We dined here last night for the first time. The food and service was excellent and as a bonus we could bring our own alcoholic drinks so the bill was reasonable. I would certainly recommend it and will definitely be back

We've just enjoyed our first take away from Shamraj and it was ace, a really good Lamb Acharri and Garlic Fried Rice and a vegetable Channa Balti with poppadoms and dips excellent food many thanks

Five of us went there yesterday, as they don’t have a license, and serve only soft drinks and Mocktails, we took our own beer etc, and they are happy to provide glasses. Food and service excellent. We will go again when we are next in town.

I have to say this is the best takeaway I have had. We have eaten in a few times and have had a number of takeaways, I can't fault the food we have had every time. The staff are very smart and also very polite , they make sure there is plenty to eat on the Sunday buffet and never rush you in or out. I would recommend if your in the area and want takeaway or a sit down ,give them a try, it's very good quality tasty food.

How many errors can the new guy make? But the worst part is his attitude when trying to cover his mistakes. It’s a shame as the curries are good if you get them. Lewis

Best Indian food we have tasted! We were visiting the area on holiday but would certainly eat here regularly if we were residents. The service was lovely and friendly too.

Staff lovely, food lovely but...Saturday night Booked for 6pm, had show at the regal for 730pm, a simple main course for 3 took ages so were late for the show....had to ask them twice where the food was, never happened before but annoying, wasn't overly busy either.

Went after the cinema this week and the good was absolutely fantastic, and the service too. Have been many times over the years but not since lockdown. It has always been good but the food this week was exceptional. Only serves non-alcoholic drinks but you can take your own alcohol for a very modest corkage charge. Their new menu has all the old favourites and some seriously good additions too - and the new chairs are really comfortable as well.

Excellent takeaway. First class Jalfrezi and saag aloo.

From entering to leaving it was a good evening from the young man that seated us and took our order was attentive without being over eager, to the food that my wife and myself had was amazing, chicken tikka masala, chicken tikka Biriani vegetable curry peshwari naan, the flavours textures fantastic a very pleasurable experience.

Shout out to the staff member or boss/manager of the Shamraj restaurant, who lent my husband a jack so that he could change our flat tyre. We're very grateful and got home safely thanks to you ☺️

Had not been to the restaurant for a few years. The meal and service were both excellent. Very friendly atmosphere. Food tasty and will be returning again very soon.

We booked our table over the phone and arrived 30 minutes before the buffet closed. When we arrived the waiter explained it would be a few minutes before our starters would be ready, as they were being prepared fresh. The food was delicious and it was nice to try dishes we wouldn’t normally order from the menu. The waiters were lovely and explained each dish available to us. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will be definitely be returning.

Absolutely terrible do not go to the buffet on a Sunday I literally just got home after a nice day in the sun and having had many great experiences with this firm I thought great time for a buffet. But. Starters were tepid warm samosas were soggy as mash chicken wings were cremated and I think the chicken tikka was from last week. So I thought ok let’s move to the mains. Having scraped the last of the red ce out barely a spoon full I move to the chicken tikka my favourite. It was burnt to the sides of the container dry as hell and looked like the sauce had split. When the waiter was told admittedly he offered to replace but my appetite had been shot but he had no issue in charging the full amount ! AVOID worst £15 ever spent

Great curry went there sat 6 may food great staff brilliant I live in Essex and travel to tenbury a lot that will definitely be my local curry house now I found it thanks guys

We have enjoyed a weekend break in Tenby Wells and decided to try Shamraj on the Saturday night and from the moment we walked in we were made very welcome by the owner. My wife and myself were very impressed with the lovely food and presentation. Thank you.

Last two takeaways from here the order has been wrong. Tonight when I ordered they said "2 rice," I said yes for the two curries and repeated what I had ordered. When he came home there was only 1 curry in bag, phoned and complained, husband went back to collect so round trip x 2 = 20.miles. Won't be bothering again.

Our favourite Balti house. Authentic cuisine in very friendly atmosphere and reasonably priced, Sunday buffet a real treat. If you are ever near Tenbury Wells it would be well worth seeking it out as well as exploring this lovely and friendly town.

