Shanghai Garden in Stafford

What can I say best in Stafford. Food always hot and very tasty. Longest wait 1 hour but that was a Saturday night

This used to be one of my favourite Chinese takeaway in Stafford. Sadly no more, We ordered on line and were informed it would be 44 mins for delivery. It finally arrived nearer 1h 45 mins after three hastening phone calls. The food was good as usual, except for the shredded beef in Peking sauce which was absolutely inedible. There was no beef, it was just strings off batter, I cut into the so called shredded beef and could not see any! I tried to speak to the restaurant to enquire what went on and was informed that " its how we cook it" After further remonstrations as to the missing beef the phone was put down. I will never use this place again.

Rice tasted of grease. Couldn’t even bite into the crispy shredded beef. Very disappointing. Won’t be going back.

Excellent food, consistent quality and a good vegetarian selection. Strongly recommend salt and pepper chips and hot and sour soup. We have used Shanghai Garden for over two years regularly. Always high quality food and quickly delivered by friendly staff. I highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ordered £30 worth of food first Chinese in years. Pork in black bean was actually in gravy,lumps an all. Chow mein tasted the same. If we wanted meat and gravy we could of done it ourselves. Very disappointed and has actually put us off Chinese food. The black bean sauce (gravy) was very thin.wont be going back and certainly wont reccomend.No veg either in chow mein just meat ,noodles and some sauce (gravy again).

Delivery came pretty quick, the food was just awful, the rice smelt awful as I was dishing it up could smell burnt grease, the chicken in the rice had black marks on it from the Burnt pan, the curry sauce was green looked like mushy peas. Whole meal was dreadful wouldn’t give it my dog! Considering we are in tough times you would think the food would be spot on. No chance! No even worth one circle

Great value, good food, quick delivery! Sweet and sour is definitely the way forwards, big duck portions too.

Always enjoyed meals from Shanghai. Just used their on line meal order booking. Not disappointed, worked well. Meal delivered on time and hot.

This is one Chinese that you must try and you will be ordering again! A wide choice and good prices, the food is excellent from gere

All food were very good compared to Chinese around Stafford town except for the salt and pepper king prawns, think they mistakenly put salt twice.

Having lived in the area for seven years we have used this takeaway regularly. Mostly it has been without fault. However, the last few times that I have ordered yuk sung, the lettuce leaves have been so small and torn, I have not really been able to do anything with them. Thinking that this was just unfortunate, I decided again this evening to order the yuk sung, giving the takeaway the benefit of the doubt. The same thing happened, half lettuce leaves that were torn. I was unable to wrap anything in them! I phoned the takeaway and raised my concern, the female who answered the phone relayed my complaint to who I presumed was cooking the food (a Chinese female), who was not in the least bit concerned or sympathetic, and I heard her saying that if she gave me a whole lettuce leaf, there would be nothing left of the lettuce! When I’m paying £5 for the yuk sung, surely it doesn’t matter if I’m given full lettuce leaves! Her response was awful and not at any point was I offered a resolution. Having ordered from here as frequently as twice a month at times (even when not every time has been perfect), I will not be back. They have lost a loyal customer. Change your attitude and stop being greedy Shanghai, because you’re not even competitively priced!

Me and my partner decided to try this chinese as it is close to home ordered online to get the 10% discount had to wait 40mins on the online timer to collect, went to collect and was told had to wait another 15 min. 55min wait for collection is terrible. The women on the counter was very rude!! Some of the food was ok..chicken balls, egg fries rice and salt and pepper chicken. The sweet and sour sauce was very bland, chips were floppy, veggie spring rolls were bland and veggie chow mein was very bland! The portion sizes were also very suprisingly small. Wont be returning!

Love this place. This time my partner ordered too and had crispy duck with pancakes and thai chow mein. I had the pork dumplings and prawn chow mein. The gravy in the chow mein is so moreish - I want to eat it all over again! Definitely the best Chinese food in Stafford. It feels like the chef really cares about the food. Will not order from elsewhere now.

Really enjoyed my meal from here. I'd been about to order from another local place, from a leaflet that came through the door. After googling them I decided against it, as they had a food hygiene rating of 2! I looked up local Chinese places with a food hygiene rating of 5 out of 5 and found this one! Was impressed to see they have a good quality, well thought out website too. I ordered the prawn chow mein, and it was fantastic, with plump juicy prawns (not overcooked and rubbery), and the pork dumplings were tasty. I shared the quarter chicken with the cats. Free prawn crackers were a bonus. Delivery was quick and food was hot. Was surprised to see this place didn't have any reviews yet, so thought I'd write one! Perhaps they are new? Will be happy to order from here again.
