Delivery late again- even later than the delayed time they changed my order to. Whenever you order online they add 30 minutes to estimated delivery time. Now another 30 after that so 90 minutes since ordering.

We placed a order on just eat , normally shanghai way is really good. We haven't had our order and both times we rang up the person on the phone said " the order is out for delivery and will be with you soon. It is over a hour since our order was ment to be delivered still no order. Why do the staff have to lie and make up excuses. Just tell the truth . They were quick to take the money but haven't actually delivered the food. The food must be going abroad instead of to our address. Will not be using shanghai way again absolutely awful customer service

I pre-ordered food for tonight with it being New Year’s Eve and this is normally our go to Chinese but tonight they bought our food way to early, chicken tasted like eating rubber and what a waste of money never ordering from there again. Vile food, I would recommend that no one orders from there

Got delivery order wrong every time that we ordered from them and were not able to fix their mistake leaving one person with only a side . Found HAIR in soup in first spoonful!!!! Never ordering from them again. Very poor service and when called to request they fix the issue the person used cursed words to a customer.

We’ve ordered from here quite a few times and the food and service has always been great. Sadly the same can’t be said for our experience tonight. Placed our order and an hour later it hadn’t arrived. Not a massive order. Called them and was told ‘it’s on its way’. A bit like when a taxi company says it’s just turning into your road. Ten minutes later, no sign so called again. Then called again. It did arrive quite soon after that. We had the mixed starter. I’ve never had prawn toast without prawns nor spring rolls with virtually no filling and undercooked. To be fair the dumplings were good but the big spring roll was also undercooked. I called them to say I wasn’t happy and wanted a partial refund but was told I’d have to bring the food back. Whoever I spoke to laughed. How very rude. Won’t be ordering again. There are so many options in MH.

Very Disapointed. Ordered food at 8.30pm Order confirmed for 9.38pm latest. Called at least 30 times from 10pm with no reply. If you are closed take the option of Internet order OFF the net. We had toast instead. Won't be coming back to you.

Lots of onions in a dish that should be mainly mushrooms removing the flavour of the mushrooms. When we unpacked the order it was missing 2 items chips and wings in capital sauce. When called they had shut and now not open for four weeks due to staff holidays. It completely spoilt our evening

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. Absolute shambles of a takeaway. Made us wait over an hour (for something that should've taken 45 minutes) then told us we had to pay nearly DOUBLE for delivery in cash, and then took the food back when I refused?! Horrible service. The driver was extremely rude too, and she tried to enter my house! Disgusting behaviour that has lost them customers.

We waited for 3 hours called them 3 times said out address several times in the 3 calls, in the first 2 calls they said the delivery was on its way and in the third call they said it had been delivered which it had not so we told them we haven’t received the food and expressed that we are quite mad then hung up on us !! We then asked them what address they had down and they had put the wrong address and refused a refund and said there’s nothing they can do then began to blame us saying we put the wrong address down when we had a conformation email with the correct address eventually they said if we pay the delivery again they would send it out

And really it doesn't deserve 1 star.... had to wait over 2 hours for food to be delivered .. after ringing and asking if the food had even left the kitchen where I was basically lied to it finally turned up ... chicken was undercooked and substandard even the cat turned his nose up at it .. how this place is still going is beyond me after reading the past reviews environment health and the food standards agency would be all over this .. sort it out

Ordered a takeaway via their website and paid in advance. Finally turned up 3 hours late and the chicken wasn't cooked properly and not even an apology. There are plenty of other Chinese takeaways....avoid this one. They hardly ever pick up the phone and the quality if it arrives certainly isn't worth the wait.

I've just had a chicken curry delivered.. I ate about 4 peices of chicken thinking it was a weird texture.. oh well perhaps it's boiled.... So I cut into it and you can see what I was faced with in the picture... it was raw!!! So I called them, offered to send the pic. They went off to to speak to the chef, then offered to send another. Of course I don't want another... Just want your chef to be aware that they may need to cook a little longer as a safe alternative to poisoning people. He thanked me and hung up.. Only then did I see the review about raw food from the review 8 months ago... Careful people!!!

Please order from one of the many other Chinese takeaways in Market Harborough. I ordered last night and waited 2 hours for my food. Twice I was told the food was on its way. The second time I was told they had made a mistake and it was still in the kitchen and it would be with me in another ten minutes. Nearly 30 minutes later I finally received my food. No need to lie, just be honest with people.

