Came here on Sunday for lunch and we were not disappointed. We had a lovely meal. I opted for the beef which was superb. Very medium rare with a huge Yorkshire pud, roasties and a lovely selection of veg. My partner is veggie and doesn’t eat mushrooms so the staff were happy to accommodate her needs with a specially made up veggie dinner which she loved. Portions were such neither of us could manage a pudding. We had a lovely bottle of Pinotage to go with the meal. Total bill including service was£84. My only (v minor) whinge is the roasties weren’t crisp enough for me. That said they were still good. The setting is lovely and all staff polite, professional and lovely. You’ll need to book if you want to come though. Well worth a visit.

We had a really delicious Sunday roast there. Absolutely finger licking good. Also one of the best Yorkshire pudding I've eaten (and I normally don't like it). Comes with a lot of jus, too. Staff very friendly and proactive. Just the ambience could have been a bit nicer and warmer.

We had a great Sunday lunch whilst meeting up with family over the Christmas period. Superb range of starters and the most delicious selections of Sunday Roasts. The roast beef could possibly be the best we have ever had. Beautifully cooked and presented. To finish we shared a couple of cheeseboards. The staff were really good and attentive. Great value for money. Would definitely go again

We visited here for my birthday on Saturday evening. Although busy the tables were well enough spaced that the environment was not at all noisy or overpowering. There was a lovely atmosphere, the staff were polite and attentive and service was quick. The food was magnificent - I had the mezze as a starter with the pink roast loin of venison as a main and followed up with chocolate nemesis. All were fantastic, well presented, delicious and a real joy to eat. Portions were a good size, large enough to feel satiated without being uncomfortable.

Went for our work Christmas Dinner here today. The food was really good and came out promptly and still nice and hot. Service was also really good.

We have just enjoyed another fabulous evening at Dan's, this time for our company's Christmas party. As always, the quality of the food and service was exceptional. My wife and I have been big fans of Dan's for many years, but to see such standards maintained when serving on mass was very impressive. Thanks to Dan, Sally, and the team...and also to the very attentive Freddie. Superb!

16th Nov, we held a birthday dinner at Dan's upstairs in the private dinning room. There were 16 of us and everyone commented on how fantastic the food, service, staff and location was. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff who looked after us were exceptional, timed everything to perfection. None of us had eaten there before, and I can guarantee we will be going back. Great food, Great wine and Great people. Thank you for a really memorable evening.

We had the most wonderful meal in Dans this weekend. As vegans/ vegetarians we were unbelievably grateful that the vegan/ veggie option wasn’t a depressing risotto or a salad and was something that was delicious and unique - what a breath of fresh air for a restaurant in a rural place! Dans is going to be our go to restaurant now - Thanks so much!

The food is excellent, and well worth the prices. Service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. However, the menu (for lunch at least) seems to change very rarely, so some new choices would be welcome.

100% great atmosphere and service…Sunday Lunch brilliant

We booked a table for a small group for a Saturday lunch here. We had a vegan GF person in our party but there was an option for her, which was great. It's not a huge menu and what there is, to me, is just too busy. For example, one of the desserts was a peanut butter brownie or blondie with banofee ice cream. Those two things sound nice separately but together it's a lot of flavours to the extent it's kind of overwhelming / potentially don't really all go together nicely. When we arrived and ordered drinks, two pairs of people ordered the same thing. The server brought us two lemonades and then tried to give them to two people sat next to each other, but that wasn't correct. We grabbed the drink and gave it to the right person but the server intervened saying she had given us a male and female glass, thinking the two people sitting next to each other had those drinks and she seemed upset that a female-presenting person would drink out of a 'male' glass. She said she could get another glass so the person would have the correctly gendered glass but we declined. It was just awkward that something that was clearly done out of kindness and practicality was made so weird so quickly. The food and service were fine otherwise, not outstanding, which for the prices, felt like we got less than we paid for.

Got stuck in traffic on the M4 so jumped off the motorway, and by chance stumbled upon this gem of a bar/restaurant. Duck & celeriac to start, followed by fillet beef medallions. I live in France and like my steak blue - this was over blue, but flame grilled and tasty as anything. The staff were super accomodating and friendly, moving us inside and outside. Lovely provence Rosé as an accompaniment - What a happy accident ending up here. Will stop by again if I'm in the area. 10 out of 10.

Came for a roast last weekend and it’s honestly the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant! Really delicious food.

