Worst ice cream I ever had. Don’t be fooled about the queue. It’s mostly because of the location not necessarily the food quality. Super overpriced for such a low quality, awful food.

One of the worst ice creams I ever had, especially at that price (4.5 pound for one scoop)and the staff are very dismissive and almost rude as well. If you wanna waste your money and put it down the drain for a very runny ice cream definitely choose this café.

Love this place! Great food, great staff, great service. Would definitely recommend!

Drinks are expensive, unfortunately the city takes advantage of tourists. What makes up for this place is the view and enjoying the city's architecture.

What a blight on Prince’s street gardens . Stinks of old fat and horrible techno music is so loud the rude staff can’t hear what their customers are asking for. Can’t believe their licence extends to having this racket spoiling the atmosphere. Staff training seems to have cleverly instilled an attitude of absolute disdain for customers who are clearly just a horrible inconvenience. Please make it go away. Sorry to be mildly hysterical but it’s SO awful!

A cozy place to linger with a wonderful view of the old town or the hustle and bustle of Princess Street. Yes, the prices aren't exactly cheap (a cup of coffee costs £3.50) but that's not the city anyway 😁

On my first visit two weeks ago my fish and chips were really very good, today the quality was terrible, the fish was completely dry and almost inedible, the chips were still OK.

Ordered two wafels with topping, got one with two toppings. When I referred to it, the responds I got that I paid for a single wafel, so I had to order another one. Thats no service if you make a fault yourselves and the customer has to deal with it. The waffel tasted nice, but the topping was off course way to much.

Really noisy with the music. Staff were nice, but didn’t respond when saying that the music was too loud.

Well-located café right in the middle of the action. The cappuccino had a pleasant taste. The prices are of course increased and it is up to everyone to buy something here.

It was a very nice coffee, a nice rich nutty flavor. It was a bit expensive, but the location was very nice and there were some chairs and tables to chill in while we drank.

Poor service — I only ordered a coffee, but it was so slow, I had to leave without to catch a bus. Staff watched me waiting while nothing was going on at the espresso machine.

I personally didn't enjoy the food. I also believe it is overpriced. 1 piece of waffle for £6.50 is wild, without toppings? Not even one? I don't think it's worth it. Also be aware that there are lumps of sugar in the waffle so if you dont have sweet tooth, I wouldn't recommend. I did enjoy the hot chocolate.

A popular cafe. A nice place to grab a coffee. Outdoor seating can be in demand especially during Fringe.

Nice spot for a sit in the gardens near the National Galleries of Scotland. Prices are a touch higher than in other cafes in the area, but coffee is good.

The cafe was absolutely amazing with great service! The people working at the cafe were more like a family guiding us in the best way possible! Specially mentioning Andrea, Jana and Ella who were absolute sweethearts! ❤️

My friend and I occasionally stop into this cafe for a coffee, but on this occassion noticed, a. there were no recycle bins, and b. the staff were placing large plastic ice-cream tubs in the landfill bin outside the cafe. I asked one staff member who said he didn't know about recycle bins, just used the facilities they had, but it was when we asked to speak to the manager we got a shock. He basically said he didn't care, had no time for such nonesense and we clearly had far too much time on our hands to complain about it. In a climate crisis with heightened awareness, the public ARE concerned, and recycling in the very base of it. In addition to this affront, this person talked over us and left us no time to have our say or even attempt to have a discussion. I was aghast, but left not angry but even more certain of my views and certain of finding a way to express them. A very unpleasant experience though, one I'll not be repeating with a return visit. I am looking for the owner of higher manager if anyone has a steer on this.

Having a coffee with a friend we noticed cans, plastics etc were being chucked in the bin as opposed to being recycled, including large empty ice-cream tubs. When we asked the staff they said these were the only facilities around, but it was when we asked to speak to the manager that we got the biggest shock. He basically said he didn’t care and as well as laughed in our faces saying we had too much time on our hands to be worried about this. In the middle of a climate crisis. Angry is not the word, we will be taking it further.

Great place to enjoy the park and good weather in Edinburgh. The background music they currently play there is at odds with the clientele - sometimes really loud so you can't hear a yourself in a conversation 🙃. In general a nice place to sit and people watch.

Stopped off here to grab a bite to eat. Started off good as I was served by a lovely young lady, however, I noticed the place STANK of weed. Like actually stank. The price was also crazy and the food was trash. Overall, just a weird and disappointing experience...

The worst waffle I’ve ever tasted. They charge around 11 pounds for a tiny slice that was not properly baked, with the sugar not properly dissolved in the batter ( you can feel the sugar crystals when you eat), and the waffle was dry. The chocolate sauce was was also subpar.

