No food but great beer selection and excellent music choice. We had a lovely evening in Sips.

What an epic spot. Just moved dad to Salisbury and popped in after reading the reviews, will be back.....many times

Went in for the first time last sat. Immediately liked the atmosphere, staff were friendly. I usually end up drinking beer im ok with but wouldnt order again, always trying to find my perfect beer. Didnt ask just ordered no. 6 omnipollo citra selection, i have found my all time favourite beer. Bloody fantastic taste. Will be back to sample more soon.

Whilst I love a craft beer and an independent bar, Sips has lived up to the pretentious stereotype of a craft beer establishment several times now which has now resulted in this review. The initial entrance in this place was very hostile from the bar staff, and upon ordering our drinks I received a sigh and rolled eyes. The beer selection is 5/5, staff is 3/5 at best.

What a fabulous place to have a delicious beer

Good beers and a great spot to sit and drink. Barman was very helpful and friendly and was able to recommend drinks based on our tastes. Very expensive though - two *cans* of mid strength IPA came to just over £14!

Best place for best drinks in Salisbury. So far that's the only craft beer bar I found it best craft beers on taps and fridges full of cans & Bottle beers. The variety of beers is awesome from all the famous breweries of UK and Europe. Location is out standing right ne, t to riverside. Seatings inside and out next to the river. Atmosphere is super cool especially at riverside. Prices are very reasonable and good friendly service even the service was slow but who cares when you having best beers.

I don't normally post negative reviews, but having waited patiently at the bar for nearly ten minutes, the young bar man chose to put another LP on, rather than serve me. Nice place, a decent vibe but shocking customer service. Needless to say, we walked out and found a traditional boozer that welcomed our custom.

What an absolute gem! Fantastic selection of beers, cosy atmosphere and decent music. Look forward to returning soon 😎

Micropub by a weir in a city different good selection of keg beers and cans definitely some good ones if you like hard to find beers.

Fantastic craft ale bar. Always an interesting selection, and varies with each visit. Tasted some phenomenal beers there.

I visit Sips fairly often, this weekend was a tap takeover, I had the pleasure of meeting Jay, Daniel and Chewy (Colin) these lads absolutely made the evening. Good music and banter. By far the greatest knowledge on beer I’ve come across in my years. If you’re in Salisbury and want a good beer please do pop for one, but it will leaving wanting more.

Awesome little bar. Great vibes, top trumps for all to play on the tables. Amazing range of beers in the bottle shop and lots of fun beers on tap. Parking available very close at River car park behind Sainsbury's . Amazing location right next to the river. Kinda chilly - wrap up warm. But it keeps the beers in good condition.

Went to this place with a couple of friends for a regular ex forces catch up that we have started. The pub recommended by our friend was a fantastic little place. Just my sort of thing, not too big, my age group, great music playing in the background (hip hop, drum and bass, acid jazz) fantastic selection of ales that seem to be never ending, and a great selection of spirits. Will definitely return and highly recommend for a chill out bar.

Great beer, great music, great atmosphere. The building is too small for the number of people who want to enjoy this place, but that's my only criticism.

UPDATE: I owe thanks to the person who handed in my wife's tote bag (with 3 cans of cold beer inside). Owing to a misunderstanding we thought this had been taken away by persons unknown. However the bag and its contents have now been successfully recovered. Thanks Sips for keeping it safe!

Quite simply the best bar in Salisbury. Small, atmospheric, friendly and passionate about great music and great beer.

Plenty of different craft ales beers and lager's, not your usual pub but a great change of venue for those wanting to try something different

Great little place. Nice selection of beers from across the globe. Food is a variety of nuts/pretzel etc. staff always knowledgeable and helpful. Music is great. Lots of little awkward silent moment time killer games about.

A few nice beers to try. Ranging from imperial stouts to sours with some easy drinking ipa in between

Awesome little Craft micro bar, loads of beers available either on draft or bottles and can from USA to Europe (Jolly Pumpkin to Pohjala). Well worth your time to pop in if you like great kegs, awesome music and great service. 11/10 if you are in Salisbury you need to go here.

Really good craft beer bar with a great selection. 10 taps and a large fridge/shelf selection. Feels very friendly and has a great atmosphere. Outside also has a great view of the river.

I’ve never been in here and been disappointed by the selection of beers. Such a fantastic venue and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Very happy to have a place like this in Salisbury.

Best bar in the world, amazing beer and wonderful place to enjoy a drink

If you want a huge range of beer served by friendly, knowledgeable and great staff then this is the place to go. There is a massive range of lagers, pilsner, ales etc on tap to suit every taste, plus a huge range of bottled beers. There is also even a good selection of alcohol free if it's a work night.

I ordered a few things to sip, I really enjoyed them! It was a positive experience once sup. 5 stars, stars in your eyes! Tonight Matthew I am going to be, Simpatico.

Really enjoyed my visit yesterday, there was a great atmosphere and bar staff were very friendly. There's an amazing range of beers, I'm not a beer fan so I had the draft cider which was lovely, but I can see that this would be a great place to take a craft beer enthusiast.

First time visiting. I was passing after going to Avebury.. Had a good beer.. some decent stuff in cans.. Trouble for me, is the drive, An hour each way..

This is a wonderful addition to Salisbury and so friendly. Great choice of different craft beers on pump, in bottles and cans. Really nice ambience with large collection of vinyl records on the deck in the bar. Indoor and outdoor seating, river views in the Maltings. Just gets better and better!

