Best burger I've eaten in a long time

Very nice burgers. Very juicy. Loved the Cajun chips and the coleslaw.

Don't come to this place if you regularly order burgers elsewhere! It will ruin your burger experience for every other place. The burgers and fries are incredible, I literally haven't had a better burger anywhere else, and now I have to order other things when I go to other places as I know they're burgers wont be as good. Pricing is reasonable when you consider the quality. If I had to pick on one thing it's that the music can be up a tad loud sometimes, making conversations challenging, but I think that's the general vibe they're aiming for so that's more a me issue.

We've really enjoyed the food in the restaurants however I would recommend not getting it delivered I order through uber eat it took over an hour to come and it was stone cold, chips were soggy, burgers were tasty but not great when it's cold I'd recommend collecting or eat in plus it was expensive

Fantastic place. Music is good. Staff are friendly and efficient. The food is out of this world. Reasonably priced and great quality. Highly recommended

The vegan burger was amazing!! Should give it a try. The chips with sweet drop peppers were surprisingly tasty and it’s rarely to be found somewhere else. Besides, enjoy the atmosphere and the cozy vibe it creates.

Rather disappointing visit here. Others are claiming the best burgers in the UK. I'm eating a fairly average gastropub burger and very much on the small side. I can only assume we came when the main chef was off or other reviewers were comparing it to MacDonalds. Had the bacon burger and standard fries. The kids had the same and didn't even finish a pot of rather overcooked fries between them. Its rare to see fries unhoovered. Conclusion from the kids was a damming mid". Interior was Hipster vibe and pleasant but delivering well below the hype on this occasion. Turret burgers we had earlier in the week spanked these offerings by a mile. Shame we really wanted to love coming here based on the reviews and walked a fair way to get here from the front and ended up disappointed.

Best burgers I've had in England. If they'd been double burgers or twice the size they'd have been the best burgers in the world at that moment. Chili Cheese Fries weren't quite as crispy as I'd normally like but were so good we just wolfed them down.

I went to London Westfield after watching a movie, then came for the lunch menu, which included a burger and fries for £7.50. I asked for a veggie burger, being vegetarian, as it was on the menu. I was then told by another waiter/manager that it a veggie burger, was not normally included in the lunch deal, but meat and chicken were, even though it was included on the lunch deal menu! They let me have it ‘this time’ for the deal, but what I received was substandard and not much better than a Macdonalds hamburger/ cheeseburger, not even a hint of salad. Either they need to improve this standard for vegetarians/ vegans or I was purposefully down-graded. Not impressed

Visited in July 2023. We came to Hastings for a long weekend. We were looking for top rated restaurants nearby to our accommodation and this came up, we were not disappointed. Slightly off the beaten track, but definitely a hit with locals and tourists alike. What a great burger experience! We went for the Chilli Nelson and Big Cheese burgers with the beef fries. It was huge. It was fresh. The bun was soft. The heat kick was there. So delicious. The place had a hipster/youthful vibe, yet very professional. We were warmly greeted and sat. The music and decor was fresh and had a great buzz. Definitely recommended for any burger enthusiasts.

I love this place! What I think some might call 'shabby chic' others, basic and functional. But the burgers we had were excellent, as was the friendly service. Oh, and the toilets were clean too. Prices were very good value. What more do you want?

What a gem!!! I am very happy to find this amazing with absolutely delicious burgers! Local meat, homemade fries (I love rosemary ), homemade dips and absolutely lush brioche buns. They serve draft Camden lager beer as well. We Will be back soon, Thank you !

Delicious festive Sleigh Queen vegan burger … so much flavour I could taste it for hours after!! Super yum 😋 🍔 service was great too.. only lost one star because they you charge extra money if you want a gluten free bun and I hadn’t realised this till I got the bill. 💸

Me and my partner were walk ins about an hour before it closed on Saturday so was expecting to be turned away..but we were lucky and managed to get a seat,it was the first time we visited here and we loved the atmosphere straight away, service was lovely,staff were very friendly and helpful and went above and beyond (researched a cider they were selling to see if it was vegan friendly) food was amazing,I had the bxcon clan forever and my partner had the let's sticky together and we shared the loaded vegan fries. We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend it to others :)

Friendly staff. They even accommodate gluten-free if required. Food is lovely as a treat. Have occasionally had music that is a bit heavy and fast-paced for eating a meal, but overall enjoyable.

You need to forget all the preconceptions of burgers, there is only Half Man! Half Burger! I go regularly and every time it's amazing. The special burgers are always brilliant and the rosemary fries are the business...

Good burger, sticky fries were delicious but should have got 1 portion between us as 1 each was too much.

Great food and service and food was given almost immediately not to include the lovely waiters/ waitresses that served us. Overall would recommend and give 4.8 top notch.

Great vegan and non vegan options. The new special loaded fries were amazing as well as the smoke stack burger. The staff were great and the atmosphere was amazing. The music was a bit too loud but who cares, the food was great!

This is easily one of the best burger joints you'll get. The plant based/vegan options are brilliant, and when you ask for meat free they will ask whether you want vegetarian or vegan - which is unusual and very appreciated! Lots of vegan options these days but I tend to be looked at funny when I ask for dairy cheese on my burger so nice for vegetarians to be catered for too. There's enough newness that you don't get bored - specials and you can make changes for your preferences. The rosemary fries are 🔥🔥🔥. The staff are friendly and engaging and the manager/owner is often working the tables and you can see he is enthusiastic about what he does.

