Lack of choice on menu. Poor service.

Family run Italian restaurant with a lovely reasonably priced menu with lots of GF options for me. The flourless chocolate cake is divine! They have a Rat Pack tribute singer regularly too. Went last night. Great evening, highly recommended.

Such a dated menu. Overpriced drinks and food. Front of house guy really needs to smarten himself up! Used to love it here but the food is all very samey and the menu needs to really change now and the place is grubby. Rat pack nights used to be great but again same singer same food and just boring now.

Been a little while since visiting this lovely restaurant, we all had different meals and all said how lovely they were. The special tonight was salmon and mushroom tagliatelle and it was really lovely I had a starter size one as I know how large the portions are and it was still plenty. Husbands spaghetti bolognaise he said best he’s had in a while. Great welcome as we entered and staff attentive and friendly great atmosphere, looking forward to going back soon.

What a lovely surprise. Literately just got back from this lovely authentic Italian restaurant. We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from our server. She was friendly, helpful and very professional ( and funny). We had 4 different dishes between us and each one was to a high standard. It was very quiet when we ate but looks like the place to be when busy. Busy or quiet I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to our next visit and especially the live music evenings. Thank you all for a lovely experience. See you soon.

I use Simply on a daily basis. I love the atmosphere and the very friendly staff. It is my go to place if friends visit. It is worth talking to the manager before you visit if you want something special cooked. They always try to accommodate you

Poor food quality lazy manager and bored staff

Absolutely wonderful. The staff are all friendly and made you feel so welcome! The pizza was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. I cannot recommend enough !

Have always eaten here for years when at Sovereign Harbour, but this time we were inside. It's a great family atmosphere since there's often Italians in to eat and the staff have always been very friendly and attentive. This time we asked if we could video the pizza making for our grandaughters - we send them videos of all kinds of things we do since they live about 250 miles away, and the chef was very obliging. Always love pizza as the best fast food you can get, and the pizzas are big and you can aee them being done.

Made a booking for Sunday lunch time. Was not too crowded & choice of food was good. Staff were very pleasant & welcoming & service was excellent. Will definitely use again.

We had such a wonderful evening at Simply Italian. There were 7 of us, my husband and I, our 3 children (11,10,7) and my parents. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, patient with our large group and very accommodating. The atmosphere was fun, relaxed and friendly. The pizzas were fabulous, as was the risotto and the chicken. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough. Thanks for such a lovely, special evening.

What a terrible restraurant! On our way back from taking our granddaughter to her afternoon riding lesson, we stopped here for a bite to eat. As an elderly gentleman, who has spent many years of his life in Italia, I expected this authentic looking Italian restaurant to serve up some delicious and fresh Italian food. Instead, what we received appeared and tasted like nothing more than plain microwave food. We could have picked up a nicer meal from ASDA, just around the corner. I suppose the pasta must have been pre-cooked and sat around for a long time, because it had the texture of mashed potato, and our poor granddaughter's pizza made her feel quite unwell. You wouldn't think a regular margherita pizza could be so foul. What made things worse was that we felt too uneasy to raise these problems with the staff, as they appeared quite unfriendly. One large man in particular looked so menacing that I feared he would knock me for six if we grumbled about our food. We will certainly not return here, and will recommend our friends do not visit.

Had an early coffee here,superb. Staff were so accommodating and friendly. Very clean.

Salvatore is the host with the most. He manages a great team. The best pizza in Eastbourne. Service and ambience to match. Our favourite Italian restaurant.

You should be very proud of your restaurant and staff. Earlier in the month, we met up with friends we hadn't seen for over 12 years. We all thought the food was lovely, as where the staff. It all made for a great atmosphere. Since then, we tried another Italian restaurant ( I will mention no names). I had the lasagne and tiramisu and they were not a patch on yours. We were also amazed at the staff who, although very friendly, were wandering around with track suit bottoms on and didn't ask anyone once how they were enjoying their food. I think they need to come to you for training!

Best harbour restaurant in my opinion with bonus of actually being dog friendly not like others where you have to sit outside. Only criticism is that it would be nice if they mixed up their entertainment evenings as it’s always the same, a variety of singers would be welcomed by many of the locals.

Table wasn't even set when we arrived. Service wasnt great, had to ask to order our drinks and staff dodnt even show a smile on their face. No cutlery given for our mains as we had starters first. Food was OK, just standard Italian food, risotto wasn't even cooked, just hard rice.

