Definitely a perfect place for delicious food. I had the beer batterd cod with chips. The cod was deliciously crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The service is very friendly and approachable. I would like to go here again.

Booked a table here for a couple of evenings while we were staying at a nearby campsite. On both occasions the food was excellent and substantial, staff were super friendly and the atmosphere cosy and inviting. We had the ham egg and chips, steak and ale pie, fillet steak, lamb shank, banofee pie and Baileys cheesecake. Everything was delicious.

Absolutely fantastic eating experience. They were able to attend to my wife's needs of dairy and gluten free food. On both occasions that we visited. Even allowing her to bring her own pudding. Excellent service and Doombar on pump. Thoroughly recommended. A genuine family run pub.

Lovely friendly pub / restaurant. Highly recommend booking if wanting to eat here. We had a lovely meal on Sunday. Freshly cooked food. No ding meals here....The steak ale & mushroom pie was tasty. Even if it only had a puff pastry top. The cheese board had a nice selection of cheeses. highly recommend this place.

Food wasn't great for what we paid for it

Had a working holiday, went in on Tuesday eve and Thursday , with 5 of us,we sat in garden, staff were excellent, and the Ribeye and lamb shanks were amazing, Highly recommend will def go again if in area.

Had my birthday party there last night. 6..3 22 8 people, lovely atmosphere. Food was excellent, the staff was very attentive nothing was to much trouble will definitely go there again, great menu good value thank you

Brilliant Sunday Roast! Lovely atmosphere and attentive service.

Fantastic service from all staff as usual. Warm friendly greeting. Heaters were on as it was a bit chilly outside today. Menu has changed due to coronavirus, but good choice for everyone. Plenty of free parking. Could do with another veggie or vegan choice on the menu, but the food I had was delicious. I couldn't eat it all so took some home in a takeaway container. Great place for families to meet up for good food and surroundings. Wine was very good too. Would recommend 👌

What a great find. We had such a lovely welcome with the staff being very attentive throughout our visit. Food was delicious with generous portions and extremely good value. We will definitely be returning.

Good food but was slightly spoiled by rough beer. We did visit just after lockdown had been lifted so it could have had a bearing.

Ambience ... great! Beer ... cold! Food ... umh! And all within 3 or 4 minutes of walk of the site ... Result.

Amazing lovely foods and people, we loved the liver pate so much! Something very special about it..smooth, deep flavour, good harmony with red onion chutney. And lamb shank was also great, soft and tender at the same time with delicious gravy and Yorkshire pudding. Highly recommended!

As tired travelers we rocked up at 2030 and had a brilliant traditional pub meal. Very simple but so well executed. What a great end to a long day.

NOT THAT GOOD STAFF WORKING VERY HARD UNFORTUNATELY THE FOOD WASN'T AS EXPECTED OVER PRICED. ALSO COBWEBS ALL OVER LIGHT FITTINGS SO COULD DO WITH A PROPER CLEAN. I WONT BE GOING BACK FOR FOR SECONDS FOR WHAT I PAYED £47 GET MUCH BETTER MENU ELSEWHERE IN LITTLEHAMPTON ALTHOUGH THE STAFF WERE VERY NICE.

A nice, cosy old pub with low ceilings and a log fire. The owners were very welcoming and attentive, the food (I had seafood platter and lamb shank) tasted great.

Lovely Place to go out for a bit to eat or enjoy a traditional Sunday Roast every Sunday. And it is also a fantastic place to work too!

Had the Sunday roast and we’re disappointed at first as the beef was all gone but we went for the turkey and it was a great plate full with a Yorkshire pudding and gravy - then the Veges came out - wow there were probably enough for four people - really well cooked brocoli beans carrots and great roast potatoes. We must have been hungry as we ate the lot -

Great little pub. Had Sunday lunch.. was really good quality with generous portions. Service was friendly too. Only very small negative was the Yorkshire puddings could be better. Highly recommend overall

The food was low quality and tasteless. We first arrived there and we asked if any of the meat was halal, and the service girl just looked at us and said "What does that mean." That wasn't a problem though but we said "ask the chef he'll know," and she came back a few minutes later saying that when she had asked him he replied with "No of course not" this was an extremely rude gesture by the way she said it. After all this, we got our food maybe 30 minutes later and was disappointed to say the least.

We stopped at the Sic Bells for lunch yesterday - just chose it because it was equi-distant for me and my cousin and because it wasn't a chain. It was so nice to eat food that I thought was worth paying for! I had the Chicken Caesar Salad which was on the specials board and it was delicious. I would say that the garden really needs tidying up - it doesn't create a great impression when you walk in from the car park behind the pub, but don't be put off - the food is excellent.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with the family. We eat out a lot and have to say this was really up there. The roast beef was beautiful and the sticky toffee was by far the best ever! Fantastic service friendly and attentive. A definite 5 star and perfect for when staying at the caravan site up the road! We shall return :)

Fair. Soup tastes like Heinz vegetable soup with added chunky veg. Salt overload. Lamb was very nice. Pork belly was dry and crackling was to chewwy

Popped in for a pint, landlord thinks he is Gordon Ramsey, lost his sh*t in front of everyone over a pen ??? And treated the two young women working like dogs. Has an anger issue and split personality syndrome as well as little man syndrome. Not a pleasent place to have a quiet pint and bless the lovely staff for being able to have a sence of humour even when the boss is on one !!! You ain't no gorden Ramsey mate, lighten up !!. ....

I cannot rave about this place enough if your ever about it is the BEST PLACE to eat in Littlehampton and there liver patè is amazing this place has a lovely homely atmosphere and just generally awesome

Cannot fault food. First class. Overall little things like PUSH typed and stuck on a door to the toilets with a now torn piece of paper it's been pushed by so many, why, buy a sign and attach it to the said door, makes the image of the place so much more professional. This is where the knight supposedly died after slaying the dragon at the knucker hole in Lyminster. This is the ideal place to have a pie and pint and revisit local legend....

Nice country pub food was all good and friendly but beer on tap not on the pace as in pooly kept. Best to stay on the very good house Merlot.

Good menu if a little pricey. Cosy feeling reminiscent of country pubs of yore. A choice of ale rather than Hobson's would be a bonus, not that I dislike London Pride.

Excellent food, recommend the sharing platter to start and the crab stuffed plaice. Superb.
