The food was brilliant and when we got there to pick up the food the little girl called Cathrine was especially kind and friendly They even chipped in free spring rolls and prawn cracker 🫶

Very poor, something has changed, and not for the better. Spent £50, and I think £30 went in the bin ! We all thought it didn’t taste right, it just tasted off. Will not be using them again

Ordered online as usual and payment taken online. I waited an hour over the expected delivery time and decided to drive to the store as nobody was answering the phone. Arrived to find the store closed with no way of contacting them and no way of getting a refund.

Take away on Friday 19/04/2024 approximately 6pm. Cash only which was a bit frustrating but with Tesco over the road with a cash point, it wasn’t a massive problem, more an inconvenience. Ordered and received food within about 15 minutes which considering it was 6pm, was pretty good. Beef curry, king prawn curry, special chow mein, boiled rice and prawn toast. All came to around £30 and was pretty decent. No complaints at all. Portions were good and quality not bad at all. Overall a decent Chinese take away, good value for money and prompt service.

We selected our dishes on line. 3 out of the 4 of the items we ordered were incorrect. The rice dish which was supposed to be chicken and pork fried rice contained no meat and was inedible. Seriously. The king prawn sweet and sour we ordered, well, we couldn't decide whether it was pork or tough chicken, contained in a thick glutinous batter. Yuck. And the Singapore vermicelli we ordered, was a squid and vegetable something. Easy mistake! We rang to complain as we thought we had received somebody else's order, but the guy who answered couldn't understand what I was saying, so I hung up. Congratulations you have our worst Chinese EVER award! £30 down the swanny.

Ordered for the first time tonight and I can honestly say it's the best Chinese I've ever had! Won't go anywhere else now, excited to try the other items on the menu! The lady I spoke to on the phone and the lady who delivered were so friendly and helpful! Can't fault this place at all :)

Nice, small and quite tidy place where you can order a Chinese dish from a huge range of options! I have order House Special Chow Mein which was cooked rapidly and served in a plastic container with a fork. The dish was not expensive at all. Unfortunately, there's no place to sit and eat around, so the best option would be to pre-order and take the food home. The food itself was warm enough and surprisingly delicious that made my stomach full. House Special Chow Mein: Stir-fried noodles with peas and fried onions, a couple of prawns and meat slices, black bean sauce. I cannot see any big drawbacks. This establishment definitely recommend to ppl who want to take a rest from cooking, but still want to eat something tasty and extraordinary at home. 👍🏻

Always order lemon chicken but this time it was dry and had little sauce to go on it. Also this time, I decided to try "omelet with shrimp with vegetables" can't remember the name but it was nice. every time we Always get the 4 Peanut butter chicken things and this is always nice, but wish it was slight a bit more spicy can vary a lot the level of heet. Sorry about me forgetting the names of what we ordered.

Woke in the middle of the night violently sick. Only felt better once tummy empty. Can't put the experience down to anything else I'm afraid. I do not like leaving reviews like this but feel I need to.

Not only have the prices gone up, the portion size has shrunk considerably!!. Used to be able to share a chow mein between two people. Now it comes in the box you would get rice in, enough for one person now if that. Rubbish. Food tasted good though other than that.

Their food is delicious every time, they are dedicated to ensuring you have the right food and are always very welcoming. We order from them every few weeks and have nothing bad to say. Cash payments only, but with Tesco across the road that is no problem.

It seems to be hit or miss weather the food is good or not, I've been there and really enjoyed my takeaway whilst a week later had same dish and it's been really poor. They don't do local delivery either and only take cash, no cards or cheques. They are polite in there and service is quick.

We have used this take-away for over twenty years: not because it is particularly good, but because it is conveniently local. No more. It came to a head in September when I drove home and found a dish incomplete (crispy duck had no pancakes, salad or sauce). They then mucked us about first promising (on the phone) the missing items and a refund; then when I arrived they just looked blank, but they would find the missing items. After I complained that I had been much inconvenienced they reluctantly offered £4. After waiting forever for them to organise some pancakes, salad and sauce, had £3 with great surliness thrust into my hand. The problem is with this kind of event is that it reminds you of the (a few) times that they have got the order wrong before, and the (many many) times the food was less than average - too dry, or too greasy, or bland, or not correctly tasting. Not prepared to put up with it just because they are local. Have since found several chinese takeaways that actually deliver (Sings Kitchen don’t) and will be using them instead. In fact should have stopped using Sings long ago, especially after the poor 2/5 council hygiene rating in January 2014. And yes, the food this evening was rubbish - boiled rice you could slice, bland curry, greasy chow main. But I could not face going back again to complain. And indeed will never be going back at all.

We visited the Queens Head Pub in Gloucester this evening for what was supposed to be a warm and memorable farewell party, but sadly, the experience left much to be desired. We had booked a table for 8 well in advance, but two additional people joined us last minute, something that’s not uncommon at gatherings. Instead of accommodating this small change with a bit of flexibility, the lady serving us acted more like a strict hostel warden than a friendly host. The attitude was brusque, unwelcoming and lacked hospitality completely. Rather than taking care of us with a smile, we were met with a sour expression and curt comments about our party size. While they arranged for a table for 10 after some discussion, soon it was announced that food choices were limited to mains only ( at 8 pm). No sides or starters were available, very strange and unlike other pubs in and around. Adding to this, when one of the friends picked a chips from another’s plate we were immediately told off saying food cannot be shared and an extra service charge will be added. Instead of helping us find a solution, made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The rudeness didn't stop there; throughout the evening, this person seemed impatient. It genuinely felt like we were being chastised for daring to enjoy ourselves. The food itself was average at best, but any enjoyment we might have had was completely overshadowed by the poor service. At a time when we wanted to celebrate and relax, we were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. A little courtesy and flexibility go a long way in hospitality, and unfortunately, Queens Head seemed to lack both. If you're looking for a pub with a friendly atmosphere and accommodating staff, I’d recommend steering clear of this one. We left disappointed and regretting choosing this venue for such an important occasion.

Filthy dirty and thick with dust, paint work etc looks like it's never been cleaned. Appalled! Stupidly thought I'd give this place a second chance as we frequently travel between Chester and Plymouth and this is approximately half way. Today they turned us away informing us that they were running low on food and walk in customers are not their priority! Unbelievable that any hospitality business can be running low on food before breakfast is finished and don't value paying customers. Needless to say, I'll be taking my business somewhere that is deserving my custom.
