Atmosfera tipica da pub! Abbiamo mangiato e bevuto benissimo! Personale molto cordiale. Ottime opzioni anche vegetali!

This is a lovely pub tucked out of the way in a very quiet square. It feels, and is, very authentic. We went for a few drinks and a meal. The service (Alex) was utterly wonderful and she put up with our vacillations with extremely good grace. The mains were standard pub grub but the chips were excellent and stayed crisp until the end of the meal. My burger was a bit salty but not a disaster. Range of puddings really not up to scratch. Only two available. They need to up their game on this.

We had a lovely dining experience at The Prince of Wales. Delicious food, great selection for all. We can’t wait to come back again soon to sit and dine in this cosy pub.

We moved on to this place from the White Bear just along the road. It's located in a very pleasant, and seemingly expensive residential square. The pub is tucked away almost out of sight in the corner. We didn't eat here but tried a few of the Master Brew beers. They were very good; well kept and well served, unlike a previous place where we had the same beer. What more can I say? Great pub, good location, a few tables outside. Very pleasant.

Like a local country pub but in the heart of the city. Tucked away in the corner of the square it’s Kennington’s worst kept secret. On cricket/sunny days it’s rammed and spills out onto the square but the rest of the time it’s your sleepy local doing takeaway beer and great food. Outside seating available or get plastic glasses and head into the square. Just be respectful to the local residents.

I've read many of the comments shown here about this pub and I noted that there is a clear indication of a rude man who works behind the bar... ... I've been to the Prince of Wales before with friends and we had a good time but the afternoon of 09/08/22 I just walked in and was immediately 'greeted' by a rude bartender who patronised me and made me feel uncomfortable in front of my fellow guest. I left the pub very upset!

Last Friday bought a small Pinot Grigio (£6) and half of lager (£3) and ended up being charged £10.80. Basically the barmaid gave herself a 20% tip. I don't mind paying service for eating, but would advice anyone buying drinks at the bar to check their bill!

This pub used to be excellent, however the rudeness of the staff has completely ruined it. We had a table booked and the man dismissively pointed at a dirty table covered in spilt drinks and dirty napkins and then said "the tables behind that girl" and pointed, whilst turning his back on us and walking away. When we left and told him to cancel the booking he just shrugged and turned his back on us again. I live a few minutes walk away and will never return

This is an incredibly wonderful pub to which I have proudly bought many of my friends to. Just yesterday though I walked in with a pal and was instantly greeted by an aggressive gentleman who shouted at us to “get behind the line!!” and then demanded to know where we wanted to sit. I was actually gobsmacked at how rude this guy was being in front of his customers. I decided to spend my money elsewhere. What a shame, I’d been looking forward to having a pint in this pub all over lockdown. Get rid of him please, you’re losing business.

This is a superb, well managed pub in a quiet Georgian square but also close to major routes and Kennington Oval. We enjoyed our freshly prepared meals and the excellent choice of wines and real ales. Highly recommended.

We visited for dinner and had a fantastic experience. Greeted by warm, friendly staff and we sat by the cosy fireplace, it was beautiful. We had a delicious meal followed by the most incredible sticky toffee pudding - highly recommend. Looking forward to our next visit here already and to come in for a Sunday roast.

Love this pub. Went twice in five days on a brief visit from the United States. Good drinks, good food, nice people, and we were the only tourists (although we tried to hide that). Thank you especially to Luke for making us feel at home. Hope to be back soon.

We had a first rate dinner at the POW last night. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff are friendly and the food was fantastic - good quality, good choices and very generous portions. My only regret is that I was too full for pudding. We will be back very soon. Thank you.

Have been here a few times in the last couple of months and am never disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely and cosy and the food and drink are great value. The veg platter is epic and the sticky toffee is one of the best I've had. Service was impeccable, thanks for a great evening!

The new management have improved this pub enormously. It now has a really lovely cosy atmosphere, subdued lighting, candles on the tables and low volume music. The menu includes all the pub favourites and the Sunday roast today was exceptional. A very welcome addition to the Kennington scene - keep it up guys!

Our first time at this pub, and love the charming, quiet and pretty location. Very welcoming staff and an excellent menu with a good range of roast lunches and other things. We started with the vegetarian sharing platter which was delicious and then all enjoyed a very generous plate of very well cooked roast lunch. The veg was cooked perfectly, the Yorkshire was crispy and the meat was tender and delicious. Will definitely be going back as would like to try all the other things on the menu!

Came by for a Sunday roast as a friend mentioned the little pub round the corner does serve food now and boy was I pleasantly surprised, it's not like other pubs I've been too, this roast actually tastes fantastic and they use sirloin cut, what more could I have asked for, I could of had seconds but had a few cheeky ones beforehand, definitely will be back with my friends next week.

We visited The Prince of Wales last night after hearing that it has new owners. We were very pleasantly surprised. It's kept it's charm but the interiors have been cleverly and stylishly updated and the artwork has been curated by someone with a great eye. We were so glad to see a delicious new menu. I had cornfed chicken, my partner lamb shank , both were mouth watering, finished off with one of the best sticky toffee puds I've ever tasted. Can't wait to return!

No queríamos irnos!!

This is a wonderful place for having a drink sitting outside and looking over Cleaver Square, a lovely and more relaxed part of London. The pub is fairly small, decor is simple and in keeping with its age and although the pub doesn't have a big menu it does a few things well and that is part of its charm. A friend and I had the beer battered fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Worth a visit for an informal evening.

The pub itself is nothing to write home about, indeed it is pretty tiny and doesn't have the greatest food or widest selection of beers. What it does have is access to Cleaver Square, and the ability to lend you a boules set to play in the square. Makes for a great summer's afternoon

A very disappointing experience. I would strongly advise NOT going here for a Sunday roast. - We had to wait 45 for our order to be taken. - the Diet Coke tasted of nothing, how do you get Coke wrong? - The food was average at best. The Roast potato's were probably the worst I’ve ever had, tasteless and rubbery. The beef was badly over cooked and very chewy. Not satisfied at with my experience.

We booked an outside table as they have heaters but they had no gas in either of them. This means that when one ran out nobody had bothered to replace it. At least the waiter tried the second one which we were grateful for but this place is not well run. Two things were missing from the very small children’s menu. We put out orders in and then all had to wait over an hour for our food. We had asked for some nibbles but nothing came. We eventually ordered some chips as there was nothing else to eat. Then the food arrived came and was almost inedible. The cauliflower Wellington had a soggy piece of pastry on it and was served with an undercooked chunk of cabbage. The gauchujong tofu was a poorly plated mess, and the tofu was rubbery. The arancini balls were just not tasty. The waiter asked if the food was ok within minutes of it coming and we said yes but hadn’t really had a chance to eat much of it by then and we were so grateful to get any food as were so hungry. The quality of the food was very poor for the price we paid. The staff seemed to be doing what they could but would often disappear and we had to go in to get service several times. Just don’t book this place and definitely not outside.
