So good that they do Seniors portions of fish and chips as well as being excellent. Ordering online is a doodle and such a good way of skipping the queue on busy evenings as you can pick it up from the the left hand door not the main chippy

The food is Brilliant, cooked to perfection, always greeted with a smile when you enter the shop, food is always cooked fresh, you could not ask for a better chip shop experience.

A must visit every time I’m in or near Biggleswade (about once a month). Highly recommended without reservation.

This place has some great reviews so gave it a go. Chips were great but burger was inedible, memory’s of school dinners circa 1975. Guess we should have ordered the fish.🫤

After many months of my friend recommending that I get a meal from here, I am disappointed I couldn't have tried it sooner. Quality of food is great, prices are very fair and the only downside was that I had to wait for some time. Probably due to the fact it was Friday after a payday though. They do close a lot earlier than many fish and chip shops but trust me, if you can get there in time, it's more than worth it.

Was looking for a decent chippy on the way home up the A1 from Hitchin. Read the good reviews and I have to agree that this is a really top place. Food excellent, staff great and the place was really clean and tidy. Well done!

First time using this chippy and wasn't disappointed the cod was thick and juicy its taken along time to find a decent chippy and we will definitely be coming back

This was a FANTASTIC takeaway in the heart of Biggleswade. Wanted somewhere to eat in and they offered us a simple stool and bench combination which was perfect but the food - unbelievably good. Service first class. Smiles and friendly faces all round. Happy place. Happy staff. Excellent food and really good prices. We will be back and if you read this you should go there as well.

The cod here is lovely. Even the regular is of a good size and the batter is lovely. The chips are really good to. I have not found a better chip shop in Bedford, Sandy or Biggleswade.

Always huge portions and great large haddock. Can get very busy but always a friendly service. Nick my name sake is the best cook it's alway good but just a bit more perfect if Nicks cooking lol. It does get busy at peak times but it's worth the wait I drive past other places a right across town to get ours from here it's worth the drive

We ordered a large cod and chips, a regular cod and chips, 2 mushy peas, pickled onions and a saveloy for the 3 of us, we couldn't finish it all. It was freshly cooked and outstanding. Parents loved the pickled onions and mushy peas and were fighting over the portions 😁 Absolutely lovely also to be given a freebie of curry sauce! We'll be back!

Lovely cooked fresh chips and you can taste the freshness of what you are eating. The batter was beautiful and light too. Was very busy which is always a good sign as well. Will be returning 😎

Great fish and chips, tastes good, well priced, good portions, comes in a box. What more could you need? Well, I’ll give you a bit more - the people that work there seem jolly nice too. Upon entering was met with a warm welcome and service with a smile.

Incredibly hit and miss. Sometimes, it's really good. On other occasions, it's average to poor. I recently had the regular cod and chips, and the cod was incredibly overcooked. The batter was incredibly crunchy, and the fish was a little dried out! The chips are usually good, though. The women who serve you are lovely, too.

Best fish and chip shop in miles, used to be local, now live 20 miles away and I am yet to find a better fish and chip shop, and I have tried plenty. Curry sauce is also amazing.

First time, I've been to this chippy. Food was excellent, although prefer my chips a little smaller on the cut. Bit pricey for just for a pie and chips, but suppose your paying for the awesome box they came in.

We walked in 5 minutes before they closed at 2000. I didn't know they closed at this time but we were felt more than welcome and ordered our fish. I thought after they told us they were about to close it would be a problem, it wasn't they were still happy and smiling,the food was great and I don't go here very often, but I'm guessing we would be treated the same if we walked in as they open as when they were closing. Great service great fish great people I will definitely go back again and again If you like proper fish-n-chips please try this place. No greasy fish lovely taste and great crispy chips, wonderful xxx

What an amazing fish and chip shop. Fish bigger than my leg, chips sweet but with that great kick of salt and vinegar. Curry sauce on point. Then I found out he done fresh hot doughnuts and sauce. The service.....second to none and I even tipped. Thanks everyone, a full happy tummy.

The place was very busy as they had a staff shortage. However, they did keep you informed about your order. Food piping hot and tasty. Definitely recommended.

This is a great fish and chip shop , the previous week i had cod and chips at plattells in wells next the sea and sheffs is right up there for with them . Great value for money and lovely, friendly staff ,easily the best in the area.

We ordered online and the food was ready to collect in 15 minutes! When we collected we were greeted by cheerful, friendly staff. The food was perfectly cooked, not too oily. "The gluten free options were brilliant, and it would catch everyone's eye. The gluten free chicken was a generous portion and tasted delicious. Love this place. Does gluten free anytime (some places it’s only on certain days which is a pain as you’re not just gluten free on certain days - it’s everyday!). We live 15 minutes away. We order and pay online and it’s ready by the time we get there to collect. Still warm by the time we get home. Highly recommend

I have lived in Bedfordshire for 26 years and have always found that you could not get good Cod and Chips between Coventry and London with all fish and Chips shops visited over the years providing bland battered cod with skin still on and what I believe to be frozen due to lack of taste and texture. However I have since discovered Sheff's in Biggleswade and it is a Fish and Chip shop Oasis in a desert of mediocrity. Thick white chunky cod everytime I order with no skin on and beautifully cooked, crispy batter, tasty chips and all nicely presented in a box. Curry sauce tastes just like you find in the Midlands and up North. I live around 6 miles from the shop but will make the round trip and drive past 4 other bland fish and chip shops on the way. Keep up good work guys, highly recommend!

