Simply scrumptious in Fife

I visited this café today with my friend, we are both dairy intolerant and there were no cakes/ biscuits or even a dairy free milk substitute to have in our tea, I thought that all restaurant's were supposed to offer this service, the staff were very unsympathetic and offered me crisps, I will tell all my friends and family NOT to visit.

Ya en el lugar antes de los sofás para café por surgió de la ciudad - Delicioso es concurrida, bien de precio y bien distribuida. Los tés de la tarde aquí son una delicia con polvo para hornear cafeterías. Sin duda merece la pena una visita!

Si quieres una comida sabrosa precioso a un precio muy razonable, entonces este es el lugar a visitar a mi marido iba al hospital al día siguiente y queríamos una comida especial, así que visitamos este lugar y realmente disfrutamos de las comidas muy bien rápido y cocinado y caliente. Mmm

Ni siquiera sabía que este lugar era aquí, hasta que vimos un amigo en FB fotos post y decidí probar. Mi marido y yo estábamos muertos y pre-té de la tarde reservé el día antes por la fresas. Decidió añadir la sopa y estaba delicioso! Cafe precioso y concurrido. Un personal atento y amable. Bocadillos eran agradables y decentes, pero bollos rellenos, fresas, crema, pasteles eran para morirse. Todo servido con un montón de té. Volveremos. 💗

Una pequeña cafetería que sirve comidas caseras, sándwiches, pasteles, etc. He tenido almuerzo aquí varias veces y siempre ha sido abundante y muy sabrosa. Ambiente pequeño pero muy acogedor. Sólo tenía un buffet para reunirse 18 voluntarios voluntarios Servicio Real. La comida y el servicio era excelente! Precio muy razonable y de excelente calidad y gran variedad de sándwiches frescos, suculentas piezas de pollo, se deshacen en la boca, sabrosa quiche rollos de salchicha. Abundante variedad de tartas, pasteles y chocolates después de Misa del Gallo y la cena completa con un tablet PC, suministro de té y café. Muchos voluntarios no conocía esta casa de café, pero dicho volveré para comer. Está escondido fuera del camino cerca de Asda y los garajes, pero bien merece la pena una visita.

excellent place to have a quick lunch, the soup is homemade as are all the cakes and scones. Had to stop myself from looking at all the other plates of food being served and concentrate on my own. The staff are always very friendly

I have visited just the once for afternoon tea which was very good food wise and price wise ,the service is always first class ....... Breakfast is simply scrumptious ,good food piping hot and the coffee to die for ......I participate most mornings

I brought my mum her and we shared the afternoon tea option. Considering this is meant for one person, there was more than enough between us. Great selection, fresh and staff were lovely. No-one chasing us out the door and it was nice the waitress chatted to all her customers.

Visit here regularly and its a gem of a place. Lovely staff and yummy food. Good portions and great value. Great variety of scones. Well worth a visit!

It is a bit out of the way. Hidden beside factory units and car showrooms. Nothing to write home about.

Our waitress today was very sour faced, didn't look like she was having a good time. Had more salad than my toastie and my chips were blatantly reheated. Thought we'd finish with a nice cake but that was very soft. Not coming back, although the design of the place is nice.

Went here for the first time with my friends and I was enjoying my macaroni until I found a black hair in amongst my macaroni. I was immediately put off and didn't eat the rest. Other than that it's a nice enough place but the ladies really should be wearing hair nets. I won't be returning.

Go here with my friend Elaine often for coffee, can't fault it. Fiona, Rena and all the girls are lovely. Always made to feel welcome. Nothing is a bother. Highly recommend.

First visit to place with a friend. From location and outside wasn't expecting much inside, however I was surprised to find it decorated to a high standard inside with a variety of comfy seating. Staff were friendly. We ordered 2 cups of tea and 2 fruit scones. The scones are homemade but the staff member confirmed that the tablet and some other cakes were shop bought. Scones were warm and tasted good. The bill was £8.50 which i felt was a tad expensive for what we had. Will revisit for lunch sometime to see what that's like.

Lunch with the family ,I must say I enjoy coming here whether a coffee and a sticky bun or for lunch like today. attractive if small menu but look out for the specials this is a highly popular cafe restaurant situated on the edge of the Mitchelson Industrial estate on Waverly Road. The decor is modern and has a nice feel to it with dining chair and tables and also soft armchairs to enjoy you tea & coffee .....Order at the counter with your table number and you will be met with friendly service and a smile . Fast and efficient they have it down to a fine art ....there is more than ample parking around the back

Myself and my husband have been visiting this Coffee House for some time now and have enjoyed every single visit. The food is delicious, everything cooked from fresh and presented very well. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The cakes are homemade too and the choice is varied. As far as I am concerned, this place is definitely one of the best in the town.

A regular since it opened always had excellent service. Good service and child friendly and has it's own car park. Great place for meeting friends over coffee.

I have recently visited the above and found it nice and clean ,friendly staff , food was fine , toasties were a bit disappointing and felt it was just a bit over priced.

Excellent place to drop in for a soup and a sandwich or try their home baking. On leaving make sure you buy some of their tablet amazing!!!

Who writes these reviews. Most if not all soup is bought in as well as all cakes, etc.etc.all purchased from local supermarkets or bought in from a supplier do not be fooled about everything being home made , this is not true

Been there twice this week and loved the food. Great find. I'm look forward to trying the afternoon tea which looked fantastic.

