I called in for my usual cappuccino great service but the owner informed me that they would not be open any more that is a pity as they was the best cafe, bakery around this area.

I visit this coffee shop regularly and I can not fault it at all. The staff are always friendly and extremely helpful nothing is to much trouble. I have tried many meals in here over the last 10 years and it’s always to a high standard and never had a bad meal! All the food is cooked to order so it’s really fresh and hot but your never waiting to long! I’ve read the review below mine and I think you must have got the wrong place because your review does not match the place I’ve been visiting for the past 10 years. Unless your beard oil had been getting in your mouth first!

Greasy spoon is a term often seen as derogatory, but it's not. Personally, I like a little more from a breakfast than items chucked on a plate willy-nilly but it appeals to some. They use awful bacon too. Shame, the service is good but it's not in the same bracket as a competitor three doors down. It's more of a workers cafe then one you'd take your Mum too for a tea.

I visit this place on a regular basis lovely family owned business They start work at 6am and close at 2pm in order to go to there bakery to make cakes for the next day it does disappoint me when you go on trip advisor to look at reviews and see someone’s business branded time wasters they work hard and are not there just to wait on you rachel !!!!!!!!! But I would not listen to this negative review and visit this coffee shop for yourself and enjoy a lovely meal and one of there cakes

My husband and I dropped in at Shortcake at about 1.20pm on a Friday, hoping for a quick lunch. As there was no space downstairs we were directed upstairs to a rather cold and bleak room. We were told that we would find menus there, which we did. As we didn't want to take too long, and the waitress hadn't come upstairs after 10 minutes, I went back downstairs to order only to be told that we could no longer order hot food as it was now (just) 1.30. We left and went off to find somewhere with a better idea how to look after customers. This little escapade cost us 15 minutes and some annoyance. What a shame.

What a find, on my weekly work trip to Wragby. I always call in for our breakfast and always find it to be of very high quality and the staff are excellent too always polite and have good banter. Oh and one more thing we sometimes take a sneaky cake home too which r sinful yet divine. Wouldn't wanna go anywhere else.

Been going to Shortcakes on the regular for about 6months from breakfast to lunch and even the odd takeout and the food is always excellent and so are the cakes which are fresh everyday. A good variety and choice on the menu and will cater to the oddest requests such as a slice of black pudding next to my beefburger. Staff are always friendly and up for a bit of banter and a laugh and are always polite. Always a nice atmosphere and a very clean establishment and the owners/staff take pride in there work and it shows from start to finish.

On our visit to the sunny resort of Ingoldmells... We call off in the market place in Wragby to what I can only describe as the elite of a Lincolnshire breakfast... Wbat I mean is these are the best baguettes you'll ever taste.... When you live in Lincolnshire you expect Lincolnshire sausages!! And shortcakes don't disappoint (you wouldn't go to Devon without having a cream scone!! Or seaside without fish and chips??) Me and the lad have a baguette with the finest Lincolnshire sausages my other half has a double egg and mushroom with tomatoes..not forgetting the all important single sausage for the dog... During the cooking time the shortcakes staff are friendly and the amount of years we've been coming have a giggle as we all look forward to our Saturday morning baguettes.... Like they say try it you might like it... Oh did I mention they do cakes and stuff... Not just the best breakfast baps in Lincolnshire... But a bloody good cake shop too ...

Called in for lunch. Bloke stood cooking so had to wait to be served. Girl comes to serve and took pleasure in telling me they had stopped cooking at 2.30. Time now 2.32. Been waiting longer than the 2 mins. Never go in again. So ignorant. Stay away! Butchers nearby do good takeaway food with pleasant service.

Ignored by staff, no nod of acknowledgement, or indicating I will be next to be served, overlooked in favour of clearly 'locals' who came in after me. This did however give me time to watch the male cook, interestingly cooking mushrooms on the same hotplate as bacon and sausages, my vegetarian breakfast was now off the menu, no meat splatter for me thank you. In the 15 minutes I was stood at the counter, I only had someone notice me as I walked out, this Wragby resident will not be returning

We had a lovely stop here for tea with a very cheap and wrlcome refill. The ladies serving were very nice and friendly and everything was spotlessly clean. It was fun watching the comings and goings of the Market Place and the sunshine made it a treat. Very good all round.

Welcoming, friendly staff. Coffee made as requested. Spotlessly clean and cakes are truly homemade. If you fancy something savoury the pasties are delicious. Excellent value.

Myself and a work colleague stopped off here for our customary full English and it was nearly faultless. The only gripe I had was when asked whether we wanted toast or bread,my colleague got a choice but I was given bread without being asked..I didn't want either really but hey hoe.

I have given Shortcakes 5 stars based on service in the takeaway section. I haven't yet used the cafe section so can't comment on that, however, from what I see there is plenty of seating inside, outside & upstairs.

Staying in Aby village for a week's holiday and had to try the local pub. Exterior looks a bit "tired" but don't be put off - inside it's friendly. cosy and lots of character. Excellent choices of dishes on the menu and "daily specials" board - we especially appreciated the choice of gluten-free options and Dawn was happy to go through each option in detail. Good portions and served hot! Very tasty and wholesome. Wide range of dessert options too and it was evident from conversations with other diners, that Dawn would also be happy to adapt these just to suit individual requirements. Obviously very deserving of the many awards over many years.

I ordered a Sunday roast delivery from here and it went in the bin as soon as it arrived! Everything was burnt to a crisp and absolutely disgusting, I would not recommend eating here at all! I've heard from a few people how awful the food has been there for a while now but thought we'd give it a go for ourselves. Avoid at all costs and don't waste your money here!