I took 32 international students to celebrate the end of their term and 5 teachers to Simple Italian yesterday and we was blown away with the service! Inside the restaurant is very cute and sat our big group very comfortably. The staff were super friendly and helpful and not to mention the food! We all had a starter, main and a dessert and every single dish that was served was incredible!!! Thank you so much for your hospitality we will be back!!!

Wonderful evening . Very busy with a few large tables which added to the atmosphere. We are regulars here and always enjoy the food and service , but this time it was a delight to be served by our favourite waitress Tina who we knew from else where . She is an added bonus to this restaurant. Always so happy and hard working. The food is simple delicious Italian cuisine . We would recommend this place for anyone to go and try

Lovely place, enjoyed our meal here. Staff are nice and welcoming and the food was ok. Portions are on the small size though. Pizza was small with very few toppings.

Too many chips/pasta and not enough vegetables and sea food.

Great restaurant, food and service. It is a popular place and, when full, can be noisy but this doesn't take away from its appeal.

The best consistent fresh simple Italian food and service always sublime! They always notice when my beer morretti has run dry and come to offer more. Another bonus is they don't come over to say 'is everything ok' when you've just stuffed your face with food haha!

Excellent food, outstanding service and dog friendly (special doggy ice cream available). Highly recommended for all occasions. Ours (and Loki's) favourite Restaurant.

We went for the Rat Pack night and it was fabulous. Food was great, hot and served quickly. Plenty of serving staff and staff joined in with the singing.

Great food great atmosphere great service as always

We were a walk in at 17:30 on a Friday and the gentleman host could not have been more inviting. Food was really good. We shared a large garlic bread with mozzarella and onion, Risotto for main and the most amazing tiramisu for dessert. 1L of house white and a Birra Moretti. Had we not had a disastrous booking in experience at the Harvester (where we left immediately) we would not have found this gem.

On a very hot and busy Saturday evening the staff were still cheerful and efficient, reflecting the managers bubbly and friendly personality, which gave it the same relaxing and happy atmosphere it always has. The food was excellent and served in good time. What more can you ask for!

Not the best place at all. Go to pablos instead. We came in for food but didn’t get menus and were told to seat ourselves. We ended up just staying for drinks (3 coffees) but we didn’t have a menu to look at so had to guess what was on the menu. Coffees weren’t very nice at all. Shame cuz environment seems nice

Fantastic food, presented well, portion size great, reasonably priced. Great hospitality, staff were friendly, welcoming, attentive and professional. View from the restaurant also very nice consisting of a yacht park. All in all, definitely worth a visit and I will most definitely be returning.

Visited this little gem on Monday Bank holiday with a couple of friends, and although the busy environment we had a delightful dining experience- Luna the lovely and friendly waitress was very caring for our needs and made our dining experience easy. The food was also delicious especially the meetballs they were to die for. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!

Update. After getting a response from this review. I did email them twice, explaining I did bring it up at the time and felt ignored and embarrassed in front of people. My son is very sensitive and it upset him too. I said just let me know what you need for kids food refund as will except. Thanks. Not heard anything back from them at all. Looks like that response was just for people reading the reviews!! Food was mostly good and originally staff nice. Chips not great. My son ordered pizza and we got chips for the table (3 of us) Unfortunately my son did not like the pizza so I asked if he could have just a couple of fish fingers as already had chips. They said said OK. They then bought out fish fingers and chips. I said we just wanted fish fingers but got a shrug. Then when the bill came they charged us for another kids meal. Kids meal includes food, drink with ice cream £8.50. I had already told my son we would get pudding elsewhere and wasn't worried about paying for the one ice cream we didn't want. No warning that we would have to pay for a whole new meal. Also when the fish fingers came out my son just grabbed one and burned his month as was so hot. Not impressed so spoke to management who said as I ordered it I would have to pay for a second full kids meal £8.50. I said I was not warned that when I asked for just some fish fingers. I did not even want the ice cream or extra drink. So I said we will just get the kids ice cream and not go somewhere else. Got 2 kids ice cream that wasn't that nice. So my son was so upset by this point we just paid and left. We took the kids drink to go. Was told it was the lemonade I had but definitely wasn't tasted wrong. Just 3 lunches one was kids came to over £50. The adults did not get puddings or alcohol. So very over priced and a disappointing experience. My son says disappointing manners.

worse managment i ever come cross lets leave the food out of this review ,,,,,but thanks for one guy only ( the assistant manager guess his name is salvatore) we had a very very bad night out ...the guy should be keep in a cage !!!!!is really rude agressive and his a shame for the restaurant owner to be rappresent from such a squalid person !!!so before you go there make sure if you want a nice night out that the guy is off !!!!i will never ever forgot him !!!!hope i dont see him ever again !!!

booked a table here for mothers day greeted warmly lovely table with views of the harbour.Ordered some marinated olives to start then my mother and i had the seafood pasta which was yum packed with squid clams and mussels and a big gamba prawn with drinks bill came to £45 recommend

10 of us & a baby had lunch. Very nice. Happy waitress. Sat outside & the weather was glorious which helped. Will be back when in the area.

