Went to Simmons Angel with a few friends for the first time and the atmosphere was buzzing, really set the tone for a great night. Plus in particular there was a great bartender named Ibs who was just amazing, he was so fun, friendly and just overall made us feel so welcome. Defo would go back again.

Had a lovely experience at Simmons last night. I came in for one. But with H’s and Luke’s ease and incredible bartending skills and making me feel so comfortable, I couldn’t help but stay for three more rounds!!! Couldn’t recommend more..))

I have the most amazing time at Simmons, I come in regularly. H is a friendly dependable face ready with open arms and brilliant service. I couldn’t possible recommend Simmons more!!!

The quality of the cocktails here way exceeded every other aspect of the place. Low lighting, sticky floors and uncomfortable stools - it felt like a dive bar, or the closest Islington can conceive of one. Even the cocktails had a happy hour "get bums on seats" promotion - but honestly they didn't need it; certainly the drinks we had stood for themselves: they were well balanced, well presented, creative without being overly showy. Not a snazzy place but I'll come back to try their new cocktail menu, which clearly changes often.

All I can tell you is wa5ch your drinks after a few they tend to charge you a double when u clearly ask for a singlecwhen you query ir thay call for surcurty and told told leave eceb when you show then a card receipt I've been to a few bars ans to be fair along essex rd I would recommend the greenman pub much cheaper and the vipe is so much better higher recommend

The Bar Staff at Simmons are amazing. Ibs and Alexis are the best bartenders/supervisors everrrrr. No cap when you talk bout hospitality they are simply the best.

Forget any other bar on this street, Simmons Angel happy hour is the place to be. The bar staff, and in particular Ibs, absolutely stole the show. Also, the tables were so clean, 5 star hygiene unofficial rating.

Been here a couple of times and it’s quite filthy. Glasses are blatantly unclean - had to request another. Tables also dirty.

Cute bar, friendly service, but my old fashioned was undrinkable. I don't know what they put in it, but it didn't taste like an old fashioned.

The security has a weird misogynist thing going where they won’t let you in if you’re a woman by yourself. It’s especially credulous given that even if your friends are inside, they will force you to stay outside and have to prove it by a text which is hard to get when they are drunk on the dance floor. They did this to me and I thought they were just being annoying but I learned they did this to my friend a day ago , so apparently it’s a pattern.

Intimate local pub to patron. Great vibes and a good crowd. Amazing DJ on weekends. Way better vibe & energy than those gloomy London pub that make you feel like you are drinking in the church.

great atmosphere and drinks, however, to the supervisor/manager working on Sunday the 30th, wearing a white hoodie/tee and a black snapback, your attitude towards your staff was utterly disgraceful. i ordered two drinks at the bar, and an employee who was quite clearly in training, made them, however he made them wrong. instead of guiding him gently, this manager proceeded to walk over to me, a customer, and say ‘i’m remaking your drinks, he’s sh*t’ - i was taken aback. You then proceeded to turn to another employee and say ‘he’s cr*p, you need to swap with him’. - You then made this employee in training watch you remake the drinks, and you were explaining how to do it in a very hostile way, to which the employee looked visibly uncomfortable, as was i. how you can quickly insult your staff members when they make a simple mistake is disgusting, let alone when you do it in front of a customer. i will not be returning.

Awful patrons, hostile security and overpriced drinks. Harassment from both patrons and security throughout the night made this an uncomfortable experience.

I resent having to write yet another bad review of your bars. There were a group of 5 of us visiting on Saturday. It's disappointing that your staff would actively ignore us, and serve their own friends. We couldn't have been more obviously waiting if not for a large neon sign above our heads. It's just rude. Despite this I would like to thank, and appreciate, the bartender who did serve us. They seemed to be the only one working, poor guy. Rushed off their feet...

Nice place, cool interior with alot of drinks that are on the cheap side. They have a retro game console which is very cool. The management is very nice and attentive, however some of the people at that Simmons place who go there are a bit wild

Absolutely disgusted by the treatment I received on friday 17th of March at Simmons, I was thrown off my table that was reserved for someone who had decided to turn up half an hour earlier than the time stated. The man said to me “you need to move, the people who want this table now have arrived Early” I said “but it’s not fair as the time clearly stated 7pm and I wanted that seat until right up until the time. I said fine I want a refund on my drink I hadn’t begun to drink, he said no and laughed and walked off - the picture of the man standing up is the one who humiliated me I left the place completed deflated with my birthday ruined, the service was disgusting and the glasses were filthy and I won’t be returning and I advise everyone else to go to be at one which is further down the road with a nicer atmosphere and better less “aggressive” service.