Gonzo Burger was good, a bit of sauce on the side would have been a welcome addition. Rosemary on the fries was nice. Draught beer would have made elevated the score to 5.

I've heard fantastic things about this place and couldn't wait to try it. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the restaurant, so ordered the Gonzo and cheesey chips for delivery. The cheesey chips were very tasty, with lots of cheese and rosemary and they were well seasoned. Although, I would have preferred if the cheese was melted, as lots of it had not melted completely and was still hard. The Gonzo burger had a lovely flavour and the toppings accompanied the burger well. I particularly enjoyed the mustard mayo. Unfortunately I asked for my burger to be cooked medium pink and instead it was cooked well done. Additionally, the buns had been squished, so aesthetically the burger didn't look great and it would have been nice if the buns were toasted, so they maintained their lovely texture rather than turning into a squidgy soggy bun. I loved the flavour profile of the burger and the chips were delicious, but there was just a few too many errors that led to me overall being a little disappointed.

Proper delicious burgers...much better than the new Patty Guy in town. Great service,good value only downside is the fact that there is no sun in the evenings. But this will not stop me going back. Well done.

Would have been all 5 stars, but when I visited with my son, it was early and we were the only guests! Tucked away, rather quirky, staff were really friendly and jokey. Food was good, great burgers and the cheesy chips with rosemary, were very tasty. Try the beer with champagne hops, my son really rated it. Give it a try, great place.

Always check your collection before you leave as sometimes they forget an item when they are very busy. Favourite burger shop by far...Best in town by a long way. ❤️

Just discovered Halfman Half Burger at The Yard Hastings. Best burger ever! Had the Smoky Stack (think that's the name), medium cooked, so delicious! Staff great, service fab. Will definitely be back here.

After many years of colleagues telling me about this place I was finally blessed with the opportunity to go. The food is really nice and the staff are incredibly friendly and funny! I went as part of a stag do and the staff were really good sports with it all.

It's a nice burger restaurant with some good quality food and good prices. I'd definitely above average, but I'll admit, I wasn't blown away. Either way, the service was nice and there was no issues getting a table, and the food was ready quickly to match, which was always nice. Only critique was perhaps the music was a little loud, making conversion a little tough but maybe I was sat under a speaker and didn't notice.

I used to one in Eastbourne. I missed them so much. 💔

OUTSTANDING! Couldn't recommend more. All the food is amazing, well priced, kid/family friendly, and amazing atmosphere (great music playlists). My kids 11 and 13 ask for it by name... My 13 even asking for birthday dinner out. It's amazing. I drive 40min for this place.

Soggy burger buns, soggy and limp chips. Seriously overpriced hipster food that wont let you pay with MONEY, until forced to accept cash but you wont get any change. Wont be seeing me or my family again!!!

Great place, staff and locations. Think the pricing is a little on the steep side. I know we would go there a little more often if it was just a bit cheaper or had a loyalty programme.

Fantastic burger restaurant. Eat in or takeaway. Delivery service also available. Wide choice of burgers. Including vegan and vegetarian options. I highly recommend the chilli topped dirty fries. They are amazing.

Best Burger I’ve eaten locally. If you don’t like the food there’s something wrong with your tastebuds! I’ve been twice recently, each time the food has been spot on! It’s my mission to try every burger on their menu at this point! The staff are fantastic, friendly and funny. The attention to detail with theming is excellent. It’s a great experience! I’d rather go here than any other fast food locations in town any day!

Always a great experience at a HMHB! First time visiting this branch and really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly, the food was top notch and the pricing is fair for the quality. You always get plenty of their rosemary style fries. There were a couple of things that could be improved however. Some of the fries were overcooked and the advertised glass bottle for the diet coke ended up being a can (see photos). Regardless, will definitely return.

This was one of best vegan burger and loaded fries I have ever eaten! The whole team seem to be very friendly and easy going. Service is attentive and really quick - drinks were out in 2min. Food took a little longer but damn it worth the wait! If I was local, I would be here at least once a week!

Great food! Burgers superfresh, tasting of meat instead of being overpoweringly spiced. Good bun and mouthwatering cheesy chips. What I almost liked better was the 'welcoming to all' vibe, not just hipster territory.

Set in a quirky industrial estate, this restaurant serves artisan burgers and fries. Think Byron but with more hipster attitude. Food is really good. Appreciated that there was a meal deal for kids, too. Parking on site seems reserved for the industrial units themselves, but in theory you could park at Morrison's and walk across.

A chance discovery. We were in the mood for a burger and were in the area. Hard to find as it is in a back yard. The burgers are excellent: with meat, vegetarian and vegan. There is also a small selection of “Sides”. The in-house pale ale is very good, as is the service: friendly, courteous and fast. Oh, and there was great music playing.

Arguably the best burger I have ever had. I had the chili nelson, the meat was so juicy and had a fantastic flavour. Couldn't recommend this enough

We love going to HM!HB! We really appreciate the range of choice including vegetarian and vegan options and the fries are fantastic too. Our only small criticisms are a lack of plant based patty on the children's menu and the fact that for three visits in a row have we asked for no cheese in our son's burger only for it to arrive with cheese. The staff are friendly and always great about it though. Love the atmosphere too.
