Amazing, always come here from London. Sadaf was amazing

The quality of food, and the effective way it is served, and Turkish oriental interior makes this place stand out. Good family lunch, good service, clean. There is only 1 toilet, so there might be queues. Avoid sitting in the corner right hand side, close to the toilet, as people traffic can be annoying (but no smell). Also something wrong with the extractor fan, the restaurant was full of a little bit of smoke. The owner needs to check this. Also, no cellular network inside.

Another lovely evening at Shish with friends. There were eight of us. That was no problem for them. We all really enjoyed it. Delicious food 😋 and great service. Plenty of choices on the menu. Relaxing, happy atmosphere. Clean and nicely decorated. Easy, free parking in the street after 6pm. Highly recommended.

By far the best meal during our holiday in England in London and Hastings. Online reservation worked perfectly, warm welcome, very nice hosts and delicious food - what more could you want. The efes beer is also refreshing and delicious.

Favourite place to go for the best Turkish grill in town ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommended. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Me and my 8 friends came to Shish for a birthday meal, and we had probably the best eating experience I’ve ever had in Hastings, the service was amazing followed by even better food, we had the platter for 4 x2 and it was plenty, we are all very happy and full and will definitely be coming back, I can recomend Shish to anyone! IKBAL and the rest of the crew were amazing

Sea bass was lovely, the chef mahmut is very good and very friendly would recommend to anyone living or visiting Hastings to dine at this restaurant.

I came here for lunch with my Mum & Sister. Although they'd been here before, this was my first time & certainly won't be my last! The service was attentive, but allowed us time to enjoy our meal. The food was amazing, I tend to eat more Greek, Italian, Spanish cuisine so was not sure what to expect. The menu was varied & extensive to the point I had trouble deciding. The free bread & cheesy aubergine? dip was delicious. The portions were huge & cooked to order, and with the sun shining through the window, I imagined I was on holiday! The piece de resistance were the roses the 3 of us were given....such a friendly, welcoming place, we'll definitely be back! The only sad point was that this beautiful place wasn't busier, they deserve more business & then I think the atmosphere would really pop. Thank you for a lovely afternoon, we'll be back.

Excelent authentic Turkish food restaurant. My wife and I had a lovely meal here on Valentine's Day. Good service with a large choice of food on the menu. We realy enjoyed our meals and we certainly will be going again.

Some really tasty food. Both has chicken shish, but the wife had the yoghurt version. Great succulent chicken and most importantly full and happy bellies. Highly recommended

We had a great dinner at Shish and really special treatment. The mix platter is great, really tasty and staff treated us like King. They're also very reasonably priced. I can not recommend Shish enough. I wish I lived in Hastings.

Welcoming, great atmosphere and fantastic food.

Another day another random seaside town. This time Hastings and we dared to try a Turkish grill and meze joint. And all said and done a pleasant experience it was too. All bar our server who was utterly disinterested and preferred to obsess over his mobile phone. There were only 3 groups dining on a Wednesday lunchtime. This guy had no time for any of us. A shame really because the man behind the grill knew what he was doing!! We started with a meze on the house. A mash up of aubergine garlic and melted cheese. On paper not the most enticing of starters but IRL a yummy appetiser to tantalise the tastebuds. Little one had nuggets and chips. I’m pretty sure the nuggets were made au naturel and by God they were delicious (yes Daddy nicked one whilst the munchkin was looking elsewhere). The chicken and lamb shish were tender and spicy and supplanted you back to Istanbul. Beautifully flavoured rice. Excellent hummus. All in all authentic tastes and reasonable price point. The bathroom was shabby as was the decor but the food shone through. Would I come here again? Yes Should you try this restaurant? Hell yeah.

Amazingly tasty. My husband and I loved it. The chicken beyti was lovely. Vine leaves were yum. The free aubergine and cheese dip it's amazing.

Absolutely loved the lamb chops! They were cooked to perfection. The platter was a great addition, too, offering a variety of tasty options. And the complimentary aubergine with cheese was a delightful surprise - so creamy and delicious. Highly recommend this place!

We held my mother in laws 90th birthday here, There was 22 of us. The service was excellent as was the food. Mustafa the owner was a great host . We will definitely come back .

Ordered the platter for 2. The meat was very tasty, no issues there. Nicely cooked and had some good flavour. It stated the dish came with rice, which it did, but there was hardly any rice at all. May well have not bothered. I’ve tried this dish in 3-4 other Turkish restaurants and this was probably the smallest amount of rice I’d ever been given in an order. Shame really as the rest was good, their bread is amazing. Wouldn’t have said it was good value at nearly 40 quid.

Amazing food, quiet atmosphere and good looking place. We only managed to take a picture of the complimentary starter. The food was devoured too fast. Food amount for the money spent as well.

Had a takeaway from here a few times, quality of the kebabs is excellent, meat tasty, generous portions, would prefer some pickles of some kind to go with the kebabs but apart from that, yummy!

