Delicious, fresh food. One of the best Pad Thai's I've had (and I've had a lot, all over the Uk)! Great service and a lovely cosy atmosphere.

This was my first experience of Thai food and I wasn't disappointed. Sing Tong Thai is an unexpected little gem, that is hidden away. The food was cooked to order and was served to us by the chef. We were not pressured to rush, which made our evening even better. I will be returning!

Singtong Thai serves lovely fresh cooked Thai meals Having visited many times I can confirm service can be a little slow. But it difficult to moan when the food is so good, and the owner is so pleasant and is often cooking and serving. A couple of things to bear in mind is the restaurant is only accessible by a steep staircase. The same for the toilets. You can only pay your bill with cash no card option is available. Visiting Singtong Thai is a relaxing pleasant experience.

The food is nice, BUT the service was shocking, we ordered our meal, starters and a main course for 2 of us. An hour and a half later, half of the starters were brought to the table, 45 minutes later the other half arrived. 40 minutes after that the main course arrived. The tables from previous diners had the plates, glasses cutlery just left on them. And it wasn't even half full and it took 3 hours to have our meal.

Having visited this restaurant on several occasions in the past, we thought it would be a good idea to book a table to celebrate a 30th birthday & wedding anniversary…. Two divorces and a 31st birthday later our prawn crackers finally arrived. Safe to say there was no urgency in getting the food in a timely manner. The mains were freshly made and delicious all be it 2.5 hours later after arriving. One chef & one waiter trying to manage a small restaurant and providing takeaway to the entire population of Diss clearly isn’t working. People collecting takeaways were leaving with their pension. I would strongly advise avoiding going on a Saturday, unless you’ve got time to spare & good company!

The service was not the fastest in this busy little restaurant but the staff were attentive and the food was excellent.

We visited as a group of six on a Friday night. The restaurant itself is intimate but has an incredibly friendly atmosphere. The starters were good but the main dishes were absolutely delicious and the spice level tailored to by personal preference. The service wasn’t slow, but not rushed which is a preference of mine. Can’t wait to go back!

Highly recommend for dining in or take out. Always amazing food, freshly cooked, great service!! Have not found a better Thai. Just a tip if you plan to eat in the restaurant, make sure you have plenty of time as the food can take a while to cook as all freshly made. Cannot fault anything though☺️

To echo what everyone else has already said in the reviews: The service here is so friendly and welcoming and the food is authentic and truly delicious. We were greeted with a lovely smile and pleasant conversation. The lady who served us the whole evening couldn't be more helpful and helped me ensure my meal was Vegan by making changes for me - without me even having to ask her first! A few notes for anyone who hasn't eaten here before: - Bring cash with you, as its a cash only restaurant! - The food is cooked fresh to order, so don't be in a rush to eat and leave - The decor feels as though you are in someone's dated living room. This doesn't take away from the meal at all, but don't expect shiny, new surroundings here. It's welcoming, authentic and doesn't try to be flashy. Overall, beautiful service, food and incredible value for money. We are so happy we found this place and can't wait to come back.

One of the best kept secrets in Diss, the only genuine Thai for miles! If you’ve been to Thailand, you’re in for a real treat, authentic Thai to take out and eat in with the usual Thai quirks you may have experienced abroad. The owner is lovely and really brings a slice of Thailand to this hidden corner of Norfolk. The food is amazing and you’ll leave happy and round like Buddha! Highly recommend!

Good food. Best dish was the duck. Good service but be prepared to wait as the two ladies run the place single handedly. One serves, one cooks.

Myself and my work colleague ate here for the night. I’ve personally travelled around Thailand and Asia and this was right up there with the best if not the best red curry I have ever eaten! The waitress was really friendly and got our spice levels to perfection. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

Good service from polite lady. Loved the room, intimate space and decor. Service was a little slow but as all reviews say it is because there is one lady serving and one lady cooking. Starter of the mixed platter was ok satay was fresh and satay sauce was amazing, ribs were tender however all the tempura prawns and toast etc was brought in. Not great! Thai green chicken curry was delicious perfect spicy and full of flavour! Coconut rice was great. Pad Thai a little dry. They allowed us to add chicken to our pad Thai which is accommodating. I would go back but stick to curry and rice.

So love this place. Very authentic with such lovely service. I’m reluctant to tell people because it is a bit hidden! Can’t take many people as it is just upstairs in a house. A great place but it is upstairs and it isn’t a romantic setting. I don’t care because the food is excellent and I love the people here

Suk is the waitress and hubby is the cook. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is friendly. But be prepared to wait for your order, no fast food here. The cost of our meal for two was £50 with drinks. 3 mains and 2 starters all excellently prepared. On the again list.

