First time having a curry from here and the best ive had in ages. The chicken tikka bhuna was lovely

Lovely food but I ordered for 8pm and it came at 7pm which was dissapointing... as I had ordered it forna specific time and even wrote in the notes. The delivery lad was very nice though and did offer to take it back. I would order again because the food was very very nice

Had a takeaway from here. Great value, miles better than most other places. Lovely food too. Ordered for the second week in a row, and it was just as good, if not even better. This is a gem of a takeaway.

Can't believe I went to another one nearby for so long before coming here I just assumed the Indian takeaways in Coventry were bad. Delivery people always very friendly. They never forget to deliver my order or make it. And the food actually tastes good. I think it's really good value too

Ordered large family order What didn’t go wrong 1.popadoms damp 2 3 curry’s were just warm 3.had to reheat 4.Not the same once reheated All we could eat was the starters !!! Had to throw the rest away 5.complained and was told best they could do was 20pc off next order Suffice to say there will not be another order !!! Thanks for rectifying Situation My curry’s today were a lot better Perhaps before was a blip I have adjusted my review accordingly

Ordered takeaway first time trying here, prices are good! 💰 Reviews on just eat are great so checked Google too and here's mine after eating. 😋 I ordered a curry I've never tried before and it was nice but not the best. At least its good fresh flavour/spices and the chicken was cooked great but sauce tasted like habanero hot sauce and i dont like that flavour! 6/10 🍛 Thats my fault for not choosing a familiar flavour of curry like a madras to give a fair review of the curry. 😤 I Ordered keema fried rice that had a weird taste compared to any indian takeaway I've tried before, I didn't enjoy the rice had a burnt plastic taste. 2/10 🍚 I ordered a cheese chill keema naan that was lovely and cooked perfect! 10/10 🫓 Bombay potato was lovely too! 10/10 🥔 Samosas were small but full of flavour and tasted great, little spicy! 9/10 Delivery was on time and driver was very friendly! 😁👍🏻 Prices are cheap and would recommend this place! I've tried lots of indian restaurants in coventry and for the price you can't complain, I will try here again soon with some different curries and ill update my review. Thanks Guys

Just had my first curry from Shurma since it changed back and what a shock - ordered murgh bhuna masala and bhuna madras hot - both came slightly hot but very very salty and very little chicken and watery - the free balti aloo was just as salty, definitely not the same chef as when it was previously the Shurma Not sure I will be trying again in a hurry, what a real shame as was looking forward to have a big family get together and ordering a big takeout again. Shurma - I hope you do read your reviews and take comments on board

Not good food. It’s cheap for a reason. I ordered because of the positive reviews on Just Eat. I’m not convinced they are genuine reviews as my order was awful. Watery sauce, no real flavour, just spice and all the curries tasted the same. I remember trying here when it was Chillies and even then it wasn’t good. The naan bread was the only thing that was good. Delivery driver was friendly and polite.

2nd time ordering. 1st time curry’s we’re cooked using tikka chicken. Not a fan of tikka but still tasted ok. 2nd time, naan breads tasted mouldy. 1 garlic and 1 plain. Garlic one had no garlic in it so I guess they were both plain. Not sure if it’s the bags they use to deliver the product or the bread,but put me off my whole meal. Such a shame.

Possibly the best lamb madras I've had in a long time.... I have probably eaten from every take away in cov this is one of the two best I'd say 5 stars

Ordered a kormer very watery the chicken very tough and a funny colour won’t get my order again

Absolutely rank , order delivery tonight never again , some of the food tasted musty, chicken was bland , everything else was tasteless a few spoonful's and we binned the lot ..............

Food tast sweet and cpati charge £1.50 each but when you rcive ots totila meat biriani build rice no meat vegetables have no vegetables only souse very disponted wast off money 😕😕

Placed order online, food arrived on time, delivery driver pleasant. Food was piping hot and delicious. I ordered for three people, all agreed it was superb. 10 out of 10.

