SKAUS in Liverpool

I chose SKAUS to host my 40th birthday party, and it was the perfect venue! I’ve been visiting SKAUS since moving to Liverpool three years ago. They serve amazing brunches during the day, and I’ve always loved the bold flavors and welcoming atmosphere. When I found out they offer private evening hire with catering, I knew it would be the ideal place for my celebration. We had 30 guests for a buffet-style meal, with some arriving later for drinks. The entire process, from booking the event and securing it with a deposit to selecting the food, was seamless. Communication was professional, friendly, and prompt throughout. The party itself was fantastic—everyone raved about the food! The drinks selection was good, with spirits, craft beers, and a great wine list. If you're looking for a venue for a private function or party, I can’t recommend SKAUS highly enough!

Trendy cafe Not scouse like I remember Overpriced especially the wine. Staff pleasent Location nr Penny Lane One for the tourists.

Went for brunch and ordered the miso mushrooms on toast which were really tasty. Both loved our coffee and would get these items again. Also ordered soda bread toast - £6! Tasty but not worth the price. The hash browns I was super excited about were not seasoned at all and the cheese was stingy which looked generous on top but wasn’t really enough. The olive ketchup is nice but not for the hash browns -overpowered the entire dish. Partner also had granola which he was enjoying until half of it was an orange chutney which again over powered the entire dish. He would get again but ask for it without the orange chutney. Will try again as it was a mixed bag but pleasant enough. Prices are high in our opinion and the above cost 41 quid bearing in mind this is brunch.

Foods always stunning. Although portions are getting slowly smaller. Everything is home made and beautiful. Handed my Cv once and staff next day when I was dining never had a clue the cv they were laughing at was mine.

Got the homemade crumpets with bacon, sausage and fried egg. Was absolutely lovely. Asked for some brown sauce to dip the sausage in and got a pot of homemade brown sauce which was delicious.

This is my go-to venue whenever I’m in the Allerton region meeting friends, getting hangry whilst shopping or simply need a little pick-me-up. The interior is gorgeously designed - simple and Scandi inspired. An instant helping of hygge as soon as you walk in. The staff are always as lovely as can be without ever being over the top - a delicate balance that’s hard to achieve (but these guys have nailed it!) The quality of the food is extremely high-end for a small daytime venue. The chefs really know what they’re doing (Stand out dish for me the is the mouthwatering range of hassle-back potatoes)! The coffee also never fails to hit the spot - Skaus can hold its own with even the ponciest hipster baristas. Oh and it sells delicious bread and wine to take away too! Foodies and coffee-snobs take note - if you only visit one place in the Allerton region, make it here! Just be sure to get there early as it’s hugely popular with locals and fills up very quick!

Stopped for a coffee and a bacon sandwich after a morning of walking. What a fantastic little place and a great choice of good quality food. Staff were really friendly and the coffee and food was amazing, will be back for more.

Lovely new place, coffee is great staff are friendly and there's a lovely scouse, scandavian ambience. Would definitely recommend as it adds to the growing Allerton experience.

Mocha hot drinks to go are fab, nice and hot! Oat milk ones too.Delicious fresh bread and a bottle of organic wine today. Fab.Takeaway packaging for a slice of toast/cake a little excessive but recyclable at least. Will deffo be a regular shop of ours.

Brilliant scouse! If you’re visiting and looking to try it. Scientific levels of slow cooking. Coffee is lovely too and the granola is awesome! A little shop there as well which would be great for tactical presents if you forget a birthday or anniversary!

Myself and my husband recently visited Skaus on Allerton Road for a coffee stop on our lockdown walk. We also bought takeaway scouse to heat up at home, pickled cabbage, a jar of homemade kimchi and fresh sourdough bread! All absolutely delicious, gorgeous Scandinavian style decor inside, friendly staff and we can’t wait to visit again! Thanks guys, a brilliant addition to Allerton Road.

Fui a Skaus en el Campamento y Furnance. Tenemos algunos platos para compartir. Pedimos las albóndigas suecas, los patitos de pato, los chips Hasselback y el pan de soda Skaus. Toda la comida era absolutamente deliciosa. Probablemente la mejor comida que tuve mientras estuve en Liverpool durante la semana. Esta comida es un deber - prueba y no te decepcionará!