Small restaurant with excellent, attentive service, freshly prepared, tasty food that is well presented. Of particular note is that their platter for 4 is inclusive of hot and cold mezze and dessert which is not something we have seen anywhere else in the UK to date.

My fellow dinner companions and I wandered into this place, unknown. Hungry. And maybe a little skeptical. But it was warm, charming and completely welcoming. From the complimentary garlic oil cheese dip, to the divine vegetable moussaka and shish kebabs, to the sweet and attentive food and wait staff. A truly memorable meal and dining experience. Highly recommended!

We ordered platter for 2. It was quite enough for 2 people but they may add more salads. Before the dinner they served us a melted cheese called Kuymak without charge. Also they served turkish tea after the dinner without charge. Overall, it is a nice place to eat.

Even though we arrived late, service and presentation were not spared. The food was delicious 😊

We had a new starter taking our order who was amazing. She took time, corrected any miscommunication and was very attentive. The food was very nice, we ordered the mixed platter for 2. The stand out was how the food was presented which was a nice surprise! We will come back to try some of the other dishes.

We had such a delicious vegetarian lunch here. The crushed salad was a total surprise - heavenly. Gorgeous borek - and as for the baklava! Very friendly staff and we were given a very tasty starter of griddled aubergine and cheese. Must be some of the best food in Hastings.

Amazing food with a good atmosphere

We chose here after reading reviews, we weren’t disappointed. We were greeted, seated and served in a timely manner. Shortly after drinks came a aubergine in garlic oil and butter with a cheese topping and bread arrived as an appetiser on the house….. absolutely lovely, although I’m sure who ever you talk to the next day will disagree…😀 We had the chicken shish and a mixed shish…. The sides of rice and bulgar wheat were great but the stars were the meat…both were soo tender and tasty, the lamb I haven’t had a shish this good in a long time and I live near London. Sooo worth a visit. The food is delivered in a timely manor so if you was a relax you would never to let them know. To the manger, I would have liked the roasted pepper/tomatoes hot. To the servers, please don’t assume the over payment is your tip, for us please offer the charge back.

Tbh - We’re not huge fans of Turkish 🇹🇷 food, and after this evening meal, we have been completely converted. The food at Shish this evening was out standing, one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time, staff was amazing, super friendly, perfect start to finish and a good price for the food and service provided 🙏 Highly recommended!

Disgusting Management, Worst experience, shocking treatment by staff and management. Food cold, cold shish, cold rice. Brought this to staff attention. They told the management . He couldn't even come over with an apology or replacement instead offered me baklava at the end . I left my meal upset at my treatment and unprofessional behaviour. Food poisoning the next day. NEVER should this man be in a management position. He shared this with staff who then lined up and stared at us . The worst experience ever.. please avoid at all costs. They charged me for a meal I didn't eat. Appalling response from a manager/owner no integrity at all. Absolute rubbish, I had no meal as explained in my review perhaps read it properly! I NEVER asked for anyone to take the meal off the bill, I expected you to do the right thing. Dishonest and shocking. It took you 2 months for a response thats how much you care about customer service.. To make accusations of cheating and lying is disgusting and basically what your response is.

Please don’t throw away your money at this place 🤮I have been so sick after eating chicken Shish undercooked meat. I would never recommend this restaurant. You should be shut down . Retrain your chef on food hygiene.

This was my first visit to Shish, we came as a family of five and I was very pleased with the food and service. The restaurant, on a Saturday night had a busy, buzzy atmosphere and I will certainly return for another visit 😀

Very disappointed. We are Turkish food lovers but it’s the first time that we were very disappointed. It wasn’t tasty at all, very oily and when we explained our concerns to the waitress, the manager didn’t come to apologies. Beautiful outside and inside but not on the plate… 🤷‍♀️

I've only been here at quiet times, but have always enjoyed it and got decent friendly service. The grills are great, very well cooked, still juicy and spiced very nicely, and the bread is fresh and tasty. The adana was excellent. I don't go for the starters here generally, save myself for the mains. We got a sizzling hot aubergine and melted cheese starter on the house, and some baqlawa. The Turkish tea here is nice and strong too!

Terrible! Turkish food, visiting here with a group of friends we were not impressed with the food. The meat was not cooked half cooked lamb is not acceptable . Having observed the chef he uses gloves handling raw meat and cooked. We wont be returning.

Finding myself peckish at lunch time, I was attracted by the charming Turkish lighting from outside. I was enticed in by the menu at the door. I was received by a smiling host who showed me to my table. Cut to the chase! Oh my gosh! I began with the best humous I have tasted served with an amazing toasted flat bread oozing with unctiousness. La piece de la resistance... The very best lamb dish, Ali Nazik, UTTER FOOD HEAVEN. Even more, it was so beautifully and carefully presented on the plate. This culinary delight was accompanied by a well rounded Turkish red wine. Thank you Shish.