Lovely curry, first time ordering from here. I was a bit unsure at first after seeing the reviews on here, but I must admit it was one of the best lamb Madras I ever had in Coventry. Hope they keep up the good work and I am sure I will be ordering again. Big portions. Thanks guys

This was our fourth meal order in the past month from this gem of a place! The food on every occasion has been spot on. Full of flavour and generous portions.

Not the cheapest curry house, but the quality and taste!!! Wow. Try the garlic chilli chicken and vegetable rice .lots of fresh spices and subtle flavours.

Fancied a lazy night and thought we'd try our local takeaway. Not disappointed at all!! Friendly staff and the food was great. The complimentary onion bhaji for collection were a nice touch too.

Used to love a Shurma meal. Now I love a Chillies meal, although the prices have significantly increased and the nans seem to have shrunk.

Have always enjoyed the food from Shurma takeaway. I was unaware it had been taken over. I ordered through Just Eat the curry was inedible and the Nan breads were raw. I will not order again.

Really bad experience. Please do not order food. We waited for more than 1.5 hours after the estimated delivery time. We were not able to reach the restaurant. Nobody answers the call. Food was bad. Wouldn't recommend.

Was just under an hour late for delivery. Phones not answered when checking on order Prices are not far off double what they were when it was Shurma Had a chicken chilli curry which was so vinegary that it was inedible. Stuffed paratha was slimy and undercooked. Chicken madras was poor. Also odd they are still using shurma's phone number, and Facebook and Google also linked to shurma, but def seperate business Will never order from them again

Friendly staff on the phone and delivery. Delivery did take 1hr instead of the quoted half an hour though... Lamb bhuna sauce was tasty and plenty of it, could have done with more lamb. Chicken tikka masala sauce was very sweet, too sweet. Mushroom fried rice was delicious and a good sized portion. Cheese & garlic naan wasn't cheesey or garlicy. All in all not a bad first order but some improvements/tweaks are needed for a 5 star review particularly as the prices have gone up considerably since it was taken over. I will be ordering again as some of the downsides could have been due to it being a new business.

One of the worst places to try authentic Indian food. Chicken Karahi was basically bits of chicken breasts in Tesco Balti Curry sauce. Chicken Biryani was completely dry and bland, did not have the authentic biryani masala nor good chicken portions (just small bits of chicken tikka). Literally, I had to bin half of the food. This explains the low prices of the food. I would recommend to not get tempted by the low prices of the food and avoid this place completely, if you are looking for authentic Indian food.

Chicken biryani was as dry as Sahara Desert. Worst biryani I’ve ever tasted. Chicken Karahi tasted like chicken in tomato pasta sauce. I hate wasting food but I’m glad I did with this order. Also, Google should really keep a 0 star option! Horrible experience, being an Indian, I would definitely not recommend this place.

The food here is fantastic, delivery time says 40-60 mins which is fine, I know they have to cook it and have lots of other orders, I do understand that and I'm prepared to wait, but 2 hours later and still no delivery is stretching it a bit, sorry foods lovely but won't be going again☹️

Ordered through just eat and I've an hour later the driver has still not arrived. Called the restaurant and thwy laughed at me and didn't even apologize. Trying to cancel order now

Delicious food and spice is on point, cheff most definitely cooks the curries different to other Indian shops as its so much more better than others. Best indian food in coventry and I live 5 mins aways I'm loving it.

Unfortunately can't give 0 stars. Found a black 3 inch hair and a dead fly on the naan bread. Obviously have no regard for food hygiene. Should be wearing hair net if hair is that long. If there is a hair and a fly on one naan bread, I dread to think what was hiding in the curry. Phoned them and they offered a replacement naan, we refused. Then a refund for the naan only! They did not seem to care, acted like it was a regular occurrence. Absolutely disgraceful and have felt physically sick since. Will definitely never order from there again. We live less than a 3 minute drive from their shop and order was still 20 mins late. We ordered at 16:30 on a Thursday, so not a typically busy period. So, if your happy with the extra protein, try the place otherwise there are plenty of better local places to try.