Acabo de almorzar en Skaus, deliciosa comida sabrosa. Las salchichas vegetarianas de remolacha eran increíblemente buenas, mucha comida, fresca y bien cocinada.Conocí a uno de los dueños, Dan, joven encantador, ocupado pero con tiempo para conversar sobre su menú para mí y mi esposo.Sin duda volveremos.

Went for lunch. Can’t rate the food highly enough. Probably the best tasting food we’ve had this year. Recommend both the meat and vegan scouse. Friendly staff and good service. Even a few dinosaurs (due to an event). Will definitely be back.

Skaus está dentro de un bar llamado Hus en el edificio Tempest. Visitamos por primera vez el sábado por la noche y llegamos justo cuando una gran cantidad de invitados llegaron para un restaurante secreto en el piso de arriba. Una vez que se fueron, Hus estaba bastante tranquilo un sábado por la noche, y habiendo abierto las puertas para que la gente subiera las escaleras, la habitación eventualmente comenzó a calentarse y nuestra comida con Skaus comenzó.Es un menú muy interesante y la comida que tuvimos fue absolutamente deliciosa de principio a fin. El estándar es alto y el costo es muy razonable. El bar está separado, por lo que afecta el servicio de recargas de bebidas, pero una vez que se explicó esto, comprendimos la dificultad.Todos fuimos por el pescado y las patatas fritas y fue fantástico. Ahora que sabemos que está aquí, volveremos a probar otras opciones del menú. No estoy seguro de si estos tipos se mudarán a su propio restaurante en algún momento, pero hasta que lo hagan, le recomendamos encarecidamente que vayan con Hus para probar Skaus. Have been here a few times to eat in the afternoon and evening. I have never been let down We've had Scouse, meatballs and been to their events and they've all been fantastic. I can't recommend them enough

We booked for a party of 20 to wish farewell to our son and his girlfriend who have gone to Australia travelling so pre booked food as such a large group can honestly say a truly wonderful experience and the Sunday roast was delicious !the owners Josh and Dan looked after us well so friendly, sure we will all be back again I can recommend fully .

Fuimos a Skaus mientras visitábamos la familia en Liverpool en sus recomendaciones y nos quedamos impresionados por lo bien que estaba la comida. Cada plato era delicioso e impecablemente presentada, el personal era muy amable y hay una gran selección de cervezas y bebidas en oferta.El lugar en sí es muy acogedor y será uno de los primeros lugares que vuelva al visitar Liverpool en el futuro.Uno de los mejores restaurantes que he quedado y no puedo recomendar lo suficiente.

We have eaten here a few times now and it never disappoints, Dan and Josh are producing some great Scandinavian style food in Liverpool which makes a really nice change. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Dan and the team catered for my party just last weekend food was amazing, everyone loved the hasselback chips and the sandwiches were so tasty! Just what I wanted! I have also been for brunch a couple of times and loved it, perfect venue for their style of food too! Will definitely be back....

We went to Skaus as a group of 8 but in spite of our large group size the staff were very attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the steak and it was absolutely gorgeous and great value for money. The only issue I had came to payment time. We were told we had to pay for the food & drinks separately, which was fine. We all paid for our food but then had a 10 min wait before someone came over to take drink payment, by which time we all had our coats on and were waiting to leave.

Wow, what stunning plates of food in a great location. We went in search of oysters as there aren't many places in Liverpool you can get them. The oysters with trout caviar were delightful as was the mackerel and rhubarb and the cauliflower three ways. The hassleback potatoes are also delicious. We will definitely be coming back regularly.

Dock leaf is a lovely airy bar that is a pleasure to spend time in. SKAUS operate within Dockleaf bar. I went for dinner but there’s also brunch and lunch menus and I’m definitely going to go back to try! I had the burger, with a side of hasselback chips which were lovely. The burger was lovely, with pickled beetroot and cucumber ketchup! Would definitely recommend. They change up the menu often to keep it seasonal.
