Simply Italian in Eastbourne

Just returned from a lovely lunch cooked by Gigi. Superb! Staff all smiles and couldn't do enough to make the meal really enjoyable. Been coming here for years and each time is excellent value.

Food was nice but a bit cold. Would be better if they warmed the plates up.

Dean the singer is very good and he gets Salavador ( who has an amazing voice ) to sing along with Gi Gi and other staff…good fun… This event is so popular it gets fully booked….so don’t miss out…

A lovely friendly restaurant such a great experience the staff are very helpful and friendly, the food is delicious and the situation on the harbour is excellent they also have fantastic music nights all in all a great night out

We did not realise that we had booked for music night - but it was a happy accident. Best night out for ages! Thank you to Dean Ager for the singing and the girls on the table near him for the dancing!

Simply Italian is a favourite of mine, the staff are always above and beyond when it comes to treating their customers. You feel a sense of family and warmth not only with the great atmosphere but also in their food. If you're down the harbour and looking for a friendly environment with great food, look no further than simply Italian.

Always good food and lovely staff

Turned up on a whim with no booking. They made room and opened up a table for me and my wife. Food was incredible and full of flavour. All staff could not be more accommodating. What a gem of a place. Highly recommend!!!

We visited at about 6.30 on a Thursday night, we took our 2 dogs, Florence and Olly with us We were welcomed in by a nice polite waitress and seated quickly. We were promptly given the menus and offered a drink, the dogs were very welcome too. We shared a Calamari started that was delicious and mushroom tagliatelle main with side of Garlic Bread with red onion sliced on top. We will return as the service was impeccable, the food great and served nice and hot. We used to go to the Italian Restaurant across from Simply Italian but we’ve had mixed experiences there and hounds are not welcome there. SI is now our go to Italian in The Harbour!

Nice food and a nice atmosphere

Dined for the first time here very early on a cold Thursday in January. Was very quiet but we were hungry at 5pm! Steady influx of people when we left. Very pleased they had a gluten free pasta option and apparently do gf pizza as well. The gf chocolate cake that was recommended I expected to be just another brownie type or mousse affair but was really really good. We both enjoyed each of our 3 courses. The two stuff working that night were very nice. Will return.

Im really disappointed to be honest. I have been coming here since I was 11 years old and I have always loved the food but today I was given mouldy olives and as someone who suffers with emetophobia which is the fear of vomiting, I am now sitting here losing it and freaking out. Please can you just sort that out before you make someone poorly. Apart from that the pizza was great but the black haired waitress is so miserable.

Our favourite dog friendly resturant. Offered a Tapas special by the ever friendly head of house Salvatore. Prepared by Chef GG. Lovely food, more than we could eat, excellent service and a good price.

Lovely food, especially the pizza

Had a cracking diner there the lasagne was to die for the service was fantastic highly recommend this place the food is fantastic.

Before going for a long walk round harbour came here for lunch. Not had a pizza in a while and we really enjoyed our margharitas, lovely thin crust and piping hot fresh out of pizza oven. Shared chips with it too which were also nice but large portion so could not get through them. Will definitely be back soon.

The young waiter today was extremely polite, friendly and professional, made our visit with our dog a very enjoyable experience. He recommended the King Prawn special today, and the Prawn was juicy and perfected cooked. This young waiter is a value asset to the restaurant. The small garlic pizza bread was very delicious, moist and garlicky in a mouth watering way. Seafood spaghetti was amazing, different to most Italian restaurant, this is like proper Italian home cooking, simple but perfectly seasoned and cooked. Calamari was fairly good, taste very fresh and the batter was light and crispy. Haven't had a decent Italian meal for a while, and was pleasantly surprised all items were high standard here. Highly recommended.

We went last night for the “ Rat pack “ evening. The staff are so friendly, the manager/owner was also amazing and was singing along with the professional singer. The food was as great as previous visit and the atmosphere was also top notch, there was a real buzz to the place. The draught beer was a little more expensive than anticipated but overall cost was reasonable. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this joyous restaurant and will definitely be returning. Ps. The singer was also very good.

Popped in without reservation around 5.30pm on Saturday Made very welcome. Varied menu, both meals and one desert worth going back again for. All the staff friendly and efficient. We'll be back with friends and family!

We have always gone to Simply Italian when ever we have come to Eastbourne. The food is always good, the staff are always friendly , but today when we called there we were very disappointed to see they now welcome dogs inside the restaurant.

An Italian restaurant in Sovereign Harbor Marina. The atmosphere is wonderful and the location is excellent. There are indoor and outdoor seating. This restaurant is part of a group of restaurants in the marina.