This Takeaway is amazing. Food is absolutely gorgeous and myself and my husband are well fussy. The staff are lovely and if you forget something they either ring you or just add it in. Love Shurma.

Plenty of parking. Food is ok but there's plenty. Price wise. Is ok it was cheap a couple of weeks back but the prices have shot up to the point that I'll be going back to my usual place where the quality is better. Now under new ownership. Food quality has seen a massive improvement. Food was great as was the price. To cap. Excellent food at a great price.

Very tasty! Food seems freshly prepared and service is very friendly. We love the Bhaji and Samosas. Have ordered several times in the last month and food is consistently. good. We live just down the road so don't use delivery, I just walk up to collect.

We decided to have our first curry from here. It was very nice plenty of chicken in our curry and the sauce was lovley. Went to collect the food the guy on the till was friendly and great service will be back.

My brutally honest review is that it is BAD! I have been to many Indian restaurants over the last 30 years and it's safe to say that this is on the awful side. My experience was: no/little flavor; most of the curry was watery; little spice on the spiciest food and the rice and the naan bread was pretty dry. Don't recommend it folks because MY MOM MAKES BETTER FOOD HOMEMADE... just say'in!

Chicken is processed, texture is more like mozzarella. Prices have raised and quality has lowered. Won’t be about long at this rate...

Just picked up a lovely balti meal: one was chicken tikka balti and my partners was a chicken and mushroom balti. Both are fantastic with the right meat to sauce ratio and tender pieces of chicken. So for when you just want a great Indian that is quality then this takeaway is spot on and won't disappoint.

One of the best Chicken Tikka Masalas I have ever had . Huge portions , lovely bite sized chicken . Very tender and the sauce was very tasty . So much food here enough for two people . Really recommended .

First time ordering from here tonight. I had chicken & mushroom tika Masala with egg fried rice & keema nan tray of sauces with poppadum & seekh kaeba literally everything was perfect the nan was huge and the bread and meat ratio was spot on, curry full of flavour..... it was all absolutely delicious. Speedy delivery and great customer service...even gave me free onion bhaji and samosas, how delightful 🤗 I can't wait to order again very soon !!

Huge portions with loads of chicken. Decent flavour, perhaps a little bit salty, but not going to knock a star off for that as the service was excellent and the price was definitely a bonus. You'll be hard pushed to find anywhere else giving you this standard of food at those prices. I'll be back!

It's new it's very nice food would recommend you try it for yourself and reasonable prices friendly staff and it's clean and the kitchen is very clean

Don't believe the negative reviews. Some people thrive on criticism. I've eaten 5 times from here and it's been 5***** every time. If in doubt drive past on a Saturday about 8pm and see for yourself. You won't even get in the door it's so busy. Speaks for itself !

These guys sell burgers claiming its an ‘american experience’ literally the worst burger and chips ive had in my life. Wouldn’t even take it if it was free. Don’t order burgers with these guys.

I've found the quality of the food excellent and often portions are overwhelming. I come from an Asian background so appreciate a good curry and i do have high expectations but i enjoy the taste of rajah & teams curry. If there is an issue they are willing to cooperate and rectify issues.

We are vegetarians so my review relates only to the "pure vegetarian balti" dishes. They are extremely greasy, tasteless, and all the same. We ordered 6 different dishes as sides. Some vegetables were super soft while the onions and garlic for instance were undercooked. Very disappointed, as it's all nice packaging and interior but the actual product tastes like it was made by someone who is a novice at best and never actually tasted their own food before serving. Not to mention the cramps and unpleasant morning after. There are much better alternatives around, our preferred options are the Sonali Balti or Dosa Village.
