Ordered a rock and ended up with the tiniest piece of fish I've ever had in my life covered in loads of batter to make it look big. Absolutely disgusting that you thought that that was acceptable to give to anyone. We will be going elsewhere from now on.

In my opinion the food has gone down hill over the years....chips were done in old oil and were brown not nice and golden....Will be going somewhere else....

Both myself and Ocean were completely let down by Uber. Driver took over an hour to collect the food. Ocean were fantastic when the driver decided to not bother taking the food and left the order. Ocean re-made my food fresh and arranged another driver as soon as they could. I hope you guys are reimbursed by Uber and thank you for the fantastic service and food.

Best fish and chips in Leighton Buzzard. Had to wait for it to be cooked which toom a while - but sometimes you have to wait for good food!

Its cooked to order and the simple batter makes a huge difference . Much better than the palm/vegetable oil which is just saturated grease used by most places .

Friendly staff, food cooked fresh to order and no queue, good portions and reasonably priced, plus they had battered Mars bars 👌 We will be returning soon

Fish & Chips here are lovely. Also had the spam fritter, which was also very good. They cook everything fresh while you wait, as well. Good sized portions too.

Disappointing. Ordered 2 small cod, small chips, large chips, chicken nuggets and a battered jumbo sausage. The cod were the size of mackerel fillets. Very small and 2 were jammed one bag so they stuck together. Absolutely no difference in size between the large and small chip portions. Food was cooked well and tasted good.

First fish and chips since moving to the area. Great service, top quality fresh food and good portions. We shall be sure to come back to Ocean Fish Bar!

Food is great but the young lady with brown hair takes the Micky with large chips. I know times are hard but you are out of order. A large chips here is like a small everywhere else but the price is still £2.50. You gunna lose customers this way. I know I am looking elsewhere now. If times are hard out your prices up. Don’t just give a hand full of chips.

Love, love, love their battered halloumi and their onion rings, all food is great I have never had one problem, in fact I order there far too much but I couldn't live without it!

My dad used this chip shop years ago the same people and still the best chip shop in Leighton b buggard good value and nice food if we are ever in town we always have a meal keep up the good work thanks Ray and Donna

Great service and food, cheaper than other stores in the area too. Easy access with parking in the front and a Pub on the opposite side to get a drink.

Freshly cooked fish. Very crisp batter. Chips were unremarkable but did the job. The portion sizes were sensible rather than over big. All in all; a lucky find.

Crispy chips, lovely light batter

Sadly after some good weeks, today was the worst we have had for a long time. Thin cod, overcooked chicken and chips were thin with very little soft potato And really inedible , phoned to express my Disappointment there was little reaction Other than sorry! Now I am going to eat humble Pie (pukka)! because Tim phoned back and apologised for one of his staffs handling of the situation in so far as they only said they were sorry to hear of my complaint......whilst my conversation with Tim is private, all has been resolved and I will venture back as usual to continue eating what in my opinion were some of the best Fish and Chips in the town.......so I will forgive them there over site from my last visit whilst they were under pressure from high demand and let normal service resume.

Amusing name for this fish and chip shop as they don't sell alcohol and it is nowhere near the sea. It does sell the second best chips in Leighton Buzzard though and is a much shorter walk from my humble abode so it is our chippy of choice. We were delighted when they introduced deep-fried halloumi. Cheese that squeaks, what's not to like?

We ordered large cod & chips & both were huge. Batter was lovely & crispy & the fish was cooked perfectly, so soft & delicious. No issue with the chips either. They were well cooked & crispy. Nicest takeaway we've had in ages. Will be my go to chippy in future.

Really good local fish and chip shop. Never had to wait very long here when collecting delivery orders. Staff are very nice and friendly. Will have to try the food sometime soon as smells so good

Best fish and chips in the town although prices have gone up again.

This used to be one of the best chippies around, now the chips are just average. they're nice, but not as nice as they used to be. Also, we always have to wait ages as they never seem to have any chips ready and need to prepare and cook them after we arrive and order.

A thoroughly nice fish and chips with good service. Nearly everything is cooked to order so it takes a little while but it is worth the wait.

Was looking forward to our first fish and chip takeaway since lockdown, unfortunately disappointing. This chippy always used to be good but definitely not today. Chips were overdone, cod was also overdone with minimal batter and extremely small portion and granddaughter had a jumbo sausage that she said tasted funny. Altogether a disappointing experience.

