Ordered food from the website only to find they use the food hub to place the order if you want to pay by card. Order cost £12 more than if I had phoned the order through to the shop. Don’t use food hub when ordering. Phone order and pay cash on delivery if you don’t want to be ripped off.

AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD & QUALITY Eaten here a few times now, food is always exceptional, fresh & tasty. Very friendly staff & very good service. The Chicken balls & beef with green peppers in black bean sauce was so very delicious. It was one of the best that I've had so far.

Very disappointed with our meal tonight . Rost pork chow mien bland extra greasy. I was left waiting over 40 mins on my order i must submit the chicken balls was cooked to perfection however the sweet and sour sauce lumpy and tast like vinegar,totally unedadle.

Had amazing food from there tonight, very flavourful and an amazing portion size too, staff were all really friendly and welcoming and didn’t have to wait long either, highly recommend, I will be visiting again I won’t go anywhere else from now on!

The most disgusting 🫣 meal I have ever had! Shun da was the most amazing takeaway...don't know what has happened...I ordered pork dumplings..I had raw prawn dumplings with burned sauce! The food overall was greasy, salty and absolutely vile! Made me physical sick!! I will NEVER order from here again!

I order from here at least once a month. Always excellent quality, fast delivery and more than reasonable prices. Keep up the great service! Even to this day. 5 years on from the initial review, this takeaway still fails to impress. Thanks again.

Been going to Shunda for at least 7 years, always good food and quick service but last nights meal was awful. Not sure if it’s changed ownership or if they’ve changed the chef but something has changed and Its not for the better. I ordered our usual meal and I noticed that the lady taking the order on the phone wasn’t the regular Chinese lady. I was told to collect in half hour, this seemed longer than normal because the Chinese lady that answers the phone normally says collect in 10mins. Anyway I arrived 35 minutes later and it wasn’t ready so I sat down in the waiting room for another 20 minutes before my order came out. That’s the first time that’s happened. Got the meal home and it was very different to our usual meal. The Roast pork fried rice was bland as was the chicken chow mein and the barbecue sauce was inedible, it was congealed, had a bitter taste and smelled burnt . This is such a shame as we’ve been going here for years but I think it’s time to try somewhere else now .

Use to be a regular here had tonight and it was absolutely terrible food was rubbish and one of the meals smelt realy bad won't eat here again must have changed owners

Pre-ordered food for 7pm, delivery arrived at 5.30pm! Told driver to return food to Shunda, as we weren't ready to eat it then. We assumed we would receive freshly cooked food.... But we didn't. The order was redelivered at 6.45pm.The food was cold & was obviously the originally cooked food. The food was obviously left out at room temperature, as it was so cold. Appalling. The food contained prawns, pork, beef, chicken & rice, which is quite concerning for food safety. We didn't receive our 4 poppadoms either. Very disappointed & very bad service, considering it was their error, not ours. This used to be a good Chinese, but standards have gone downhill.

Absolutely shocking food tonight cold soggy chicken balls overcooked mushy special rice greasy cold prawn toast all terrible spent over £25 most in bin.phoned to complain was offered nothing.asked where the food was told them dogs had chicken balls . Rest in bin. No refund or replacement offered will NEVER go there again . Disgusting service and food.

The only Chinese I order off, absolutely perfect every time

I've been going there for years and have always been amazed by the food. Sadly there seems to be a change of staff and and recently the quality of the food and the overall friendliness of the place has nosedive. It has declined to a level that I couldn't possibly recommend this place to anyone. The 'front of house' guy is unfriendly to the point of being rude, they refuse card payments, the food has become so bad that even my kids have decided they don't want to eat from there anymore, neither do I. Whoever made these changes has condemned the Shun Da to drop from the best Chinese takeaway in Neath to the worst. Please base your opinion on recent reviews as this lovely takeaway was magical until these changes.

Terrible since recent change of staffing after 10+ years of custom: food is no longer fresh. Chips and prawn crackers either cooked in stale oil or a couple of days old and re-heated. This has happened twice and will now take custom elsewhere.