I decided to treat myself to an ice-cream on the way home from work, lured in by the advert of ‘di Rollo’s’ icecream. I was expecting thick & creamy Italian style vanilla ice-cream but what I got was more like a Mr Whippy in scoop form. Not great for £3.50. The cone part was as expected-cone-like & crispy. If you want a waffle style cone that’ll cost you £4.50 all-in. If you’re visiting the city it’s a nice place to sit, but you could get a takeaway ice-cream from one of the shops & sit in the gardens & have a better, cheaper experience. I can’t comment on the rest of the food so perhaps (hopefully!!) that’s better?

Lindo lugar donde poder tomarte un café en pleno centro de Edimburgo y contemplar lo bonito de la ciudad. Genial para ir con familia o amigos, incluso solo/a ya que está situado en un hermoso jardín rodeado de flores y césped. Hay que añadir que el trato al cliente y el ambiente de la cafetería hace más encantador el sitio. Recomendable 100%!!

Beautiful little spot in the middle of the Gardens. The food and coffee were immense and the music choices were the icing on the cake. Will be back!

Bought 2 takeaway coffees but they were lukewarm by the time we were only a few hundred yards away. The staff didn't give off the impression that they wanted to be there - but they did what needed to be done

Prices are high and quality wasn’t. We got two crepes, and both were rubbery while costing 6 pounds each not including any topping (each topping is between 1.50 and 3 pounds). The crepes were made in the kiosk while the waffles are pre-packed in plastic to be heated if you order. The drinks are probably fine, but we skipped that. You are likely paying for the ambiance of the park, but I’d skip it if I had to do it over again.

£20 for 2 waffles and hot chocolates. Waffles were cheap prepackaged ones that were microwaved and got some weird sugar free powder put on top. Hot chocolates were very watery, wouldn’t recommend

Had a cup of foam for £3.50. You get drawn into the location but had to be the the worst coffee experience ever. Ran by kids so what do you expect, left and went to cafe in Grassmarket for proper service and coffee

Two coffees ordered for £3.50 each. One half cup and the other full of foam. When mentioned to the staff I was met with “ this is what you would get in Italy!”. Hazing been to Italy many times they would and have never served coffee this bad……ever. This place takes advantage of the location but when ran by young staff only should not have expected anything more, my mistake

Not really sure about this place. Read mixed reviews. Seemed to be a bit of a hipster place / Ibiza club bar Tired to order our coffees and the music was a little too loud for the server to hear me, so found myself shouting. Order the coffee and then waited, which I do not mind, only to find a line of 5 people all waiting for coffees, who seemed to be there a while, relaying their orders again to. Whilst waiting for the coffee, the staff seemed to be in a little disoriented with what to do, some trying to sort out coffee orders, and somebody messing around trying to sort the music out to get the right vibe. Waited roughly 10 mins for my coffee and sat in the park to enjoy the beautiful surrounding and vibe, only to have a luke warm coffee. Disappointed and should have said something but could see a large queue forming. Please sort out the quality of what your are producing, then you can address the vibe you want.

Came here for ice cream and I paid 3.50 each. I got more flavour from the wooden spoon they gave than the ice cream itself. The music was very loud as well so I couldnt hear the person serving. I will remember to never come back here again.

Such a horrid experience I had today(29/05/22, Sunday @ 4.20pm). My spouse and I went to get waffles from here for my son, but the people who were working there was super rude that I left without getting one. This is shocking as I have been here before and the service I received was lovely. But today's incident will only make me to think twice if I want to make another trip there again!

Walked along princess Street and saw the sir Walter cafe was open so thought I'd get a snack for breaki Went to device counter and asked if I could have a link sausage roll The guy said we don't do sausage rolls we do hot dogs so orderd one The guy seemed not interested in serving me and I felt I was being a hindrance he didn't seem to be in a good mood So I was presented with this pink hot dog in a white roll and told to help my self to sauce and then presented with a cappuccino. Then the charge came omg £8.00 for a crap hot dog and a very average cappuccino Terrible service and poor standard of food won't be back . Could be so good if run by the right type of owners.in such a prime site.🙁

Went here with my girlfriend, and we had in mind to have a burger. The price for a chicken burger with chips was £6 for the burger and £3 for the chips. So in total we paid £15 for 2 burger and a portion of chips. The burger was literally a bun cut in half and a piece of chicken breast. The chicken breast must have been one of those breaded frozen chicken breast from super markets, as it was deep fried. This is by far the most overpriced locations to eat. Do not eat here as the food is horrible.
