Piss taking cowboys - it stinks in the restaurant food was piss poor. JOker behind till. I ordered takeaway got slice of onion bit of salad and that's it. meat was old and stunk as well as the restaurant did. Avoid at all costs

We ate at Shimla this evening for the first time and wow, the service to start was excellent, such a friendly bunch of guys and nothing was too much! I have recently had to go gluten free and they catered so well for this too! The food was served quickly and was so yummy! We had the sizzler shared for 2 to start, a king prawn bhuna, garlic nahari, rice and chips! Also the lime pickle with the popadoms and pickle tray was epic! We will definitely be back!

Dined this evening and left absolutely stuffed. Travelled from Pontefract and so worth it, would 100% recommend and come back again.

Horrendous Indian completely flavourless and sauces so watery with no taste at all. Really expensive too! Never again

honestly never had such a bad experience with a takeaway. ordered from the takeaway, waited ONE WHOLE HOUR for my food to arrive, was 5 minutes before the expected delivery time and they cancelled my order. i rung them to discuss the issue in which they stated that they couldn't deliver to my address in the town centre as it was "too much hassle" and would take 45 minutes. i wouldn't have minded the order being cancelled at the start of the ordering process however the takeaway accepted my order clearly seeing my address. man on the phone didn't seem to care and made it out like it was my fault that i live where i live, can i just point out that for the 6 months i have lived there not one single delivery driver has had any issues delivering to my address. will not be paying a visit in person which they suggested

Hands down the worst Indian I’ve ever had. No taste or flavour whatsoever. It’s actually shocking. So shocking that I’ve never left a bad review before but had to, didn’t received my keema man, and got two prawns in a try for a fiver. lol . 😞

I haven’t tried Shimla for years. Being used to Elachi and a fan of their rich and flavoursome sauces, I’m always reluctant to try others. Sadly on this occasion my scepticism was justified. The dishes we ordered lacked complexity, depth, seasoning. The chicken was dry and under flavoured. The naga lamb was just a basic gravy with added Mr Naga pickle. The garlic naans were average at best and everything just seemed really average.

Service is good delivery was fast but the food is utter garbage bread under cooked and both Currys just garbage no flavor my advice go 10 seconds across the road to elarchi

Nice staff, nice enough restaurant. Chips and massive tasty onion bhaji high point of the meal. Prawn balti and chicken bhuna very mediocre sadly after hearing good things. Chicken was tough as were the prawns, the latter tasted a bit fishy as if cooked straight from frozen. Shame. Carpets on the stairs could do with changing out as a bit mucky. Rest of the restaurant looked pleasant. Parking bit limited on a roundabout. Would have picked a sizzler if I hadn't gone for the curries as they smelled nice.

Had a amazing meal here but the service let it down by passing the food down over 3 people when he could of just walked around the table and placed it in front off the guest

Staff so friendly brilliant bunch. Food is fantastic plus bring your own alcohol means lower price bills at the end of the evening. All round good restaurant

Boring Bland tasteless food, lacking of flavour & spices. If you are a “Korma” eater then you will be at the right place. Most of the meat was dry, tasted dry & reheated. We gave a honest feedback but they didn’t showed any interest. bad example of Indian food. The only plus was bring you own drinks. Don’t waste your hard earned money there.

We are a curry club and visit lots of different Indian restaurants,, we 7 of us decided to pay this one a visit, the food was nothing special and they missed off one of our dishes, they gave us an extra rice which we didn’t order but they charged us for it, the pickle tray is very very poor, and there service was shocking, we asked for a jug of water halve a dozen times and still didn’t get any, we didn’t get any napkins, it was just very very poor and won’t be revisiting, like I said we have tried 100’s and this is just not in the top 80

Had our first delivery from Shimla and couldn't fault it !! It was delivered on time , the food was delicious and plenty of it - I will definitely be using them again and would strongly recommend ☺️☺️

Can't lie after decorating all day we was looking forward to this take away, but didn't enjoy it one bit. Food was barely warm, didn't enjoy the sauces on the curries, Poppadoms really well done and naan had burnt bits all over it. I'm hoping it's cause there busy on a Saturday evening as was such ashame.

