Had a takeway,ready quickly; but the food has changed from my previous visits and not for the better. The chicken, chilli, spicy salt now small battered balls rather than chicken strips, and very little veg. Worst of all, the smoked shredded chicken has reverted to being served in plastic rather than the original cardboard and now about half the quantlty but the same price! Will be going elsewhere in the future there is plenty of choice around but I don't appreciated being ripped off!!

My noodle dish was good, but my wife was not happy; the spring role was a funny red colour inside and the 'pastry' was very thin; the Chop Suey, which she was trying for the first time (and last) was just beansprouts, no other veg, noodles etc. Disappointing, and the prices have gone up again!

I’m not one for normally leaving bad reviews like this but unfortunately our food was dreadful. We was in March for a late meeting and decided we would have a Chinese for dinner however both Chinese takeaways in Chatteris where we live are closed on a Thursday so we ordered from here. Soon as food was ready I drove straight home (10 minutes) and dished it up. Soon as my husband took his first bite he said it wasn’t nice, I was staving but couldn’t even eat 1/4 of what was on my plate. Neither of us ate it and ended up putting the whole £28 order in the bin. I’m sorry to say but it was honestly the worst food I’ve ever eaten and I was in the Scouts for years! Chips were rock hard, chicken balls cold and stodgy, chow mein was dry and like it had been re cooked a few times. Only good thing about the meal was the free prawn crackers. There was no point calling to complain as we’d had a long day and wasn’t prepared to drive there and back again for new food. We won’t ever visit here again

Excellent food, always quick to prepare, friendly counter/phone staff

This is special. I’ll be honest my choices are narrow. Hot and sour soup is the perfect heat and consistency (in other places some are gloopy) and no skimping on ingredients Large Pancake Roll (bizarrely under Extras, not Starters) is immaculate. Not greasy as some are. Packed full of meat. Veg, bean sprouts. I could easily eat three for my whole meal. But if I did I wouldn’t have room for the outstanding Singapore Noodles. So much stuff in here and no grease! (In my nearest Chinese you could ladle out the oil. Puke! This is why I value Chef Peking so highly. ) There are three Chinese takeaways nearer to my home than Chef Peking. One is a 1 minute walk away. But when you’ve eaten this well , you’ll walk a bit further for some more. Thank you Chef Peking

A tasty dinner was had, and the Beef in oyster sauce was delicious, as was the Chicken in yellow bean sauce. It's very nice and not too pricey

Best takeaway I’ve been to this year

Ordered my food to pick up and within 15 minutes it was ready. Took it home and had a big meal with the family, everything was delicious. Thanks guys.

We ordered a take away for myself and husband. To find food was not fresh was warm not hot seemed was lunchtime or night before food disgusting paying full price for food like this chips were very soggy batter around chicken was soft rest off food was warm wouldn't recommend. Won't be going back for sure.

Have bought here for three years, food always good and service generally quick. Just last night we were shocked to be told that the 'free' prawn crackers now required a £20.00 spend which is high for just the 2 of us. Really disappointed since the prices have also gone up recently! Might now consider going elsewhere, pity!

I only give 1 star because you cant give 0 stars. Who eats from this place clearly never have good food in life. The food was bland completely. We asked for 4 diferent dishes and all were bland taste, smelt burnt and dry. Really disappointed. If your looking for good food there is definitely better places in march than this one.

Where’s the flavour? How can a curry have no taste? Save your money or go to J&B Fish Bar for your Chinese food! The little scrote who served on the counter was incredibly rude When we got the food home & tasted in we phoned to complain & because we had eaten a bit of the food we were not entitled to our money back......how does that work? I’m baffled as to how we can taste the food & complain without actually tasting it?! Anyway we complained & the owner said we must have damaged taste buds & that we were the issue & not their crap food.

They need to apologise to the customer's for long wait for the food 45 minutes later and a lot of angry people the food was disgusting how can you possibly go wrong with a plain chow mein it was inedible like trying to eat a bale of straw the pancake roll was dripping in grease and the curry had no taste , when people started to kick off they started to serve everyone will not be going back think you lost alot of customers tonight you had plenty of staff so no excuse poor service

Always great food with everything we've ordered.

We eat from here about once a month and we're always happy with our order. Orders are accurate, order taker verifies everything and tells you the price as they are cash only. I always collect and rarely have to wait longer than they specify. Recommend the smoked chicken and the shredded chilli beef 😋

Ordered a large amount of food as normal on a Saturday night totalling £65 and as usual I ask for a extra extra hot house special curry. Came delivered not what I requested so a simple phone call to say I didnt get what I ordered. The Chinese women was absolutely disgusting with a bad attitude telling me I was wrong. I'm sorry but your customer service was appalling and when I said about trading standards she said she dont care about them. Please sort yourself out as your the manager

We love this place, the food is excellent and they deliver. The portions are excellent. We are so pleased that we found Chef Peking.

We had special fried rice which was a small portion you usually get just egg fried rice in and it was dry, we had chicken chow mein which was dry as well and we had sweet and sour chicken balls which we thought was quite nice, wasn't burnt like some and the sauce was very nice and sweet.. The prawn crackers were free but not very good at all.. This was Tues 29th Oct 2019..