Have been here numerous times and it delvers superb food time and time again.Everything is freshly cooked homemade food which lives up to the billing of simply scrumptious.The menu has something for everyone from a full meal to coffee and a cake. We cant recommend you trying here high enough.

Having stayed in the area for 9 years glad that we found this lovely cafe. Over the past few years have passed it many times and always said we were going to give it a try. Visiting some of the garages look for a new car we decided to go in for a coffee. Lovely place clean very friendly and lovely home bakes. I had a fruit scone which was warm when it came and my hubby had a lovely cake. There is a sitting area outside also. We didn't have any hot food but the menu looked very good and will definitely call again for lunch. Of course we had to buy some cakes to take home...delicious worth a visit.

Popped in here on several occasions for lunch. The service is excellent and the food delicious. Staff very friendly and attentive. Plenty of space to park and suits customers of all ages. We'll worth a visit.

Simply Scrumptious is a lovely coffee shop. The food is delicious and it has a lovely atmosphere. Fiona and her staff make everyone welcome. I have been going since the week it opened with my gran daughters, and will be going back again and again.

The location was a bit of a surprise and the visit for tea and scone was amazingly good. Home bakes, freshly cooked meals, and friendly staff - will definitely go back - soon.

What a surprise. Popped in for a quick lunch with work collegues expecting the usual chips etc, but found a lovely menu and home baking. Had a very tasty plate of macaroni, excellent smooth coffee and yummy slice of home baked sponge. Not great for the waistline. It is based in the old canteen of part of the old Fife college I think but inside it is very smart, fresh and clean. Worth a wee drive up and plenty of parking round the back.

Ideal place to drop in for lunch but be warned the helpings are huge. Homemade soup always on the menu and stovies, look it up! A wide selection of cakes and scones are also available for those of us not on diets. The only problem is because they are so busy you might not be able to get a table

From the outside Simply Scrumptious is somewhat unassuming, however the food, decor and overall atmosphere are a world away from the busy main road outside.They have a varied and unique menu, and the high teas are definitely worth trying! On my second visit I had stovies - which were amazing, far better than any I've ever tasted or made myself, with real beef and a subtle peppery taste - beautiful. They are fully licensed too, so there's always the option of a lazy and boozy lunch should you fancy - the girls and I will probably try this soon!!Simply Scrumptious offer lunch options a little more exciting than all the other pubs and hotels in the town, the quality of food here makes everywhere else seem mediocre. They now do evening meals too, which I look forward to trying.Whilst they may not be the cheapest option for lunch in he town, the atmosphere, ingredients used and high standard of all food definitely equates to good value for money.Please visit an try the food - you won't regret it.

This is an amazing wee restaurant. It has lovely fresh food made to order. It has one of the best lattes i have ever had and it is always hot. The choice is good and very reasonably priced. Def go back.

On my sons recommendation we dropped in here for lunch .the restaurant is located on an industrial estate .It is well lit and has a welcoming atmosphere where if you want a discreet table there are nice wee corners to sit in . A nice varied menu and lip smacking specials they have a licence and were busy when we went in at 12.00. our downfall was to go in for a soup and a sandwich and were sucked in to a full lunch . I had a Superb steak Baguette and my wife had a huge portion of Macaroni and chips our wee girl had nice selection of food to pick from the Childrens menu. The service was fast and very friendly .We have no trouble recommending this to anyone and will certainly be back soon

After driving past the unexciting exterior of this restaurant previously, sited in an industrial estate on a busy road, we were really expecting more of a greasy spoon when we decided on whim to try it, what a pleasant surprise we had inside. The décor is tasteful and comfortable, we were able to relax and chat and the staff were lovely and very attentive. The food itself was excellent, all homemade and delicious, we had a main course each and took cakes away home with us as we were stuffed, the portions were so generous (and the most delicious home made chips we've had in years). Looking at the other comments I can only say we didn't find it overpriced but perhaps it may be perceived to be because of its unusual location! We have already recommended it to family and friends and we will definitely be back. Soon!

I visited simply scrumptious with a couple of friends for lunch. The place itself is beautiful and tastefully decorated and comfortable. Although there is a good selection of food on the menu, many of the items were a bit overpriced for what you were getting. I ordered the haggis tweeds as a starter for £4.95, I received 3 small and overcooked haggis balls drizzled with a little bit of whiskey sauce and served with a side salad. We all got served our starters and our main meal at the same time, meaning by the time we'd eaten our starter our main was cold. I had a baked potato for my main which cost me £6.95, it did taste nice but I think almost £7.00 for a baked potato and side salad is too much. You do not get table service and order the food yourself at the till, which is fine but we did have to wait whilst people came in to order takeaway food from the same till. There are other restaurants in Kirkcaldy that are much better value for money with regards to the quality of the food served, the service and the price!

A little hideaway that ticked all the boxes. Downside is that you do need a car to get there but it was a lovely ambient place to have a long catch up lunch with my friend. We shared a simple snack of toasties, coffee and lovely home made cake. The staff were friendly and the decor was American diner style.

Expected this to be your usual coffee shop inside but it was so much nicer. We stopped in for coffee and cake and I was so glad we did. Cakes were home made and totally delicious. My boyfriend had a bacon roll and said it was really good. Hope to return soon and maybe have lunch. Well worth trying.
