Costa in County Durham

Just as you would expect, simply excellent

Think it's quite expensive and it's cold in there .

This a nice costas with a bit more light than the normal gloomy street premises, friendly staff and quick service

The coffee was just warm and wasn't filled up.

Only had drinks but young man that served us was brilliant great service

I didn't buy any food. Just a beautiful cup of coffee with those lovely aromas. Sat outside in the sunlight as the weather was nice and warm. The service was quick and professional.

Went in 26/06/24 at 8.40am was served by Chloe she was lovely. However that's about the only thing that was. The food was the standard you'd expect from a Costa but there was no plugs and no WiFi for me to work my laptop. It is also extremely claustrophobic in here and I won't be back. Firmly on Team Gateshead. Only came to Seaham coz I had to for a care home placement which was fab. I also missed the staff in Gateshead and will never be such a traitor again as the atmosphere was taken out completely.

Ordered a veggie wrap and they sent me a chicken one instead. Please check when you do the orders thank you.

Popped in with family to get some takeaway coffees and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Would really recommend

Tables were jam packed with dirty dishes that hadn't been cleaned away. We saw about 3 people actually take full trays that weren't theirs back to the till just so they could sit at a table. Staff were just talking behind the counter and acted quite rudely when asked if they had straws/spoons etc by just pointing the wall breifly where they were. Toilet stank and was very unpleasant.

Came to costa to have a hot chocolate inside to be told they are only using paper cups, the reason I wanted to sit in was to have a proper cup !! I suspect the four members of staff standing about couldn’t be bothered to wash up !!!! Not acceptable

Great coffee always a very warm welcome

This is meant to be a coffee shop where someone can meet friends, work or sit down and relax. There was limited or no heating so everyone was wearing their coats indoors. There were no plugs or WiFi for someone to do any work in. The food and drink was standard for a costa so nothing to comment on. Overall, a poor Costa Coffee experience.

We just wanyed a drink before our journey home, went to Wetherspoons but full so came here, wished we had stayed at Wetherspoons. One staff member went outside to clear the tables, we could see her plainly from where we were sat, she started petting a dog that was sat in it's owners lap ! allowing it to lick her face, all over it with her hands then came inside the shop to work !! I had boiling water, daughter tea, grand daughter a drin and cake. Teapots stained brown with tea, could do with bleaching. 1 toilet so long queues, no wifi. Not worth it, will never go again

Delivery was quick but they forgot to put straws in with our drinks

Drink was OK but I was shocked how discolored n unclean the cups were. My coffee had bits floating in the bottom, the spoon was stained, even the milk jug was brown inside. Expect better.

Hot choc drowned in whip cream which wasn't ticked and don't like. place use to be spot on. But last couple orders all wrong.

Recieved a sausage sandwich instead of bacon and wrong size hot chocolate

Horrible staff and unprofessional. Supposed to be open at 7:00 and hand written sign on door says 7:30. Staff came in at 7:29 and told everyone in queue they had a problem and store would not open until 8:00. I asked if I could wait inside and was told no, so I am using my time to complain about the horrible service until they let me in the building. Go somewhere else if you want to be served. Staff rude and it is now 7:48 and I need to move on to next review site…

It is 7:50 and I have been standing outside since 7:00. Hand written sign shows 7:30 opening, and staff came in at 7:29. They told everyone in queue they ‘had a problem’ and could not open until 8. Their problem is they showed up at 7:29 and did not prepare anything. Worst of all, I simply asked to sit inside the store while they were set up instead of standing outside the door and was told no. Rude and unprofessional woman working there morning of July 1 and her partner turned away at least 10 customers as I am standing here. I will continue leaving negative reviews for them until they open the door (this is my third)

One of my items is missing I ordered a ham and cheese toastie a latte and a raspberry and almond bake the toastie was missing and ive already paid for it

I'm a wheelchair user. The only main grump i have about this particular Costa is the door. I wish they had an automated door for disabled people. I have to sit in my chair and wait for another customer coming in or out to get in. 🙄

Rubbish customer service. Staff are rude and ignorant. I asked politely to stop smashing plates during our conversation and got a filthy look and response.

