excellent service, lovely atmosphere and superb food - just the same as always.This really is an excellent restaurant - certainly one of our favourites - and would highly recommend. My partner opted for the beef while I went for the fish - both beautifully cooked and presented. Desserts to follow and the only problem with them is knowing which to choose.Will certainly be back.

We called here on the off chance of getting a table for lunch. Staff were more than pleasant and helpful . The menu did not suit my palate and my companion is a vegetarian and did not like the option on the menu. We asked did they have a vegetarian menu - the waitress said no she would speak with the chef - she promptly returned with several options - including a beetroot dish which we both opted for - along with some chunky chips. The dish was delicious as were the chips - the staff went out of their way to ensure everything was ok. We then found room for the mini desserts - all were delicious. I can not recommend the food and the staff highly enough.

This restaurant is very close to me but I haven’t been in years. Had the most beautiful meal recently, scallops for starter (beautiful), ribeye steak, so soft & then 2 mini desserts. Really high quality food, we were served by a lovely young waitress. Definitely be back!

We haven't been in this restaurant for many years but taking advantage of the eat out scheme we decided to revisit. The only time available was for lunch (served up to 4 pm) so we took that. 2 courses for £16.95, 3 for £19.95. We opted for 2 courses, mains and pudding. My wife had beef and I had cod. Desserts are miniature and you can choose 2 as part of the deal.The meal was as good as any we have had in a very long time supplemented by very good service. The restaurant is small but beautifully presented and is highly recommended.We will be back.

Four of us enjoyed a delicious three course meal today in a safe, organised and clean restaurant. Staff were friendly and welcoming despite the restaurant being busy and the phone ringing every two minutes. Our waitress, Finn, wore a mask and was extremely professional yet friendly and very efficient.We were offered water as we viewed the menu on line. Unfortunately I didn’t get the name of the waiter who brought our food to our table. He was wearing a mask and was very attentive. He asked if we would like more water when he observed that we needed a refill. Many thanks to all for a lovely meal in as safe an environment as is possible during this pandemic.

Love, love, love this restaurant, best food ever, this is still my favourite place to eat, the food is soooooo good there is no conversation. I had the pork belly to start and my favourite pork platter for mains followed by 3 mini scrumptious desserts. I have reccomended this restaurant to lots of friends and it never fails to dissapoint. It is quality food at affordable prices. Compliments to the chef and to all the lovely friendly staff. Once time I've visited since lockdown and cant wait to return.Keep on doing what your doing.

Went today for lunch and very happy with everything. Excellent value for money with 2 courses for £16.95 or 3 for £19.95. Salt and pepper prawns and black pudding scotch egg for starters, both lovely. Beef and 'shepherds pie's for mains, again delicious. Mini desserts of salted caramel burnt cream and sticky toffee pudding...what's not to like!Service even with masks was excellent. As an aside...the most fabulous crockery I have ever seen, if you ever fancy selling it I would be first in the queue!

Firstly Id have to say the starters were pretty good, king prawn 'scampi' and black pudding quails scotch egg, tasted Good and we're well presented, unfortunately the mains were not as good. Steak sandwich was undercooked and fat was not rendered on it, most was left on the plate, waitress never asked if everything was ok. Pork belly mains was ok, a little more fatty than expected, but tasted good and looked good. The potato gratin was forgotten about, and when the waiter(manager?) went to take it to our table he saw that we were done and took it back to the kitchen without ever making it to the table hoping he got away with it. Plates were cleared with no mention of the missing side or the untouched steak. Had I have been asked about my experience, I would have given my feedback at the time, unfortunately I wasn't asked. Pretty poor service and we were only 2 of the 6 people there. Didn't want to risk a dessert and went to Asher's for a scone. Avoid.

Went for lunch today two courses £16.95 and three courses £19.95. My husband and I had the scampi prawn starter and my son had the chicken fritters Parmesan we really enjoyed the starters. We had the steak sandwich and my husband had the seafood chowder these dishes were beautiful. My husband and son had the duo of mini deserts the crumble desert was gorgeous. We had a lovely time and staff were very helpful service was great. The staff all wore masks and social distancing was in place. Would definitely be back well worth a visit.

Love love love this place our favourite by far food is amazing the tastes are unbelievable And the presentation of the food on plate is breathtaking. Fine dining at its best well worth every penny. Upon paying bill we always ask to be booked in again

What an amazing little hidden gem on the outskirts of Newtownabbey. The food was phenomenal. We had pigs cheeks and cod (surf and turf) and the sea bass! Oh my days, both courses were to die for! For dessert we had, choc pud and rhubarb panacotta. Delicious! We then finished our meal off with 2 Almond espresso martinis, perfection!We didn’t even realise Sleepy Hollow we’re taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme, so it was even better when we received £20 off our bill!Forgot to mention the incredible table service from a lovely young lad, he made our experience even better. Super!