I love this place. Don’t go if you are in a rush, but do go if you want superbly fresh cooked food, entertaining and personal service and a great night out. There were 8 of us and that did cause some lengthy time between ordering and eating, but who cares? Didn’t hear a microwave and the food was lovely. Why rush? I loved it!

Really wonderful food, but the wait for takeaway is ridiculous. The last two times we’ve visited we had to wait almost an hour for our food after getting to the restaurant. If it wasn’t for this, I’d probably visit every week. Perhaps state longer delivery times when the order is placed. I’d much rather wait at home than for an hour in the restaurant!

I recently ordered takeaway here as my local Thai was too busy for my custom! So I went on Google (as you do) and discovered this little gem, I was overwhelmed by how good it was! If you want authentic Thai food with all the beautiful, delicate flavours, this won't disappoint. The price didn't dissapoint either, very good value for money. Needless to say I won't be visiting my 'local' anymore as it has become a victim of it's own success; expensive and the service has suffered. I will be giving Singapore Tong Thai my business from now on, I highly recommend. 10/10.

This was my first experience of Sing Tongs! And I was not disappointed! From the outside it looks small, but I was so surprised when I went upstairs and found a lovely good sized restaurant. The restaurant is family run and has a wonderful homely atmosphere. The staff were so kind and the cook even came to my table to discuss my gluten free food! The food was amazing, it is all cooked fresh and you could tell because it was delicious! I can't wait to go back once lockdown is over!! Thank you Sing Tong and staff!

Had a takeaway from Sing Tong last night, used to go to this restaurant when it opened in the 80s and loved it. I was not disappointed by the food this time either. It was fantastic, great service too. Will definitely be back

Fantastic, authentic thai food in a relaxed atmosphere

Having read great reviews of this restaurant we booked a table for dinner . Entry was via a steep narrow staircase ( with a bell at the bottom of the stairs to alert staff for takeaway collection - we thought ) . Room at the top was filled with a large party ( two households??) and we had no room to distance ourselves from them on entry or from takeaway customers exiting . We were seated in another section often with customers waiting in excess of 30 mins past their given takeaway collection time. The large party took time to serve & our meal took forever - over 21/2 hrs for soup & stirfry. With hindsight we should have left but there was little choice to eat elsewhere. Restaurant was totally overwhelmed. Would never return .

Always book Saturday lunch. Quietest time and we love the flavours and menu choices. Very attentive staff and had excellent meal, can't fault it. Well recommended. Please note this restaurant is on first floor with only stair access so those with mobility issues will struggle. For us it was worth the climb. Wonderful.

I never write reviews and have been coming to this restaurant for sit down and take away for years. We have had to wait in times before but you would think she would learn and either stop takeaways on a very busy Saturday night and concentrate on the restaurant occupants. One person taking orders serving drinks and dishing up food and take aways and serving food is not possible - they need extra help. We have been coming so many years now and the food is always exceptional but on a nice Saturday evening out to have the server/owner moaning and apologising so much and having to keep asking repeatedly for drinks and food it ruined our evening and don’t feel we will return so sad. It was very embarrassing to see it at what could be such a successful little business and everyone was getting angry.

We booked a table for 7.00 pm and arrived at 6.45 . There were already 4 tables waiting . Our drinks order was not taken until 7.30 some 45 minutes. We gave our food order when we were brought our drinks . Our starters arrived at 8.30 one hour later . Many tables were waiting longer as the night went on due to the owner taking very large take away orders one of which contained 17 dishes. We finally received our at main course 9.45 and though I ordered a mild curry I received a very hot one which I I had to leave . Many people were complaining as they also waited over 2 1/2 hours . They must decide if they want to run a take away or a sit down restaurant as they clearly cannot do both . We have been here many times before but never waited that long . Some couples who had booked babysitters were thinking of leaving . Unfortunately I and I would imagine at least 4 other tables would not visit again .

Great authentic Thai food cooked on the spot. Could be warmer on a winter's evening. Very welcoming owner and servers. Stairs to restaurant very steep so may not be good for any disability .

Had some wonderful and flavoursome food here, but we visited on a freezing evening and the restaurant was only a degree or two higher than outside.

Absolutely love their food. The place always remind me of my trip to Thailand years ago. The lady who owns the place is very warm and friendly. The only downside is that the wait can be a bit long but the food is well worth it.

It was my first visit to this restaurant, but a couple of my friends had been before & one of them goes regularly. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the service was really good, the waitress was very attentive. She event asked beforehand if anybody in our group had any food allergies ~ very important.

