Fantastic place, quality food, highly recommended!

Half empty on a Friday night should have given us a clue as to what was to come! Poor quality all frozen starters really disappointing.

Picked up a takeaway tonight from Jasmin Peking in Eccleshall having avoided this place for over 6 months due to poor quality food. Sadly nothing has changed so we will not be going back. How can they fry frozen food and get it so wrong? This is frozen peasant food and they cremate it! Maybe they should read the instructions on the packet, frozen sweet and sour chicken cooked so long it was barely edible it was so tough. Prawn crackers were ok that’s about it…. Another £35 wasted.

Saturday night, no booking but they squeezed us in. Consequently it was a while before we were able to order, but the serving staff, although busy, were charming and attentive. We had the mixed starter, which quite honestly was all we really needed! Every mouthful was a delight! Our mains (sizzling prawns in oyster sauce and Chop Suey) also didn't disappoint.

Over priced for what it is. This place would never survive in a city, this level of bad food just unbelievable and also bad portion sizes. If two people order the same thing they give just one normal portion, not two portions. Clearly cheaping out. As someone who goes to many many Chinese restaurants this is one of the worst I've had the displeasure to visit. Why on earth it took 45 mins for starters to come and then 30 mins for second course then 30 more mins for main course. It's insane! They need to really improve their food, portion size and service. They're using all the tricks in the book to squeeze money from their customers rather than just proving a really good time and good food. The food isn't even authentic Chinese food it's poor imitation if I'm honest.

He was very wrong and I was very disappointed. 5 grown men were sharing 8 dishes between us. Each dish had a bite-sized rib or triangle of prawn toast. It was the same as the original food but just hardly any of it. We then waited 45 minutes after our starters for our next course to come. I can only assume this is to encourage you to buy more drinks because the place wasn't even half full. I'm kicking myself for not just walking out in the first place if I'm honest. It was the WORST experience I've had mainly because I just feel completely ripped off. £25 on standard Chinese food that wasn't enough to fill you up. Don't get me wrong it was nice but nothing special and not worth the price tag. I'm extremely disappointed and will never be returning!

Order pretty regularly... But this time it was terrifyingly bad, my butterfly prawns were fried and burnt to complete crisp and my chicken fried rice was like the bottoms of the pit scraps... Not impressed and I love they're food, did me dirty.

First time visiting after a friend recommended visiting. Walked in to be seated straight away. The tasting menu was varied and the food, delicious. All staff were helpful and cheerful. A really nice place to visit and will be back again! Thank you.

Just been tonight and went quite late but they sat me. The food was amazing and the portion sizes are not overkill which means you are not over doing it, they get it just right. The Staff are super friendly and accommodating. I definitely will come back.

The taste of the food itself is fantastic, however since they changed the ordering style (no longer a buffet) and upped the price, I find that it's no longer worth visiting the restaurant. The portions are tiny and you can't order anything additional. I don't know why they added a dessert - I don't know a single person who wants a low quality chocolate cake from a Chinese. Get a takeaway, it's so much more worth it.

This place used to be fantastic. It needs to be refurbished, food was not worth the £26 a head tiny portions with no meat. We were given a rice for one when we ordered for 2 the tables next to us was larger. The waitress took the plate of duck to bring the next corse as I was still chewing. Whilst uncomfortably standing around watching you eat!

I left Eccleshall in 2012, when the Jasmine Peking offered an "all you can eat" buffet for £14.95 and we used to visit on a regular basis. I booked a table for last night having seen the same offer albeit now £18.95 on the menu outside the restaurant a few days earlier whilst in Eccleshall. The "all you can eat" buffet have now been replaced by a limited choice buffet of starters (up to eight per table), a bowl of soup, two main courses, a side order, and a pudding. I have to be perfectly honest, the portion sizes were extremely small. This costs £22.95 from Sun to Thu and £25.95 on Fri and Sat. This is totally over priced for what you get for your money. The standard of the food has also dropped significantly. Service was cheery and polite though. I found myself sticking to the carpets too. Both my girlfriend and I had poorly stomachs last night and massive headaches this morning. Probably the monosodium glutamate used in the food. Please remove the menu from the window as if is extremely misleading suggesting that the "all you can eat" buffet is still available for £18.95. I am so suprize that nobody has mentioned this. Unfortunately we won't be making a return visit .