This choppy has been in LB for years,despite new owners more recently it never fails to give top fish and chips....not seaside quality but when in town we always go here and have been doing for about 40 years

Always cooked to order but worth the wait. Good value and friendly service. Busy on Friday and Saturday tea times but quiet at other times. If you want your food cooked fresh then expect to wait for it but not too long.

I go here about once a week. The food is all freshly cooked and of high quality. The owners are a friendly couple who aim not only to serve top quality food but also try to make it all as environmentally friendly as possible. If you are in the LB area and want a take away chippy meal, there really is none better than here

Będąc na wakacjach w Anglii miałem przyjemność jeść z tej restauracji. Panierka bardzo chrupka i dobrze przyprawiona, frytki widać że domowej roboty. Całość smakowała i wyglądała bardzo dobrze. Także będąc w Leighton Buzzard warto zjeść.

Fifty meals, fish or sausage and chips. Really well cooked, everybody really pleased with meal. Cooked fresh, no soggy batter. Good value too. Thank you, we will be back.

Great value for money and bonus they deliver

Ocean Fish bar was always my choice for fish and chips in Leighton for probably the last 20 years and I would always rave about it, but then it changed hands to new owners and now I am left very frustrated that I go elsewhere now. The previous owners had managing the place down to an art form and the food was mega good, they knew how to manage the queues to ensure everyone got what they wanted without any fuss and in a timely manner. There was a handover period with the new owners, but last few visits I have been, the queues are longer, and not managed well to the point I waited 35 minutes for battered sausage and chips and then got told they hadnt cooked my order and I had to wait another 5 minutes. Don't get me wrong I know everyone has to start somewhere and learn the trade, but even after some transitional period the situation hasn't changed. Fish and chips should be a quick process of order, wait for the cook, and then out, not 40 minutes, with the original owners the queues were there because their food was in high demand, now the queues are there (in my opinion) because the process isn't. On the good points, the new owners have kept the great quality of food and value I enjoyed for years, and if the wait is okay with you then this is the place to go. Food - 4 stars Waiting times - 1 star.

In my opinion the best chippie in leighton buzzard . Even though it's been sold on from original owners they seem to have kept the same service

If I go for a take away I do not expect too wait 20 mins for a battered sausage to be cooked, (there was only one person in front of me). I appreciate the food is cooked to order but when you just want something quick this is not the place to go. I agree that this is the best fish and chip shop in LB but you need to factor in a long wait time even without a queue. Time and motion isn't factored in as people behind me just wanted chips but still had to wait for me to be served first.

They have the best fish, jumbo sausages, battery sausages and chips in LB! Always worth queuing the extra 5 minutes for them. Friendly couple who know their regulars well..

El mejor fish and chips en la ciudad para llevar. Casi siempre hay una cola, pero vale la pena la espera. El pescado y las patatas fritas son prácticamente cocinado, así que no tuvimos que esperar. A menudo se puede ver una cola cuando vas. No vayas si su prisa.

Tenemos un pescado y chips mucho más cerca de este, pero ahora que probamos uno algunas veces no regresaremos. El mejor lugar de LB para pescado y patatas fritas. Pida su pescado que se ve en la puerta y nunca como patatas fritas y algunas partes están algunos lugares nunca grasienta. El pescado es ligeramente con mantequilla y carne. Todo a un precio fantástico y un buen tamaño de la porción. Odio pagar más de la cuenta y tener tantas patatas fritas o un pez grande. Tenemos un gran bacalao y patatas fritas grandes entre nosotros dos. . . justo. Recomiendo encarecidamente cada vez.

Llamé hacia el final de la hora del almuerzo del viernes. Cuando pedí pescado y patatas fritas, me informaron que debía ser preparado. No tengo un problema con esta. Sin embargo, decepcionó a continuación se servirá un pescado de forma triangular que parecía que estaba recién salida del congelador. El sabor era insípida. No regresaré.

The Food here is very good with an excellent light batter on the fish. The fish cakes were also very good light and fluffy. Good portions of chips and the prices are very good too . The staff are all very friendly and I would recommend here to anyone .

Good reliable traditional chip shop, consistent quality. I wish they would be a bit more adventurous and offer some more fish varieties. Almost everything seems to be cooked fresh to order, not hanging around like some places, and that's very nice to see.

had to pop into Leighton and it was lunchtime so smelt the wiff of a chip-shop went in all the food looked clean and fresh so had fish and chips wrapped and a battered to eat immediately and really enjoyed it will definitely call in again if im there and im peckish .

Love the chips and the husband loves the chicken. Not keen on the curry sauce as its a bit to hot for me the staff are always polite and friendly.
