Silver Street Cafe in Leicester

Massive portion. Hood value for money

Ordered through justeat. No order came and it carried on saying order being prepared. No one even. Bothered to inform me. Won't be using again sadly.

I ordered food from uber eats, took over an hour to even leave the shop after the app was telling me for 30 minutes that they had no drivers and they were looking for someone, time the food came an hour and a half later it was cold and soggy and beans had gone everywhere as lid not secured for a first time order here i will not be going again.

Food was hot when it arrived the only bad thing was that the scrambled eggs tasted like they used too much salt

food was vile bacon wasn't cooked and sausages was definitely from the day before and the beans was cold,,ordered from here 3 times and personally been in and is not what you expect for a English breakfast

Staff are very friendly and pleasant place to be in when ur having something amazing to eat by the chef everything is perfect

Omg I’ve been meaning to do this review , this place is amazing their food is so delicious I asked for a Yorkshire pudding for free and they gave it to me so nice. Mash potatoes are so delicious the cabbage and broccoli was so tender I hate when they are over cooked and mushy so much gravy they gave me and the portion for delivery was massive that was my meal for the day I reccomend all my friends to go so delicious definitely ordering again 🙏🤩🤩

I went to this place today for a takeaway coffee and it smelt like vomit walking into the cafe

After walking around Leicester all morning, we discovered this cafe. Quite hungry, so decided to chance it. Basic cafe food, staff were nice and looked busy. Clean place, decent food, BUT for a cafe, quite pricey for standard food. Lots of competition in the area, but deserves to be mentioned as it was clean and friendly.

Silver Street Café is the only proper greasy spoon in Leicester City Centre, I got what I wanted, which was a proper English fry up and although it wasn't great by any means it hit the spot and did the trick. Getting a phone signal in here is tricky, and there's no sign or mention of WiFi.

Food tastes not good enough, the coffe ( latte) was only milk with some coffe inside but very weak Tray for coffe was dirty

A great reasonably priced menu. Selected the roast dinner. Chicken small size and partner Had the Turkey. Perfectly nice with selection of veg and jug of gravy all for £7.45.

Expensive, for cup of tea, a small cup no pot. Wasn't very hot. I've only been twice as first time it smelled too foody and seemed dirty. This time was cleaner but still smells, very hot as well. My friends milk shake was not very big , the price iis expensive in my view for the amount and decor etc. Not my choice of venue.

I had a small piece of plastic in food, in one of the dishes, the food from here is usually spot on , I contacted just eat and sent a photo, still waiting for refund for the one dish that I had to throw away.

Traditional English cuisine served in unpretentious premises in the centre of Leicester. Generous portions of homemade dishes at modest prices, representing excellent value for money. Such places are rare. Well worth visiting.

Been here a few times, & never been disappointed, the food is good VFM & the staff are friendly and helpful. We will certainly return when in Leicester again.

Warm and cozy cafe, offering a great selection of tasty food. Everything from breakfast (that sets you up for the day), lunch, dinner and desserts. Friendly staff.

Absolutely unbeatable. The home-cooked meals were enormous, hot and couldn't have been bettered. The staff were friendly and helpful and value for money extremely good. I've rarely had a better meal in an expensive restaurant. We'll be back!

Delivery took forever, but the food was good!

Silver street Café, is the venue for our full fat Friday breakfast. Staff are nice and jolly. However food is sometime on unheated plates. This can lead to disappointment and not always good value for money!

Very rude delivery driver, went to the wrong address and refused to deliver to the correct address. So dinner paid for and never received. Disgusting service

Not been here for a long while, but decided to give the cafe another try & we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good VFM & we will certainly return when in Leicester again.

Coffee is not good at all here. English breakfast tastes good but the atmosphere is not nice. If you are hungry and don't care about the atmosphere it's the place for you.

Corned beef hash chips and peas Shepherds pie roast potatoes mixed veg. Both excellent, OH had room for syrup sponge and custard

Lovely food always freshly cooked

Went in today. Food was good but while eating the what appeared to be the owner came out and said we was rude. All that was said was when a server came over with the food is we would like to sit outside as a table became free. We said thank you to the server and the owner which I think was the owner came out and said we was rude. Seems funny how we was the only people of colour there today.

Food was cold, all leaking out of the containers. Items missing. Delivery was over 90 minutes.

Really solid Sunday morning fry up. Spent about £12 but I added tea and a Coke onto my massive breakfast.

Me and my husband had and omelette here and in few hours we were running to the toilet with bad stomach ache. Unfortunately what we got there still in our guts and we are very unhappy. It is now almost 3 weeks we still suffering from bad cramps,diarrhoea, etc never go there again.

Second best cafe in Leicester! The best out of those that are open on a Sunday! Delicious food! Would highly recommend!

-1 star for being like the only café in the area that is not dog friendly -1 star for the food and coffee that were mediocre at best Service was fast and I guess they have the basics youd want from a cafe, but from someone that's tried a lot of places around the city you're literally better served anywhere else. On the fact that it's at the bottom of my list of places to go in town I was tempted to take out another star but that would be biased.

Not a breakfast person at all but wasn’t feeling very well this morning, so ordered myself a nice breakfast. Everything I had wrote for the restaurant had been spot on. I didn’t want any mushrooms but was given an extra hash brown. I am out of town and most defo will be coming back for the breakfast :) thank you

This is Leicesters best cafes,if i lived here i would be a regular customer,i went for break fast,and it was superb,the medium breakfast was enough and i asked for the bacon crispy,and at last a cafe that listens,the bacon was perfect,the sausages were delicious and the tomatoes yummy,i left the cafe feeling like i had good value for money,and an excellent dining experience,i also went in for my lunch,and wow,i had the shepherds pie with veg etc,this was amazing it was like a mince dinner,the portion size was just perfect,im surprised other diners didnt hear me making some strange yummy sounds,during my stay in leicester i went to the silver street cafe 3 times,people of leicester you are lucky to have this awesome eating place in your centre,i would recommend anyone visisting leicester to try this lovely cafe,the staff are great ,and the place is spotlesst, thank you will certainly be back next time im in Leicester.