Hi new to the restaurant, didn't book got shown to the back of the restaurant fixed seating , which is very uncomfortable . Had to waiting to be served while other people got served tgat xame in after us . The food was ok and hot, but I needed some flavour. I wouldn't go back in a hurry. What a shame ......

ONE OF WORST OVER PRICED TAKEAWAYS I'VE EVER HAD!! Drove 5 miles here last night as was recommended by family. Meant to be 10% off for collection orders. I went in and ordered off their takeaway menu on the bar area. Asked if 10% off and the lying b****** said he had put the 10% discount on and yet it cost more than on the menu! Think it is patronising when they speak to you like you are that stupid you can't add up and just think by telling you there's a discount you would believe them. Soon as anywhere is dishonest I lose trust. I kept my mouth shut acted polite got my food and left. Get home to both starters king prawn chatt and chicken chatt tasteless with only enough salad for not even one. 2 curries, one a speciality both tasting like plain chicken tikka in a watery tomato sauce with no spice no flavour. Chips were small and naan was soggy. £34.70 after discount! Wouldn't mind paying for good food but this was a let down and meal wasn't worth half. I've lived in Bradford and Leeds for nearly 40 years. I know a good curry and when someone's playing a fast one. Untrustworthy penny pinching poor customer service appalling food. Hope this costs you customers because you don't deserve them.

Been to quite a few Indian restaurants in the past and I have to admit that I'm impressed with Shimla. Excellent service from all the friendly staff who are always smiling. Very good freshly cooked food here that doesn't hurt the pocket and I recommend you should try. There are vegetarian options for the kids kes of my other half. All in all a great night out and I'll definitely be going there again

I usually have taken aways but many people eat in ! Take your own drink 🍸 no alcohol licence

Our second takeaway from Shimla and this one was the best ever! Had 2 of the specialities with accompaniments and they did not disappoint!! Our new favourite Indian takeaway that deliver to our area which is hard to find! Thank you to all the staff and merry Christmas

Had a takeaway. The prices were a fair bit higher than other takeaways, so we expected to get something more special. Really watery Khorma, nann bread under cooked, chicken was really dry. The only thing ok was the rice, but nothing special. Ended up throwing it away. I've noticed feedback that reads the same as mine, so it looks like they aren't doing anything about it. Never again

One the tastiest restaurants in Doncaster.

This was my first visit here after enjoying many delicious takeouts. The food was amazing as always the onion Bhaji's are the best I have ever had. For main I had Chicken rogan josh again beautifully presented & tasted wonderful. Here you take your own alcohol as they don't have a drinks licence. I can highly recommend here & will definately be going back xx

The food was OK ..wasn't very keen on the chicken tikka masala was very strong didn't taste like it had any cream in it ..service wasn't amazing eaither but we still enjoyed our night x

Absolutely disgusting service! Ordered £70 worth wise food for my husbands birthday - it turned up 40 mins late with only half of order! 20 mins after my naan’s turned up and another 30 minutes after my starter did! All the feats was absolutely spoiled! Food was cold, started arrived over an hour after the main! And the top of the cake. - I was shouted at by the restaurant manager when i tried r chase my order saying that everyone can make a mistake ???? Shouts not an apology! I hope there are better places in this area! Absolutely disgusting

The pilau Rice was cold brown rice, the tikka masala sauce was very watery and tasteless. The chicken however was nice. The other meal again the sauce was watery and tasteless.

Recommended to try so ordered takeaway.unfortunately the rice was watery as if been sat in water. Both currys watery the tikka marsella especially lack of flavour. The Jalfrizi lack of flavour no heat apart from one whole chilli. Not for us.

Had a good night food was good and the service was was second to none. Price of the meal was fare and didn't have to wait ages between courses. We left the restaurant's friendly atmosphere with full a belly and a smile on our face. Thanks guys see you again soon.