Y'know when a cat sips milk from a saucer and it's like sipsipsipsipsipsipsipsip and it makes you happy to see but also it's expensive cos that same cat broke the vase with your mum's ashes in? That's this pub and I like it

Jacob was a fantastic host. Very knowledgeable about the drinks he serves. I recommend the skittles lager, very nice.

Absolutely ace. Probably the best rolling selection of innovative beers I've come across anywhere and some excellent tunes on the decks. Even better for the outside space by the river. Best beer in Salisbury by a country mile. Great spot in the summer as well with its outdoor tables by the river.

A relatively new, and very welcome arrival in Salisbury, Sips is a genuine Craft Beer Bar. Knowledgeable and friendly hosts, a reasonable gin selection, and some great wasabi nuts! The only reason I haven't given 5 start is because it's very small, with a very limited outside area. I hope the owners make a go of this, and can expand to more suitable premises. Definitely worth a visit if you like craft beer. Edit 5 May 2023 - Pleased to say Sips is still going strong, and it was busy this Friday evening. Well kept and served beers, and great music.

What a great place to have beers from just about everywhere, fantastic choices from 0% to 12%+. very pale to inky black chocolate stout, prices vary hugely but we will be back again and again. If you have ever been to the crafty baa in the lakes this is every bit as good for such a small venue 🍺🍺🍺😁😁😁

Great selection of drinks and great atmosphere

A 5 star review is not generous enough for a pub of this quality The location is stunning, central Salisbury but off the path so it is serene and relaxed with calm air The selection of beers is well curated with an excellent selection of both cans and beers on tap, they are more than comfortable with you having a taster too to make sure you get the right pint The staff were amazing incredibly affable with an encyclopedic knowledge of the beers with great recommendations Best pub!

Have had many good evenings with excellent beer, served by knowledgeable and friendly staff.

The best pub in Salisbury, so glad our little city has Sips. Always a huge choice of many craft beers, great atmosphere, love this place!

Cool hipster vibe in quite a small space. Friendly staff. Beers are interesting, but not had one yet I really wanted to go back for. Many are very strong stouts and porters, would be good to see a couple more lighter beers on the menu.

Fantastic craft ale bar tucked away in the heart of Salisbury. Has a distinct character and charm that is as unique and individual as some of the beer. Very friendly and pleasant place to stop for a drink. Highly recommended.

A special place where specialist knowledge of craft ales is put to good use. Its not cheap but it is good value for money and deserves your support. Centrally located and surrounded by alternative drinking houses it offers ales from all over Europe with at least 8 normally on tap. Massive selection of canned and bottled ale too.

Needs to get Soul Mining by the the on vinyl for the playlist.

A fantastic little bar and bottle shop in a nice location in Salisbury. Jacob was very welcoming and great at recommending some local beers, and letting you taste what was available on draft. Thoroughly recommended!

Absolutely loved this little bar... Different specials on the board, and you can try 1/3 or Half a pint. Magazines & Boardgames on the tables, and they sell take away beers too.. Loads of local, one off beers, with beautiful flavours. And a record player , playing some lovely vinyl music.

Very friendly staff, great recommendations for both alcoholic and non alcoholic beers. Lovely Guava and Mango ale

The best bar in the centre of Salisbury for amazing ales/beers - it's small but cosy, with friendly/knowledgeable staff, great music and a range of quality spirits if you don't drink beer. Amazing beer isn't always cheap, but they will always have an affordable option.

Went with a couple of friends on Thursday. Tried the cacao porter was perfect for the winter! Good friendly service and good tunes! Will be returning definitely!

It's a cool bar. It has a chilled small Ibiza bar / Belgium pub 'vibe'.. maybe? Lots of amazing beer choices!! The ones I had were all very tasty

Been a couple times. It's v small but we sat outside, by the river. Great selection of indie brews.

Finally some good beer in Salisbury. Not only that but a friendly bartender who knows their stuff. You've got a new regular. *Update - consistently great, evolving menu, love this place. *Update 2 - Christmas beers galore! Can't get better than that.

An intimate space, great range of beers, but the music was too loud for such a small bar and having the door open made it rather chilly.

Great little bar with a fabulous, ever-changing selection of beers and cider on tap as well as in bottles and cans. Jacob is a great guy, always happy to talk through the options available. Seating outside overlooking the river is perfect on a warm day. This is one of Salisbury's hidden gems ( I don't normally drink beer, but I do here!).

Nice little independent bar. Definitely more.for beer enthusiasts.than other drinkers, but so long as you go there knowing that, it's a great little place. They do have a nice range of gins and other spirits if you do fancy something else. And even a cracking little range of bottled and canned beers to take away and keep your night going.

Salisbury needed a place like this. Weird and wonderful selection of beers, from classic Belgian to sours and imperial porters. My wife, who doesn’t usually like beer always finds something interesting here. A particular shout out should go to Jacob, the owner/manager, who is friendly and knowledgeable and really given Sips its unique character.

Lovely place with very different drinks

Excellent choice of beers to drink in or take home, interesting spirit or cider alternatives, a cozy atmosphere, and a wonderful Landlord.

A well thought out setting with well thought out beers. Also well sought after beers. Great selection of equally diverse spirits as well. Staff incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. Look forward to future visits. A local, well hidden gem.

We were excited to visit whilst on a mini break to Salisbury and it was ace! Don’t think I’ve ever been served a biscuit with a beer before- it’s the future!!!