Having used Shanghai Way for my takeaways for many years, I am disappointed, and quite frankly astounded, at the experience I have had this evening. Following my delivery, I called to inform them that my vegetarian daughter had found (and taken a bite out of) a piece of chicken in her sweet and sour vegetables and was consequently extremely distressed. I said I appreciated that nothing could be done but wanted them to be aware so they could be more careful in future. They then sent a 'manager' to my house, who proceeded to accuse us of mixing the vegetables with my son's chicken ball meat. At no time were the two meals anywhere near each other and the cross-contamination can only have happened at their establishment. I do not appreciate being called a liar.

Assuming that the Tier 3 lockdown is keeping them very busy, because in the past I have ordered twice and been pleased by the service. But last night I was disappointed when it hit 2 hours of waiting last night. Especially when I rang up to enquire and was told 20 minutes longer and hung up on... (it was a further 40 minutes) However the food was good and hot so all in all 3* I’m hoping this is a one off as I won’t order again if this happens a second time.

My family have used Shanghai way for years but this evening we had delivery - Took 1.5 hours and delivered stone cold. All I was offered was half price on my next order if paid in cash! She tried to blame JustEat but ordered direct from their website. Very disappointed.

Ordered a meal box, the meat was slimy, undercooked and smelt off! Rang up and asked for something else..... I was demanded to pay for delivery!!!! And when I said I wanted a refund.... the cheek of a woman said I’m not allowed one as she thinks her food is good! CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT! Never been spoken down to from any restaurant staff or takeaway staff as much as I have tonight. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS TAKEAWAY. If you want slop and then to be told you are wrong or try to get charged for delivery! Vile food! Terrible customer service and I will make sure anyone I know, will never order from Shanghai Way! Including people I know who live near the takeaway as well! Sort it out! And I’m debating on calling trading standards as well! And possibly the police as they are withholding money for something that was purchased that was beyond unsatisfactory

Absolutely appalling service from young guy serving, who completely ignored me. Only one other customer who was waiting for ice and he turned his back on me to take app orders. I waited patiently for several minutes then had no choice but to leave and get a drink elsewhere. As I did this I heard a sarcastic goodbye from the bar area. I am a regular customer in the sugar Loaf and welcome the opportunity to speak with a senior manager and identify the barman as I think this behaviour should be highlighted as clearly customer service should be a skill required for the job he is employed to do.

Food was good; we decided to eat at lunchtime and live nearby. Very busy staff attentive and pleasant. Clean and plates cleared without asking. BIG problem if you don’t like sharing with dogs yapping and begging for food. Surprised with hygiene being the in thing that they allow animals in the cafe. Definitely will be off the list.

We visited today (22.12.2024). We had booked a table online 1 week in advance for 11 - for a Xmas catchup with family. We were greeted with nobody.. waited to be seated with small kids.. to be told the table had been cancelled by the online farmhouse inns team - even after we confirmed our booking with the place on the phone a few days before. We eventually got a table after a member of management said "i had to move some tables around to accommodate you all".. our food came out incorrectly with a member if my family who is vegan did not receive the correct food content as the vegan chilli clearly advertised on the menu, to which they served with just initially cheese.. they then changed for another plate of nachos with sauces .. And then 3rd time round came out correctly. We were told we have a 2 hour time limit on the table as they were busy due to Xmas bookings.. we said we understood even thougg we had booked for the extra 30 mins which is all we needed.. we said we would leave but wanted to carry on having some more drinks .. to which the staff member said we HAVE to leave and give up our table and they were unsure if they could accommodate drinks for us somewhere else. We ended up staying on the table after being told 'we have had to move other people and tables around to accommodate you" the person serving our food was great.. the member of management was sorry to say very rude, not very accommodating and was clearly annoyed when the vegan food was / had to be changed. I always leave reviews for great service working in retail myself.. but I felt today was a terrible experience for us and understand the importance of service and customer experience.. we understood and understand it's a busy time of year but my gosh we were overwhelmed with the responses we got them questioned.. we remained patient and calm and understood it's a busy weekend.. we spent some decent money in there my came to £230 .. food when correct and served was very good on a plus. Sorry team Lutterworth FarmhouseInns.. but we told you we were coming and travelling from Northampton, Leicester and MK.. and our expected duration of stay, but you let us down massively. Absolute fools, just went into the shop then, £12 for some greasy chicken and chips and cash only!! You can KFC for £8... They literally couldn't care less and wanted me to do all the leg work to give them MY money, unhelpful was like " don't like don't eat". Genuinely never experienced such a poor customer experience for what is essentially a poor man's low level kebab shop charging more than gourmet Turkish kebab shops do. Why any of you locals support this business is beyond me.