Had a couple of coffees here recently went in to visit around 3.30pm. Coffee was nice and hot and served quickly by batista, however it was clear to see that the tables hadn't had a clean down for a while and there were used cups and trays evident all over the shop left on tables and window ledges.

Nice turkey / trimmings toasties. Coffee always good.

Took an hour to get here, everything was stone cold and the ham in the toastie was like rubber and the bread was extremely hard. Coffees and hot chocolate had to be warmed in the microwave.

Standard Costa. A little busy, had to queue but a couple of seats available. Quite a small outlet, Food expensive but tasty, coffee adequate but I'm not a huge Costa fan anyway.

Not great.. slow. Saw customers having to clear a table. Prices are ridiculous!

Food took forever to come with delivery time constantly changing then when food came half of order was missing! Won’t be ordering again.

Visited Costa while out gif a walk in Seaham. Immediately imprsssed with the cleanliness and well organised display of food. Staff were warm and friendly and delivered excellent customer experience. Drink was well prepared, warm and very enjoyable. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and plenty of customers on site, a great stopping off place and will definitely be back.

Order was ok but it took the driver ages to find my house and had to give him directions over the telephone which was a bit complicated as couldn't understand his accent and he seemed to have trouble understanding me

Very modern Costa coffee ,very clean and helpfull freindly staff plenty of room to sit in or take away as we did,we will definatly call again when we come back to Seaham.

Paid £3.75 for a slice of cake that wasn’t delivered.

Love it. It's open until 8. Working -from-home peeps, beware, there are no sockets available for customers at this Costa , so come with your gadgets fully charged.

Seats inside and outside available. Drinks served straight away and staff friendly. Toilets in a mess, both bins over flowing, nappies on floor, insects crawling out of bins. Cleaning schedule not changed from previous week. This was at 11.15am

Everything is excellent. No complaints

Good quality food, drink and surroundings as always. I did get double charged and I don't know if it was a staff error or till error but another vigilant staff member noticed and I was refunded. The covid screens really need to be removed as its hard to communicate with all the back ground noise.

Amazing staff, knew the menu well and could clarify that certain drinks were vegan.

Drinks were very nice, but took a little longer with delivery as the driver seemed to be having trouble with finding my address and I got a little frustrated with him on the phone trying to direct him but to give him his due he didn't give up and found me eventually

Not organised - only two staff who were very slow. Had to go back with dirty cup and saucer - no spoon for tea. Forgot to dispense milk for my tea - only two butters for toast and no serviettes. I assumed one of the two staff was undertaking training. However come on Costa we need efficient service and good staffing levels. This branch needs sorting out, it's a franchise and not up to scratch.

Driver only picked up half of the order

Drinks didn't even come with straws! One drink didn't have coffee in when it was ordered with it in!!

Ideal location furniture passed it sell by date stained seats most of table tops in need of something slow service only 3 tables occupied and 3 in queue but the person in front of me walked out as they were fed up of waiting. Shame as used to be nice.Not typical of Costa.

From the photo, this looks like the Costa in Seaham. Went here with a friend to grab a quick take-out coffee each to take to the nearby harbour where we were going to sit and enjoy the views (this is a normal person 5 min walk away but was a moving the car job for two people who have extensive mobility issues). Anyway, ended up taking slightly longer as had the most allergy-aware, friendly and helpful member of staff on, who checked as soon as I ordered a non-dairy milk alternative as to whether that was because of preference or allergy. She double-checked ingredients for me and insisted on the machine being cleaned before making my coffee. Could not have been more helpful. Really good to see the awareness of allergies improving too.

They sent the wrong food, and there was no means of contacting anyone to correct my order. Hangover was not cured!
