A very good restaurant when it comes to food. But the service needs to be improved, the waitress is constantly rushing and not very friendly. Gives us the bill when everyone hasn't finished eating.

Good coffee, the rest not so good. The sándwiches regular, nothing special and the service a bit slow and without too much interest

Fantastic authentic Italian, lovely friendly staff and love the light and airy decor, we hadn't booked but managed to get a table (as was busy), pizza was amazing and very reasonably priced, cannot fault anything I would give 10 stars if I could

We popped in for some drinks on Wednesday evening and the food looked so good we couldn’t resist!! The pasta was delicious and my husband’s pizza looked incredible. Our server, Abi, was lovely, she was very welcoming and kind to everyone. We will definitely be back next time we are in Edinburgh!!

The food was ok - I wouldn't call it made in Italy, but it was on the table quickly and helped with hunger. The staff were without exception very friendly and accommodating! The tables are a bit very close together, which I didn't like.

Very good pizza, they have a gluten-free pizza base. The only problem was the fork. I couldn’t cut the pizza. The should replace the cutlery set.

The food is good, the space is pleasant, the food is very good and the companies are very friendly.

Food was good. My fiancée and I had two nice dishes of pasta, Caserecce really well cooked (not overcooked!) with nice tomatoes sauce, and Lasegne. As dessert, I had a tasty slice of Cranachan (Scottish cake) which I enjoyed much (delicate, not oversweety and healthy!). Service was really enojable and friendly. Recommended!

I had a really good experience, are there 3 times and tried three different dished, all vegetarian. The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was great!

Nice little restaurant in the Grassmarket. Had pizza and salad , really nice, followed by biscoff cheesecake which was really good. Wonderful array of cakes, good coffee. It is quite a small restaurant and tables are a little crammed in, there is outdoor seating for warmer months. Well worth a visit 😊

My friend and I went for lunch by chance looking for a quiet and pleasant place. We ate pasta, it was actually delicious and they served us quite quickly. The waitress's attention was very friendly. Well priced for the area in which it is located.

Cozy place with some pastries and good cafe. Although it was lacking savory options, the cake was very tasty and big enough to share. Service was on point and we were quickly seated. The only drawback was the lack of toasts or sandwiches in general, but overall good time and money spent

Although it's small and tiny, the food was authentic and delicious. The servings are large. Seating is harder to get if you have a large party. Try the Kopparberg pear cider... super refreshing for an alcoholic beverage!

I have never felt compelled to give a food review but this place is my new go to when I come to Edinburgh. On Boxing Day evening, after a night of looking after a sick child I needed ‘a real Italian’. The garlic bread isn’t just a couple of thin lazy slices but 2 thick fresh wonderfully tasting sides. The pizza was terrific and very authentic. I also ordered aranchini which most places will give you 3 measly portions. Not these guys. A great portion and wonderfully made! You guys really made my night. I didn’t put a star on atmosphere as I had a take away which was very prompt.

Me parece flipante que un lugar tan recomendado, tenga esta poca compasión por los turistas. I la comida la hago mejor en mi casa, precios altísimos para lo que ofrecen, una auténtica ESTAFA!

Good pizza, not very good. Dough is made very nicely. Topping is 6 out of 10. Nice atmosphere for a cozy simple lunch. Location is nice.

Food was average at best. Ordered the lasagna and it was microwaved, hot outside, cold in the middle. Had some taste to it, wasn’t awful but wasn’t worth the money. Staff were nice and friendly. The pizzas the table next to me ordered looked alot better so maybe go for that if you visit.

Cute spot for a little coffee break while sight seeing. Busy with lots of coffee choices (tiramisu latte) and desserts.

Wir sind rein gekommen, haben direkt einen Tisch bekommen. Bestellung wurde auch super schnell aufgenommen. Insgesamt waren wir eine Stunde da. Wir hatten jeder eine Pizza.

