Siesta Coffee in County Durham

Review refers to Colburn Siesta Cafe - but policy quoted below applies across the group. 3 items bought were well beyond their best before date (7 months in some cases ). I returned to the cafe and staff called head office but the call confirmed that it's their policy to keep selling items after best by and refused to refund/exchange. When I looked - some bags of crisps on the shelf had BB dates of Jan 2024. I had to take the time to send photos and make a full complaint through the website- which really made a frustrating situation much worse. There was no notice that items were past their BB and all were sold at full price. All 3 items were stale and clearly affected by their age. Toasties and paninis were fine - not great and quite expensive - but fine and I would have certainly gone and used the cafe again if it had a bit more respect/care for customers.

Parking fine, inside is decorated nicely. No prices anywhere, drive thru or sit down, on anything they were selling, the posters or even on the receipt. The cake was dry, seemed old, not fresh. It needs prices displayed, totally put me off and won't be returning.

Visited the new Siesta Coffee shop and was happily surprised at the coffee, surroundings and the very helpful and organised staff. Food available was a very nice surprise and very good. A must call in or drive through.

Today I was served by Kayleigh. She was very polite and came across as someone who was very happy. I was served with a smile and Kayleigh was very polite. Our drinks were hot and would definitely recommend Siesta

The slowest service I have ever experienced I went through the drive through and waited over 10 minutes for 3 drinks god help me if I ordered food as well. I’m fact I didn’t even wait for the 3rd drink as I had to be done where . Same price as costa but not a patch on the costa service definitely would not recommend or go again .

Siesta Newton Aycliffe is my favourite coffee shop. Always a quality coffee and great service. The owner is forward thinking and making improvements regularly and the ladies who work here are just amazing. Friendly and helpful. Dog friendly outdoors too.

First time at this new coffee shop in Thornaby. Have to say in all the coffee shops I've ever been in around the world it's the first time I've been charged for soya milk in my coffee. Like to give to local businesses but not feeling like I've been had. But looks like back to the big business.

Such a large selection of amazing food, cakes and drinks. 100% recommend. Lovely environment and absolutely gorgeous cafe!

Meet here with friends for our catch up. Always warm welcome, staff pleasant & friendly. Clean comfortable seating. Lots of choice for sandwiches, toasties, biscuits & cakes. We will return.

I came here on a recommendation. I was really surprised as to how pleasant, comfortable and welcoming it was as the outside doesn't do it justice. Reasonable priced and a great selection of cakes and light rays on offer. It will certainly be a place we will return to

Four of us meet to sit outside for a long over due catch up. New seating all positioned for Covid safe. Inside track & trace in place. Staff still smiling through all this. Great coffee always hot & a great choice of cake. Also sandwiches for lunch time. Four coffees four different cakes clean plates says everything.

Two friends and I meet here regular for catch up. Lovely coffee, nice cake or sandwiches. Staff very friendly, cafe clean, spacious and very light. Comfy, welcoming and friendly cannot ask for any more.

I would say siesta go above an beyond they always have great food and the staff are friendly and really kind they are just lovely I bet you would think the same when you go or if you go

My wife and I visit Siesta about once a month. They always have a fantastic range of cakes and a well stocked chiller of sandwiches and savouries The staff are really friendly and provide an excellent service. Seating is comfortable and atmosphere welcoming, making the whole coffee & cake experience first class.

I work nearby and tried the place out. They have good coffee and good cake and the service is good. I'll definitely be back to try them out.

We loved this place. The grandchildren had the GlitterBerry Blast which was well worth it. It had everything kids like to eat; cheese sandwiches and puffs plus chocolate with a smoothie drink, what more can I say. There is loads of other food choices; from toasties to cream cakes, all our favourites. The place was clean. There are ample tables, both inside and out. Parking is free. The staff were great, very busy but really friendly. We will be going back. Thankyou.

1st time visiting Siesta coffee shop and what a surprise I got. It's a hidden gem. Lovely variety of drinks, cakes, toasties, paninis and fruit and ice cream. Will definately be visiting again. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Went in while getting car washed next door..... had 2 sandwiches ..2 cake and 2 coffees.... the sandwiches were meant to be toasted but still cold in middle.... cake was nice....coffee...hubbys coconut vanilla latte was cold ..my hazelnut latte had to hazelnut in.....so not the best visit

Been a few times since my first review and always warm welcome. Simple system choose sandwich from fridges hand over at counter where order your drinks sit down and relax. Staff then take over and bring everything to your table. Pleasant surroundings to sit in.

13 of us called for coffee which turned into a toasted teacake, a scone and one toasted sandwich. We moved a table so we could all sit together. Order at counter but brought to tables by very pleasant staff. On leaving ready to put tables back staff said they would do it very thoughtful when we had moved them. Very pleasant will be back.

Situated on the industrial park but plenty of parking and seating, good coffee and a selection of cakes.
