Though not far from the busier parts of Swansea this is in a semi rural area. It is a quality training venue with good staff and good atmosphere

We booked Sketty Hall 3 months ago for a 90th birthday lunch for 45 people in September. Arrangements were well underway. This was suddenly cancelled today as now there is refurbishment taking place! A lack of planning or just poor communication? Maybe it is going to close?

Absolutely brilliant as always. Despite other reviews, although this is owned by Gower College Swansea, it is not a training restaurant. It is an entirety commercial enterprise, and all the staff are hospitality professionals. I am a regular visitor and have been for 10 years.

Visited with a group of 57 persons with a club Seating table arrangements A1 group of 8 laid out suberbly. All had a main meal with dessert served promptly and very hot had the beef it was to die for other meals were chicken and fish. The desserts were also of a high standard The staff were great bey obliging This is a training place for young persons in the catering industry All A1 recommended

We went to sketty hall for a business meeting which included dinner lovely building in its own grounds fantastic service we had a pre set menu which was faultless

This is used as a training ground for people who want to work in the hotel business. It is a nice, old building in extensive, attractive grounds. The parking is substantial and includes well-sited disabled slots. Access to the building for wheelchairs is excellent but disabled toilets are limited. The place is a good one for a meeting with friends and they serve impressively plated sandwiches (with varied sides of salad and crisps) that can be noshed in the bar.

Brilliant surroundings, helpful staff, good selection of drinks at the bar, would go again on my own.

If you’re looking for an over priced Christmas lunch in a 1970s setting this is the place for you. The decor hasn’t been updated since 1972 and it held all of the promise of ‘residential care home’. With no nod to Christmas apart from loud popular music blaring, I felt like I was in a sketch from The Fast Show. I understand this was opened by Rocco Forte as a centre of cultural and gastronomic excellence. I’ve had better service, food and ambience in a Little Chef. The rest of my family were in Quaglino’s paying £100 a head for great food and atmosphere. We paid £80 a head plus wine. Come on Wales, you can do better than this!

I have been to Sketty Hall on a few occasions and had the Jacket potatoes and they have always been goo value for money and tasty. I went recently and tried the sandwiches and was very disappointed, you get 3 slices of packet sliced bead, the butter was about 2 cms thick the beef was nice but the whole sandwich was spoiled by the spread of horseradish sauce which was watery and so much of it it was running out of the sandwich. I dissected it and just ate the beef, it comes with a side salad and crisps and had it been palatable would have been good value for money. I would like to see just 2 slices of a good quality bread used with a good quality horseradish sauce also just a scraping of butter. I understand it is under new management and will return to see if improvements have been made.

The food has definatly improved at Sketty hall ,the presentation of the meals was lovely and the food was excellent.

A family anniversary lunch for 20. We had a very elegant room with French doors to a patio area idea for children. The food was lovely a set menu and the staff were very professional and friendly and couldn't do enough for us it made it into a very relaxed enjoyable afternoon.

We love sitting in the gardens and having a glass of wine and a sandwich. Andrew who served us was so helpful. A very pleasant boy. He was Very professional. The grounds are delightful on a sunny day. We usually have our dogs with us and water is always provided for them . They serve the best sandwiches in the area. I

Visit Sketty Hall regularly. It's a lovely place to go for lunchtime sandwiches and a drink. The surroundings are lovely so peaceful and looking onto Singleton park. The staff are so nice and helpful especially Andrew who is very professional and obviously enjoys his work. The sandwiches and welshcakes we had were lovely. I would highly recommend.

Came to Sketty Hall for a family party. Was sent a menu by the family member organising the party which had no vegan options for me so I emailed the hall directly and they very kindly sent the me a three course menu with three options for each course. 😁 Lovely food and good service on the night in a lovely setting

I was in a party of 45 guests celebrating a birthday of a family member, The welcome at Sketty Hall was warm and sincere. The meal was superb and well served. Consequently the atmosphere was one of happiness and complete enjoyment in which the staff at Sketty Hall played an important role

I visited here recently with a large group and had a 3 course meal. It was very nice, I had the sea bass for my mains which was excellent. I had 2 large pieces of fish & the beans that accompanied it were really nicely cooked. I was also impressed by the service of the waiting staff. It was good value for money, I would be interested in trying the Sunday lunch.

