Tried this chip shop three weeks in a row now and every time we’ve had lovely chips and fresh fish, great little find!

Delivery took around 15 minutes longer than expected, however the food still arrived hot. Lovely piece of cod, coated in crispy batter and a generous portion of well cooked, proper chips. Really tasty and highly recommended.

Great chippy. The owners are very pleasant. The batter is tasty and crisp, the chips are the right balance between soft and slightly crispy and are served in large portions. The food it always hot. Massive gherkins. Cans of drink are cheaper than in the local co-op. This is our local chippy and we never go anywhere else.

Unfortunately, this time my delivery was not up to the usual high standard I have come to expect. My order arrived a little more than luke warm. It was still good quality food and generous portions. Willing to try once more.

Time kept getting pushed to longer and longer so actual time we waited just for fish and chips was over an hour, also wasn’t very warm when it arrived. I have used this fish bar many times before, and never had a problem

Overall good. Daughter said it was the best chicken burger but her cheesy chips were burned/overcooked . Youngest enjoyed hers and so did my partner. Could be a bit more generous with the salt and vinegar but was an ok meal.

Tried for the first time. I tend to be wary with trying a new chippy. Over the years, I’ve had too many soggy and unappealing chips. The chap serving was polite, pleasant and efficient. However, these chips are great. Well complemented with a tasty battered sausage. The mushy peas were also good. The curry sauce was tasty and rather different from the usual. I thought I could taste some coconut. A good experience and willl be back.

The fish was lovely with nice crispy batter, not soggy. Chips were cooked through properly and were very tasty. Arrived on time and still hot. Definitely recommend

Best battered haddock and chips I've ever had. Really tasty, crispy and fresh - just delicious! Service was superb as well. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again when next in the area!

Chips are amazing at this place

First time in as just staying for pride and needed something to eat. Lady serving was very friendly, food is ok chips were a little underdone but certainly weren't horrible. Served very quickly, if you need a quick Pitstop it's worth using.

Pretty good...even does gravy! Not cheap but probably worth the money, service does vary depending who is serving, the husband seems more friendly and natural when serving. Yes, I'm a northerner! Yes my family owned a chippy! I will go back as I have been a few times.

Chips was lush. The batter sausage was gorgeous. The normal sausage was nice same about the P fritter in need to be a bit more crunchier.

Not impressed. I ordered the fish cake and chips and caught a bug the next day, violently vomiting is not what I wanted to wake up to. Just be careful if you order from this place.

Unfortunately there was no coke which I've paid for and the delivery driver had no interest in getting me one even though I showed him my order.

It's a strange world as I find myself reviewing more fish and chips shops than anything else. That said this is the first time I've given one a positive review and this is by far my favourite in town. We only started ordering from them recently and now collect more often than we order through Uber (faster/cheaper) but damn is it good. The savloys ain't anything special but the battered sausage, fish and chips were perfect. Will be visiting them again soon.

Very greasy. To me that says the oil wasnt hot enough. I worked in food many years. Bit pricey for the greasiness. Next time I'll go collect it, if'll be cheaper than going thru just eat

Late not the Restaurants fault , the delivery guy stopped with my order and waited at McDonald's and picked up orders from there before delivering my order I know he done a cross app pickup for uBER while delivering mine from Just Eat , . This chippy is great

Battered sausages where alright chips not much salt and vinegar soggy and greasy, kabab meat was over cooked and was cooked on a grill so it was crunchy and half the flavour was gone, burger was nice but my dad said that he would send it back

I've never used Shirley fish bar before....Every fish and chip shop I order from I order hot wing....(they are never very hot..…) Shirley fish bar hot wings however had a nice kick to them...And tasted lovely...All the food was lovely not greasy and very tasty... definitely my new fish and chip go to!!!!!..Thanks guys very happy with my order.

However, the service and atmosphere left something to be desired, garnering a more modest 3-star rating. While the establishment can get busy, it's understandable that delays may occur. Nonetheless, we were disappointed when we paid ahead of four other customers, who ordered the same meal after us, but received their food before we did. It felt as though the order processing lacked fairness, as those who ordered later should not have received their meals before us, given our prior arrangement. Despite these hiccups, the staff was generally courteous, and the atmosphere had a pleasant, casual vibe. Nevertheless, improvements in service efficiency and attentiveness would elevate the overall dining experience at Shirley Fish Bar.

Probably one of the best fish and chips I've had. The curry sauce is very nice the portion size is spot on and the quality of food was excellent. Will definitely be my go to fish and chip shop in Southampton.

We ordered fish and chip meal to millbrook and the food was still red hot which is fantastic my children lived the nuggets and actually cleared their plates my fish was incredible such a good portion for a very reasonable price, we will be back again just for the quality of food and the service highly recommended

Food laced with allergens specific to me only: human saliva and or equivalent produced in a chemistry lab, disgusting, nauseating, mouth full of someone else’s saliva. Poses a safety issue. Come and collect your food.

The chips were a bit sickly and greasy this time around and the burger was nice but tasted like it was fried like a burger in batter sausage was nice and fish cake was delicious

We have been looking for a good chip shop for some time and finally found it!!! The food was absolutely spot on this will now be are regular chip from now on without a doubt! 10 out of 10, but only one question they do kebab meet but not kebabs???

Top place and would highly recommend. Fish was cooked beautifully, and the chips were perfect. Purchased a portion for my Nan, and it was nice to see they cater for seniors and offer a 'small' serving. They have a sign up that tells you what potatoes they are using and where they're from which is a great touch. Friendly staff and price was very reasonable. 10/10.

Not a bad meal but not brilliant either. Lovely customer service but the chips weren't the usual chippy standard. Mushy peas were decent, 1 of the 2 cod fish's was superb and average prices. Being able to eat in and the place was clean which is a bonus also. Parking not a problem also.

Food was stone cold. Curry sauce was lumpy. Didn’t even try the meat.