Brilliant place! Great food, friendly staff, good value.🙂 Only thing that spoilt it was 3 overweight middle aged balding men in shirts and gilets who have never been taught manners...clicking their fingers at the staff, talking over everyone else, calling all the staff Abdullah 🙄 and it was only 8.30pm....my daughters 15 & 17 asked me why they were acting like pigs🙄...luckily we were just finishing our meals, i apologised to the staff as we left and hoped the idiots didn't stay to long.

A wonderful restaurant, excellent food, service and atmosphere. The Malai Kofta i'd particularly recommend. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

As a family we ate at shamraj in tenbury Wells. The meal was one of the best we have had anywhere. we travel 30 minutes to eat there and it is totally worth it. The restaurant is clean, the staff are very welcoming, the chef is amazing, I would recommend the Shamraj as one of the best.

Gorgeous food, with a variety of curries & sides consumed. Very friendly, attentive service. Only small complaint we would have is that the restaurant could have done with being a bit warmer as it was a bit chilly to sit & eat in. I would recommend the half Tandoori chicken as it was one of the best that I’ve eaten.

Ate in. No alcohol licence but that's fine if the food is decent. Sadly this was a curry that would have been better served with ten pints. I don't know what it is about Herefordshire and Worcestershire but people seem to highly rate terrible curry. The Shami kebab starter was fine. My Chicken with split pee thingy, chicken was chewy and tasted unpleasant - how is that achieved? The yellow peas were powdery and had not been cooked for long enough. All our curries tasted the same. Bland, generic, depressing. Some woman on here claimed she's been to India and thought this place did excellent curry. Absolutely bizarre.

Unfortunately incorrect information online recommended by loads but we can’t get food until later due to the nature of our work. However they don’t open until 11 apparently it’s now 10 because they are too quiet to stay open ! Shame as our order was going to be over £85 ! And they would have become our go to hope to update the review if this changes

We were given a very warm welcome, the food was so fresh, beautifully cooked and great authentic flavours, can highly recommend having a curry meal here. I haven’t had tandoori fish before, it was so good, helpings were very generous.

Disappointed with this restaurant considereing the number of very positive reviews. Unfortunately the chicken in our dishes tasted tough, as though it had been reheated repeatedly. The service was suffering from very limited staff and a large number of take away orders.

Disappointed with the fish curry I had, especially for the price I paid for it over £10! Fish had not been marinated in the curry sauce just placed in the sauce & heated through, as the fish although cooked had no taste of curry.

No longer serve alcohol so not a place to sit in and the take outs are awful. Having to travel out of the area now for decent Indian food

We have eaten here several times and always been satisfied. It serves traditional Indian food, which is always cooked to perfection. The staff are always willing to explain what a dish consists of and are always very polite and pleasant.

A bit disappointed I wonder if the Chef has changed.

Absolutely fabulous take away. Ordered a take away yesterday 14th Feb, vindaloo and tika with the usual sundries. Even though they were busy, the food was superb and we did not have a long wait. Highly recommended.

I have visited here often before. I’m a gluten free vegan with a mushroom allergy and find the staff very accommodating in making sure that my meals are safe for me to eat. Very friendly too.

Even though we have to travel 20/25 minutes to pick up our food, I can honestly say it is quite simply the best Indian around.The service and more importantly the food is excellent. We have been going here for over 5/6 years and not had one bad meal, whether we have eaten in or had takeaways.I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.JWWP

Good food, Friendly atmosphere

Although family living locally use Shamraj more frequently, this was only our second visit but as last time we were met with smiles as we entered and all staff did not appear to stop smiling all night.That of course is fine but would not compensate for poor service or food but each was also just right.Unknown to us, there is a midweek special offer which is a starter, a main, and a rice or naan for £10.95 which is great value as there appears to be no restriction on the options available.My own Roshunee Mirch (Chicken Tikka with Garlic and Chili) was very tasty and although sporting 4 chili symbols on the menu was not so hot that I could not taste anything.In addition to the normal Indian-branded lager, local Robinson's Flagon (cider) is on tap and if you have not tried this before stick with it, the initial 1/2 pint is vinegary but once you have overcome this it becomes quite moreish - it is best to not pause too long between drinks else you risk the potential for a return of the initial vinegary taste.

Stayed in Tenbury for two nights and we always eat at Shamrj. Visited both nights and the food is exquisite and good value for money.