We chose to meet up here as it was half way between our family abodes in Cardiff and Pembrokeshire, but it was also our wedding venue 13 years ago. Needless to say, it was as good as ever.

Been here quite a few times for events and Sunday lunch, and they never fail to impress. The staff are friendly and very attentive, and the food is always top quality. I will definitely be coming back as often as possible. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here! From the very pleasant welcome by the manageress (?), to the lovely surroundings, to the really tasty food! Good menu choices, excellent portion sizes, and very attentive and professional service all round. Couldn't fault it. Very relaxing, not at all rushed. Good veggie choice and nice childrens menu too. The only negative for me, which was nothing to do with the wonderful staff on the day, was that it was a shame to see that some of the gardens need a bit of TLC-not half as pretty as they used to be. That's just external, however. Would highly recommend for Sunday lunch!

This place is unsurpassable for Sunday lunch. The waiting staff are friendly and professional, the selection, presentation and taste of food excellent and the surroundings super. We will definitely be back.

Este es uno de nuestros favoritos de la familia. Ubicación encantadora en una vieja casa de campo ubicado en preciosos jardines y terrenos. Asadas es imprescindible con una buena selección de cenas asado i. e. Cordero, ternera y Yorkshire pudines también opción vegetariana o peces. Puedes elegir un curso, dos platos o comida principal. El personal es muy amable y atento, nada es demasiado problema. Tengo movilidad reducida a los padres y este restaurante es muy acogedor, con un buen cuarto de baño en la planta baja. Myself and some friends parked at Sketty Hall as we where going for a walk with our young children around Singleton with the plan of going to Sketty Hall after for a coffee and to view the menu for future outings. After we parked, one of our party was chased after by a man (manager/owner?) and was told very rudely that she couldn't park in Sketty Hall. She was left a bit speechless by this mans attitude so went into reception to explain to the pleasant lady that we were coming in for a coffee after so could we park there. But she said no they were full and they had a funeral wake coming soon, which was completely understandable. Due to the mans abrupt manner Sketty Hall has lost some potential future customers. It would have been quite simple just to ask not to park there in a pleasant, dignified manner!

A large group of us visited Sketty Hall for an early Christmas celebration. This is now our third Christmas visit as a group , and our favourite place to celebrate. This year we were not disappointed and everything was exactly as we wanted . The food is to die for, beautifully presented and very well cooked. We have already decided to return in December this year too.

The no words I can say on here to how brilliant the staff was .The venue is beautiful .The food was amazing we had the beef it was the melt in your mouth tender.best beef I've ever had a lot of people in our party said exactly the same .It is the perfect venue made our wedding recption amazing .Thanks to everyone working there

I have eaten and been entertained at Sketty hall on numerous occasions and never been disappointed. The venue itself is set in lovely surroundings, has plenty of parking and the building itself is magnificent.Go and see for yourelf you wont be disappointed!

Viited yesterday for a meeting and stayed to enjoy a sandwich and wine. Set in beautiful grounds it was a very pleasant experience at a reasonable place.

This is a very pleasant building (former home of an FRS) virtually within Singleton Park. It has lots of lawns, trees and copious car parking (including mobility-impaired access). It has been used as a training location for hospitality and catering folk. Although it can be residential it is also a good location for conferences, receptions and dinners. There is also ample, comfortable seating locations both internally and external to the building. The staff are uniformly polite and friendly and the food are the bar provisions are produced quickly and of good ingredients (although the range is somewhat limited - Club sandwiches, Jacket potato with additions and Salads)

We travelled down from Merthyr Tydfil for sunday lunch with family living in Sketty from the moment we entered we were made to feel special ,plenty of room tables not squashed together meals beautifully presented and really tasty lemon tart was wow! we asked for some fruit as one of our party was diabetic and he was given the most beautifull dish of berries and apple (it really should be on the menu) well worth a visit

A stunning Georgian venue with lovely gardens and great interiors. I went to a wedding here on the 30th September 2016.The venue is very well maintained with lovely, classical interiors.The terrace and gardens are perfect on a sunny day, just leading off the bar area.The main room where the service was held is perfect fir a wedding, stately and classy.We later ate in the same room. The food was amazing...Hot, tasty with just the right amount.The staff were on the ball.Well recommended for a wedding or any other special occasions.The day flowed easily and like clock work.

