Had a nice portion of fish n chips and numerous pints of ice cold lager in the garden. As with all seaside towns, the food was over priced, but can’t complain on what it was like. Beer was better though! Definitely recommend for a pint and food On a sunny day

We regularly get our fish and chips from Sharon's as they can produce a gluten free version with a small amount of notice and you can't tell the difference. This is not something you can get at Peckish in Camelford where even the chips are not gluten free! The fish is always excellent quality at Sharon's and the service friendly. We ring ahead and then pop down and collect it. Highly recommended.

Oh dear from reading earlier reviews we were obviously unlucky. The chips were great but the fish was overcooked and very oily. By the time we took them out of the bag about 5 mins after buying them the oil had soaked through the cardboard boxes and was dripping everywhere. For the first time ever I didn't eat all my batter, only the crispy bits on the top.

Ermmmm what can I say. Don’t bother. We were starving. Really looking forward to tasty dish and chips…….well the scampi was ok and the battered sausage was fine even though they forgot to batter it! However the chips were awful, the old dry cheese that I ordered for my portion of chips didn’t even melt! I think they have been re fried about 4 times. We took the chips back and very politely asked for a warm fresh box of chips that wasn’t full of old crispy bits off the floor (obviously we didn’t say that) and were told they have never had any complaints and they refunded one portion of chips. We were starving and really disappointed. Upon arriving back to where we were staying I had a quick search for reviews and realised she was fibbing! Lots have had the same experience. I wouldn’t bother going tbh. Even the seagulls didnt stop and pester us…..they obviously know better!

Phoned at 7:15pm to ask are they still doing pizzas and can we order over the phone, yes was the answer and up to 8pm. Tried to call back which took 15mins to then be told oh no we are not doing pizza, we said ummm your just told us you were??? Then the phone went silent while clearly they were discussing, then a lady called Julie came on the phone to tell us you can’t of called here as we haven’t don’t pizzas all summer, we said no we just called 15mins ago, she says absolutely not you must be wrong. We've heard the fish and chips were lovely here and perhaps we would have been better to get them as takeaway. We made the mistake of using their picnic table area, having walked a lot that day and wanting to rest our feet. We repeatedly had to ask for our drinks and noticed several tables being served before us (when the occupants had trailed in sometime after us). We waited patiently, as this was a busy 'Eat Out to Help Out' time, but waiting for well over an hour just for fish and chips, with latecomers being served before us, is NOT OK. This place is incredibly badly organised, with apparently NO management.

I say the worst fish ever eaten, the bulk of it was left and the batter (or like a cake mix and greasy) was removed. The fish was certainly not fresh as it literally slid off the batter as it was picked up with a fork and greying and translucent in colour. It is such a shame as for a few years now it has been tradition for us to visit Boscastle during our holidays as my husbands family owned the Manor house when he was a child and my kids love to eat chips and gravy in the gardens (my boys still enjoyed these today). Certainly won't be getting the fish again and wasting over £5! I would have mentioned it but it was raining heavy and there was a queue forming at hatch. No idea what the reviews below ate there as it cannot be the same fish.

In a very crowded Boscastle, on a warm, sunny day, it was a relief to find this well organised and attractive outdoor space to relax in and enjoy lunch.Covid measures have been carefully thought out and the picnic-tables are nicely spaced out in the grassy, low-walled dining area. An outdoor bar is set up, too.The pizza menu looked great and, overhearing other customers, I can assert that we were not the only guests to be disappointed to find out that pizza is only served in the evenings. However, two of us had fish and chips which was very good. I had scampi and chips which was tasty (the chips, particularly, were great) but the portion of scampi was - well - skimpy. Twice as many pieces on my plate would not have been at all excessive. However, overall a good lunch in nice surroundings.Service was brisk and polite. Prices were very reasonable.

After a lovely morning walking the hills around the harbour we decided it was time for a rest and a bite to eat, and fish and chips by the harbour are always a must!We decided to eat 'in' at Sharon's Plaice, well in the garden and waited to be seated as per Covid19 instructions. After waiting five minutes for the 'serving' lady to finish meditating in her hut (I assume she was meditating as there was no outward sign of any physical activity from her) she pointed to a table. The menu was the usual mixture of chippy staples and pizzas, not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but on par with any other tourist trap. So, we made our choices and waited....and waited...and waited. The lady in her hut stared onto space, pointed three families to vacant tables and generally busied herself by doing nothing!Anyway after 15 minutes she emerged from her hut with pen and paper and took the orders from the three families who came in after us, whilst totally ignoring us as we sat patiently. Anyway I checked I wasn't wearing my invisibility cloak, which I wasn't so assumed the establishment had made its money for the day and had no need of our custom....so we took it elsewhere!! nb. After seeing what was served to the lucky diners who got a meal, I don't think we missed anything relating to a fine (or even moderate) dining experience!