I've been here a few times over the years and I must say the food has always been really good and much better than most. It has a bit of a reputation for being very slow and making you wait a long time for your food, but everything they serve has been cooked to order, so when they're busy on a Saturday night then yes, you should give yourself plenty of time and have a few drinks while you wait, but other times when it's not so busy the wait isn't too long at all. Either way it's worth the wait.

I have not been here for 20 years and did read the reviews before going. I agree with majority its a lovely little place and very busy on a Saturday. Food was yummy and relaxed everyone was laughing how busy it is.

Friendly service from the owner and staff of this local Thai restaurant. Could just as easily be a typical English café by first appearances with a slightly ramshackle and mismatched furniture and decor. Standard menu, the food is lovely. Cash only, be prepared for fairly narrow turning staircase to the first floor.

Popped in for quick meal. Have to say their food is excellent- proper thai food and one of the best Tom Yum Goong's I've ever had (nearly as good as Mrs T home made version). Have to say that wait time was fine, especially as their food is made from scratch. Will definitely go again

Lovely little authentic Thai restaurant. Great food and service. Starters, Mains and sides as well as 2 bottles of wine for 4 of us came to just under £100, fantastic. Very small and intimate place, perfect for dining and chatting! Only downside, is that it is located on the first floor so I would imagine it is not accessible for all. The toilet out the back was VERY cold considering the cold weather we have just had. It felt like being outside. This place is cash only, so make sure you take some or you'll have to run down to the cash point down the road. Will be back again soon!

If it's good food you're after, then this is the restaurant for you. The dishes are simply excellent, with a broad selection. We came with a large group but pre-ordered which is definitely the way to do it if you re a big group - the owner will even open on a night when they are normally closed if your group is large enough. Some of the dishes will be familiar from chinese restaurants, but done with a thai twist: the sweet and sour chicken is subtly different from what you get in a good chinese. It's delicious, and the quality of the meat is noticeably better than what is sometimes served elsewhere. The duck was also very good, as were the egg fried noodles.

Me and my loved ones love this place. The food is the best. Always a very nice atmosphere and a very pleasant experience.

I’d booked a table for my birthday having read the great reviews and Thai being my all time favourite cuisine. Having arrived at 7.30 as booked we waited an hour and a half for our starters. There only seemed to be one person on front of house and one in the kitchen with 3 tables of 5 plus and several other smaller groups. I have no problem waiting for an order to be taken but lack of staff or unbelievable wait time not being mentioned is hard to forgive. We were served our main courses at 10 pm by which time we’d gone past the point of being hungry Really disappointed that a special evening left me feeling mortified for my guests who had arrived looking forward to a great meal. I’m sure this isn’t their normal standard of service but basic customer service severely lacking at if we’d been told there would be a wait of 2.5 hours for our main meal we would have gone elsewhere. No apology or explanation given so wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. It’s a shame as the majority of the food was great when it did arrive but that kind of wait is just not acceptable.

I went to the singsong restaurant as a party of three about 2 weeks ago and had a nice time. The host and owner i am guessing was very nice and showed us to our seats.

We booked this for 12 of us and the food and service was great ! Perfect for a family dinner. Kids loved the great variation of food! Definitely recommend a visit here.

Tenía un precioso llevar el curry con arroz de coco y estaba delicioso. Señora era amable y servicial, y no tuve que esperar demasiado tiempo. A un precio razonable.

100% este restaurante a cualquiera que esté buscando alta calidad, auténtica, deliciosa comida tailandesa. Todo es muy razonable y el servicio es inigualable. Son muy atentos, y es tan personal como normalmente sólo hay uno el personal de la recepción, que es precioso, ya que te hace sentir realmente atendidos. Toda la comida es increíble, tienen, en su mayoría, dieron la fuente y tailandés mezclado amarillo comenzó curry que son perfectas. Fui para mi cumpleaños 20 y incluso me dieron un regalo al final! Sinceramente no puedo explicar lo bonito que es, debe ir si en diss.

Fui con un amigo anoche y ambos tuvimos el más delicioso, comida fresca. El pad Thai, curry, jengibre cerdo y sopa Tom yum eran para morirse! Además tiene un precio muy razonable.

Llegamos antes de que el restaurante estaba abierto pero recibieron sentados y servidos con bebidas. Tuvimos una comida más deliciosos entrantes platos principales y postres maravillosos :-)

Los informes siguientes, tripadvisor bueno decidimos probar el restaurante tailandés Singtong y no nos decepcionó. Es pequeño, íntimo y peculiar, y una experiencia que no debe perderse. La comida era auténtica y deliciosa y a un precio muy razonable. Al ser un restaurante tan pequeño, es la pena reservar con antelación para garantizar una mesa.
