The food from skyway house is always delicious and good portions too. The house chow mein is on point.

Went for a stroll into burbage and followed a really lovely smell which was come and eat me ,really delicious

Crispy chilli Beef burnt. Almost to the point you were eating dried twigs. Horrible. Sweet and sour chicken balls …. Were not balls but sliced battered fillets. Soggy at best. Sorry Skyway house but that was just awful.

Dreadful service had salt and chilli king prawns and salt and chilli chips. Absolutely no chilli to it just had battered prawns then asked my son what his salt and chilli chips were like and said there’s was the same. Rang them explained they said bring the food back so son went back. Then he rung to tell me they were only offering to replace half of each of the orders so after complaining I agreed to just to get the food. Only for the my son to return with half the money as that’s how they make there food apparently! Even though had that dish from there before. Terrible customer service. The chicken balls have arrived before with batter still soggy as well twice but as just round the corner gave it the benefit of the doubt n avoided that dish. Won’t ever use again

I recently learned that there is a new chef at this takeout restaurant. Today, I ordered three dishes. The House Special Satay was incredibly delicious—the satay sauce was rich and fragrant, and the different meats were cooked to perfection. The Roast Duck was tender and smooth, and the Beef with Ginger and Spring Onion had a great combination of flavors; the ginger and spring onion were sautéed to perfection. I look forward to trying other dishes on my next visit.

Need to get better staff serving who write your order down correctly I have been twice lately and received wrong meal and overcharged won’t be going back

We have used this take away many times in the past and on the whole have been satisfied with what we have ordered. However, we recently had a take away and it was terrible. The egg fried rice was dry and crunchy; the crispy duck was like ground meat not pieces of duck; and the prawns were in an overly sweet sauce. I rang Skyway House to complain and was told sorry with no hint of offering for example a discount on our next order. There is absolutely no way we will have a take away from Skyway House again.

We have used this Chinese for 30years and was the go to place. It is now awful. Prices have gone up(I understand that and accept that) but portion size has gone down!!! But the worst of all yesterday we ordered 10 dishes and all of them only had a spoonful of sauce, which meant the dishes were very dry!! They have now lost a long standing customer.

Just had a meal, with Lemon chicken and Duck in plum sauce. By far the worst Chinese meal we’ve ever had. The lemon chicken was mainly batter and the duck was virtually all fat. Absolutely terrible and if I could I would have given it zero stars.

Have been a long standing customer of Skyway House but recently took a break from having Chinese takeaways. However tonight we decided to have one and our expectations were raised as it has been a few months since our last takeaway. What an absolute disappointment it was. Not sure what has changed at Skyway house since we last used them, but both dishes were really poor. The curry just tasted like pepper and the beef with green peppers and black bean sauce was virtually tasteless. The black bean sauce was hardly evident and the peppers were only partially cooked. The sesame prawn toast was definitely a smaller portion than I remember it to be, and the texture and taste suggested it had been warmed up from the day before. Rice was okay, I'll give them that. Let me know when y0u get a new chef and I might come back. In the meantime I'll be trying elsewhere.

Extremely disappointed. 2nd meal since the refurb and both meals overloaded with large chunky carrots. Seem like trying to fill the portion cheaply. Now the main reason for the negative review....... Halfway through my already disappointing meal I felt a metallic click in my mouth, and joy of joys I found a large drawing pin . I rang to complain and was offered another meal or a credit. As I will never use this place again (have been for over 40 years), I asked for a refund. The meal for 4 came to £33 and the delivery driver brought round £9.60 !!!!! This place is now being reported to the environmental health department, and has lost our custom forever.

Food was dry and fairly tasteless. My dad found a rusty boardpin in his meal so obviously asked for a refund and received a pittance back. Would not buy again.

Second time I’ve ordered since the refurb. The prices have increased by at least 10% and yet the portion sizes have decreased massively. Great taste but hugely disappointed as it was one of the most expensive Chinese takeaways beforehand. Very disappointing.

King prawns in chilli and garlic. Massively overloaded with chilli. Not enjoyable at all.

