Went with family today. Lewis Richardson homecoming. Great atmosphere, good company, good food and a really nice tome had.

Amazing crowd for the Euro final, friendly staff very helpful. Large venue plenty of seating. Will be back soon

having come from the area last time i went in was maybe 20 years ago, i have to say though the place is what a pub should be or estate pub loud singing shouting piss taking and believe it or not very friendly enjoyed th efew hours i was there and will be back

A very nice pub with a good atmosphere and a welcoming landlady. Don't miss the karaoke nights and entertainment. Plenty of space for families as they have a huge rear garden with bouncy castles... this pub is going forward at a time when the pub trade is dying.

Recently reopened and all looking very smartly renovated. Some good drinks choices with more on the way I understand. Large screen tv for the sports with smaller tv’s doted around the bar . Well worth a look if you haven’t been able to for a while.

Outstanding service and an all round lovely pub to go to. The guests are always extremely friendly and it is a great laugh. Peter and the team have absolutely nailed it in terms of turning it over and it is a wonderful pub to visit. Highly recommend that you visit..

First time in this pub tonight couldn’t ask for a better first impression the landlord was very friendly and so were the locals I will definitely be coming back.

The silver oyster is absolutely terrible I have been there manny times over the years and there food is never cooked properly and always dry bland and tasteless, and as off December 2020 I paid for a pint off Carlsberg and it costed £4:25 absolutely expensive! And as off December 2020 they are in fact in breach off Covid-19 rules everyone walking around no masks on completey terrible and to add to my experience with the oyster they are very open to promoting Dugs! The amount off times I have been to the oyster there are always people smoking cannabis in the pub garden witch doesn’t get used apart from drug taking. I give the silver oyster a 0.2 out off 5 absolutely terrible.

This was the worst place I have ever been to, and if I could put a 0 I would. The service was terrible, the landlord was really rude to us and the social distancing was dreadful. A lot needs to be improved in this pub or even better shut down. Honestly the worst place I’ve ever been to in my lifetime. The service needs to be improved as well as the landlord’s mouth being washed out with soap, as his language is atrocious. I should have gone to a better pub, I had the worst time ever to exist in this earth. And I hope you read this and feel bad because that’s how you made us feel!

This must be the worst service I have ever had. Bar man rude claimed to be the owner? Drinks over priced for the area £5 for a pint of warm Strongbow. Will not be coming back here.

Very nice pub, excellent beer and food

No frills pub in the heart of a council estate. Quite a good selection of beers and ales on tap as well as a large choice of spirits. There is a large garden out the back for when the sun is out. They have a pool table if you fancy a game. The landlord made us laugh though when we were talking about the recent carnage that happened in town after the football and all the fights that kicked off afterwards. Apparently if it kicks off in his pub he'll "lock em in and get my baseball bat and kill em". At first I thought he was joking but then got the impression he was trying to let everyone in the pub know he was somesort of badass that was not to be messed with. I still smirk everytime I think of it. He was a nice enough guy just seemed like he wanted everyone to know he felt like a tough guy. Pop in for a quick one, or two.

Honest, basic, community pub. No frills and very reasonable prices.

Good food at good prices have been back again since. Beer is good nice golden ale at good price again well recommended.

Great atmosphere lovely landlord

We thought we would give this pub a try, but wish we hadn’t! Landlady was obnoxiously rude beyond belief, commenting about punters with very little discretion. My friend has learning difficulties and the landlady seemed to take great pleasure in singling her out and mocking her. We made a point to complain to the manager before we left; who defended the landlady and her actions. It was like stepping into another world - I am not middle class but I give credit to my parents and my local pub for providing me a happy and more nurturing environment than this place. Icing on the cake at the end of the day was the drinks bill which was extortionate considering we had mostly ordered soft drinks (which were flat). If you have any common sense or want a pleasurable experience avoid this establishment! I cannot believe the audacity of the landlady to mock someone with visible learning disabilities. Absolutely sickening and we will do everything in our power to let the local community know about this horrendous pub and their staff!

So it’s a pub pool game , everything was going well till one of the staff’s behavior and I believe it was a land lady was unacceptable. She brings out the food and tells us to take our sh.t , not a way to speak to a customer . If that’s how she’s gonna treat customers then I’m definitely not coming back here . Our team played in different pubs multiple times and we never been treated so bad that way ever. Not happy ... I do not recommend coming here !

In Colchester on family visit and decided to have a breakfast out whilst family at work .Small cafe where we used to go was closed down so decided to try this pub . The breakfast was cooked to perfection and with fresh orange and coffee a real bargain. Lady on shift was very friendly and made you feel very welcome. Will be back for sure

Patatas fritas incluida en la mayoría.Sorpresa extra de aros de cebolla.Mención de asado del domingo en la parte inferior del menú, nos perdimos, pero bien podría haber ido si lo que creíamos - chicos - poner una junta en el exterior con asado en la junta puso un bar con asado!Relación calidad-precio es, sin duda, hay y parece muy popular con familias jóvenes. Mucho mejor ambiente de comida rápida para ellos.Con la apertura de la comunidad pub agradable horas que esperamos tenga éxito.Quizás con el extendido/menú/postres sandwiches alterado...?

Went to the Silver Oyster for the first time for LGBT night and it was wicked! Brilliant entertainment (karaoke), staff were brilliant and there was a lovely , friendly atmosphere. I will definitely be going here again!

Fast turning into a great pub since being taken over. Friendly welcoming staff. Serves bar snacks and entertainment throughout the week.