Worst duck pancakes and pork yuk sung stater I’ve ever had, Absolutely tasteless, I hope this is not the quality of food authentic Chinese food is as I was so disappointed, main chicken with black bean was better, we would nit order from here again, Shame, as I always support local businesses

We have been going to Jasmine Peking for many years, and we have always enjoyed the buffet style menu, which was always good value. However we went last night and were disappointed. The buffet style menu still exists, but is severely reduced - you can no longer request additional starters and only one option per person on the second course. This would have been okay if the price was the same. However, it has gone up more than a third from £18.95 per person to £25.50 pet person. A MASSIVE increase. When I questioned the price etc the waitress said it was due to the cost of living crisis and her wages hadn't gone up! We will not be returning, which us a shame as we used to enjoy the restaurant.

Lovely restaurant, been here lots over the years. Shame to the buffet meal has been replaced with a 2 course main meal and one side limit. (Price still the same). Felt rushed to eat up to leave. Might be a while till next visit.

Relatively small restaurant on Eccleshall High St. doesn’t initially look anything special but the food and service are delightful. Staff are helpful and engaging. Good (limited) range of beers and wines. Buffet style service so you have as little or as much as you like. Will be taking the family at some point!

Amazing food that was beautifully cooked. Portion sizes were generous with plenty of options. Service was impeccable and the server had a great positive, fun attitude. All staff were extremely attentive.

Worst restaurant I have ever been to the portions was tiny a chicken ball main comes with only 2 chicken balls we ordered 6 chips and only 1 tray came out staff was extremely rude over priced no longer a buffet with no warning even charged us for a 1year old who was sleeping the entire evening I think the tastiest thing that was there was the filling in my mouth that broke eating this garbage food never complain about food or write reviews but this is appalling and shouldn’t be aloud to be served to humans as I wouldn’t feed this to the local rats that I think they are cooking for the chicken skewers to be so bad as previous reviewers has been said taking plates away well your talking and rushing you to order please stay away and hopefully it shuts down and it’s nothing but food poisoning 4 of the 6 people was throwing up in the same hour disrespect when entering is horrible even so we had to say we came to have food not be talked down to stay away shut them down

We have been regulars here for many years and have always been very impressed. We were a little concerned to read some recent critical reviews and to hear the menu had changed. So 4 of us went in last night to test it out. Firstly all the food was delicious and cooked to order. Some of the best Chinese food you could get. Yes the menu has changed but you can still order large amounts and lots of variety. You order 8 items each for your starter. Then soup or duck. Good portion size. Then 2 mains and a side each. They also now include a dessert which they didn't before. The table was overflowing with food. Everything was tasty. We are big eaters but we struggled to eat it all. There was plenty. They have changed the system as they are trying to avoid food waste with people constantly over ordering all the time and this is the right thing to do in this day and age. The service was excellent. The price is very reasonable for the quantity and quality you get. Their prices on bottles of wine are the lowest I have seen in local restaurants. We were happy with every aspect and have booked in for 13 of us for New Year's Eve. Well done Jasmine for making a brave change without sacrificing quality and value for money.

Went for my sons birthday having been twice since we moved to the area three months ago. Arrived to be told that the all you can eat had been stopped on the day ( no warning). This set alarm bells ringing as the portion sizes before were awful but because you could always order more it was not a problem. The price has not changed despite the removal of the all you can eat offer. Starters - choose any 8. Sounds good but then you then get literally one of each per person. One wing, one piece of rib, one prawn, one mini spring roll, one teaspoon of seaweed, etc. not good. Intermediary - any two but again strictly portion controlled per person, so one wrap each per course. Main courses - choose two each which again sounds fine but who thinks that an adult portion of sweet and sour chicken balls is 2? The portions were tiny - except the rice. Used to be worthwhile now very much not.