Our go-to Chinese! Been to other places but never as good as Skyway House :)

Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls, arrived 90 minutes later, they were clearly cooked at least 2 days earlier as they were dry, crispy on the outside, dry on the inside. Absolutely awful. Threw them away. Phoned to talk to them an all I got was “I’m sorry but you’re breaking up”. My call didn’t break up when they took my order.

Skyway house taking a mickey out of local customers by selling them foul, low quality food, badly cooked,,looks awful and smell funny.I dread to think about their food hygiene standard. Staff is totally unfamiliar with the concept of " customer service " or" customer first "All they care to take your money. Cash preferable, for which they don't care to provide a receipt. I bought two course meal. which I had to take back, it was inedible, absolutely foul. Skyway staff refused even to acknowledge my concern, they simply ignored me when I asked my money back. Shockingly nasty attitude to customers, all they want - your cash.I have never experienced such attitude to me as customer in this country. I dont know how people trust this takeaway, with such poor quality of food and non - existent customer service Anybody with a good palate or self-respect , please stay from Skyway Chinese takeaway, your taste /smell senses will be insulted ,you will be disappointed if not outraged with their attitude, What a terrible place, what an awful experience. I shall never set foot there again.!!

The Skyway House was the go-to place for Chinese takeaway, but under new management there has been a gradual decline in the quality of produce and service offered. Collection times are very inaccurate as of late (+15-20 mins waiting time), and once ready the food is never that warm? Our last order contained pork instead of chicken - The management were rude on the phone, denying that a mistake had been made. In the past, this would have been resolved with a simple apology and a replacement dish may have been sent out. Very disappointed, cannot recommend.

Just moved to the village and tried this place tonight, prawns were raw and still white, portions were tiny and generally really poor, tasteless and a complete let down! Never again!

Me and my fiance love this takeaway. Local to us, great choice on the menu and despite the mixed reviews, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

What has happened to this take away!!! Bring back the old owner's !!!

Sweet and sour prawn ball excellent, as was crispy fried beef , chip crunchy and well cooked, good spring rolĺs and hot and sour soup. Really decent overall

We used to love skyway and even to the point when we moved out of Burbage I’d still travel to Skyway just to have their food. When we moved back to Burbage we tried Wok Express one night which wasn’t closer to us and was just as nice as skyway to started to use there. On the occasions we have tried skyway including last week, the food was salty, dry and tasteless and the prawn crackers are obviously bought in and not made on site. We won’t go back to Skyway the menu has been thrown away and we will stick to Wok Express where the food tastes just like Skyway used to!

Not as good as it used to be... Pretty disappointed food is always greasy now but it still tastes OK... Shame so expensive

Food was okay. The attitude of the staff is very poor. And please take the young boy that sits behind the counter home. Very sad to see the amount of time he spends behind the counter. I would recommend stars in Hinckley instead. Much friendlier and better food.

You need to deliver to Sapcote. It's only a few minutes trip and probably closer than the other side of Hinckley. Disappointed

Amazing food, best Chinese dishes in the area, keep up the good work

Food for 4 people was ordered and it was delivered within 40 mins. It was all excellent with the Sweet and Sour Chicken outstanding. Without doubt this meal was unchallengeable value for money.Just one complaint, in this day and age they really should take credit cards.

For 20 years the Skyway House had a fantastic reputation and was THE go-to place for takeaway food but its' new management have destroyed all that. We've had awful food on three occasions now. Believing the first time, and then the second, to just be blips but no, the food is really poor. A great shame but not even worth trying.

My sister ordered a takeaway from here of Spring Roll, Chicken in Black Bean Sauce, Egg Fried Rice and Prawn Crackers.I chose to have a single spring roll and it was massive, but it was jam packed with goodness and lightly fried to perfection.The rest of my meal was divine and meant it was a very filling meal !.This is somewhere I would recommend !