We booked lunch online which we had today at 2.30pm. The atmosphere was perfect as although very busy, there was no harsh loudness and the setting was relaxed and very comfortable. It was hard to choose what to eat as we fancied virtually everything on the menu🤣 We decided on smoked salmon and crayfish cocktail for my wife and I had smoked duck Caesar salad - perfectly cooked and beautifully presented! We had Stonebass on samphire and capers over excellent mashed potato with a butter and caper sauce - this was probably the most delicious fish dish I’ve ever had! The front of house team were helpful and patient when advising on which vodka and white wine to have. I recommend this restaurant and booking a table is strongly recommended!

Superb, fairly-priced food and extensive wine list. More importantly, the service was super-efficient, friendly and above all, knowledgeable. A real gem in Marlborough, why would you go to all those chain-run places on the high street when you have Dan’s?

We were a party of 4 for their set menu and we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Everything was delicious and the service was perfect! The espresso martinis were a particularly good way to finish off the meal. I can highly recommend them.

Unfortunately ran into one of those chefs, who knows better than the customer how their steak should be cooked. Despite explaining the steak needed to be cooked through due to medical treatment being received, it arrived medium and red inside. It was sent back to be finished, and it came back cremated on the outside. It was too burnt to eat, and it felt like spite to be honest. We all know chefs ‘know’ how steak ‘should’ be cooked, but if they are not capable of producing one cooked through to the customer’s specification, it’s a poor job. It’s a shame because the front of house service was lovely. It gets 2 stars only because my vegetarian meal was nice enough, but I couldn’t finish it as my mum ended up with no meal and what I did have I ate alone. Birthday meal ruined :(

We visited this place on a whim and it was lovely! On arrival the staff were very welcoming. They catered for my gluten intolerance and were very helpful. The place was lovely and clean inside. The food was freshly cooked and it definitely tasted yummy! I would definitely recommend giving them a try.

Excellent meal. We chose to share the 3 small mains and 2 sides, rather like tapas. We had the smoked salmon with shrimps, the gin and tonic battered prawns and the beef. Sides of sweet potato fries and house salad. Also served with balsamic olive oil abd bread. More than enough for the 2 of us, and excellent service too. One of our party has mobility problems, and we were offered a reserved parking place in the car park. A great find.

Excellent set lunch menu here. £20 for 2 courses, £26 for 3. Caesar salad and ham hock terrine were delicious and followed by equally good, confit duck and pan fried halibut. Cheeseboard allows you to choose and share up to 5 artisan cheeses with accompanying chutneys. Nicely presented and great value food. Pleasant pint of Meantime pale ale too. Will come again.

Unfortunately I didn't take enough pics, but as you can see I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and espresso martini mocktail which was really good. The staff are great and service was really good.

We got there tonight Friday 7.15. We were offered a table 6ft away from a party of 15, yes 15 women already revved. We declined and sat at a table 15ft away. We wanted to be there as the food looked good,and was good. Evidently the party selfishly refused to go 'upstairs', insisting to be with other diners. The explanation was to turn away 15 covers or inflict the racket on other diners. We spent our time almost shouting at each other, as did others, we noticed, which contributed to the 'racket'. Pity, our first visit ,- ĺooked forward to it. Next time we will check if there's a party in. Interestingly, as we left we noticed other rooms where there was no racket, one if which was empty. 10/10 Had roast beef with lovely selection of vegetables and a huge Yorkshire pudding. I can honestly say it's the best roast beef I've ever had , everything about this roast was perfect afterwards had the hazelnut parfait which finished the meal off perfectly . The staff and service was fantastic. Woukd highly recommend, would book in advance as it is fully booked for a Sunday lunch .

Really really good roast dinner. Great beef, perfect roasts and Yorkshire, tasty gravy and some interesting vegetable sides. My wife is vegan (fussy mare) and they did a roast with a mushroom which was also very good. Spot on.

I've been wanting to visit Dan's for a while, and it didn't disappoint! A lovely little restaurant with a cosy ambience, and friendly staff. Cocktails were delicious, and the food was sublime. I had the Gin and Tonic prawns followed by the Pork tenderloin which came with a potato and black pudding hash. Both were excellent, and I can highly recommend Dan's 😊.

Undoubtedly the most interesting menu in Marlborough and surrounding area, Dan has always delivered going back to his early days at Cole’s and in this incarnation he delivers in spades. 1 star Michelin at a bargain basement price! Knowledgeable, friendly staff who go the extra mile, well sorted wine list with some real affordable gems. In a word FANTASTIC!