Typical South Yorkshire curry house. Good service but the usual offerings adjusted for the local pallet. Disappointing when you have lived in Bradford and experienced the curries there.

Love ordering from this restaurant. I’ve had Nababee Nagh on a few occasions, but tonight I had noticed the smell and taste was different. I instantly recognised the carolina reaper in the mix. I understand that can be used to make it spicey, but it changed the taste of the dish.

First takeaway last night from here, firstly I spoken to a friendly helpful person on the telephone. He explained about the app I could use. Food came on time and was so happy to find an actual Indian takeaway that tastes how it should be. Thankyou, really happy would recommend to anyone!

Food lukewarm. 2 hours delivery. Chip bag soggy so split and chips all over carrier. Rang to complain and they were rude.

Excellent food. We ordered different dishes and loved that they clearly weren't made from the same base with minor changes (as can happen with other takeaways). Tasty, flavourful and good portions. Best Indian I've eaten outside India!

Arrived early doors for a Birthday meal for my wife. Very attentive staff, great surroundings and quick service. That menu is toooooo good. We will have keep coming back to sample many others we like. Had to 'waddle' home nicely full, as always. Thank you Shimla team.

Food fantastic but service slow. Booked a table for six, arrived on time and table was not ready, we were all starving. After 10-15 mins table was ready. Menus were slow being offered, they could have offered them whilst we had to wait for table. Order taken and starters arrived with a mix up. The food was excellent, well prepared and tasty. Mains came and 3 of us were without our Pilu rice, no staff to be seen, eventually the phone rang and I called out to the staff member and eventually our rice arrived, by this time our dinning companions were halfway through their meal. It is a real shame the service was so painfully slow and not up too a decent standard as the food was excellent.

Unbelievably awful. Has to be the worst ever curry. Was expecting a lovely takeaway treat but instead got a tasteless watery curry. I had chicken tikka biriani and husband had chick tikka masala (which was a vivid fake red colour) but both were equally dreadful. They must have worked hard to get it that bad, goodness knows who the “chef” was - have they ever cooked before?

Chicken over cooked, dry and tough - sauce was watery, it literally seperated after a few minutes and water appeared on the plate.

Excellent food at a very reasonable price

High expectations but felt a tad disappointed. Got there at 6, not many in so would have expected a fairly speedy service, took 20 minutes to get poppadoms and pickles and mixed starter arrived around half past. Poppadoms and pickles were good though be hard to get that wrong really. The mixed starter consisted of 2 lamb and chicken pieces, 2 seekh kebabs and an onion bhaji. Bhaji was nice, chicken was nice, lamb a bit tough and the seekh kebab was more like a sausage, not very impressed, seemed wrong lol. Shared a king prawn saag, was ok but prawns overcooked and a bit chewy. They forgot my naan and I only just received it in time to finish the curry. Bring your own booze which I like!Not sure I'll be rushing back but will give it another go sometime.

Came here for a Birthday meal for my sister. The management set up the best table for us and was very welcoming and polite towards the whole family. The waiters were very polite and was patient while our large party ordered. The food arrived at the same time by the vast majority of staff. None of our party were left out and we all ate together. The food itself was impeccable and out of our knowledge Shimla went out there way to even prepare a birthday dessert. We will definitely be booking again in due course.

Had food now a few times and it’s absolutely fantastic! This is the best Indian in Doncaster for flavour, value and service. Really nice staff and welcoming, thanks I’ll be back soon!

Shimla was always best Indian around. Now it's been re furbished just love going more and more. Would recommend Banquet nights, choose your own 3 courses for exceptional price.

Beautiful restaurant with a really nice atmosphere. Waiter was wonderful and gave excellent service. Food however, was average at best. When feedback regarding lamb vindaloo given (bland and tasteless) manager was aggressive and defensive -made us feel really uncomfortable. Would not go back or recommend to anyone.