Me and boyfriend stopped in for a quick bite to eat before we visited the castle (which is just a 5 minute walk from the restaurant) and we were not disappointed! We both highly recommend the vegetarian and meat lasagna. Our waiter, Lucio, was incredibly helpful and looked after us very well making our visit to Edinburgh even more special. He truly was Made in Italy!

La pizza era buona. Il problema è stato trovarci capelli nell’impasto, e dopo averlo fatto presente ci è stato chiesto se volevamo un cupcake o qualcosa da bere. Dato che si chiama Made in Italy, faccio presente che in Italia trovare capelli in una pizza vuol dire che il locale non è igienico. Dato che anche il costo della pizza era elevato e la dimensione era ridotta ci aspettavamo almeno che ce ne venisse offerta un’altra o un rimborso. Abbiamo lasciato il locale mangiando solamente mezza pizza, ricevendo solo una scusa e una bottiglietta d’acqua.

We popped in for breakfast on a rainy Sunday morning. The baked eggs with mozarella were delicious!

We ate there while on a tour in August, the food was outstanding. We were not expecting Scotland to have one of the best Italian restaurants we have been in.

I can’t comment on the food and drinks but I can say I sat at my table for 25 minutes being ignored while the waitress waited on everyone else. I attempted to flag her down and she shook her head at me like she would be right there. However after 10 more minutes I just got up and left. I have never had this type of experience at a restaurant and not sure what it was about me that made her instantly dislike me, but would not recommend this place based on customer service alone.

We dropped in to get dessert and ended up getting pizza and hot white chocolate.. pizza was very good and so was hot chocolate but I do not recommend mozzarella balls .. they were not tasty at all..

Die Portionen waren für ihren Preis wirklich klein und das Essen kann geschmeckt wie ein Fertiggericht. Wir haben dort gegessen weil in den umliegenden Lokalen alles belegt war und dort war noch ein Platz frei, jetzt wissen wir auch warum.

Extremely unprofessional. They seated us (a party of two) and proceeded to pointedly ignore us thereafter. We ended up walking out of the restaurant after 15 minutes, without being offered so much as a glass of water. When we asked on our way out, they made some brusque remarks about being short staffed. There was no invitation to come back later, or even a performative apology. We understand restaurant staff being over stretched, and we were more than happy to be patient had someone bothered telling us that was the situation. They did, however continue to serve other tables that were seated after us. The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that perhaps they were prejudiced by our race? It was one of the most memorable restaurant experiences I’ve never had.

We had a very nice meal. The staff enter attentive and good with a young baby as well.

Die vegetarische Pizza war gut. Das Personal freundlich und bemüht. Allerdings wurde mir beim Nachbestellen das falsche Bier gebracht. Als ich das reklamiert habe, wurde behauptet, es sei das richtige, nur im falschen Glas - was aber nicht stimmte! Fehler passieren - aber Abstreiten und Lügen ist kein guter Stil!

Popped in for some late lunch but was very disappointed. Saw it had 4 stars on google and thought we would give it a try. We were seated at a dirty table to start with. Service is quick but food is overpriced and not very nice. Ordered a pizza with ham expecting some nice Parma ham or something instead I received a pizza with supermarket wafer thin ham on top. Pasta tasted like a ready meal. Not worth the money, will not be back

Only the wine was good thank god it was made somewhere else.

Market bought pasta with frozen beef. Wine was luke warm. An additional beer was added to the bill and there was an "optional" service charge that was added without our knowledge aswell. Avoid at all costs.

Great service but really not great food - clearly a microwaved ready meal, charged 24.50 for a pasta and bottle of wine (wine between three) - great service but avoid the pasta Al forno!!

pay top prices for frozen food that you can buy from a ready meal in M&S, food took 5 minutes to come and could tell it had come straight from the microwave. £25 each for a bowl of pasta and the cheapest bottle of red on the menu split between 3. Mental. Service and waiting staff were lovely however.

Popped in for coffee and cake and discovered a good authentic Italian restaurant on Grassmarket between all the bars there. During the Fringe we were soon seated and our orders taken. Coffee was good and there is a nice selection of cakes, many with an Italian flavour of course. The pizzas and pasta dishes looked very nice, and I'm sure that we'll return to try these.