We had such a wonderful time. Absolutely delicious food and super service. Can't wait to return again!!

My wife and I arrived and were guided through a sensible pathway to confirm our reservations and take our seats. This was our first meal out since covid-19 restrictions had been lifted. Having been here before, and experienced high quality food we were looking forward to our evening. Unfortunately our experience left a lot to be desired. Our food (two main courses) arrived after a long 50 minutes wait and was cold so had to be sent back. We eventually received a warm plate of food a further 15 minutes later. The quality of the food did not live up to our previous experiences here. Service was variable, the waitresses were great. The same could not be said for Terry the head waiter, who has an appalling attitude, and insulted my wife several times. We left Sleepy Hollow determined never to return or recommend it to others.

Attended for a meal for a friend's birthday. After getting no response via email or social media we eventually rang to check we could bring a cake, the person spoken to was rude and not very interested, but told us that was fine .when we arrived with the cake earlier the day we were attending, we were told it was not allowed. Some of our starters were good, some average (2 tiny scallops with an overcooked scotch egg!!)and very overpriced and same with mains. We waited over 20 minutes to order dessert which then took almost half an hour to be served to had to rearrange taxi's twice in that time. Desserts were very average. Have eaten in other restaurants similar to sleepy hollow with much better service and consistent quality of food from starters to desserts and friendlier atmosphere, with about 25% less cost. Needless to say we were disappointed and will not be back.

We booked for Sunday 12th July which was only day that suited the five of us. We were a little nervous as it was only few days opened after lockdown but the restaurant had all safety measures in place and we felt relaxed. We just love this place from the pleasant staff to the service to the presentation and of course the exceptional quality of the food. It’s fine dining at it’s best without the price tag. Because of Covid it was only just a Sunday menu which we were a bit disappointed about initially but the starters are just the same as normal menu and the Sunday menu was quite similar too. We had a mixture of starters which were delicious. 3 chose the roast beef dinner and loved it, I chose the pork which was to die for and my daughter chose the fish of the day which was sea bass and mussels... she loved it. I would highly recommend their skinny fries which r real potatoes cut in their jackets and they are delicious. We ordered to desserts to share which was more than enough not only were they presented so well but they tasted even better. So as you have read my post you can gather that we just love this little restaurant tucked away from the maddening crowd.

Starters: chicken fritters and black pudding scotch egg were good, although the egg yolk was hard in the egg (not a major issue). 7/10Mains: steak sandwiches. My steak was quite tough and about a third hard fat - disappointing. My wife's salad garnish was swimming in vinegar and inedible. Chips are delicious. No one checked in on us as we ate so we didn't have the opportunity to pass on the issues. 6/10.Desserts (2× minis): sticky toffee pudding, lemon and white chocolate (base was not great), pecan and burnt orange tart. 6.5/10 overall.Service was relaxed (which we appreciated given the covid situation). Food was average with ups and downs.

My son and I picked this restaurant from Opentable app and we are so glad we did! The food was absolutely outstanding and we cannot wait to go back. The service was excellent, food great value for money and lovely surroundings. I had the chicken and parmesan fritters, fish and chips and duo desserts sticky toffee pudding and burnt orange and pecan pie. My son had black pudding scotch egg, pork belly and duo dessert chocolate and the pecan pie. The desserts are mini and a perfect amount to finish the meal. I 100% recommend a visit.

Birthday lunch for my lovely lady and this is a must for such an occasion. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and food to die for.Started with the soup and it was delicious (my partner opted for the goats cheese panna cotta - just as good). andf then the braised rib of beef. To say it was tender and cooked to perfection would be an understatement - the meat just fell off of the bone. Mashed potato was smoother than the proverbial babies b.........Just one small comment, perhaps a little more garnish just to add a splash of colour.Will be back again and very highly recommend.

This is our local resturant and we do like the food. It is very relaxing and comfortable especially the snug upstairs where you can enjoy a drink. Presentation of food is always very professional and the staff are generally very attentive. The only thing that I would say if you are sitting opposite the entrance to the kitchen you can here all the staff chatting and messing about or discussing when their next smoke break is. I did ask to get moved to another seat but it didn't happen. Would not stop me going back But definitely would not sit there again.
