Sharods Tandoori Restaurant in Redbridge

Tasted great but restaurant forgot one item of our order. Tried to ring the restaurant but the number didn’t work. Disappointing.

On a saturday night and we were the only customers in the place. Iwe understand why. We have been here before and have to wait for a table on more than one occasion. Food this time was rerrible. Bombay potatoes had gone off. The poppadoms were off. Portions were much smaller and the pieces of chicken and lamb were swimming in the sauce. The milk for the coffee had gone off. They bought the milk carton to the table to try it and it was lumpy. Their service was a -10. Staff sitting in one corner just chatting. Really have no idea how to run the place. Our 1 star if far too high a rating for this place.

Curry was so disappointing the Bombay potatoes tasted like they were drenched in boltanic vinegar the rice went all mushy like baby food when I mixed it in with the curry and they gave me the wrong naan bread

Food was supposed to be here more than an hour ago. Still hasn’t arrived. Phoned the restaurant they said the driver had left ten minutes ago. It’s been ten minutes since I phoned them and driver still isn’t here. Absolutely awful.

AVOID AVOID AVOID - watery curry with NO FLAVOUR! I’ve ordered from Sharod’s before and my family used to frequent when we lived nearby so I’m aware of what their curry should taste like, but this time’s curry was absolutely inedible. It was watery and lacked any flavour whatsoever - it felt like the person making it ran out of ingredients but still wanted to complete the order. I’m usually quite generous with food ratings but this was honestly the most disgusting curry I’ve ever had. This genuinely shocked me as an ole customer.

This has been my go to Indian for a while now, and the food I just received is the reason why! Flavour on top of flavour, sooo good always. 👌

I did not get the meal i paid for it. On just it it said enjoy my meal which has been delivered and i paid for it. Phoned the restaurant no answer i left so many messages.it is not nice to do that. Now the restaurant is closed

Rice was freezing cold and the curry was only warm

A once great restaurant gone downhill. Food was amazing, but service was odd and slow. Drink prices were astronomical, we were massively overcharged, and despite querying it, suddenly their English language disappeared. Will not be returning.

Got takeaway. Curries were bland and lacked any real flavour. Disappointing as this was a recommendation. If you like a 'UK' curry then you'll like this. I like mine with layers of heat and spicing which hits you at different times in each bite. This is cut and paste standard UK curry.

The food here used to be great This meal was terrible. The chicken was in great chunks and wasn’t a nice flavour on the tandoori tikka. The sauce on the korma was very watery and lacked any taste. Nan bread and onion bahji were very nice but didn’t make up for the terrible main dishes. Very disappointed will not order from here again.

I was not happy with my order, i orders pilau rice. I got soggy white rice, chicken had no flavour. Nan bread was flat. Would not eat from there again.

Waited an hour and 20mins. Phoned 3 times and the man kept lying about where my order was then hang up. Arrived after 1hr 20mins cold and covered in oil!!! Will never use again. Very bad service

I regularly have Indian from this resteraunt and is usually very good but this order wasn’t the best, I had to heat up the food once arrived and I felt like the rice was stuck together a little so it did feel a little disappointing.

The bharji was very mushy and the mint sauce was like yogurt - we always buy from you so very disappointed this time

I recently had a disappointing experience at Sharods due to the unprofessional behavior of one of their receptionists. This incident greatly affected the overall dining atmosphere and left me feeling disheartened by the lack of customer service. While enjoying my meal, I observed a delivery driver enter the restaurant and patiently wait for someone to assist him. The receptionist finally approached him, and the driver presented a code indicating his delivery order. The receptionist went inside to check on the order's status but returned without the order, causing understandable concern for the driver. In a polite manner, the driver inquired about the expected wait time, as it could impact his earnings during busy periods. Unexpectedly, the receptionist, an older gentleman with a beard, responded with frustration and began shouting at the driver. He exclaimed, "Why are you in such a hurry? Your order is ready! Don't come to this restaurant again!" This outburst and disrespectful behavior, displayed in front of customers, were entirely uncalled for. It is disheartening to witness a staff member berating and demeaning someone in the midst of their duties. Moreover, the receptionist's statement, asking the driver not to return to the restaurant, was highly unprofessional and unwelcoming. As a customer, I believe it is essential for restaurant management to prioritize staff training in proper customer service etiquette. Such incidents not only create an unpleasant environment for customers but also tarnish the reputation of the establishment as a whole. Customers should feel respected and valued, regardless of the situation. I sincerely hope that Sharods takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue promptly. It is crucial for management to remind their staff about the importance of treating all individuals with dignity and respect. Only through consistent and professional behavior can they cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for customers to enjoy their dining experience. Based on this unfortunate encounter and the receptionist's unbecoming conduct, I regretfully cannot recommend Sharods to others. Improving customer service should be a top priority, as it directly impacts the overall satisfaction and reputation of any establishment. Please take this feedback constructively and work towards creating a positive and respectful environment for all patrons.

AWFUL service today! The restaurant accepted my order and gave the estimated delivery time. However, they stated the food was delivered & it never came. I’m a regular customer so this is shocking! Never using again after this

I ordered the Lamb Thali and it was not worth it for the price. The lamb curry was very oily and so was the chicken curry. It came with complementary mint sauce with 1 naan and big poppadoms. The chicken tandoori was soft and the rest was dry and chewy. It also came with a lamb sheekh kebab which was a bit spicy for my taste.

