Hoy descubrí que mi café favorito en Londres, el café de mi barrio y un lugar donde he comido durante 25 años, se ha visto obligado a cerrar.Solo quiero decirles a Sandra, Fausto, Stephano, Allesandro y Christina, que los echaré de menos, y desearles suerte en el futuro.

Les plats sont bon mais attention aux frais cachés ! Un restaurant classé « € » mais qui agis comme un restaurant « €€€€ » en demandant le type de pain que je veux avec mon plat pour me le faire payer après .... déjà que c’est cher Londres. Ça m’a bien surpris.

He estado en este café italiano familiar en el corazón de Londres varias veces en los últimos años y siempre lo encontré excelente: un precio razonable, un servicio excelente y amable, deliciosos ingredientes frescos y comida sana y deliciosa. Todas las cosas de estilo café que cabe esperar, pero también más interesantes pastas, carnes y platos vegetarianos. Tuve un pollo kebab especial, que fue sinceramente el mejor que he probado. La opción para llevar preparada también se veía muy bien.Hay literalmente miles de opciones de almuerzo en esta área, pero siempre me dirigiré a la de Silva.

We called in here having arrived in London off the train at St Pancras. The staff were very friendly, the food was excellent and great value for money.

The food was very very delicious. We enjoyed a lot our meal - burgers and fish and chips. The meal is very big and price really reasonable. We strongly recommend this place!

No he comido aquí, así que no puedo comentar sobre la comida. El restaurante estaba cerrado por vacaciones. Simplemente estaba parado afuera con un amigo cuando me sorprendió ver ratones corriendo de arriba abajo por el estante de exhibición de alimentos (que estaba vacío de comida). Creo que los visitantes potenciales pueden querer reconsiderar comer aquí. Tampoco vi una clasificación de estándares de seguridad alimentaria en la ventana y esto puede explicar por qué.

We came across this place while staying at Union Jack Club, breakfast was very expensive in union jack club, and could not have cheaper portions, we do not eat big breakfasts. So we went to silvas what a good choice they had you could just pick a small breakfast for just a fraction of union jack prices.in fact two of us ate for same price as one breakfast in union jack club.And was very good.

Silva’s is a National treasure; nestled behind the Shaftesbury Theatre it provides great food at reasonable prices, served by a family team who embody the ‘customer is always right’ approach.

Food is good if pretty basic, but freshly cooked by friendly staff. Bit of a find in the middle of London. Prices are amazingly cheap for the location.

Popped in for lunch before a matinee of Motown the musical. A simple menu, but great food and good value, friendly staff. What more do you want??

Can’t fault this place. Great food. Great service. Great prices given the location. We had fish & chips, washed down with a bottle of Peroni and cannoli to take away. Perfect.

Read a few reviews and also chose as near to Shaftesbury Theatre. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. Sandwiches were lovely doorstep, soft and tasty. Latte was delicious too.

I ordered a pasta buffet from Silva's for my office and it was incredible!!!!!!!!!

had a very tight 30 minute window before theatre, and staff able to accomadate the four of us with a delicous meal of grilled fish, salad and fries. a bottle of wine and we left 25 minutes , full and happy , to enjoy motown. our waiter was very friendly

Although the coffee was good and the waitress was polite, the rest of the staff were extremely rude I understood remarks in Italian!!! Sadly, I would not recommend

Mi hermana y yo vinimos aquí antes del teatro a tomar café.

La comida está realmente rica, un oasis entre la comida que se suele comer. El personal es maravilloso y un local acogedor.

Es muy dificil encontrar un restaurante/bar en que la comida esté buena. Nosotros comimos tanto pasta como carne y estaba todo riquísimo.

Came here for breakfast and we were blown away. The food was amazing, the dining area was very clean and the service was also excellent. Would definitely eat here again on our return to London!

Had a burger which was ok but greasy spoonesq catering type. More concerned about barracaded and boarded clearly signed FireDoor as only exit was via a narrow route passed the cooking area. Can't imagine Fire Inspection has passed this

Really Nice tretment, clean and a nice athonsphere. The food was great! The teeagers had burger and carbonara and loved it! I hade fish with sallat, really frech and nice.

Excellent coffee - decided to go back for pre-theatre dinner and that was a very good decision. We had an excellent meal. It is a family run business and so much better than a chain. Well worth a small detour.

Tras visitar el Brisith Museum, vinimos a dos a comer a este restaurante italiano, y la verdad es que es bastante recomendable. Los precios son bastante asequibles (y más estando dónde está y siendo Londres) y la comida estaba bastante buena (y además usan aceite de oliva!).

Delicious, huge panini‘s at excellent prices. Great choice. Quick, efficient and very very tasty. Panini’s were stuffed with filling! Also 5min walk from British Museum and Shaftesbury Theatre!