Visited Friday evening for a few drinks, had a nice time so decided to return late Sunday afternoon for food and drinks. We decided to sit outside as it was a nice evening, we chose our table and a waitress gave us the food and drinks menu and we were literally just left. After 20 minutes my husband had to go inside the restaurant and ask if we could order. A waitress came and took our order, the drinks came out quickly, shortly afterwards our food followed. My husband ordered a Panini, on the side of the Panini there was a sticker of some sort stuck on it, which my husband made a waitress aware of, she took it away and brought it back with the sticker removed. He said the chicken was so dry, like it had been reheated for way too long. I had a pizza which was average at best. After we had finished eating, we were totally ignored again, my husband tried calling a waitress over 5 times and was ignored each time, which is crazy!!!! We were sat there for around 30 minutes with empty plates and glasses. I ended up going into the restaurant and asked if we could have some service, the guy I spoke with was very nice, I explained what had happened and he was apologetic. I ended up paying the bill and we left. The service was absolutely diabolical, never experienced that in a restaurant before. Also I suggest that some of your waitresses have more training and actually smile to customers and not be so miserable.

We ordered a spinac lasagna, and benne Arrabiata, and pizza, and one sweet potato and mac & cheese. Also, we ordered six drinks which is cola and sprite and two apple juice. So the food was so delicious. Especially, the lasagna and Brazil. I was not high if you compare it with other restaurants.

We had such a good experience at Made in Italy. From the welcoming at the door to the check in during the meal and the goodbye when leaving. The staff were all amazing. We got pizzas and chips for the table. The kids enjoyed the sweet potato fries. Highly recommend to anyone in the area and will definitely be back here again. Thank you all for that warm welcome.

A very British take on Italian food. Had two pizzas which were ok. Nice enough, but not worth the price

Overall great spot for a bite. Service is quick and friendly. Ordered the burrata basil pizza. Spot on in flavor. Side of truffle chips. One downfall the birds like to attack the tables.

Friend said his bacon roll was "totally delicious". The staff are polite and friendly, and scoot about at high speed. Other friends say this is the best coffee in town. I find it a little bitter. Judge for yourself. Good range of snacks and more substantial meals. Outside seating (weather permitting) allows you to watch the world go by. Can be 'clattery' inside due to tiled floors and metal legged chairs.

Leider waren die Tagliatelle al Ragu wirklich geschmacklos und trocken.. Nicht einmal das nachwürzen brachte was.. Zudem war der Service von der einen angestellten Top, von ihrem Kollegen der für uns verantwortlich war leider ein Flop. Schade, wir werden nicht mehr da einkehren.

Had a roll with a runny fried egg. Delicious! If only they wouldn’t have had emptied the entire salt shaker on it. 😖 No cutlery, no napkins. Egg yolk all over my hands, yet they were disgruntled about how I wasn’t too keen on leaving a tip. Regret actually tipping.

I recently dined at Made in Italy restaurant in Edinburgh, and I must say it was a disappointing experience. The tasteless food, lack of wifi, limited pasta options, dirty cutlery, and the fact that they substituted my desired pasta with fettuccine without proper explanation were all letdowns. The worst part was the food - not only it was completely tasteless but also served cold, and I even had to request replacement forks due to their uncleanliness. On the positive side, the ambience was nice because it's in a touristic area. Waitresses were notably attractive, but that does not make up for the restaurant's subpar quality of food, and the cheesy and unpleasant pasta Al forno. Additionally, the overall cost for two people was quite high at 37 Pounds for just pasta. I regretfully rate my experience at Made in Italy with a 1/5. Without exaggeration, this could be the worst Italian food I ever had in my life

Food are ok. We orderes seafood pizza and vegetable pasta. The tuna on the pizza were too salty. Calamari was fresh but too little. Service is good, we wait for a table around 15min.

Friendly staff and tasty food. Can be busy in the evenings.