Cool place, I liked that it’s completely dog friendly and you could see many pups under the tables enjoying the heat indoors on a chilly day like today. The pizza was ok, electric oven. The tiramisù was a bit watery. We’ll come back because the service was very friendly and we’ll try another dessert next time. Thank you.

Terrible service for Mothering Sunday. Waitress was rude. Food was bad. Couldn't eat my main course. Couldn't make a complaint as the mother in law classes that as her favourite place. Then to add a service charge automatically onto the bill, was just the final insult.

Been 2/3 times now. Still don’t rate the food. Not authentic. Went for Rat Pack Evening with group of friends. Great atmosphere and we all enjoyed that. I had the cannelloni. It was tasteless. The waffle dessert came with 2 scoops of the cheapest soft scoop ice cream and squinty cream. I thought Italian ice cream was supposed to be the best!!! Disappointing overall again.

Always friendly and welcoming, good food very reasonably priced

We used to visit all the time and used to really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, unfortunately today wasn’t the greatest visit. We were seated straight away and the host staff were fine! However the calzone was completely uncooked in the middle, the cheese was still solid and the mushrooms were raw. My dad has subsequently since been quite ill all afternoon.

I went to this restraunt at 3.30 to see if there would be space to have dinner for my girlfriend and myself. The gentleman who seemed to be the owner came up to me and said in a really aggressive tone we are closed. The sign outside the door however said they close at 5pm to my confusion. He was aggressive and irate. I talked extremely calmly and was very taken awake by his tone of voice and manorisms. I simple said thank you and walked away. I then went to the opposite restraint 'pablos' and they were lovely and more than happy to accommodate us. I told them the story and a staff member that used to work there informed us it happens all the time with people are constantly complaining about simply italians food and the attitude of their staff. I would avoid it like the plague.

I called up to book a table, the gentleman on the phone was very polite. When we arrived we were all greated with a smile and the customer service was outstanding. We all had a wonderful meal, the kids were very happy, the portion sizes were very generous for the price we paid. The food quality was excellent, the staff were very helpful, friendly and made my family feel very welcome and happy. I couldn't ask for more! Just popped in for cake and coffee. My cappuccino had a weak flavour of coffee, my husband's latte was equally as bad. Surprised as one would expect an excellent coffee in an Italian restaurant.

Just a quick stop for cake and a coffee. The cappuccinos were perfect, and chocolate cake was one of the best I've eaten. Heaven! Hubby had a vanilla cheesecake which he also enjoyed very much. Highly recommended.

I've been to the one in Rye so had high hopes. The staff were very friendly. The kitchen was very timely and made the food quickly. Unfortunately the food didn't match up to the one in Rye. It was nice enough but the main dish lacked full flavour. The Tiramissu was wet (sponge like) and again, lacked flavour. The price was good, but unfortunately I won't be going again.

Possibly the best pizza I have ever had! I felt truly spoiled and indulged having lunch at Simply Italian. What some might call a basic meal of Seafood pizza, ice cream and coffee was anything but. Truly, truly exceptional. The staff were happy, friendly and professional. The menu was just the right size with a good choice of everything from starters to pudding and everything in between. Not to much choice that your head was bamboozled with with what to choose. Perfect. Everything about the pizza was perfect. The right consistency of dough, spot on amount of toppings and the taste was superb. Even the ice cream (my favourite Pistachio) was not a cheap blend and the portion size was very generous. Yum. The espresso was hot, strong and tasty. Put all this together on a perfect, if not windy day, and you have bliss, just pure bliss. Thank you Simply Italian. Wow! The best and highly recommended.

We just ate our pizzas and lasagne. Real Italian! Good service, nice employees. But my mother went ill the night; of the lasagne. 🤮 I think i paid too much? calzone, prima vera + salami, lasagne, lemonade bottle beer and pint beer.. 51,96?