We attended a friends wedding last weekend and found the venue very pleasant. It is a short taxi ride from the centre of Swansea . A small building with ample parking . There is a patio area to the rear which we utilised as it was a sunny afternoon. There is a pubic park which joins the rear so it is not totally private but as our function was on a Friday it was quite quiet. There are a lot of stairs to the toilets but there is one disabled toilet on the ground floor. The staff were smart and friendly.

Event music has been blaring since approx 8 pm this evening thankfully just stopped! Ignorance at its very best. Thank you...expect a report on Monday!

Had a private room for my mum's 80th birthday lunch. From start to finish it was absolutely faultless. The young staff were excellent - they are a credit to the place. Drinks outside by the Italian garden followed by superb food. The presentation of the dishes was first class and the goats cheese starter followed by a huge portion of roast beef was delicious. We had 21 in our party and everyone raved about the food.I can't praise this venue highly enough. It is a stunning place which is very well managed. Swansea you are very lucky to have Sketty Hall!

I went there with family for Sunday lunch and I had beef and I don't really like beef but it was very well cooked

A delicious meal, very good service in very pleasant surroundings. Altogether a very good experience which we look forward to repeating.

went to my son,s wedding reception there i was so dissapointed , toilets up stairs waiting staff with no personalty no smiles the prices on drinks were very expensive and the buffet that was served for the reception i thought was rubbish i must say sketty hall it self is lovely but that,s it i wouldn,t recomend it

Visited today for a sit down meal following a family event. What a lovely venue! Gorgeous surroundings, friendly and happy staff and well portioned, tasty food. Already planning a return visit with family!

Wonderful - a great location and first class service from start to finish. The food was the best that I've ever had at a wedding reception, with the guests having pre-ordered from a choice of 6 options chosen by the bride and groom. Suzette and her team were excellent, and I have no hesitation in recommending the venue for wedding receptions.

Nice lunch with friendly service. Food good although the three dessert choices were all rather stodgy for my taste. Mains were tasty but lamb only came well done. We were in a nice room but others looked a little plain. No wine list but wine was available at a limited choice. Enjoyed our visit but probably wouldn't visit again.

Booked at short notice,staff were really helpful.As a party of four we were all in agreement that it is the best Sunday lunch in Swansea!

We had an amazing time at Sketty Hall yesterday. My fathers 90th birthday celebration. 23 friends and family were treated to an exceptional experience. The food, the venue but especially the incredibly professional, friendly and efficient staff made the whole afternoon so enjoyable, one that we will never forget. A big thank you to all at Sketty hall and a special thank you to the impressive Suzette who did an amazing job of organising and supervising our celebration and for making it an absolute pleasure.

We had Sunday lunch at Sketty Hall (24/01) – always a great treat and booking is essential. The venue itself is a delight, formerly a mansion which fell into disrepair but has been restored to its former glory.I had smoked duck, my wife had prawns to start. Then we both had sirloin of beef which was excellent with a wide array of vegetables. For dessert I had apple & blackberry crumble with custard and my wife had a cheescake. We “retired to the lounge” for coffee. The staff were hard-working, very polite and pleasant. Suzette, herself is a terrific Sketty Hall asset.When the weather is nice the gardens and surrounding parkland add to this delightful place.

I just had my wedding here and the staff were incredible. They were helpful, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. I had one of their offers which included pretty much everything for the wedding and everything looked amazing. It's such a lovely venue. All our guests commented on how seamlessly the day went and how amazing the food was. They were all really impressed and several were planning to come back for Sunday lunch soon. The whole day was just amazing and that was entirely down to the staff and venue. I can't recommend them enough!

Booked on Saturday and staff couldn't be more helpful . Delicious food, good menu choice. Coffee in loung after food. No pressure to leave after meal.

We recently enjoyed a reunion dinner for 32 at Sketty Hall. The service was faultless - both friendly and professional. The bar area was just right for pre-dinner drinks and after-dinner relaxation. The dining room itself was perfect for our dinner.The dinner itself was excellent and the late arrival of one of our guest speakers, which meant the start time had to be delayed, did not faze them at all. This is the mark of a professional organisation.Sketty Hall is highly recommended for events similar to ours.

