Siphon Espresso & Brew Bar in Rossendale

We pop in here a lot, the coffee, pastries, and my favorite, the bacon ciabatta, are all really good and the staff are lovely. I wish they would provide sugar on the table, instead of having to ask for it, but otherwise an all round brilliant coffee shop.

I called into the cafe with family in the afternoon with I quite full. On approaching the counter I was advised “we are closed do you want to take away” When we questioned this an abrupt “ there are two signs on the door” was the reply. There are a 100 ways to deliver such a position, a grin and almost glee in the voice is not one of them. Why close at 15.00 is beyond me. However there is no excuse for bad manners.

Amazing service and the food and drinks were fab! It’s a small little cafe with a modern twist. I will certainly be coming back!!

We stopped by for some tea and coffee and indulged in some delicious banana bread and a slice of Victoria sponge. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the shop was well-maintained with a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Our son and daughter in law live in Rawtenstall and we all popped in here on Friday 18 August for lunch (along with our two very young granddaughters). It was lovely, the best bacon sandwich I have ever had (smoked streaky bacon on ciabatta), helpful service, all in all a very nice place. Will certainly go again!

Called in when I had 40mins to kill prior to a meeting locally. The coffee was excellent but I also ordered a sausage ciabatta (£4.50) and confidently expected a tasty treat. The reality was 2 very cheap catering sausages on a slice of ciabatta. At £4.50 I’d expected at least a couple of “butchers” sausages. Up your price to £4.95 and serve up proper tasty sausages. In every other way it was a lovely establishment

Lovely staff and great service. Good atmosphere for a relaxed coffee and cake. Had the cinnamon bun today, but there was a large choice. Nice dogs too!

Have enjoyed a few visits here since moving to the area and the coffee is excellent. They do a good range of hot drinks and their cakes are always so nice (also have had vegan options every time we’ve been which is great). Staff are really nice and friendly too. Will keep coming back!

This place doesn’t take cash. I ordered an oat milk latte which was delicious but very small for the price. I wanted a toasted tea cake but was given fruit loaf instead which was too sweet and burnt. Quite cold in this cafe.

Nice, rustic coffee bar on Bank street in Rawtenstall. Nice American with oat milk and a streaky bacon ciabatta. £7. Fair price. Would recommend.

The coffee is always good here although, due to it's popularity, it can get noisy in there so maybe not the best place for a quiet natter. I am disappointed that since stopping cash payments during the early days of the Covid pandemic (when cash was considered as a spreader of the virus) that they have seemingly used this as an excuse to continue to only accept card/contactless payments

Had the best ever cheese on toast here. Difficult to find savoury things as a coeliac but it wasn’t a problem, and I felt confident they knew what it entails 🙂 Gluten free brownies too and grade 1 coffee, though I had a lovely earl grey today. Nice staff ❤️

Just had a coffee here but the restaurant caters for a wide range of diners and serves very tasty snacks.

The coffee was delicious, not too bitter! Also the pistachio blondie was tasty - recommend. Was pleasantly busy.

I come here once every few weeks on a Sunday morning, the service is amazing, all the staff are so welcoming and the coffee/hot chocolates are perfect!! :)

This is the best place in Rawtenstall for cake and coffee. It is a little bit pricey but you get what you pay for which is a relaxed, calming ambience and gorgeous coffee and treats!

Popped in for coffee and a catch-up with a friend - a great addition to the Valley - a funky cafe offering great coffee and a lovely warm banana bread with blueberries and mascarpone. Great atmosphere and friendly, unhurried service. The menu is limited but then in my opinion, it is better to do a few things really well than offer lots of choices which are poorly executed. Loved it. I’ll definitely return.

Interior is amazing, staff are really nice, nice choice of food for a small cafe, BEST hot chocolate and brownies, cakes always look lovely. Nicely done.

I called yesterday for a meeting with my wife and her cousins for a brew, lovely decor and interior but the hot chocolate had a horrible after taste, the cappuccino tasted nice but was cool the chocolate brownie cake was very nice but the bacon sandwich tasted like serrano ham fried instead of bacon and but the sausage was OK.

Called in for coffee and cake I had latte when It arrived it was luke warm which I’ve had lots of lattes and they are not supposed but be that temperature, took it back owner not very friendly said off hand, that’s how it’s supposed to be and if you do like it you should of ask for it extra hot, I don’t want it extra hot I just want it hot, cakes are really good but at £3 for such a small size very expensive was told that’s because there vegan, can’t fault the ladies who were serving they were very friendly just not the owner but thankyou for letting dogs in though.

We went here for a small bite and a couple of hot drinks. The coffee was at least as good as Costa’s and the hot chocolate was the best we have had for a long time. The ham and cheese croissant was also very good. Very friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere.