Really lovely atmosphere, we sat outside and looked out into the harbour. There’s both a shaded or sunny option which was nice. Food was absolutely perfect will 100% go back. Staff were also very friendly and knew what they were doing 😊

They need to rethink their tolerance regarding customers standing up and singing at the tops of their voices within the restaurant whilst there are other customers trying to eat. It was extremely off putting and I have seriously hesitated returning since that experience. Also, I'm not a fan of dogs in restaurants which is another issue that we have experienced. The food (pizzas) has reduced in quality over the last few years. After owner's response: I have just had a very rude response from the owner of this restaurant regarding my review and thoughts telling me to rather "stay at home". How extremely disrespectful, rude and uncouth. As far as we are concerned this "pub" (as he calls it) can enjoy their clientele and my family and circle of friends/colleagues will continue enjoying the wonderful menu and atmosphere at Pomodoro e Mozzarella. Sorry "Simply Italian" we all used to love you. 😔

Our party size kept on increasing, starting at 4 ending at 16… the restaurant staff were accommodating and served us with humour and good grace. Food came out at the same time, and it was all hot! Everyone had order different dishes, and they were able to meet our needs with diary requirements and alterations to the printed menu! Would highly recommend!

Found this great place while between sessions at a conference in Eastbourne. Had to add a lot of extra tables as others heard about where we were and joined us, which the staff accommodated with gusto. Food served to all 18 of us hot at the same time which was a real accomplishment! Friendly, welcoming, with tasty food and good service. Grazie mille!

When we are visiting family, we do love a lunch here it's always reliable food and the children are welcomed with a smile. We normally sit inside and look out over the marina as the wind whistles if you sit outside... the pizza is massive for children so if you have under 5 year olds just order 1 and an extra drink

we had a nice 3 course meal with a bottle of wine i had garlic mushrooms to start my partner had mussels , mains i had chicken in a sauce my partner had see food pasta, we both had pancakes for desert , we had a bottle of wine and after i had a coffee with milk the bill was £91.60 when i got home and checked the bill i was charged 20p for the milk in my coffee!!!!! WE WILL NEVER RETURN what a bloody check. its not the 20 p its the principal

Simply delish!!! Came here yesterday evening and enjoyed ever part of our meal.. family friendly, fresh food and friendly staff. Quick service and smiles all round..... can't beat pasta, pizza on the harbour. Thank you for having us. X

Best Italian restaurant I've been to.

Simply (the best) Italian in town. My wife and I love Italian cuisine and we know what true Italian food tastes like. Crispy calamari (not soggy or too much batter), masterfully made pizza - crispy, but soft and juicy at the same time. We (simply) love this place!

The coffee and pastry was a good idea. The pastry was good and warmed up But the coffee was very poor quality. I think they must have changed coffee supply since our last visit

I visited here with friends. The food is always amazing, as is the service. The only downside was the fact it's half term so there were lots of screaming and noisy children. It's very good for the price, and some starters are big enough to have as a main meal. I highly recommend you visit them if you haven't already.

As the name suggests, basic but tasty Italian food. We would say slightly adjusted for English taste. Friendly family business. Ate here a few times. Mussels followed by Italian sausages with drinkable house wine. Personally i am not a fan of dogs in restaurants.

Such a warm welcome by Salvatore! The other staff were also friendly and attentive. Lovely view across the harbour and good atmosphere with a waterside terrace, and fun decor inside, including a Vespa! We had kids pizza and bolognese, lasagne and risotto, which was really nice. Kids menu includes drinks and dessert.

Family run Italian restaurant with a lovely reasonably priced menu with lots of GF options for me. The flourless chocolate cake is divine! They have a Rat Pack tribute singer regularly too. Went last night. Great evening, highly recommended.

Such a dated menu. Overpriced drinks and food. Front of house guy really needs to smarten himself up! Used to love it here but the food is all very samey and the menu needs to really change now and the place is grubby. Rat pack nights used to be great but again same singer same food and just boring now.

Been a little while since visiting this lovely restaurant, we all had different meals and all said how lovely they were. The special tonight was salmon and mushroom tagliatelle and it was really lovely I had a starter size one as I know how large the portions are and it was still plenty. Husbands spaghetti bolognaise he said best he’s had in a while. Great welcome as we entered and staff attentive and friendly great atmosphere, looking forward to going back soon.

What a lovely surprise. Literately just got back from this lovely authentic Italian restaurant. We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from our server. She was friendly, helpful and very professional ( and funny). We had 4 different dishes between us and each one was to a high standard. It was very quiet when we ate but looks like the place to be when busy. Busy or quiet I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed. I use Simply on a daily basis. I love the atmosphere and the very friendly staff. It is my go to place if friends visit. It is worth talking to the manager before you visit if you want something special cooked. They always try to accommodate you

Absolutely wonderful. The staff are all friendly and made you feel so welcome! The pizza was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. I cannot recommend enough !

Have always eaten here for years when at Sovereign Harbour, but this time we were inside. It's a great family atmosphere since there's often Italians in to eat and the staff have always been very friendly and attentive. This time we asked if we could video the pizza making for our grandaughters - we send them videos of all kinds of things we do since they live about 250 miles away, and the chef was very obliging. Always love pizza as the best fast food you can get, and the pizzas are big and you can aee them being done.