It's not the biggest restaurant but the atmosphere is good and the customer service is excellent. The food tastes great and the portion size is reasonable. If you are into spicy food I would recommend ordering the vindaloo or Madras (chicken or lamb) available

Will never visit here again! We had a table booked for 21.15. We cld tell we wasn't welcome at that time. I think we had the last of the nights food It was bland, and tasteless. They cld not clear the table quick enough. So rude! Not even a towel to wipe our hands. I wished I never payed all the bill now. Used to use the restaurant but I'd rather have beens on toast!!

Got 3 texts saying it was going to be late, food was warm had to warm it up at home, no poppadoms but gave us the yogurt and salad for them. Won’t be ordering again unfortunately.

Tried this restaurant after I could not get through to my normal takeaway, as many others have mentioned food is too oily and bland, chicken in birana was overcooked and tough. My missus said don't order from them ever again otherwise she'll kick me out

I ordered chicken tikka masala and it was quite watery but was edible. The lamb samosa were big but had no taste whatsoever, a bit of seasoning wouldn’t go a miss. Delivery was only 5 mins late.

Curry was great but portion sizes were poor. The rice didn’t fill up the box. The order was very late too.

Food was okay - naan was cold. We were missing one of our dishes, we tried calling the restaurant 7 times but there was no answer so we were not able to resolve the issue.

Mango chutney was missing and chicken biriani was dry

So disappointed with my food last night. I dont know if they have changed chefs or was having a bad day in the kitchen. Chicken Biryani and vegetable curry was so tasteless and bland. Had to add some hot sauce to the curry just to give it some oomph. Vegetable samosa was also very bland. The chapati was not cooked all the way through and was still doughy. The chicken Balti was ok but I have had this before from Sharods and its always had a bit of a kick to it. Not this time though, very mild. I hope it was just a one off from Sharods.

Good food, friendly staff and accomodating for young children. Great night had by the entire family.

Delivery was quick. Sadly the food wasn’t great. Chicken Tikka Masala tasted ok but had far too much red food colouring and the naan bread wasn’t the usual soft and fluffy bread but more like crispy toast. We’d heard such good things about Sharod, but unfortunately our pick left us disappointed. ☹️

Probably the best Indian restaurant in the area

Tikka Masala was great, the Lamb Briyani needed a bit of extra salt, Naan was well done. Extra poppadoms was a nice touch. The vegetable curry was okay like every other curry place. Overall happy to order again.

The Nan bread was burnt and didn’t taste fresh, the chicken in the Biriyani was dry with an aftertaste. I used to eat at this place all the time but the food was really poor and tasted like it was left over from the weekend and just reheated. Plus it was late. Not impressed.

Food taste is good and economic. The ambiance is really good. Get a private box seat and spend time with your family.

I usually go to a different Indian restaurant. I thought to give it a try because restaurant looks nice and neat. The person who serving food is looks like good man and polite however It was big mistake and I do regret that now. Me ate the food as well ended up waking up in the middle of the night being sick vomited whole food. I have got small metal wire (I think cotton box packing metal sleak pin) from my mouth, thought first it was brush hair (one we remove while eating there) they will use to put oil on tanduri roti, then I checked in morning it was metal wire. my stomach is churning now. Toomuch oil I never seen any tikka and I never seen that kind of oiley panner. Last thing is that it’s also I am not happy bit for the price for nans then the other Indian I usually go to! Would not recommend at all.

Tandoori grill was salty and too bright red color. Cost is high for the quality of food.

I usually go to a different Indian restaurant but I heard good things about this restaurant from friends so decided to give it a try. Worst mistake of my life. First the lamb chops were undercooked, after one bite I could see the pink raw meat and decided to throw it away. Second I ordered lamb tikka masala and I’m not kidding there was about half an inch of oil on top of the sauce. I did end up eating some of the food as I was hungry, but I do regret that now. My boyfriend that ate the food as well ended up waking up in the middle of the night being sick. Last thing is that it’s also twice the price then the other Indian I usually go to! Would not recommend.

My chicken was undercooked (pink) I called restaurant they only replaced the korma but I had already plated the rice and naan which was contaminated.

Original delivery time was around 30 -40 minutes. Didn't get the food until 1 hour 15 minutes. The whole food was stone cold, it seems the food was made on time but due to delivery delays it sat in the restaurant. Very disappointing given the fact I had a refund from a previous order for similar issues. I think I will think twice about using just eat if this continues.

I have eaten in a several restaurants in from Woodford to Ilford and I would say that Sharod is truly the best. Best in the quality of food and with outstanding service. The staff are excellent. They make you feel at home. They get very busy and occasionally I have had to wait a bit longer than expected but it was worked the wait. Thank you Sharod.

Great food as always! However, my favourite dish, Chicken Madras does not seem to appear on the menu. Only Lamb, Prawn etc. Apart from that, Excellent. 👌

Their recipes are not authentic. Tandoori is not supposed to be deep-fried or fried. Generally, the food contains a lot of oil. Not healthy or fresh. The money I spent is not worth it. I was horrified to see chicken tandoori drenched in oil.

20 mins late, not that hot, missing item, I love this restaurant and eat in whenever I want Indian food. Not gonna have a delivery again as there is always something that goes wrong.

Apparently delivered my order to someone else. Called them to ask about my order, they then confirmed with the delivery guy. So according to them the delivery guy didn't touch base for such a long time? No surprise ppl complain about cold food

The meat was dry over cooked or had been reheated. Our order for the second time was wrong.

The restaurant text at 19.50 to say the food was on its way. The food arrived at 20.25. The restaurant is less than a 5 minute drive away.

We tried this place on a whim and the food was amazing! To the point where it will become our go to place for Indian! Korma tasty and fresh, rice and naan cooked to perfection. They also gave us a free starter as a surprise which was nice. Can't recommend enough!
