I had a table booked in the sky bar. There was six of us. There was show on at the NEC and the people running the show would not let us into your car park. They had a coned off even though Castle coming out they still not would let us in. We should then we had a booking and even offered to phone you are with their spoiled our evening with her. I had a 10 minute walk from the car park. We had to go to and we’re late for our booking. You then missed a meal of our order and a bottle of wine .we will try you again but you need to sort parking out

Absolutely shocking. With 2 young children we waited almost an hour for our lunch. The kids were getting restless and then when chased, miraculously it came out. My eldest ordered a kids chicken burger but was given an adults one with coleslaw and chilli mayo….my husbands burger was cold as was mine. The youngest had a pizza and was lucky enough to have had that piping hot….what on earth went wrong? Front of house staff were amazing and were so apologetic but somewhere it fell down and we can only say that this was down the the kitchen staff. We aren’t a family that usually moan or have something to say when things go wrong but on this occasion we had to. We left feeling so deflated (and hungry!) but the manager came over and personally apologised which was appreciated. I’m sorry but we wouldn’t recommend and we won’t be back anytime soon.

We were ignored when we entered the restaurant. It was a scorching hot day so we went out onto the terrace , still no acknowledgment from the 3 staff who were chatting. There were no other customers. I went to the bar, they continued gossiping, I asked if we could have table service or if we needed to order at the bar. The young woman flatly stated that eating on the terrace was not possible and food would not be served outside but we would find menus on the tables.We came back inside and sat at a table, we looked at the menu and decided what we wanted but we must have been rendered invisible . We decided that this was totally unacceptable and left. Dreadful lack of courtesy!

Very disappointed, upset and embarrassed after calling the restaurant and pre ordering my starter and main to find that the restaurant didn’t adhere! I had to follow a specific “ white diet “ for the week before a hospital procedure, I ordered plain sourdough smoked salmon/cream cheese starter asked to keep off the dill and berries . The sourdough came with olives and tomatoes in it , so had to scrape off and leave the bread . My main was toast chicken with plain boiled rice , came to me with wild rice to which I sent back . It came back to me , waitress said chef said it’s the same ! I sent back as it is NOT the same , came back again saying it’s all they had … I asked to speak to the manager! Waitress came back saying the manager is sourcing the white rice , 30 minutes after my friends got their food mine eventually came ! At this point people in the restaurant were staring … the bill came and £4.75 was knocked off my meal 25% from the price of my main. If this had been an allergy there would have been serious repercussions! If I hadn’t noticed the bits in the bread and believed what the chef had said , the procedure I was booked in for 3 days later COULD NOT have gone ahead. I emailed the restaurant to be thanked for my “ feedback “ and they’d be in touch… to which they haven’t . So AVOID if any allergies or dietary restrictions as, in my experience , they’re ignored !!

Nice interior and the menu is reasonable but seems more of bar food to be honest the service was a bit chaotic we had many orders arrive at our table that were not ours and there was only the one waiting staff who was working off her feet to attend to us all whilst the other lady pretty much did nothing. Our drinks never came until our incorrect mains arrived at which point I had to call for the manager who was very apologetic and tried his best to make things right and did also make things better for us but really this could have been avoided. Food is quite good the cocktails are fair and the staff are lovely overall

Been going to the Manor House cafe for a long time but was very disappointed with today’s visit (06/11/2024). Whilst the food is still good they have brought in a new policy with the tea they serve. Instead of getting a pot of tea you now get a tea bag and a pot of hot water. Fair enough you might think. However when I asked why they were doing this, the answer was ‘people ask for more hot water and are therefore getting an extra cup of tea for free’. How petty and how bad for business. £1.95 is not cheap for one tea bag and a little milk. The staff should not refuse extra hot water (after all, they can’t refuse a glass of tap water) or begrudge an extra ‘free’ cup of tea to customers who are also spending a decent amount on food. I was not alone in my thoughts, several other people were making the same comments. Also, new cafes and coffee shops are opening all the time in Solihull so there is a lot more choice. The Manor House should not be alienating customers like this or they might find they will go elsewhere.

Walked up to The White Lion for an impromptu Sunday lunch today and had a great roast dinner at a decent price, plenty of food, piping hot and tasty! We will definitely be back!

Amazing breakfast was well cooked to perfection was the best I ever had friendly owner clean inside well decorated like old fashion and I love it I can recommend this place Mr. Wig. Youtube

Always top quality and great staff. Very welcomed and friendly service. Food, especially the wings are amazing. Will be returning very soon