The only reason for the 2 stars is the fish was nice enough. Poor portion sizes, burgers were car boot quality, pasties were cocktail sized, missing any steak and had been clearly stuck to the tray they were reheated on and came with the filling separate from the pastry. Charging for cutlery is a first for me and totally unacceptable. 45p for a sachet of ketchup or mayonnaise is just plain greed. We chose here instead of across the road as it looked quieter and we’re well aware of the difficulties in hospitality at the moment. But that was a mistake and we will never return. £55 wasted.

After a day hiking 13 miles of the SW Coastal Path we were pleased to take a seat in the garden of Sharon's Plaice and tuck into some fresh cooked Cod and Chips. The battered cod was excellent, quality fish and perfect batter. Just the right amount of salt and vinegar too. The chips were also very nice and the service was friendly and efficient. The only criticism is that for the cost I think the portion of chips could have been a bit bigger. Whilst I loved my Cod and Chips I did finish eating feeling that I'd have liked some more chips compared to portion sizes at other Chip Shops we've eaten at. I had cod, chips and mushy peas my wife had chicken nuggets, chips and mushy peas. The cod was amazing firm but delicate nice flavour the batter was light crispy not greasy. Only down side and I say this from 20 years of catering, was the fish was put in the box first so the bottom was a little soggy. My opinion. It was busy the day we were here and there was quite a wait for the food. This is not a complaint as it is cooked freshly for you so you expect a wait during busy times. We had haddock and chips, beautifully cooked and crisp. Our grand daughter had a small pizza which she ate in full, so it must have been good! Recommended.

We were stopping for the night at a local B&B; and opted for fish and chips al fresco, paid at the outdoor bar shack and we were told they would bring them to the table......31 mins later 2 x fish and chips arrived, food was ok, not the best but its a just chippy after all. And no, they weren't that busy.

We chose to eat here one evening as we were staying nearby. The fish and chips were excellent - lovely haddock and crispy, tasty batter which was cooked to perfection and the chips were excellent too. We are looking forward to visiting again when staying in the area :-)

Chips were bangin, lager on tap which was also beaut! Patient, well mannered staff. Chips soft yet crunchy, the curry reminded me a cross over between Chinese curry and the Irish curry from Tracy’s in Mosside Manchester which is also a bangin chippy.

It was our second visit this week to Sharon's plaice the first was faultless tonight appreciate its Saturday night the two girls were run ragged Emily was behind the bar and the other girl don't know her name didn't stop she was a real trooper hope the owners to this thriving business realize how hard they work

We decided to have a cone of chips from here and we were going to share them but after me and our 17 year old son who's a chip connoisseur tried them we had to have a cone each :). Best chips we have tasted for years. If you ask for a cone of chips in our local chip shops they end up putting them in paper which isn't a cone of chips here it is an actual cone. Plenty of salt and vinegar were put on them. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Enjoyed a delicious takeaway this evening. Two pizzas. Unfortunately the customer service let this place down. The waiting staff were miserable and had faces like wet weekends! Also, they couldn’t grasp the fact that we wanted a drink in the garden whilst we waited for the pizzas to be cooked!!!

Bought a large bag of chips as we all fancied a chippy. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed as the chips were insanely chewy. Nice taste, but chewy.

I can't remember where I read about Sharon's Fish and Chip Shop at Boscastle, but what a find! This small but popular cafe/restaurant not only supplies superb normal fish and chip products but also cooks absolutely fabulous Gluten Free Fish (in batter) and chips. The real proper job. These are served at any time and are not restricted to certain days of the week. Incidentally the cafe does hold a liquour license.

Two weeks ago after walking in the rain for 7 1/2 hours i turned up at Sharron's plaice in Boscastle soaked through. I had no accommodation and no idea what i was going to do. The Staff took me in helped me dry off and fed me a lovely plate of fish and chips. Then something remarkable happened, while i was eating my fish and chips and drying off Val and the rest of the team set about finding me somewhere to stay . Then with the rain still lashing down ( i cleaned that up ) they drove me to the bed and breakfast i had chosen from the several choices they had given me. Truely amazing just when i needed a kind helping hand i found three or four off them with Val and her colleagues. If i were Sharon i would be awfully proud of this team. So if you are in Boscastle and you fancy a bite to eat why not have it served to you by a bunch of kind strangers. And if you do say hello from the soaking wet slightly confused bloke who was in a much better situation having stumbled across these kindley souls.

Very tasty, fish n chips. If your feeling exotic go for the cheesy chips. Not sure how they produce such a large choice of food in such a small building but they do. Only sampled the fish, battered sausage and chips but very tasty.

Refried and soggy chips. Spoiled trousers from the fat that poured out of the box. Surely it’s not always like this?

Checked opening hours online and it said that it was open until 8:30pm on a Saturday. Arrived just after 7:30pm to be told that there was no fish left, no sausages left, nothing and that they had ran out! Either this is a sign that they had an unexpected rush or their ordering process is poor! We had some chips instead. They seemed ok. Would suggest they need to reduce their opening hours if they don’t have enough stock to supply what they advertise.
