Staff are not welcoming in this store. She explained to other customers about the price increase when it got to serving me she didn’t mention it at all. So unwelcoming makes me feel like I don’t want to come back. This is not the first time either.

Ordered a bacon sandwich and a sausage sandwich. Both arrived in a timely manner, but on my first bite, nearly broke my tooth on the bacon, and the sausage was as dry as a bone. Both totally inedible, so very disappointing and complete waste of money. This is the second time this has happened, but it will be the last…… Shame on you Simmons

They’re friendly, welcoming, and truly make every visit enjoyable. It’s rare to find a place where the staff makes you feel like family, but they do exactly that. For those of us who start our days early, braving the cold, the fog, and the occasional moody passerby, mornings can feel like a grind. As council workers, we’re out there before most of the town has even stirred, dealing with the daily hustle that keeps everything running smoothly. But there’s one part of our routine that makes it all a little easier—stepping into the bakery coffee shop and being greeted by Alex. Everyone at the bakery is lovely, always friendly and welcoming, but there’s just something special about Alex. She isn’t just someone who serves coffee; she’s the heart of the place. She treats every customer as if they’re an old friend, making you feel like you’re walking into her own home rather than just another business. No matter how gloomy the morning, she’s there with a warm smile, a friendly chat, and a coffee that somehow tastes better just because she made it. It’s easy to overlook how important someone like Alex is to a business. But the truth is, she’s the kind of person who turns first-time visitors into regulars and regulars into family. In a world where good service is becoming rare, she reminds us of what it means to feel truly welcome.

This has got to be a joke. I went in to get 2 baps but got only 1 because I asked for it to be toasted and was told that it will be extra cost. I was gob smacked. I paid for the one bap and left really quickly because of the anger. I asked a question about ‘why that was’. The lady didn’t seem too bothered about the shock I was in. This HAS GOT TO STOP. What the hell, it still hasn’t sinked in.

Simmons breakfast that comes up with a free hot drink was good. However, they ran out of bacon (had only 1 piece rather than 2 as per the description) and got us an extra sausage instead, and only told us when they delivered the food. Instead, I think it should’ve been better if they made us aware in advance i.e come to us and inform us about it and also ask if we want it replace with something else. This breakfast already comes with 2 sausages so having 3 is too much. We ended up not eating it, hence why asking for an alternative would be better, as it won’t go to waste.. anyway! I think it’s good value for money (£11.50) and quality is not bad either. On a separate note, I asked for the bathroom code but the lady just entered it for me (it helped but it was a bit secretive and I saw she’s done to same to other customers so it might be the rule if the restaurant it just doesn’t make a lot of sense). I was shocked to see how dirty the toilet was..honestly disgusting. There’s quite a lot of ppl on shift, one of them could easily be checking the WC every hour to make sure it’s in a good condition. The floor was also quite dirty with a lot of bread crumbs over it. Generally, 1) communication from the staff towards customers could be improved and 2) cleaning could be improved too.

Ordered Sunday breakfast on deliveroo which was very poor quality the however the bread and donuts were good the jacket potato was absolutely rubbish

Staff not listening. Asked twice for my baguette to be on a seeded baguette. Put in paper bag so quickly and behind the till so you can’t see. Got home to find it was in a white baguette and had butter in which I didn’t ask for Maybe need to stop worrying so much about Just Eat etc and concentrate on getting customer orders right

I’m a frequent customer at Simmons went to this one for the first time this evening and the cashier was clutching onto the stuff I picked out for dear life. I had to ask for the bag. Never experienced this hostile attitude at other stores, definitely won’t be going back.

Obviously Simmons are known for being a quality bakery but not all Simmons are the same some have the every day items and some are fully loaded with all kinds of yummy goodies find those shops and your in for a treat.

Came her first place and was exceedingly good would definitely recommend and the service her by the young lady called Sofia extremely polite and very courteous and well mannered but can’t say enough.good job

The lady who served was very rude, she didn’t even speak with us while we order some food. We said thank you but she looked at us like we swear to her. And also it’s quite expensive £5.20 for a croissant

Always love Simmons baked goods. The fruit loaf is especially lovely if you can get one as not always on sale. Maybe wuth easter coming we will see more of them on the shelves. Sour dough range also great but sells out really quickly. More on the shelves, please, Simmons. Steak Bake is a favourite of mine, always super hot, so be careful. Past lunchtime, you can have a nice quiet, cup of tea as the shoppers wonder past the window. Recommended.

Great coffee and mushroom rolls to start the day

2024 EDIT. Just been to Waltham Cross branch. Was served by Sofia, who has, categorically the best attitude and customer service I've experienced in ANY shop since... Well, since I can remember. She treated the person before us exactly thrbsame way. She should be commended, paid more and rewarded. We ended up spending night in £40 on simmons baked goods, so yeah, it's an attitude worth modelling. Well done Sofia. ..... Sourdough bread and vegan mushroom rolls are amazing.