We visited this restaurant for my wife's birthday as a family. Decor was poor. We were overwhelmed with starters....so that we were obviousky not going to order mains from the 'all you can eat buffet' The menu states £10.95 for a child and £23.99 for an adult. We had a ten and fourteen year old with us. The ten year old only ordered a bowl of chips. The restaurant charged us £23.95 for her, claiming she was an adult. They also charged £23.99 claiming a 14 year old was an adult to. Apparently, in their opinion, anyone over 1.4metres is an adult and even a ten year old eating just a small portion of chips will pay almost £25!! The food was so hot I burnt my mouth. I and one othet party member have had an upset tummy after eating here. When I questioned staff they became very aggressive, raising their voice and suddenly conversing to colleagues in Chinese so I couod be excluded from their conversation WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I have been coming for years and have lived local i injoy every time we go service is 10 out of 10 food is 10 out of 10 my family eat here the reviews I have been reading are totally rubbish they are attentive and kind they all ways take care of my self and my family 100% and anyone visiting please bare an open mind as it is very nice food and the service can be very busy at times

Have been here twice now. I'm surprised at the bad reviews regarding service, both times they have been noticably really good compared to other restaurants. They can't do enough for you. Food was also good! One of the best chinese restaurants out there in my opinion.

Went for a meal on Saturday 23rd July 6pm. Table for 5. Food was nice but warm not hot. We all felt like we were made to feel rushed. I booked my table so we were not walk ins. The waitress wearing the black cap. Started to take our plates away while some of us were still eating, I found this very, very rude. I will have to say something next time. As on the evening I didn't want to make a fuss as it was a celebration meal for my Engagement with my parents. Table of at least 16 adults next to a table of all their children at 9pm.... ongoing. So didn't think it was a family restaurant that time of night, wanted a quiet relaxed evening. Shame as the food soo nice.

We love this restaurant. Have been going here with family and friends now for over 12 years . The food is Always of a good high standard, great choices cooked to order and very reasonably priced . Carry out catered for also . Clean , tidy, wheelchair access available . And always very friendly staff.

Never too busy when we visit. Staff are always quite pleasant. The prawn chow mein while nice, could have done with at least a few more prawns rather than the 3 or 4 pieces we were given. Regardless, if you're in Eccleshall, I guess it's worth a visit for Chinese

I have gone here often. The food is not special but it's okay Chinese food. But I will not be returning again. The reasons for me not returning and giving this 1 star review is because of the staff and service this place provides. It turkey is so appalling that I have had to write this review to hopefully encourage them to be more positive around their customers. Staff lack manners and are really rude to customers. This needs to change the need to be polite and treat the customers with respect.

Food quality vs pice is not good.

I would say probably the best Chinese I've ever had. The service and the dishes were incredible. So good to try so many dishes in the restaurant.

One of the best Chinese buffets I have been to! Went here with my friend and her family, food was gorgeous. You can eat as much as you want but it’s not like a normal buffet where you select you order your dishes and they bring them out for you to share on the table, want some more they bring it out, this saves waste and the food is cooked fresh. Will definitely be returning

Came here to celebrate my daughters 17th Birthday. The food and service as usual were excellent.

What a lovely restaurant, friendly helpful staff and delicious food. We had the banquet menu and all of the dishes were absolutely brilliant. I tried several dishes that I hadn’t eaten since the 70’s and they were just amazing. Well worth a visit highly recommended.

This is a lovely restaurant Quality food made to order All you can eat But with table service that I think makes a big difference for this style of dining.

We ordered quite a lot for the whole family and it was a bit worrying that they said it would only be 10 minutes for collection… it made us question was the food even fresh. When we opened it up, it wasn’t steaming hot which qualifies that it wasn’t cooked fresh but the food was tasty. The chicken curry sauce was too watery for my likening and not as spices as it said it was going to be. There was more veggies than chicken inside the curry. Overall the entire food order was nice and we will probably come back again but ask if it can be cooked fresh.

