The Share Shop has moved and is now even better. Still great coffee at absurdly low prices. Still a buzzy friendly place to visit. You can still give yourself a self-congratulatory slap on the back by buying a suspended coffee and/or food for someone who is in need. But now it's bigger and better. All on one floor, with a great chidren's area complete with settees for tired parents. As well as more seating in general, there are two enclosed tables with swing seats that provide a lovely cosy escape. In addition to the usual items of a quality charity shop, there is local art on sale. There's also a corner where you can sit and browse through books before you buy. I always loved the feel of Share and was slightly nervy about its move to PepperStreet but the 'feel' hasn't changed simply got better. A very relaxed place to meet up with friends or family. During my most recent visit I had grandchildren with me aged 8-16 and all enjoyed browsing, snacking and drinking. If you're visiting Chester don't miss this place.

This wonderful place serves great coffee at sensible prices, and lovely cakes. You can buy a suspended coffee for a homeless person, so making you feel you're doing something worthwhile.

On a recent visit to Bude RSPCA charity shop I was asked to wear a mask, and informed Belinda that I was exempt. My young female carer was also asked about her mask, but before she could explain, she was ejected from the shop by Belinda, with an upraised thumb jesture, almost like hitching a lift. I was disgusted by her behaviour, and before explaining the situation, I requested the head office contact details. My request was denied. I left, and I will never return to any RSPCA shop. Shameful behaviour!

Share Shop - Chester (now at 50 Northgate Street) is, arguably one of the best small, independent coffee shops in the city. Furthermore, it supports families in crisis and people who are homeless in North Wales and Cheshire and also assists refugees. The cafe is bright and airy and looks onto Chester’s Town Hall square. The volunteer staff are cheerful and helpful and, what I like, is that they are meticulous about getting the milk for lattes and cappuccinos just right - nice and hot. The limited range of cakes are delicious; very moreish. The second hand clothing and bric-à-brac are very well displayed. The ladies section on the first floor is on a par with any commercial outlet. I do hope that they are able to continue providing both excellent refreshments and a much need service to those in need. There is an ominous “To Let” sign above the door.

Not a restaurant as such, but free food for homeless people. Also lots of free warm clothes, toiletries etc to make life a little easier. Several small rooms with bargains for the rest of us. Friendly staff - do call in and buy something, it's a great place.

Theres something lovely about this shop and all it does to help people with its works. I recommend roaming around the few rooms especially the vintage room for treats and gems.

Laura's effervescent charisma has been a huge loss to Handbridge since Meltdown's closure, but will no doubt be a giant gain to whatever comes next for the (former) Toastie Queen. I say former, as there's one final chance to taste her magic creations before the apron is hung up for good at fellow Chester indie scene star That Beer Place on Foregate St tomorrow, which I wouldn't miss for all the cheese in Cheshire...
