Silver River Take Away in Fenland

Absolutely disgusting food.!! Spent £70 here on NYE. Order was messed up. Came with a starter instead of the 2 set meals that were ordered. Rang and told them. No apologies. Just we will make it and send it out when we can. So all the chips and sides were cold by the time they came back. Also told us that they wanted the starter back. Which is fine. But bearing in mind we had opened it in order to see what it was .. in these awful times I hate to think that they are getting food back and then re heating it and sending it to someone else.!! Then when the set meals came every piece of vegetable in them were raw.!! Even the peas were still half frozen. As you can see by the pictures the whole lot went into the bin.. even the chips were not cooked. Not only is this a sanitary issue which I shall be reporting to environmental health. But it’s also an absolute disgrace that you can charge this much money to people knowing that it was inedible. Then conveniently ignore the phone. The inch of oil in the bottom of the satay was disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself. People, avoid this place like the plague else you may well end up with something worse.!!

this place is the worst and i mean worst excuse for a takeaway, we spent £67 and the lot went in the bin,they messed up the order to start and made us return the food they messed up,with covid i thought that shouldn't be right,nothing was cooked,how can you have a hot chip that is pure raw its was vile,would rather starve than eat this rubbish

We ordered a set meal and asked to swap 2 rice for 1 rice 1 noodles. When hubby got back we had 2 noodles. They forgot the chicken skewers which is the only thing my daughter eats. We called them back to be told they did put the chicken in, which we assured them they didnt. And asked if we could go back. As we don't live near by We said we couldn't, they said they only had 1 driver on a Saturday night!! and were unable to come out to us!! It ruined our family evening as my daughter was So upset. They did offer free chicken skewers next time and 10% off next time but ONLY if we ordered the same set meal again!! Don't think we will be going back any time soon!! ALWAYS check your order before you leave!!!

Been loads of times. Best in area. Always A1. Waiting time minimal and friendly staff. Delivery service great and food arrives on time and in perfect condition always.

We ordered from here on Saturday evening as it's our local (and our favourite) Chinese takeaway. We decided to collect it as it was only 15 min wait rather than an hour wait for delivery (which is to be expected on a Saturday evening). The food arrived piping hot with fantastic flavours. Great portion sizes. Would recommend the satay chicken chow mein, the king prawn balls and also the mixed hors d'oeuvres.

This is a chinese takeaway which appears to be "old fashioned". Food was eatable but there are much better takeaways available in the area.

On the whole the food is very good, occasionally it can be a bit salty, whether a change in chef but sometimes the chicken balls can be a bit doughy. Crispy chilli beef is by far the best dish. Friendly staff on the phones who are also dealing with orders from walk ins too. One down side is the chefs keeping front of house staff up to date of waiting times for deliveries as those taking orders seem to give a standard 30 minutes for delivery time when the delivery arrives it can be anywhere between 15 minutes to 1hour after ordering.

We eat from here whenever we have a Chinese. It is good food and as far as Chinese goes decent priced.

As above. Never had a bad meal, good little deals, usually speedy delivery. We have been many times since moving to Whittlesey a couple of years ago. Some takeaways have a very salty taste, this is still salty but bit as much ( being someone who doesn't have salt on meals ). Can't complain. Will always go there

We always get our Chinese food delivered from Silver River. It is really tasty, always nice and hot and doesn't take forever to arrive.

Takeaway and delivery only and 50/50 in terms of quality. Some times really lovely offers really bad. Found take out better than delivery.

I had my first takeaway from Silver River evening of the day I moved to the area & although I have tried others they do not measure up. Silver River also does Thai dishes such as Tom Yum soup, a favourite of mine and Thai Green & Red curries.

My Wife Susan is one of a group that call themselves 'The Friday Girls', last Friday as it was her birthday they decided to eat at our house. I picked up a menu and they picked what they wanted, Susan placed the Order and it was delivered. Masses of food, all superb, and a complimentary bottle of Wine, and there was enough left over for me when I arrived home. Well done Silver River 'The Friday Girls' loved it. Gerald H.

Excellent menu, I should add this is our favourite takeaway & we order at least once a week. I enjoy the fact that there is a Thai section to the menu & the Tom Yum soup is to die for. Delivery service is great and they just know my voice now when I ring up to order.

My daughter came over with her children and my son with his wife and we all were comfy on the sofa so thought we'd try out silver river for a takeaway..I am not personally a chinese fan, but their thai green curry and chicken balls were lovely and all my family enjoy chinese and loved all their dishes, the only complaint was for a little more meat in some dishes.. but we can't complain!

We always get our Chinese Takeaway from the Silver River. They deliver to us and if we ask they alter the Thai curry so that they're vegeterian instead. Good customer service.

Having recently moved to the area we have tried this take away a couple of times and never been disappointed. Food is always hot. The place gets very busy so must be polular with all the towns folk.Parking a bit squashed and they only take cash but these are the only faults I can find.
