Absolutely shocking, food cold,phoned up and was told what do you want me too do, refused refund unless took food back, if I'd of been well they would of had it back, so wasted £ on food,stay well clear,not even polite or try to offer to bring more food as they are busy,no buisness should be so rude or patronising Never again

Food was poor curry was v weird chicken tikka massala had pieces of mince and onion in, naan was hard as plaster board.Poppadoms was ok.Will not be returning.

Birthday celebrations spoilt by awful service, 1 hr for starter, then another for main..starter's came out separately and then plates cleared before everyone had finished..priority given to takeaways..no apology or offer of tea and coffee, when food arrived very small portions.,..6.30 booking left at 9.15..appalling service. Will not be returning for celebrations of any kind too many other restaurants giving better service in the village.

always miss things off your order. plus the mrs ordered a chicken tikka main which came less than a chicken tikka starter with even less chicken and salad. I used to love this place but every order is wrong!

Food is lovely but the wait for it when the place is busy is not brilliant. Took nearly 3 hours to serve a starter and main course!

We had a table booked here but unfortunately due to "managerial error" the table was given away. I suspect this is a lie and the table was given away because they did not want to follow through on their promise of allowing my party to order the 5 course menu deal on a bank holiday. Due to this unfortunate event I can't comment on the food but I will not be recommending Shimla to anyone because of an awful lack of customer service.

Utterly disgusted with tonight's service from SHIMLA. My parents have been regular, loyal customers here for over a year, literally ordering on average 2 takeaways a week! My dad personally went in to the restaurant to book a table for this evening earlier in the week, all was okay and wrote in the diary, however, when we walked into the restaurant there had been a 'managerial error' and our table had been taken. There were 7 of us, including 3 babies who were all hungry and due a feed. This was just not good enough, considering how loyal my parents have been to the restaurant, and there were no apologies. Unfortunately my parents won't be eating here in the future.

Used the Shimla for years. But it’s been on the decline lately. Tonight’s delivery was well over an hour late, cold and not very pleasant. Never using them again.

Food delivered incorrectly told if I wanted to change it I would have to go back to the store food was horrible cold will not use again horrible staff and rubbish customer service

On Saturday 25th September I ordered a take away at 6:15 pm for a 7:45 delivery. I said can it be delivered, or should I collect? The guy on the end of the phone said, “it’s fine, we can deliver”. He then took my mobile number & my address. That gave them an hour and a half to prepare & deliver it - a 2 minute drive. At 8pm it hadn’t arrived. I phoned and asked where the food was. I was told, “Sorry, the driver is just leaving - it’ll be there in 10 minutes”. I phoned again at 8:20, to be told “it’s on its way”. I phoned again at 8:30…”where’s the food?” “Oh”, was the reply,” it’ll be there in 10 minutes” “Don’t bother”, says I, “ you can stick it” I can understand if they were busy, but they could have at least called me, to tell me of the delay, instead of me having to call them 3 times to be given the “it’ll be there in 10 minutes”, runaround each time. Will I use them again? There’s more chance of me catching the clap off of the Queen.

Came here with my girlfriend on July 7 th and was totally surprised by the service by this amazing establishment. Food was served quickly and piping hot and was of the highest quality. Loved the special biriyani and the pineapple fritters. Many thanks and compliments to the chef and table staff for a memorable night out.

Horrible. Had today wont again. Potatoe rice had this weird rubbery taste didnt even eat it along with the chicken. Samosas covered in oil. Still hungry and over 20 pound down

Every meal we've had from here has been great. Both when we eat in and when we have a takeaway. The guys there are all so lovely to us and our son, so he loves it there. And every meal has always finished with a complimentary shot of Bailey's and brandy to go with our liqueur coffee. Would highly recommend a visit next time you're in the area thinking of somewhere to eat 👌

Placed a delivery on Saturday evening. Amazing food, we ordered chicken tikka starters with Tandoori special and chef special Cliff gosht and side orders of curry sauce and bombay potatoes. The food was served hot and had amazing taste to it, could not fault it. Compliments to the chef! We instructed the driver to leave the food on the porch and when he came he rang the doorbell and waited in his car to see if we received the food. Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone in Aldridge and the surrounding area and anyone passing by! 10/10

This is virtually on my doorstep. Cliff and the guys at Shimla will go out of their way to accommodate your requirements with food which is always very good. This has been under the same management for 20+ years, which says it all. I am pleased to see a strong local community supporting this restaurant. They are licensed however you can take your own drinks.

We was let down by another local restaurant after booking for 14 people for my sons birthday. I telephoned to see if the Shimla had availability for us, they asked what time i would like the table for, I explained the situation and that we needed the table straight away. Their response was fantastic and offered to set this up immediately for us. On arrival they were very welcoming and no soon as soon as we were seated they placed the papadum's on the table without any prompt "which were delicious"! We just wanted to say as a group thank you for making our evening very enjoyable and accommodating us at such short notice, All of the food was delicious and the service was great, we will all definitely be returning again and would strongly recommend visiting here as this was my first time also.

Superb meal every single time, brilliant service! They know me very well now and always make me feel welcome. It is now my parents local, my aunt has started visiting and so has my neighbour!

Brilliant food excellent service.

I came here as part of a large group on a Monday evening when we were the only ones there so had the undivided attention of the staff. We all went for the poppadums followed by a starter & main course all for a great price. The restaurant seemed to be licenced but they didn't mind us bringing our own alcohol. The food was cooked promptly and served to us in groups. Although all the food I had was tasty, I found it to be a bit oily and others looked to be the same. The onion bhajis and vegetable pakora were particularly oily which made them less crispy. My aubergine and pea curry was good with a lot of aubergine and lovely spices. We accompanied the dishes with a selection of rice dishes and different breads, all looked and tasted good. Definitely worth a visit, good food and friendly staff, although it is upstairs so could be an issue for those with mobility issues.

Truly enjoyable..food is fantastic,clean and pleasant surroundings.Oh watch out for the complimentary drink after eating!!

I cannot thank my old 'friends' at the Shimla enough for the many wonderful meals I have eaten there and the many excellent takeaways that I have enjoyed. Always warm, friendly and welcoming witha great choice of meals.

This restaurant was disappointing. It was very busy and the tables were squashed so much that one member of our party often got bumped as waiters went past. The portions were very small, I'm not a big eater and i finished everything. The food was bland and not very spicy at all. We ordered a bottle of house wine (£10) but they didn't have any so brought us a different one -no problem but when the bill came they charged us more. We complained and it was sorted but there was much discussion and lots of cross looks our way. My friend has just moved in near this place so would would have used it often but now we will go else where.

We go for a curry every Friday night, and are spoilt for choice in Aldridge, with roughly 10 different choices local to us. I must say the shimla tops the list both in terms of quality and value. As well as this, the staff are so friendly. This has definitely become our go-to curry of choice.
