Great Sunday lunch, lots of lovely fresh veg and meat was really tender. Staff very friendly & very happy for us to take our German Shepherd in with us. Dog treats on the bar. Would highly recommend.

Returning to the pub with the new management we were very happy with our Sunday lunch. The food was delicious; even my anti-veg partner and daughter were very happy. We will be back!

Lovely location, we came over the New Year staying in the cottage next door. A community owned pub in a small village. The couple running the place were very friendly and accommodating, good selection of beers and good pub food at reasonable prices. A bit out of the way but worth a detour.

The Shoemakers Arms is a lovely traditional village pub. We came to stay locally for a week and ate 3 times in the Shoemakers Arms. The food was straight forward and most importantly, very tasty. Everyone we spoke to was extremely welcoming. Not a large menu but enough variety to cover most preferences.

Staying nearby, so popped in on a Friday night for something to eat. Wife and I both had the burgers, on recommendation from some locals. Absolutely fantastic! So many places promise to make a great burger, and so many just go through the motions and serve up a dry tasteless lump of meat sandwiched in a bun, not here. This was exceptionally tasty , made to their own recipie using local ingredients, big , juicy and cooked to perfection. Great little country pub, with a warm and friendly welcoming from the owners. Can't recommend enough.

Excellent in all respects. Have eaten numerous times since reopening both evenings and Sunday lunches. Always made to feel exceptionally welcome. Service cannot be faulted - always polite and keeping an eye on guests but not intrusive. The food is truly home cooked fare prepared and presented to a high standard offering value for money. The pub is presented to a high standard and is always spotless. We always look forward to our next visit.

Nice friendly pub in a lovely location. Drinks were good prices but Sunday roast was just OK. Served on cold plates and everything could have been hotter. Food was tasty but quality was more like popping to a friends house for a roast, and not going out for a family pub roast costing £15.00 a plate! Would not eat there again, but lovely friendly pub for an evening drink with the locals.

This is somewhere we have gone many times each year. We hold our big Christmas Party here. Unfortunately we will not visit again and need a new xmas party venue. I hope the new owners take on the criticism and put things right, or i can see this cozy community pub closing. Positives : We booked which was easy The pub is still warm and cozy It appears clean. Negatives We arrived and found that it appeared busy as it used to be, with carpark full. We took this as a positive sign. We ordered our Sunday lunches Of course the prices had increased, which we knew and expected. Its no longer a huge value for money, its more inline with other similar venue's. Unfortunately the lad that took our order, was very much to the point. No small talk, no how are you, no recommendations. Just are you ready to order. Unfortunately the waitresses that used to work there are no longer there. Tey would find time to have a laugh and joke, recommend things on menu and they always guessed what my son would have for dessert. Such a shame they have lost that personnel touch The food was okay, some parts a bit cold and a lack of variety with the veg. The dessert menu was presented in a similar manner to the main couse, just no friendliness or emotion. Missing is the popular crumble, apple, pear, rhubarb etc 4 options - one being ice cream and two very similar. Prices of dessert have gone up by £1 each, thats reasonable. The size has gone down by about 30% thats disappointing. Same gravy is offered for both pork and beef dinners, so they lost a nice touch there. Dessert spoons - we were given soup spoons for dessert. These little touches add up When it came to paying, it was the only time the guy behind the bar talked to us. He was too busy talking to his friend for the whole lunch time. He just told us the amount, took the cash and a quick thanks. At no time did anyone ask how is you meal Make any conversation Ask if everything is all right. One other tips If you'er having dogs in, which is understandable in a Country pub. Have an area for owners and pets and offer other customers pet area or non pet area. Service with a smile wins every-time!! This previously amazing community pub has lost its way since Perry left. i think the owners should have done more to keep him as standards and levels of friendliness have dropped significantly. I fear that it will only be local farmers using this pub soon and takings will drop and eventually it could be lost. It was because of the friendly Atmosphere that we regularly travelled over 40 miles to meet up at this pub. Several times a month. Food ok Prices Normal I do hope the new owners take this on board but we will not be returning to see it.

Went to the Shoemakers on Sunday for a pint and ended up having Sunday Lunch. Great welcome from the landlord and a few locals that were at the bar. Food was good and plentiful and I was surprised to discover that this was the first day that it was available.

Passing through on a biking challenge over the weekend we found this cosy authentic welsh pub. The staff were incredibly welcoming, the beer selection was perfect and they couldn’t do more for us! Would definitely return if in the area again!

Whilst I usually promote Deli-Licious as a good place to go if you have a Gluten Free (GF) diet, I was recently disappointed by their GF afternoon tea. I was pleased to hear they offered a GF afternoon tea but was left feeling let down by the poor selection and presentation. The normal afternoon tea was presented on either a picnic bench or a three tiered serving stand, mine was just put on a plate with no effort to make it look like everyone else’s in the group, making me feel like an outcast. At a cost of £16.95, it certainly wasn’t value for money.

Found this cafe on line, glad we did, the guys were so welcoming, even the dog was welcomed in. We both had the big cooked breakfast, wow, it’s not very often I actually enjoy a cooked breakfast but this was amazing, really good quality ingredients cooked perfectly. We’d happily go back.

Stopped by here for a bite to eat and a coffee during a circular walk to the north of Llanidloes. What a lovely little find. We had jacket potatoes, chocolate cake and mince pies alongside a coffee. Delicious food and the cake is exceptional.