Stopped off by chance before theatre.... Ordered two paninis and some chips. Service was flawless and food was authentic. Panini fillings were ridiculously generous!! Great find.

Went back to silva's again. I had a full English breakfast and my girlfriend had a Mediterranean chicken meal. Always a great meal served. Nice coffee and helpful staff. Also good value for money for central London.

Situato vicino al British questo locale offre primi e secondi di ricette italiane. Abbiamo preso un piatto semplice petto di pollo grigliato con patate fritte ma la carne era buona,le patate asciutte e croccanti ed il conto davvero onesto.

Disfrutamos de nuestra primera comida tanto que volvimos una segunda noche. La comida es muy buena, el servicio rápido y amable y las porciones son grandes. Buena relación calidad-precio y razonable para el centro de Londres. El Schnitzel con Spaghetti bolognaise era enorme y que no pudimos terminar. Durante las dos noches los cuatro de nosotros probamos distintas comidas y eran todos muy buenos. Recomiendo este restaurante para una buena comida.

The service and the meal was great! The reason I gave 4 stars because the table(13) I chose was little bit uncomfortable. The lady was very nice, the meal was ready in a few minutes and delicious.

Visited this restaurant yesterday before going to see Motown, had lasagne and my wife had carbonara one of the nicest I have had. Also had a lovely chilled out vibe would have stayed longer if we wasn't going to the show

Buena comida a buen precio. Típico fish & chips, comida italiana y hamburguesas. Buen servicio y muy amables. Fuimos con niños pequeños, tuvimos un pequeño error con un plato y lo cambiaron sin problemas.

Someone I work with recommended this place to me so I looked the place up, 5 star food hygiene, no reviews below a 3 rating on here, I thought why not? Well I soon found out 'why not'.

Me encanta trabajar aquí, a la vuelta de la esquina así que venga aquí. El menú de la comida es buena y variada, así que siempre tiene algo que estoy en el estado de ánimo. La comida es generalmente buena en este momento del día, y tiene precios muy razonables para el centro de Londres. Todos son muy amables, y es perfecto para una parada rápida en el almuerzo.

Nos encontramos con este Gill en nuestro camino hacia el teatro shaftesbury, aparecimos para un aperitivo antes del teatro, los bocadillos y rellenos eran tan frescos, el tostados y patatas fritas deliciosas, con un personal encantador y un excelente servicio. Nos impresionó mucho, decidimos visitar después del espectáculo para la cena, de nuevo recibimos la misma deliciosa comida recién preparada que el mismo servicio amable. El vino de la casa es excepcional. Recomendaría esta pequeña joya de una parrilla.

No puedo conseguir suficiente de Silva, son amables y la comida es genial, especialmente los de pasta y pescado. Sus raciones son enormes, así que vaya con un gran apetito!

Husband and I love this place - we love it as a breakfast venue (great coffee, fresh croissants) and we love it as a lunch/supper venue. I adore the home made spaghetti pomodoro - which is packed with flavour. The helpings are generous, the price is exceptionally reasonable and the welcome and service makes you feel like part of the family. What more could you wish for?

Ausgehungert nach dem Besuch beim British Museum sind wir dort zufällig gelandet. Zuerst wollten wir ein Sandwich to Go mitnehmen haben uns dann aber doch - auch wegen der freundlichen Bedienung - entschieden dort zu essen. Kaffee war sehr gut und alles in allem auch sehr preiswert.

Locale alla buona vicino al british museum, personale gentile e disponibile, i proprietari sono di origine italiana quindi per un bel piatto di pasta è il posto giusto. Molto buona anche la carne grigliata e il pesce. I piatti sono abbondanti ed il prezzo è giusto, direi economico visto che ci troviamo a Londra città un po' cara per noi italiani.

We were in a bit of a rush so needed a quick but decent meal. Silva’s was the perfect answer! It’s a no frills, no nonsense sort of place and the food was delicious! We both had a super pasta dish, which after a few earlier libations were just the job. It was then just a very short walk around the corner to the Shaftesbury Theatre. All very reasonably priced too. We had a delicious (and enormous!) carbonara and lasagne before going to see a show at The Shaftesbury Theatre. Service was quick and friendly. We would highly recommend and will definitely return.

We stumbled upon this place whilst sight seeing. It made a great place for a stop offend to take the weight of our feet for a while.I had the days special panini, roast beef with mixed vegetables and cheese, very tasty, promptly served and packed with filling. Represented excellent value for money. My wife has simple poached eggs on toast, which to her pleasure were properly done and she was able to pop the yoke on her toast. The staff were friendly and efficient. Would certainly use again.