Got to love this place! The food is lovely and comes with a big smile. We often eat there, buy our bread and cake. Alex and her team make sure everyone is well looked after and leaves content +++++

no respect for delivery drivers, companies gave to them 10-15 min preperation time and when drivers arrived to shop, drivers must collect orders, we dont earn per hour wages like them, unprofessional managers, i dont let my team collect any orders from this job,, Dear Costumers - please dont order delivery here, just go collect dont waste money and time

Love this branch of Simmons,after recent management change the place is so enjoyable, Staff is really great professional and respecting. New manager Alex her professionalism great customer service really shines trough. Week days and weekend staff are all great bunch of guys that make this bakery a very nice place to visit. Fresh quality bakery nice staff

We needed a fuel top up after some football in the park. Cappuccino and a freshly made bacon sandwich for me. Apple smoothie and a bacon sandwich for the boy. Simmons is lovely.

We ordered 44 hot sausage and bacon sandwiches and collected them today. The manager was absolutely lovely to deal with and accommodated several changes to this large order with no bother at all; she even offered to carry the food out to the car. The food was delicious and a great way to celebrate the end of term with our staff. Thank you so much for the friendly and efficient service and the tasty lunch.

This is for anyone who believes in the treatment of people of all backgrounds with dignity. On Thursday 17th of March 2022 my sister and I were discriminated against by the manager Lauren, at this Cheshunt Old Pond branch. This was after one of her staff gave myself a pork sausage roll instead of a mushroom roll. When at the beginning, when we entered the shop we had specified our dietary requirements and were very clear about this as It’s against our religious and cultural background. They gave us a pork sausage roll, it wasn’t until I bit into the pastry as we were driving off, that I realised that it wasn’t mushroom. I felt sick to the stomach, I was distressed and my sister suggested I should go back to tell the staff what had happened. When I went back to the shop the young girl that had originally served us was the only one who seemed to be concerned. The other staff member was incredibly dismissive and rude. I didn’t want to get the young girl in trouble with her the manager, so I took the replacement (mushroom roll) and came back to the car. When I returned to the car, my sister asked what happened, I explained to her that the staff didn’t seem to care. So she convinced me that we should go back and see how they can resolve this. Once we got into the shop we explained in a calm manner the situation to one of the staff. Then all of a sudden the manager, Lauren came from the back end of the shop telling us to that we’re being aggressive, pointing fingers and we need to stop talking loud in front of customers. As if we were not paying customers ourselves. The manager Lauren escalated the situation. Saying again that we are pointing fingers and being aggressive and she’s not going to do anything unless my sister keeps quiet. I tried to address the fact that the manager Lauren was being micro aggressive, also how racist her behaviour was. Lauren then decided she was going to call the police on my sister and I for calling her a racist, which she did. She tried to kick us out of the shop like we hadn’t paid for our food. But my sister waited in the shop, whilst she was waiting for the police all the staff were dismissive and attempting to intimidate her. I was so distressed I decided to go to the car and wait there. Addressing Black women as aggressive is typical of a racist trope/vicious stereotype of painting Black women as the angry Black Woman. Lauren didn’t care to solve this situation all she wanted to do was to escalated it and silence us. She didn’t care to understand the severity of what happened. Lauren’s discriminating behaviour was traumatic for my sister and I, all we wanted was to be treated with dignity like any other customer but instead we had the police called on us like we had committed a criminal offence. I wouldn’t advice anyone to engage with establishment for their discriminatory practices.

Always love going back to Simmons, staff are always super friendly and the food is always good.

You can't beat a Simmons bakery.. Unlike Gregg's, you can order what you want with filling in your sandwichs and roll of your choice.... Staff are very nice.

I rung up and had scones put by,when I went in I had sandwiches made up and bought cake. Excellent customer service friendly efficient and of course everything tasted fabulous when I tried it later,I wish I has noted the ladies name,she was lovely...she went àbove and beyond, when it came to buying the cream and jam for the scones the supervisor got involved,no people skills and took her position very very seriously and made sure everyone knew she was in charge,such a shame that she felt the need to do so. Obviously doesn't recognise what a great team she has!!

My bacon was not fresh. It was cold and rock hard. I'm sure it was yesterday's bacon. I couldn't even bite into the sandwich. Thrown in the bin. Not impressed at all.

The cakes and bread that I bought were absolutely incredible. The staff were so friendly and helpful as I couldn't decide which cakes to choose from the huge selection . I noticed that even though they were extremely busy they were polite and courteous to everyone. I will be going back on a regular basis as I need to work my way through all the cakes.

Usually a decent place which i visit often but the customer service today was awful, i’m sorry but when i buy a cake i don’t expect it to be thrown an touched with bare hands.