Rang the changes tonight, not had Chinese for a while. It was fab! Loads of flavour, amazing veggie lettuce wraps you assemble at home. No greasy fat to be seen anywhere! Everyone enjoyed their food, duck, chicken balls with sweet and sour and hotter ma po bean curd. Mmmmm...

Bought egg fried rice and beef curry extra hot I travel for my job and eat in my van asked for extra container to put the food in she declined said I got 2 already first for me The food is basic not worth the charge of 10.80 and minimum transaction on card is 10 pound that's a joke prices are dumb for chewy beef and the lady at the till needs to learn manners or learn English a bit better

Exellent service, food, price and convenience.

We were made very welcome at this restaurant. Fresh food delivered to your table. Very attentive and friendly. Really enjoyed our evening. The waitress was cracking jokes all evening which made it an enjoyable experience. The Decor is a bit tired but the food and customer service are fab. I will definately be using this restaurant again.

We used to use this place regularly for around 10 years until maybe 18 months ago when we stopped going due to the food quality so we thought we would give it a try again.Service very attentive and pleasant but the restaurant is very worn out and actually quite shabby, a coat of paint and some new carpet would be a start.The food is quickly delivered as it should be but there is nothing fresh all just straight from the freezer into the fryer so most food is over cooked and dripping with oil.We had 2 rib starters which were a joke they were so small and very little edible meat on either.Ordered a king prawn dish and got 2 king prawns each!Won’t be going back again which is a pity as it’s so convenient.

You really don't deserve the business! Ordered as take out this evening had a King prawn chow mein £6.80! Was absolutely disgusted! I literally had to search for the king prawns, when I counted them there was 6 prawns! Yes they were king size! On complaining apparently that's the normal amount the chef puts in the dish! I explained that if I ordered a portion of soft noodles as an extra at £4.20 I would be paying £2.60 for 6 king prawns which equates to 43p each! Was infomed they are very expensive if I went to morrisons I would pay alot! Well I have news for you! your a restaurant and take-out and you buy your supplies at trade so stop ripping customers off!

Consistently quality food and service

Got to be honest about this, Food was ok but not worth the ignorance or the time they waste hoping u will leave. Went in there tonight for food, We waited 1hr and a half to have 2 loads of starters before we had to ask for mains as they kept ignoring us and walking past the table. By the time the mains came out , The portion size was less than a portion, My main consisted of 5 chunks of chicken in a sweet and sour dish. And 1 bowl of egg fried rice between 4 people. All in all I probably eat £10 worth of food elsewhere and had to put up with sloppy staff who clearly only cared about your money and took there time so that you filled up on drinks. You are much better getting a sit down meal from elsewhere as it would be bigger portions and cheaper. Then there supposed buffet lol £50 wasted

We went last night to celebrate my Grandad’s birthday with family (ages 4-96) and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic, fresh, flavoursome, & not greasy. Staff were attentive but not in your face, excellent price for the amount you get. Just gutted I couldn’t eat anymoreWill definitely return when back in Stafford

Quirky setup. Banquet menu with smaller portions but order as many as you like. Both starters and mains. All dishes superb and cooked fresh. Squid starter was top class. Definitely be back

We have been visiting Eccleshall for some years and we were neve quite sure why we had not visited Jasmine before anyway that has now changed and our visit with friends turned to be a cracking night. The buffet with fixed price per head really does mean you can eat as much as you want but to be honest with 8 starters between us followed by soup and duck then main courses we kept things steady. Every course is freshly prepared so if you want more you do wait a short while but trust me it was worth it. Great food great value so highly recommended

Love the food here. If you like Chinese food I'm sure you will too.I really like that it's not a buffet, you can have as much as you want but it's cooked fresh and served to your table.There are electric fans inside that is helpful for hot days. The tables are dressed with cloth cover and napkins and the chairs are fabric and comfortable.We will be dining back here.