One of the nicest takeaways I have had in a long time with amazing customer service. I will happily be going back!

Food was lovely and only thing I will say is the portions are massive be having to eat the left overs for the next few days and the receptionist and delivery driver was really polite big thumbs up from me

Food used to be lush, had it for 1st time in months and wasn't the best, beef chow mein burnt could taste the pan, chicken balls were very floury and mushy, special fried rice really over cooked, chicken curry was completely different and not nice, mushrooms very watery

The food is OK most of the time, collecting is quicker than delivery.

So disappointed with this place. Ordered a salt and pepper box from here last year and remembered it being amazing so went back tonight to try again. Paid £20 for the meal and drove 20 minutes to collect it and it was barely edible. Chicken was so thickly battered that you couldn’t bite through it, prawns were cold and rubbery, chips were hard and stale and the whole thing just tasted of salt. Best thing about it was the free spring rolls. Won’t be wasting money and time here again unfortunately.

Ordered in error to wrong restaurant as I am from Devon and it had the same name as my local! the owner was very helpful and offered a full refund even though the food had been cooked. Excellent service

We placed our order at 7:20pm, the delivery time was 1 hour. After 1 and a half hours I tried to phone and couldn’t get an answer, I phoned 15 times and managed to get an answer at half past 10. I asked about my order and was was not rude but when I gave my address the person put the phone down so I phoned back again and they took my address and I waited nearly 10 minutes on the phone while they went to check. When they came back I was told that they are just about to prepare my order it will be with me as soon as possible, I asked if could have a rough idea and I was told no we’re not sure and then they put the phone down. It’s not been 4 hours since I ordered and the delivery still hasn’t arrived and I had already paid for it online. This place is usually really good and have been ordering from here for years but this has put me off and I will not be ordering again.

Waited 3 hours for our food to arrive. Gave up and actually went to the place, had to wait another 30 minutes for food.

Please avoid this place ordered food from there Saturday food was 2 hours late only to find when opening it was full of maggots never go there again

It's my local Chinese and I've been going there for several years. The food is fabulous, the menu extensive. I've never had a bad meal or poor service. I'm lucky to have them nearby. We'll done guys, five star from me and a big Thank You

Thought I'd give this place a try as It was only down the rd and the weather was awful. Anyhow. So glad that I did! The food was absolutely stunning. Plenty to feed three of us and even the dog had the extra sausage that came with the sausage and chips meal. The rice was fluffy and the king prawns juicy and as for the curry sauce. Well. Just spot on. From the food right down to the service I was Impressed. Would definitely recommend these guys and I think I've found my new Chinese takeaway. Shall definitely be ordering again

I ordered box meal 3 and changed the wings for squid, happy to pay the extra £1, along with peaking sauce. When I called up to explain what happened the woman was very rude, insisting I had asked for the ribs to be replaced with the squid and not the wings (I don't like wings) so there's definitely no way I'd have made this mistake. To top it off the peaking sauce wasnt supplied they gave me gravy instead, which I never ordered!!!

I am so disappointed this evening. I ordered chicken curry but it is so bland and tasteless that I could only eat a small amount of it. I dont know whether there is a new chef there but he needs some lessons otherwise I am changing my chinese takeaway

We have been getting takeaways from here for a few months but I ordered a chicken curry this evening which was bland and tasteless and I only ate a few mouthfulls. What a waste of money. Either the chef needs upskilling or they need to get another one in. Really disappointed

Chinese is my absolute favourite and have tried all in the area. This one is without a doubt the best chinese in the area. Great and fast service. Not at all greasy. All the food is amazing and always comes with freebies. Also the nicest people. Cannot reccomend enough.

Have ordered a few times now and can never get over the value for money.... We order the box meals which comes packed with food, and they also throw in tons of freebies. Today's order came within 20 mins which had me gobsmacked. Friendly driver and staff on the pjone cannot recommend this place enough. Thanks again to all the staff we will certainly be ordering again soon

Came 1 hour and 40 minutes after placing the order with no apology whatsoever. Poor customer service when I phoned up to ask where my food was - Really disappointed as I have ordered here in the past without issue. Won't be returning. When the driver arrived, she informed us that the lady taking orders on the phone isn't very good and lots of people have reported the same issue - speaks volumes! If you don't want the hassle then I wouldn't buy your food here.