Made a booking for Sunday lunch time. Was not too crowded & choice of food was good. Staff were very pleasant & welcoming & service was excellent. Will definitely use again.

We had such a wonderful evening at Simply Italian. There were 7 of us, my husband and I, our 3 children (11,10,7) and my parents. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, patient with our large group and very accommodating. The atmosphere was fun, relaxed and friendly. The pizzas were fabulous, as was the risotto and the chicken. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough. Thanks for such a lovely, special evening.

What a terrible restraurant! On our way back from taking our granddaughter to her afternoon riding lesson, we stopped here for a bite to eat. As an elderly gentleman, who has spent many years of his life in Italia, I expected this authentic looking Italian restaurant to serve up some delicious and fresh Italian food. Instead, what we received appeared and tasted like nothing more than plain microwave food. We could have picked up a nicer meal from ASDA, just around the corner. I suppose the pasta must have been pre-cooked and sat around for a long time, because it had the texture of mashed potato, and our poor granddaughter's pizza made her feel quite unwell. You wouldn't think a regular margherita pizza could be so foul. What made things worse was that we felt too uneasy to raise these problems with the staff, as they appeared quite unfriendly. One large man in particular looked so menacing that I feared he would knock me for six if we grumbled about our food. We will certainly not return here, and will recommend our friends do not visit.

You should be very proud of your restaurant and staff. Earlier in the month, we met up with friends we hadn't seen for over 12 years. We all thought the food was lovely, as where the staff. It all made for a great atmosphere. Since then, we tried another Italian restaurant ( I will mention no names). I had the lasagne and tiramisu and they were not a patch on yours. We were also amazed at the staff who, although very friendly, were wandering around with track suit bottoms on and didn't ask anyone once how they were enjoying their food. I think they need to come to you for training!

Best harbour restaurant in my opinion with bonus of actually being dog friendly not like others where you have to sit outside. Only criticism is that it would be nice if they mixed up their entertainment evenings as it’s always the same, a variety of singers would be welcomed by many of the locals.

Table wasn't even set when we arrived. Service wasnt great, had to ask to order our drinks and staff dodnt even show a smile on their face. No cutlery given for our mains as we had starters first. Food was OK, just standard Italian food, risotto wasn't even cooked, just hard rice.

I took 32 international students to celebrate the end of their term and 5 teachers to Simple Italian yesterday and we was blown away with the service! Inside the restaurant is very cute and sat our big group very comfortably. The staff were super friendly and helpful and not to mention the food! We all had a starter, main and a dessert and every single dish that was served was incredible!!! Thank you so much for your hospitality we will be back!!!

Wonderful evening . Very busy with a few large tables which added to the atmosphere. We are regulars here and always enjoy the food and service , but this time it was a delight to be served by our favourite waitress Tina who we knew from else where . She is an added bonus to this restaurant. Always so happy and hard working. The food is simple delicious Italian cuisine . We would recommend this place for anyone to go and try

Great restaurant, food and service. It is a popular place and, when full, can be noisy but this doesn't take away from its appeal.

The best consistent fresh simple Italian food and service always sublime! They always notice when my beer morretti has run dry and come to offer more. Another bonus is they don't come over to say 'is everything ok' when you've just stuffed your face with food haha!

Excellent food, outstanding service and dog friendly (special doggy ice cream available). Highly recommended for all occasions. Ours (and Loki's) favourite Restaurant.

Had the most incredible evening ever, Simply had Dean the Rat Man, food entertainment & staff were perfect! I’m so glad I live here, Simply are the heart of the harbour. Don’t miss this place!

We went for the Rat Pack night and it was fabulous. Food was great, hot and served quickly. Plenty of serving staff and staff joined in with the singing.

Delicious food great service really friendly gentlemen at till when we paid. Great atmosphere. Let down slightly by waitress who didn't seem to happy or smiley when serving us.

Great food great atmosphere great service as always

We were a walk in at 17:30 on a Friday and the gentleman host could not have been more inviting. Food was really good. We shared a large garlic bread with mozzarella and onion, Risotto for main and the most amazing tiramisu for dessert. 1L of house white and a Birra Moretti. Had we not had a disastrous booking in experience at the Harvester (where we left immediately) we would not have found this gem.

On a very hot and busy Saturday evening the staff were still cheerful and efficient, reflecting the managers bubbly and friendly personality, which gave it the same relaxing and happy atmosphere it always has. The food was excellent and served in good time. What more can you ask for!

Not the best place at all. Go to pablos instead. We came in for food but didn’t get menus and were told to seat ourselves. We ended up just staying for drinks (3 coffees) but we didn’t have a menu to look at so had to guess what was on the menu. Coffees weren’t very nice at all. Shame cuz environment seems nice