Great new coffee bar in Rawtenstall. Wouldn't look out of place in Manchester's Northern Quarter. Staff extremely friendly, prices reasonable. This isn't a restaraunt, it is what it says-a coffee bar but with good choice of coffee/tea/sandwiches/cakes.Will definitely recommend and visit again. Good luck with your new venture.

We paid a quick visit today to grab a cup of tea and get out of the rain. A little disappointed to be honest. I ordered fruit bread but was given toast instead. When the order was corrected I was given toasted fruit bread crusts. Now, to be fair, some people may love to eat the crusts of a loaf. I’m, sadly, not one of those people! They were inedible and I left without eating them. I won’t be hurrying back.

Great coffee. Lovely setting and premises. None of the pretence all the style. Food really good and well priced. Excellent quality both times I’ve been. Well worth the short journey to get here.

Bank Street is now a great place for food and drink in Rawtenstall and it’s just got better with Siphon on the scene.

Came in with my 6 month old, the door was held open for me and my pram which was lovely. Helped me with my coffee to my table aswell which given my hands are usually full with my daughter was again really nice. The coffee is delightful and I ended up having a few as it’s rare to find good coffee these days

I went in to Siphon in an attempt to try the newest coffee venue in Rossendale. I came out feeling as though I may not have been the type of person who is wanted in this establishment.

We only popped in for a morning snack, but were greeted by the friendly owner, who told us how they’d put their heart and soul into decorating the place and selecting the right foods and drinks to make this different from the rest.

I really like Siphon, its individuality. Not only is the interior décor interesting ( and how rare that is ! ) but the owner and staff are particularly efficient and pleasant. Add to this the spectacularly good coffee and it's the sort of place that makes you feel quietly pleased for having found it. A great place to relax.

Went for a meeting here today, cracking coffee house - very friendly, oh and great coffee. We will be back.

Popped in for a quick drink & cake as a treat for my son. Lovely, friendly service & the chocolate orange cake was yummy! Will definitely visit again soon!

First time visit here today and we were both really impressed. We ate toasted sandwiches and they were both very good. The service was friendly, polite and attentive. The real strength of Siphon though is it’s coffee, when watching my drink being made I saw a level of care and pride while making my drink that you rarely see in the chain coffee shops. I had a flat white and it was excellent, so much so that I was on my second after 10 minutes. Overall I would highly recommend Siphon especially if you appreciate really great coffee.

Called in to this relatively new cafe bar to meet up with a friend for morning coffee last week. Walked in and ahead of me was a man making up a new ‘peg board’, he did look up and say good morning, which was a plus. At this moment in time, must mention a slightly farm-yard smell around......presume this is coming from the ‘sacking/hessian which is covering some of the hard wooden seats, albeit, spoken to some friends who have visited and they said they couldn’t smell it........however, l sat and sat and sat and waited for someone to come and take my order and eventually, another man (presume both men the owners?) said if l would go to the counter, he would take my order, l asked if there was no table service and he said no. That is fine but it should be made known when you walk through the door, especially as this is a new venue and also make people more welcome when they come in, something like.......good morning, have you been in before etc.......you need to go to the counter to order etc etc.....

As a regular visitor to the usual coffee shop chains, when we heard about Siphon we decided to give it a try on our way to work this morning.

We are delighted to have this lovely coffee shop so close. It's not cheap but it is quality - with cakes that are seriously good and the best gluten free we've seen. Lots of healthy snacks/light bites on offer and a good place to meet friends too.

Myself and my husband have visited Siphon on a few occasions since it opened, and we love it. Siphon is just what Rawtenstall needed. They have a great selection of drinks, cakes and light snacks. We love the cakes!

We had been on the East Lancs railway from Bury to Rawtenstall, looking for a place to have a hot drink and cake to get out of the rain as well. So glad we came across Siphon, this is a great place for anyone who is vegan or glutton free. The cakes were different than what you find in other coffee shops, excellent taste. I wanted a hot chocolate, there was a choice of 4 with different variations, I chose a 70% dark chocolate one which was lovely. Well worth a visit, everyone who was working in there are friendly and helpful.

Great independent coffee/tea house and a welcome addition to Rawtenstall. The interior has an industrial feel with wooden walls, factory style gantry lighting and clever use of coffee sacks to cover seating- works really well. Coffee is good with quality beans used. Cake selection interesting and tasty. I had the blackberry sponge cake- yum!. Sandwiches looked good and varied. Ice cold water with fresh mint provided. Lovely staff and great atmosphere, will definitely be back. Opening hours Monday to Friday 7.30- 6.30 pm, Saturday 8.30- 5.30 and Sunday 7.30- 5. Dog friendly. Free Wi-fi