Tonight we thought we would treat ourselves to a pay day take away and ordered through the shun da website. Normally we order through just eat but have been advised by the take away on many occasion to order through their website and receive 10% off. I thought I’d order tonight for a change through their website not just for the discount but In the hope that food would arrive swiftly. How wrong could I have been? 1 hour and 14 minutes later there is finally a knock on the door. With an apology they were busy....on a Sunday! When I start unpacking the food it’s clear that it has been packaged for a long time as the bags are now translucent! Cold rubber chips, cold rubbery spring rolls! So disappointed! I then unpack my daughters prawn toast- only to find it cold, battered and broken! I wouldn’t mind so much but this cost me £30 and was our treat! So gutted! I hope this was a one off but I won’t be trying again.

quite simply the best chinese takeaway iv ever had in neath...we had king prawns in oyster sauce...a pork dish,singapore rice,crispy seaweed...it was fabulous....i cannoy praise this place highly enough...fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!! the threw in lots of freebies...it was wonderful..

Usually my Chinese of choice, never again. Had to wait an hour and a half for delivery, food came and was cold, the duck needed to be cooked longer and was more fat than meat rest of the food was bland, also was meant to have free prawn crackers and never had these. I will be going elsewhere from now on.

We ordered our food at 6.20pm over £30.00 of food they said it would be delivered in 45 minutes i had to ring them as our food hadn't turned up it was now 7.30pm i rang them to find out they hadn't even cooked our food yet they we're very busy i said you never said you was busy you said my food would be delivered in 45 minutes? Oh i know sorry!! She said i mean just tell people so they can make that decision . i told her to cancel my order terrible service wouldn't bother again.....☹☹

Personally if I could write this review with zero stars I would . After spending approx £100.00 per month as a family, ordering from this takeaway. Being great customers. Regular . Plus tips. Last time we ordered the chicken curry which is exactly the same order we have every Saturday night as our treat meal was awful It was the first time this had happened. It was totally inedible. It tasted so bad we needed to ring to find out after months of using this takeaway what was wrong with the chicken . With my 2 children and both adults here hungry we rang up and the lady who always takes our order was so lovely but unfortunately her " boss " " manager" as she called him was extremely rude so much so that he reluctantly sent us 2 chicken Currys but said we need to pay extra for the rice !!! Which btw is free with the curry on the menu :/ he shouted and was unbelievably rude in the background . So much so the lady on the phone sounded ashamed of him and apologised on his behalf. I asked why are we having to pay for rice when we already had paid for the Currys before hand along with spring rolls etc . She said her boss said he couldn't give another order for free. He felt his cooking was fine Absolutely stunned that after he sent out a meal that was totally inedible he then was so rude to us after us never having any complaints prior... But when it came down to their customer service for something they needed to correct they made us feel like it was our fault. As a business person myself giving free rice lol!!!! Is not exactly a gift when it's already on the menu free. In fact a free meal after never having a complaint plus the inconvenience of this happening is a small good will gesture. In fact I'd go as far as saying if you carry on having a go at customers when you deliver food that can't be eaten then try to charge them with NO APOLOGY your not going to continue being busy. To finish this zero star rating I'd like to say to the manager/boss of " Shun da" Nothing in life lasts forever. Feedback goes around . One day you may wake up and your busy business won't be so busy. So when you have loyal customers like we were every week , if you cannot respect them when you make mistakes probably because your rushing and are extremely rude like you were then you'll lose them . One by one. I would not recommend this Chinese takeaway to anyone for the main fact if you are loyal and line their pocket and if your order isn't right they blame you. Good luck . Now we will take our business elsewhere to one of many highly recommended 5 star takeaways that have great customer service manners.