A meal for two at Chef Peking will consist of the usual but be prepared for tons and tons of carrots! It's a trick....fill the portions with carrots, onions or peppers and leave out the Chinese vegetables as they cost more money. The sauces were either bombed in salt/MSG or sugar and almost inedible. They glowed - not really keen on putting that in my body. Also, keep a gallon of water in the fridge for about an hour later the meal, you are going to need that. Spare ribs were good, prawn crackers are difficult to screw up. Twenty One Pounds I've wasted on this appalling food and the first and last time we shall collect food from this place. Oh, just to add, the street bum who delivers the food for Chef Peking is also a drug user. He had a joint by the front door, went in to collect his deliveries and then got in his car. He was ranting on about something insane as he waited for his deliveries... I called the police to inform them of drug-driving. Still, makes the Chef Peking all in all a unique experience and one I won't repeat. Go elsewhere.

Had a takeaway just the other day from here. How bad was it? Less than good. Schwan Beef was very tough. Sweet and Sour chicken balls were like dumplings and very bad. Chicken noodles were bland and just bad tasting. I will never buy anything from this place again.

We nearly always go here for takeaway. We have lived in March for 20 years this year. Food is always very nice. We prefer to collect our order as it is so much quicker, also we can check the order before we get home. This is why only 4 stars as on occasion there has been missing items. Has always had a high food hygiene rating as far as I know.

Clean, a warm welcome and a cold beer while we looked over the menu. The food was amazing and the service perfect. We will definitely be back for more as there's more on the menu to choose from.

Awful. The kung po prawns were tinned mushrooms. Didnt taste of kung po was just a soy sauce flavour salty. The sweet and sour sauce were sweet and bitter almost like it were made with orange peel. The chow mein noodles were too bittery. I took a gamble and i should have listened to the other reviews.

I have had some very nice food from Chef Peking but, sometimes, it really is not good. In addition to this, they have a one star food rating which is disappointing.

Shared a night with our neighbours to have chef Peking, had been regular customers, can't believe the customer service when there was something missing from the delivery. Have also noticed they now have poor hygiene rating will go elsewhere in future

AVOID AVOID AVOID! Rude management. Missing items and 1STAR food hygiene rating!! So despite experience listed below decided to give them another try. Ordered over £70 worth of food. Delivery arrived minus the only main I ordered. When I rang to ask for it to be sent out got told '1000% we put it in there, you must have missed it.' It was in there you must have eaten it' Effectively called me a liar. Eventually the rude lady manager agreed to redeliver despite telling me she had no drivers available!' Will never use this Chinese again! --- Been a regular customer of Chef Peking for many years and spent a shed loads of money with them. Despite the staff often being rude and sometimes the food is dry and burnt but when it's good it's amazing. A couple of deliveries recently have been short on what we ordered and living a way out is little point phoning to complain as rest of food would be cold by the time the order arrived. Tonight they refused to deliver because we live too far out for when they are busy. Tonight was the final straw. Will never order from there again!

As a loyal customer I’m disappointed that I find myself giving a poor review. this company has let us down recently on two occasions. I’ve only had cause to complain twice both in recent months. The latest when they missed my main course off our order. Disappointed I rang and politely requested it was delivered ASAP. The manager was extremely rude and effectively accused me of lying saying it had been packed. I wouldn’t have minded if she had just apologised but she insisted on arguing that it had been delivered and initially refused to deliver. Because of her rudeness I was insistent that it was delivered. Eventually she reluctantly agreed and arrived 1hr later. This place used to be the best hands down in March with a 5Star food hygiene rating. However they now only have a 1 Star rating which probably reflects the managers general attitude. Probably best to avoid.

Friendly staff, good food and reasonable prices

This Chinese has been serving up their takeway delights for some years now. The food is generally good but sometimes they hit a supreme evening and cook something great.

I spent ages looking for a Chinese takeaway in March, Cambs that had a decent star rating with the local authority. Most appear to be 2 or 3 star and therefore not worth the risk in my opinion. Several were well rated on trip advisor but then I drove past this place. Not on trip advisor (I got it add) but 5 star scores on the doors rating. So on to the food - fabulous! I had aromatic crispy LAMB with pancakes and salad (like the duck meal) and it was amazing. I ordered chicken with black bean as a main but was served beef but this was not a problem really and it was really tasty. The food was served hotter than most takeaways so was still nice and hot when I got it back to the place I was stopping. Good food and really reasonable prices. I will definitely eat from here again when back in town.

Hit and miss. I like the food... When they get it right. Last occasion finished it for me though. Drove in to get order as we are too far to deliver to and was given the wrong order (order for 'john') clearly I'm not a john... 'That's not mine' met with reply of 'we only have one order, it's yours' get all the way home what do you know... Not ours. Went all the way back received 'sorry' No offer of discount or free drink for our troubles. Get home order was still wrong! Ruined an evening with friends. Won't be bothering again.