Decided to give them another try , new management has taken over and it has gone down faster than falling off a cliff, they got our order wrong. When I called she said you must have ordered the wrong thing , refused to do anything about it and hung up, my husband drove back and they were on the phone with another customer making a complaint , food is average at best and expensive , save your money and drive to better in Hinckley

Had a quick meal and to be honest it was expensive enough before the new owners bumped up the prices in a new menu.Had the yuk sung starter at £5.60(!!!) - it was coated and swimming in soy sauce - infact all dishes were swimming in salty soy liquid. No veg in the yuk sung - well there might be but difficult to tell from the cheap pork meat in the dish. Very disappointing.No sauces given with starters that come with them everywhere else.We went because it was local - next time we’ll go to our usual further afield.Won’t be back.

We had family round and went to order Chinese from Skyway House as Usual. We were a little trepidacious having seen the recent negative reviews, however we ordered for collection and the food was ready,on a Saturday, in 20 minutes. It was really excellent quality and very tasty, the equal of any previous order in the last 3 years since we have been using this place.

This place has suffered big time from a change of ownership, we have used this place for many years until recent ownership change. The quality of the food has gone from being very good to very poor. It is unrecognisable to where it was previously. The servers are polite and attentive but that's where it ends. Sad but true.

Really used to love this place it was our regular on a Saturday evening but since the new owners have taken over it’s gone down hill rapidly the food is very salty also

We had never used this Chinese before but the one we normally used the phone was constantly engaged so my husband said why not try Skyway House, we ordered duck with pancakes and 2 house special curries, the man taking the order did say it was about an hours wait for delivery as it was a very busy Saturday night but that was fine, it didn't bother us, I prosumed everywhere was busy as our regular Chinese was engaged for over half and hour before I rang Skyway House. Our food came around an hour after we ordered and I had just decided to look at some reviews on TripAdvisor about the Chinese, I started to read them and I was horrified I said to my husband I don't think this is going to be good.....

We had 10 people round tonight for a Chinese, the last of our guests were arriving just before 7:30 so we called the Skyway at 6pm to order the food and stressed at least 3 times when placing the order we wanted it at 7:30. We thought we would ring early to place the order to give them every oppurtunity to ensure the 7:30 deadline could be met. The food turned up at the door at 7:10pm which was 20 minutes before we requested it and 15 minutes before our guests were arriving. We rang to complain and were fobbed of with excuses of “we were busy so bought it when we could” this was totally unacceptable and we were offered nothing in the way of compensation for the very poor service. The total order came to £70, if we were told at any time the 7:30 time could not be met we would have gone to collect the food. We use Skyway on a regular basis and apart from the usual problems with comprehension when placing an order over the phone we have always been happy with them but after tonights debacle we not be using them again.

It’s once was the best Chinese around here but I’m afraid to say now it’s all gone down hill since the now owners took over , they told us that they was going to be keeping the same recipes as the previous owners but they lied, it’s nothing like the old owners, #BringBackTheOldOwners

We had a Curry from Skyway house on the 16/03/18 or what was supposed to be a curry........disgusting...all we could taste was salt,salt and more salt......my son had an takeaway on the 17/03/18 surprise,surprise...salt,salt and more salt.....why oh why ..will not be using again.

Gone down hill since new owners

Just decided to use Skyway House without knowing what it was like and we were very pleased witht the food. It was around 6:30pm on a Saturday so they were very busy, but the food came out on time. We had a 5 minutes walk home but the food remained hot. When we unpacked it everything was there and was very tasty, even the grandchildren demolished their plates and asked for more. Thoroughly recommended.

A very good local Chinese take away. Tasty dishes, not overly greasy, decent value and prepared quickly in what appears to be a clean and professionally run environment. Recommended.

Used this takeaway for years but past few visits particularly last night has convinced us never again. Poor food incorrectly cooked full of MSG, never had black Tom Yum Soup before and do not want to repeat the experience! The original chinese chefs would not have produced this food.

Consistently the best Chinese takeaway in the area and have been for years. If you've not had the crispy chicken with chilli and garlic then you've not lived.

I live just a few doors away from Skyway House - It is the best chinese takeaway for miles. I wouldn;t go anywhere else now I've found Skyway House