My daughter and I came here for a late lunch on our first day in London. We had been up all night on an overnight flight and were searching for a nice place to eat. So glad we walked by Silva's. The staff were unpretentious and friendly. Prices were very reasonable. We sat in the second room by the front windows. I had a delicious tuna melt panini with fries and my daughter had a vegetarian panini. We also had lattes. A very pleasant lunch. We would definitely return!

We chose this place as it was well situated for the Shaftesbury Theatre almost next. Cafe closes at 7pm, but that was fine for us. Very fair prices for everything. Small drinks menu, various Italian themed dishes and a few specials. Service was fast and efficient. Well deserves its high rating.

Centrally located yet hidden away, one stumbles across Silva's rather than sets it out as a destination. Once inside service is brisk and friendly. Food (mine a mixed grill) of good quality, good size and, for the West End, total value in pricing. They make a good cup of tea too. Thoroughly recommended and probably become my venue of choice vis a vis lunch in the coming months.

Is this the best value for money place in the West End? - like a top end cafe rather than restaurant - I paid £10!!!!! for a lovely, freshly made Chicken Milanese. The Manageress is lovely...and very welcoming.

We had taken our 2 visitors from Mauritius to London for the day. We arrived at 11.30am and made our way to the Hop on Hop off bus stop where we got on a bus and hoped we would see the sites of London, we were soon in a lot of congestion as roads had been closed and the buses diverted due to a visit from the Spanish Royal family.We decided that due to the slowness of the buses we would be better to walk as it would be quicker!!!As we approached Shaftesbury Avenue we came across Silva's bar, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the coffee and cakes were delicious, probably one of the best coffees I had had in a while. I think it was Silva who told us we were very close to Oxford Street, she directed us and off we went to walk the length of Oxford Street and eventually getting to Marylebone Train Station and home.

Not been here for some months now and was impressed to see the place giving a great service as it has before.Had the Penne pasta dish, it was piping hot and plenty to satisfy an hungry appetite. Good to see reasonable prices too on the menu.

Came here as a group of 3 for dinner before the theatre. The serving time was incredibly quick and we had our drinks and food in no time at all. Went for the classic dish of spaghetti bolognese and it was beautiful. Felt genuinely Italian with the owner serving us and a good atmosphere, would definitely eat here again.

What an amazing find this was, we were looking for somewhere to eat near the theatre, and were limited for time, we mentioned this to the lady who served us and she did everything she could to make sure she accommodated us. This is practically next door and does the most amazing pasta, the sauces were homemade by the owner, and they were delicious, real Italian, all topped off with a lovely glass of prosecco. Will definitely recommend this to friends, I also noticed after that lots of stars of the show we're visiting for sandwiches etc.

We ate here for dinner because we were staying in the area. It was on a cute little block near the theater district and Covent Gardens area. The food was mainly Italian, but they also offered fish and chips and burgers too. The carbonara and lasagna were excellent and the price was really good for the amount and quality of the food.

Called in here for lunch before visting the theatre next door. Good choice on menu for snacks or light lunches, seating and surroundings basic. Busy as they do take away as well. The one thing I didn't like was staff eating behind the counter and then going on to serve.

Im writing this at my table in silvas. New discovery for me. Homely, family run, good and wholesome, totally accommodating. I dont eat wheat by choice, and asked if just a plate of prosciutto and cheese was possible? They graciously obliged. Hot choc great too. Long may it survive. The wild boar burger on specials board was tempting, bet they would do it without the bun. Not sure it qualifies as a coeliac-safe kitchen, depends how sensitive you are. But they will certainly try!

We were looking for somewhere for lunch and happened across Silva's Bar & Grill. We initially thought we fancied a burger, and indeed when we saw them, they looked good, but we chose something from the counter, and both had the grilled breaded chicken, chips and salad, washed down with a beer and glass of rose. The staff were lovely, helped us in our deliberations as to what to choose. The menu is great and they do breakfast until 12.30. The food was delicious, well cooked and nicely presented. Would we go back… Oh yes, and when next in town we will!

The mango and orange was served warm, really needs to be cold! Disappointed with lasagne, I've be lead to believe it's a layer of meat and pasta and so on, Sylvia's was a slab of pasta with the cream sauce in between and a layer of sparsely laid meat on top and covered in Parmesan regardless if you wanted it or not.Other meals did look amazing and inviting so wouldn't rule out going there, just wouldn't order lasagne.Come on Sylvia more meat in between the sheets!!

One thing Silva's certainly isn't is pretentious. Neither is it a 'greasy spoon'. Instead it is relaxed, friendly and simple. The food was well prepared and prompt and the service was first class.The view across Shaftesbury Avenue from a window table presents the beautiful vista that is Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church with its stunning windows; and is an excellent place to watch the world go by on a dry day.Not too far from the major West End theatres, Silva's is a good choice for a pre-matinee brunch, and is not at all expensive for the cost conscious.

