Shikumen Luxe in City of London, Westminster

I used to love to go to this restaurant whenever I stayed at the hotel. So it was my normal place to go for a quick dinner as soon as I arrived. The atmosphere has changed the food did not have great taste The quality was simply not there.

Restaurant was very quiet with only two other tables occupied. More Deliveroo delivery drivers came whilst I was in the restaurant then customers seated. Food wasn't great, the service was abrupt, everything about the place screamed avoid. We left most of the food but neither server asked if anything was wrong. Bill was wrong as well and we felt that by being there we were a hindrance. We actually went out for something else to eat after the meal as we were so disappointed by the meal and the quality of the food. The cost is also astronomical and isn't anywhere near worth the money. Between the two of us we had three starters, one main dish and rice and two drinks, cost was over £50 per head and we felt totally ripped off. Really terrible experience which I wouldn't want anyone to repeat. Total lack of interest from staff who probably know that they are ripping of guests and there is no incentive as most people wouldn't be repeat customers.

Very nice food! Very authentic food. We ordered squirrel fish, it is very delicious, highly recommend it!

Booked online for 9:30 for my wife’s birthday. When we turned up they told us that they closed at 10pm so there was no point even ordering. It spoilt our night. Obviously I can’t comment on the food but just beware if you want to eat late.