A big queue outside must mean something and when we came to be served we found out why this place is so popular. Excellent portion size of delicious fish and chips cooked to perfection and served by very friendly staff. The containers our F&C were served in kept the contents hot until we got home. Very good value as well! We are now regulars!

Have lived in Biggleswade for 12 years and can't believe we have only just found Sheff's Fish and Chips. Excellent quality, not greasy, and really good size portions. My husband is a coeliac and loves the gluten free fish and chips. We will definitely be regulars now.

If you can't give what is asked then you shouldn't be taking the money and then to say refund may take several days is just unacceptable! Won't be ordering again

Go to place for really good quality chips , they serve proper thick cut fresh chip shop style chips, great kids menu and I really enjoy the veggi burger too

Wow! I have not enjoyed fish and chips since I was a kid. I bought from here as a quick meal and it was a great suprise to find it to be delicious. I would say it is the best fish and chips I have had it years but that would be lying as its actually the best I have ever had! I will be back for more and I will be getting it for all my family next time 👌🏻

The best fish shop I've ever been to. Very clean, and the staff are welcoming but above all, the food is delicious and there is an extensive choice to suit the tastes of all the family.

Not from the area but a local mate told me of this place. Friendly and efficient service, fair pricing and great quality food. The kitchen seemed crisp and clean and the ladies serving were lovely. 5 stars would definitely recommend :) great fish and chips! Kids meal (nuggets and chips) went down a treat too. Proper chicken breast with a light batter coating. Not some processed job. Wonderful!

Been to Sheffs for a few years now but used the online ordering recently- so easy to use and quicker than ordering by phone. Only used to get one GF meal and one regular cod and chips but gluten free batter is so thin and crispy that we both have this now! Delicious !!

The girl answering the phone is extremely flat, with no enthusiasm in her voice, she's rude and abrup, if your looking for a good kind and polite service don't expect to get it here, the foods good but is it worth being spoken to like your a thick idiot and left feeling stumpt and upset by a girl with a mood issue.......

Ordered from here this evening and it was AMAZING. Chips were perfect, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and very tasty. The haddock was absolutely delicious too! Ordered over the phone. Arranged a collection time. Only two customers allowed in the shop at one time, sanitizer available, contactless payment easy. Good delicious and hot.

Found this place as I was on the way to watch Biggleswade United play Oxhey Jets, and Sheff's is just round the corner from the football ground. Chips hot and tasty, they could have done with a bit more salt & vinegar, they put the S&V on themselves. Good service, well worth a visit.

Fish was dry and overcooked, with a strange musty flavour. The chips were limp, pale and undercooked. Sadly it was very disappointing, especially after being recommended to try it ,as was told how good it was. Won't be having it again...

We came across this place on google and after reading the reviews we thought we would give it a try. We live quite far out of town and my boyfriend was hesitant to travel the distance in case the food went soggy however Sheff’s absolutely exceeded expectations tonight. On arrival, staff working behind the till were friendly and helpful. The haddock was fresh, very meaty and full of flavour - the batter was nice and crispy too. Chips were soft and fluffy inside and crispy on the out! Very nicely presented. We will visit again :)

Used to go to Saxon fish shop, then tried this shop out as Saxon did the fish soggy and undercooked. the fish is so crispy and the chips are crispy and nice too Would 100% recommend !!!

Great fish and chips, and they really do gluten free (as opposed to saying they do but never actually having it available, like some other places locally). Fish is fresh, chips are great, very organised for social distanced collection. Only lost a star as curry sauce was gloopy probably from overheating

Sheff's Fish and Chips are hands down the best chip shop in Biggleswade. Fantastic chip portions, fresh fish and a friendly smile on every visit. The cod specifically will not disappoint. Prices are a little on the higher side but you definitely see the difference in quality, so well worth it for me. They now also have online ordering to minimise close contact during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Great fish and chips. Cooked perfectly 10 out of 10. COVID safety, not so good. Half the customers weren't wearing a face covering, none of the shop staff either. For that reason won't be returning for the moment.

I have been a long term regular customer. I was missing my regular Friday night fish and chips due to the lock-down. Finally plucked up courage to fetch a take-away from Sheff's. I tried their on-line ordering system, but my desktop computer would not cooperate, so I telephoned up instead. Got a very friendly and helpful service for my order and time slot for payment on collection. Arrived slightly early, nevertheless my order was ready. It was very well organised for collection and payment, no queues. Take out order was nicely packaged for carrying. It was always the best Fish and Chips in the area. It still is and was greatly enjoyed by all of my family.
