Nice pub. Reasonable prices and good atmosphere.

A very strange pub that despite having many big screen TVs with a pub packed full of people watching football regularly refuses to put on commentary so the staff can listen to music. Staff are rude, bouncer worse. Probably won't last much longer with Gary Neville ruining their beer garden and the surrounding area as well.

A traditional old pub in the heart of Manchester that claims to have been involved in the Peterloo massacre in 1819, which I can believe, it looks like it was. Nothing glitzy or glam about this place, just one step up from sawdust on the floor. However, the service was excellent, but there were few people in the place, and plenty of seating both inside and out. In fact there appeared to be a stage outside, I guess for bands. I can imagine it would be great place with the right band on. Taking about bands, they have some framed photos of Ed Sheeran performing there in 2014, see attached photos.

A fabulous pub. Despite being hemmed in by the continuing high rise building that the dreadful council allow to make this once fine city as ugly as possible, this gem retains its character. It was around during the Peterloo Massacre and injured were brought there for treatment. It serves some fine real ales, has an extensive beers garden, comfortable interior and a room with some excellent United photos and memorabilia. Well worth a visit.

Let's get this out of the way first - the fact this place has survived is brilliant. Most of the pubs in town have gone and many of those that have survived are a pale imitation of their former selves... Ah... This was once a coppers pub, let's not forget that. A blokes pub. But it was a pub which used to fill with a rich mix of folk of an evening. It did food during the day (I'd sometimes have my dinner there) and had a tiny beer yard, sorry, garden. Now, the pub looks pretty much the same inside and out - the beer yard is bigger than I remember and they have some kind of burger van doing the food now but the biggest change is the TVs. Many of them. And the size of 'em. It's now pretty much a sports bar. But aren't a lot of pubs, you'd say? Yes. And are they the worse for it, I'd ask? Yes. If this is what it needed to do to survive so be it. But when we visited on a Saturday evening (about 6 ish) it was full, and full of 'blokes' and drinking hard. "No you can't sit there, someone's sitting there" meaning we're watching the sport and you'd be in the way. There were maybe 3 women in the pub, 4 when our group entered. It was a testosterone filled, Peaky Blinder fancy dress, simian walking piss up. Ideal for a lot of people. I'm glad it survived. But not for me.

Lovely pub right in the centre of Manchester, tucked away just off Deansgate. They have a nice range of drinks and snacks available, and a good pub garden to enjoy the sunshine. They don't serve food but are happy for you to order food from elsewhere and enjoy with your drinks. The only unfortunate thing is that it's right behind the new building site of Gary Neville's tower, so the area can get a bit noisy and will eventually be overshadowed by the building.

Got a terrible experience. We order half pint of lager, a soda and lime and a 125ml glass of wine and was charged: 11,25£ When I asked for a detailed receipt was not given one and the girl (young girl with glasses, looked new) said she made a mistake and charged me for a full pint given the total to 9,60£ I asked for the price of the lime and water and was 2,20£ !!!!! For soda water!!!! I asked another waiters and they didn’t even answered. I’m a tour guide and make a beer tour and wanted to include this bar for the history. Not a chance with prices more expensive than the Ivy and such a staff . The toilets were full of puddles of wee Shameful, awful experience.

From being first come first serve for all games the final was suddenly "booked up for private event" on day of final. They can shove any future custom. Off my go to list as with a lot of other people I've spoken to they forget its empty on non football days. Soon be wanting custom.