We celebrated a 90th birthday here with 30 attending, five being children having the Sunday lunch menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant the food was wonderful and the service excellent. This restaurant also has the advantage of being set in lovely gardens great for the children on a sunny summers day. This is one of the nicest restaurant I have visited in Swansea will be going there again that is for sure.

Sketty Hall is a beautiful venue for any event. Both myself and my partner really enjoyed the meal. There was a good selection of menu choices.The French Onion soup was very tasty.We had Beef as our main course and it was delicious, Melted in your mouth! Good selection of vegetables and plenty of gravy.The dessert was also to die for!The service was excellent, everyone was friendly, helpful and very efficient. Overall an enjoyable experience with top notch food and beautiful surroundings.

I attended the restaurant as part of a large function. The venue is very presentable and quaint and has great character. Aesthetically there was little to dislike.Issues came with the food.The beef was incredibly dry and the eton mess was a bowl of cream. Although effort is made to present the food well the taste fails to live up to expectation.I would strongly advise against eating here based on my experience.

Our first visit to Sketty Hall & it was a great success. A lovely Georgian mansion (with wonderful gardens) which is a wedding/conference/function venue during the week & a restaurant at Sunday lunch time. Suzette (the Manager) was so helpful & friendly as were the staff & the quality of the food provided very tasty & plentiful. Very good value (ranging from £11.95, £15.95 & £19.95 depending on the number of courses). You will probably need to book as it didn't seem that there was a spare table. This is an ideal venue if you need disabled parking & easy access. The bays are right outside the front door and there are no steps to negotiate inside. We had no complaints at all & will certainly be returning.

A lovely Sunday lunch, beautiful food. The staff were attentive without being 'in your face', and the place is charming.

We were at a sad event which was the funeral of a family friend. The event was managed sensitively and the food provided was exceptional. Service was very good

We decided last minute to eat here for Sunday lunch to celebrate our Anniversary. The hostess said that she would squeeze us in to a fully booked restaurant which filled us with thoughts of sitting too close to other customers but on arrival we were pleasantly surprised with our table which was far enough away from other diners to be private. From a choice of starters, I ordered King Prawns and my husband went for the French onion soup followed by Beef and Yorkshire pudding with side of cauliflower florets, beans and carrots. The meal was deliciously outstanding! We were too full for desserts but other diners were enjoying them and there seemed to be a fair selection. We had coffee and mints. The meal came to less than £40 which was fair considering we had wine and soft drinks too. The house is set in grounds which host beautiful gardens which were well kept, the house itself is stunning and although a little tired the original decor was very impressive. The staff were extremely helpful and obviously work really hard to provide very good service.

I have eaten here 3 times in the last 18 months and what a marvelous place. Great value food In a beautiful location with second to none service. One downside sometimes it is difficult to get a booking as the place is not open normal restaurant times but worth the wait!

Sketty Hall is the family's venue of choice as the service is very good, food plentiful and tasty and we are able to have a discrete area for about 30. We had a large party on Sunday July 27th and the standard was, as usual, high. The staff were attentive and the food was of the usual high standard. There was a small issue which could have been improved with better communication. We were asked to clear the room for another party at 16:30 which mean that we had to move to another room. If we had been told of this earlier, we would probably have started a little earlier and speeded up the proceedings. Overall though, another very good event.

Visited for a relatives birthday, and this was my first time here. Food, soup for starters and a traditional Sunday dinner was very tasty. Staff were polite and helpful. A council run venue with good food, and would suit other celebrations.

Went there today for Sunday lunch, and it was amazing quality! i had a starter and a main, to start i had Creamed vegetable soup which was so full of flavor and the presentation was amazing with croutons in the middle, a sprig of watercress on top and a drizzle of olive oil on the soup. for mains i had roast beef dinner and that was lovely and filling, with a homemade Yorkshire pudding and a mix of vegetables-carrots,green beans,cauliflower,swede puree, roast parsnips and roast potatoes. my fiance had a starter of smoked mackerel pate with shrimps with toasted bread and a garnish of rocket and this too was presented beautifully and extremely tasty, he then had a main of roast leg of lamb dinner, which too was very tasty and had the same assortment of veg, overall the food and service was amazing! i highly recommend a visit!