Visiting London , and decided to try this little restaurant what gem, food was cooked nicely, we had salmon, pasta, fish and chips and lasagne all so reasonable priced, especially as it's London , staff friendly and very helpful will visit again when in London again

I go to this Covent Garden café now and again just for a sandwich and tea. The service has always been very welcoming and refreshments are good value. There's a large seating area at the back, tastefully furnished with a pleasant atmosphere. Silva's is far better, I think, than a basically similar place near Charing Cross Station.

We recently had lunch at Silva's, and we're very pleasantly surprised by the meal and the cost. We were going to a matinee at the Shaftesbury Theatre and this restaurant is just around the corner. The restaurant is fairly basic, but the service is good, the food is very good and the price was very reasonable especially when taking into account that it is in central London. I had Sea Bass, my friends had lamb cutlets and another had grilled chicken breast and they all enjoyed their lunch.We were very impressed and will definitely eat here again when in this part of London.

I enjoyed a great full English breakfast, and my wife, and son, enjoyed their vegetarian breakfasts. The owner, who served us, and her staff, were happy, pleasant and gave a very good service.

Really nice spot, where We stopped for luch and to get out of the rain.We were going from the British Museum to Convent Garden and decided to stop there since the name was appealing to us, Silva is a common Portuguese surname, and the visual aspect was quite attractive.Saw lot's of movement, lot's of clients coming in, eating and going out, the staff was very helpful and We enjoyed our meals.A spot to come back if We pass through there once again.

I've been here umpteen times as perfectly placed re Covent Garden etc, + each time have been v impressed at the standard of the food: always fresh, always "home cooked" and always absolutely delicious. The quality is way, way ahead of restaurants charging 3 (at least) times as much and the staff, seem to be all family, always v welcoming.Only hesitation re writing this review is that I prob don't want everyone to know how good it is but ....... they''re worth it!

Called in for pre theatre meal on a sat night , 6.15 pm noticed they closed at 7 pm ,on a review site ,So I asked is it ok for a table for 4 ? on entering , there was a few tables with diners still on them ,yes fine the man said ,but I don't think the older lady was too happy about that ! .She didn't have any conversation with us , just took the order ,very blank expression on her face , one meal didn't come as we had ordered but it didn't matter ,we only had an hour 15 mins before the theatre so we just ate it ,shame really because if there was more of a better atmosphere in there it would of got us in the mood for the theatre, we'd had a lot of fun that day and this put the dampers on it Food ok nothing to get excited about , there is plenty of cafes ,resteauraunts about for pre theatre dinner ,so stroll about for choice .

We visited restaurant in family. We order the burgers and grilled fish. The burger was very nice, lovely meat and cheese, they include a good amount of chips and salad. Good relation quality price. I recommend it.

Having read the previous reviews I thought this would be the ideal place to eat prior to the show at the Shaftesbury Theatre.However, being the only 2 waiting to be served we first had to wait a while before our drink/meal order was taken. On receiving my Spaghetti Bolognese it was barely warm so had to return it. The mince although tasty was in chunks.They also left the egg out of my husband's Silva Burger. My salad wasn't very appetising either as contained a few lifeless items.On receiving our bill the waitress said she had deducted the salad because of the lack of the egg in the burger. However we weren't able to check this as bill not itemised and only comes with a total amount on a small piece of paper. Seemed unusual compared to other restaurants.

We called in here for lunch just before a show at the Shaftesbury theatre . What a great little find . The restaurant was packed with diners , but they managed to squeeze us in . Beautiful menu of delicious home cooked food , and the food that was coming out of a tiny little kitchen looked amazing . Presentation was that of a five star restaurant and so too was the wonderful friendly service . We only had time for a snack and a glass of prosecco , but it was delicious , our only regret was that we couldn't spend more time here . We will definitely call here again , superb restaurant .

I was going to an afternoon show at the Shaftesbury theatre and this little place is close by on the same side of the road. It was welcoming and had takeaway facilities too. I was alone but didnt matter. They had skimmed milk which I love in tea so I was soon purring like a cat. The food was more than ample. Family run place. It seemed to be a regular haunt for some younger people which was nice as they made it all the more homely.

Visited last night before going to Shaftesbury theatre. Good location for the theatre as just round the corner.Food was very good service excellent would definately go again .

Our first time in London for many a year this is just round the corner from the Theatre we had a really nice well priced lunch portions were more than ample, fresh tasty service was welcoming and nothing too much trouble Thank you and the show was awesome
