Had the chump of lamb with greek salad. The lamb was perfectly chargrilled and the tzatseki was the best I've ever had including in Greece!

We had a great meal and the four of us had two dogs each, all well behaved. We say outside, service was great, the food was really good. The only downside was once the waitress went off shift we didn't have outside service and paying the bill was a chore.

You really got to know this place is here as you could easily go past it. It's a lovely cute pub. With lots of outdoor seating, we came on a nice day so we sat outside. Food was delicious and well presented. A little on the pricey side, but for a special occasion it is lovely. Staff were friendly and were efficient.

Nice meal. Friendly staff. Quiet location. Good for a weekday meal, when you don't fancy cooking from scratch at home. Nice Wagu burger, pity chips were not homemade. Nice to see that the Ship sells Wild Wave cider, made a pleasant change from Aspalls acidic cider, available at several other locations. Would recommend, when you can't be bothered to cook at home!

A great country pub in a village setting with views over the river Stour. Plenty of outdoor seating in a sunny position. Food is good and fairly priced with a great loyalty scheme. Service is usually great but occasionally poor. Could do with updating the menu but well worth a visit for lunch or dinner.

Poor value, it was £11 for a prawn sandwich. It seemed expensive when I ordered but I guess I was hoping to be surprised. I was, but not in a good way. 2 slices of 1” thick granary bread with a very meagre amount of prawns inside. Some lettuce leaves were left on the side of the plate to make it look less sparse. It didn't work, it just have me the additional task of inserting the leaves into the sandwich by hand. Wish I'd taken a photo of it. It was very very disappointing. Guy say next tonne was having the steak. I asked him how it was and he shrugged and said ok, but expensive. Clearly they are trading on the location and it is a real shame they can't provide better value.

Beautiful little village pub. Unfortunately the tables were packed so tightly we had to move chairs and tables to be able to sit down. The staff were lovely and service was quick. My starter was good but my main course was a huge disappointment, slow cooked lamb, mash and veg. I heard good things about The Ship at Levington and I was looking forward to going. We went on a Sunday afternoon and had booked. It was very, VERY busy. The table was not ready when we arrived as previous customers hadn't finished. Bought drinks and waited about 15 mins outside as it was packed. Staff were friendly, helpful and apologetic about the wait but service was very slow, took an age for our order to be taken and again a long wait before food arrived, probably due to how popular this restaurant is (and was on the day) had reservations about ordering dessert, coffee came quickly, food a lot longer, so it seems bar service was efficient whereas kitchen less so. Food was good, service was good from the team it was only the waiting that let my score down. I appreciate it that on a Sunday(or any other time TBH) you don't want to be rushed in and back out again, but service was too slow and that was the lasting impression.

Went for lunch on a sunny day and had one of the best pub lunches at the Ship Inn Levington. The lamb dish was a daily special, and was so tender, it paired extremely well with the potato cake, mash and veggies. The wagyu beef burger was just what you would want in a burger. Cooked to perfection served with delicious chips. We also went for the Duck Gyoza and Homemade Onion rings, which again were exquisite. Alongside the food, the location was spectacular, with a lovely nature walk just opposite the restaurant. Would recommend going on a sunny day for some amazing food and a great nature walk.

Lovely village pub. Concentrating on food covers rather than drinkers and all tables can be booked for food. However, drinkers welcome if there is room to spare. We had very good service from the staff the evening we were there. The sea bass was perfectly done. My only complaint would be relatively little samphire. My companion enjoyed the lamb. I had a delicious French sauvignon blanc with lovely pear and peach nose. My companion had a good pint of Adnams which is the standard brew. Puddings also great, you may want to consider the small portions by the time you get to the dessert course! Approximately £30 a head including tip as we were very happy with the service.

Small country pub in out of the way location. Pleasant atmosphere, despite a table of rather braying people who were definitely ‘trying to hard’. Decoratively the pub, Happily, is not too ‘done up’. I think there are 2 spaces. One nice front bar (where I sat). Space behind bar looks more restaurant-y. Food. I had crab salad which, while small, was tasty. Beer. Served a nice pint of Adnam’s.

My parents used to call in here when I was a child so lovely to take a trip down memory lane :) Of course, it has changed slightly from my memory. Light, airy, and very nicely set out. A welcoming and comfortable setting. We were given a choice of tables inside and there is ample seating outside also. A fantastic menu with plenty to choose from and to suit all tastes. A very friendly and accommodating lady took our order. With so many tasty options to choose from, the 2 of us decided on the 'sharing' approach so for starter, had the whitebait (served with a chunk of granary bread, butter and tartar sauce) and nachos (sour cream dip and halapenos on the side) between us. Both were excellent, particularly the nachos... clearly not your usual tortillas out of a packet, the tomato salsa was delicious, plenty of cheese and with a salad, this would make a beautiful lunch on its own. We then had one main (kindly given 2 plates to divide it) the tapas style board had salami, Prosciutto, warm pitta, olives, onions, baby gherkins and a beautiful pesto style dip. Accompanied with sides of chips AND sweet potato fries, this was far more than we needed and we actually took all of the pitta home to warm later for supper. With a half of bitter shandy and a lime & soda, the total bill was around £45. Excellent value and a very memorable lunch. Thankyou. Will definitely not be leaving it 40 years before returning again!! :)

The food is fab. Great pub food at it's best. The setting is also extremely pleasant. Unfortunately the service did not match up. We were a large party, however the waiting staff just couldn't get the orders correct and we constantly had to flag them down to get their attention. We waited an age for each course order to be taken and then an age to actually receive our orders, some of which were incorrect i.e., ice cream with my summer pudding when I asked for cream! Then were told our table was required for another party. On previous occasions when visiting here for lunch waiting on staff have been great ...what's happened here?
